Laurence J. Broderick III, 70, of Cemetery Street in Concord, died Friday at the Hospice House in Concord after a short illness. He was born in Boston, the son of Laurence and Marguerite (Younker) Broderick. He attended North Quincy High School and was a graduate of Hesser College. Broderick served in the U.S. Army for three years as a medic and an optician during the Korean War. He worked as an accounting manager at Mobil Oil for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Elks Club No. 133 in Concord, a past president of the Mobil Oil Annuitant Club and a member of the Great East Lake Association in Acton, Maine. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nancy (Riley) Broderick of Concord; a son, Laurence Broderick IV of Brunswick, N.Y.; a daughter, Kathy Conway of Northwood; a sister, Dawn Barrett of Westerly, R.I.; and two grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Church Street Chapel at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CRVNA Hospice House, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302; to the Concord Fire and Rescue Squad, 24 Horseshoe Pond Lane, Concord 03301; or to the charity of one's choice.

Marion Jenisch, EPSOM

EPSOM - Marion Jenisch, 96, died Friday at Concord Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Pittsfield, the daughter of Edward and Alice Park. She was formerly of Barnstead. Jenisch was a founding member of the New Hampshire Rose Society. She was an avid gardener who loved to raise and show roses.She enjoyed poetry and could recite at length from the works of many poets. She also enjoyed the outdoors. She was an avid cook. She was a member of the Audubon Society. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, William Jenisch of Epsom; two sons, William Jenisch of Hancock and Douglas Jenisch of Corinth, Vt.; two sisters, Ardrea Spencer of Concord and Arlene Rich of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A sister, Virginia Meader, died previously. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Barnstead. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of the arrangements.

Eva L. Caron, MANCHESTER

MANCHESTER - Eva L. Caron, died Sunday at Catholic Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Manchester, the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Radcliffe) Belaire. She was a lifelong resident of Concord. Caron worked as knitting supervisor for Pandora company before retiring. She was a member of the Foster Grandparent program for 15 years. Survivors include a son, Ronald Caron of Pembroke; two daughters, Shirley Santomassimo of Concord and Gloria Lopez of Manchester; and a sister, Irene Pelletier of Manchester. A son, Robert Caron Jr., died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside services will be held Thursday at noon at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery chapel. William E. Dickinson III, LACONIA

LACONIA - William "Duke" E. Dickinson III, formerly of Curtis Road in Gilford, died yesterday at the St. Francis Home. He was born in Greenfield, Mass., the son of William and Jean (Cross) Dickinson Jr. He lived in Greenfield, Mass., before moving to Gilford in 1967 and to the St. Francis Home in 2000. Dickinson was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Laconia. Survivors include a brother, John Dickinson of Laconia; a sister, Judith Taylor of Sturbridge, Mass.; and five nieces. Calling hours will not be held. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 876 N. Main St., Laconia. The Rev. Jonathan MacKenzie, rector of the church, will officiate. Burial will be at the family lot at Green River Cemetery in Greenfield, Mass. John P. Hawes, SCARBOROUGH, Maine

SCARBOROUGH, Maine - John P. Hawes, 75, formerly of Concord, died Sept. 11 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, Maine. He was born in Hyannis, Mass., the son of Alfred and Isabel (Wragg) Hawes. He lived in Needham, Mass., for many years. Hawes worked as an electronic technician at Aerotronic Associates in Contoocook. He was a member of the Needham Barbershop Quartet and the Masonic Lodge No. 91 of the Scottish Rite in Concord. Calling hours will not be held. Services will be private. Hay & Peabody Funeral Home in Portland, Maine, is in charge of the arrangements.

Evelyn Catherine Nielsen

Evelyn Catherine Nielsen, 87, died Sept. 13 at Concord Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Concord, the daughter of John and Georgiana (Rivers) Supry. She lived in the Penacook-Boscawen area most of her life. Nielsen graduated from Penacook High School in 1934. She worked for many years for Beede Electric Co. and for New Hampshire State Forestry. She was a life member of the Webster Ezekiel Grange. She enjoyed the outdoors and her camp in Grafton. Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Preve of Epsom, with whom she lived for the past three years, and Sandra Greene of Alstead; a brother, John Supry of Boscawen; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Her husband, George Nielsen, died in 1970. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302-1797. Wendell J. Walter B. Sweet, 78, of Concord died yesterday at home. He was born in Hartford, Conn., the son of William and Frances (Lawton) Sweet. He graduated from Glastonbury (Conn.) High School and Springfield College cum laude. He served in the Army during World War II. Sweet worked as a sales representative for Granite State Minerals. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, where he served on the board of trustees, was a Sunday school teacher and worked with the Youth Fellowship. He played basketball and soccer in his youth and enjoyed bowling; coached youth basketball at First Congregational Church and Babe Ruth Baseball in Concord; was an active member of the Concord Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for 40 years and received local and national honorary recognition; and was a member of the Fisherman's Club and the Beaver Meadow Country Club in Concord. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Antonia (Makara) Sweet of Concord; three daughters, Barbara Bell, Judith King and Shirley Colby, all of Concord; two brothers, Robert Sweet of New York City and Ralph Sweet of Bennington, Vt.; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A brother, Arthur Sweet, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Church Street Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Concord. The Rev. David Keller, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Blossom Hill Cemetery. ROCHESTER - Shirley M. Price, 67, of Rochester Terrace and formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday at her home after an illness. She was born in Lee, the daughter of George and Gladys (Demeritt) Smith. She lived in Pittsfield for many years before moving to Rochester eight years ago. Price worked for Precision Finishing in Concord before retiring. She enjoyed her pets, bingo, crafts, crocheting and camping in Pittsburg. She also enjoyed watching Red Sox games. Survivors include two sons, David Price Jr. and Kevin Price, both of Pittsfield; two daughters, Donna Messier of Canterbury and Linda Bedell of Pittsfield; a brother, Charles Smith of Nottingham; five sisters, Ruth Brady of Colebrook, Margaret Wheeler of Strafford, Alice Pender of Northfield, Pauline Norce of Brentwood and Joyce Smith of Newmarket; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her companion, Terry Hartshorn of Rochester. Her husband, David Price, died in 1981. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. H. J. Grondin & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 177 N. Main St., in Rochester is in charge of the arrangements.

Mildred G. Taggett, GILFORD

GILFORD - Mildred G. Taggett, 85, of Lake Shore Road died at home Saturday. She was born in Gilford, the daughter of Samuel and Ida (Brown) Harris. She lived most of her life in Gilford. Taggett worked at Laconia Manufacturing for 33 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Meredith Center and a former treasurer and deaconess. She was a senior companion and a hospice volunteer. Survivors include a son, William Taggett of Meredith; a daughter, Cynthia Sargent of Gilford; four grandchildren, William Taggett and Michael Taggett, both of Meredith, Mary Peck of Roundrock, Texas, and Barbara Bacon of Franklin; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles Taggett, died in 1981. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. The Rev. Madelyn Klose, former pastor of the Meredity Center Free Will Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bayside Cemetery in Laconia. William A. Pellerin, NORTHFIELD

NORTHFIELD - William "Bill" A. Pellerin, 86, formerly of Sargent Street, died at Mountain Ridge Genesis Eldercare in Franklin Saturday. He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., the son of Joseph and Adeline (Aube) Pellerin. He lived in Northfield for many years. He served as a private first class in the Army during World War II. He was part of Battery H, 197th Coast Artillery Antiaircraft, which saw action in the South Pacific. For many years he was employed at Tilton Endless Belt, retiring when he was 65. He was a longtime member of The Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post No. 49 and was a former sergeant-at-arms. He carried the wreath in the Memorial Day parade for many years. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Tilton. Survivors include a sister, Rita Fifield of New Britain, Conn., and Hallandale, Fla.; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Tilton. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Tilton. Donations may be made to The Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post No. 49, 4 Park St., Northfield 03276.

Patricia Moran, DANBURY

DANBURY - Patricia (Peterson) Moran, 64, of Danbury, died Saturday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Franklin, the daughter of George and Mary (Larkin) Peterson. She attended local schools and also Plymouth Teacher's College. Moran spent her early years in Danbury and moved to Grafton for about 10 years before returning to Danbury, where she lived for more than 40 years. She worked in the Elkins and Danbury post offices and was postmaster in Danbury for about 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Helping Hand Circle and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 96. She was a Silver Star Member of the Blazing Star Grange No. 71 and received the Community Citizen Award from Lake and Valley Pomona Grange No. 17. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ray Moran of Danbury; a daughter, Lisa Windsor of Georges Mills; two sons, George Moran of Abington, Mass., and Phillip Moran of Holland, Mich.; two sisters, Teresa Leclerc of Danbury and Frances Murdoch of Bradenton, Fla.; six grandchildren; three aunts; nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 174 Main St., New London. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale Cemetery, Danbury. Eva Hooper, SPRINGFIELD

SPRINGFIELD - Eva (Luck) Hooper, 91, died Saturday at The Clough Center in New London. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Robert and Nellie (Swim) Luck. Hooper lived in Springfield almost all her life. Over the years she cooked and cleaned for various area families. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Carl. Hooper of Springfield; a granddaughter, Linda Dutton of Biloxi, Miss.; and a great grandson, Philip Dutton. A daughter, Doris Crandall, died in 1990; a brother, Robert Luck, and a sister, Hazel Palmer, also died previously. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery, West Springfield. Fred Davis will officiate. Helen H. Anderson, HILLSBORO

HILLSBORO - Helen H. Anderson, 87, died Saturday at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Concord after a short illness. She was raised in Newton, Mass., and lived for a time in Benton Harbor, Mich. She attended Wheelock College. She ran her own nursery school and later taught junior high school. In the 1970s, she and her husband owned and operated Knollcroft Antiques on Sleeper Road in Hillsboro. Anderson was active in church circles and later with the Washington Congregational Church, where her husband was pastor for 21 years. As a writer, she published in camping magazines, the Christian Science Monitor, religious periodicals and many daily papers. She enjoyed art, and worked with oils, watercolors and charcoal; cross-stitching; rug-braiding; and quilting. Survivors include her husband of 63 years; two sons; a daughter; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Washington Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elevator Fund at Washington Congregational Church.

Charlotte B. Robinson

Charlotte B. Robinson, 82, of Mooreland Avenue died Sunday at Concord Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Manchester, the daughter of Archie and Louise (Stearns) Baker. She graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1938 and earned an associate's degree from New Hampshire College of Finance and Accounting in 1940. Robinson had lived in Concord since 1955. She worked as secretary for the Concord Health Department for more than 20 years before retiring in 1980. She was a volunteer at Kimball School for many years. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, William Robinson of Concord; and a son, Russell Robinson of Bow. Calling hours will not be held. Burial will be at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Waters Funeral Home in Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
