KEENE - Richard P. Blood Sr., 67, of Meadow Road, relative of an area resident, died Tuesday at the Cheshire Medical Center after a period of illness. He was born in West Lebanon, the son of Allie and Doris (Hutchins) Blood. He had lived in Keene, Stoddard and Surry before returning to Keene, where he lived for most of his life. He attended Keene schools and worked for Kingsbury Machine Tool as a grinder for 24 years. He retired in 1990. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Keene and the AARP. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Werden) Blood of Keene; a son, Richard Blood Jr. of Keene; three daughters, Jean Wright of Fitzwilliam, Kimberly Blood of Keene and Nancy Fuller of Townsend, Vt.; three sisters, Arlene Moehle of Grove City, Fla., Margaret Patsfield of Penacook and Shirely Metivier of Keene; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Eleanor (Ward) Blood, died in 1987. There will be no calling hours. Services will be held Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. in the family lot of the Monadnock View Cemetery in West Keene. Donations may be made to the Monadnock Region Humane Society, P.O. Box 678, West Swanzey 03469. The Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Keene is in charge of arrangements.

James Thomas Geary, LARGO, Fla.

LARGO, Fla. - James Thomas Geary, 74, died Saturday at the Morton Plant Hospital in Largo, Fla. He was born in Concord and also lived in Penacook before moving to Florida in 1997. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Geary was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in Concord and Penacook. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a guard for the New Hampshire state prisons, for the Concord Police Department and for the Concord School District. Survivors include his wife, Mary Geary of Largo, Fla.; two sons, J. Thomas Geary of Pembroke and John Geary of Largo, Fla.; six daughters, Kathleen Vincent of Penacook, Patrice Jeffery of Concord, Ellen Walter of Portland, Ore., Mary Geary of Largo, Fla., Jaima Young of Largo, Fla., and Paula Geary of Ithaca, N.Y.; a brother, Eugene Geary of Boscawen; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The Veterans Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements. For information, call (727) 467-0922.

Richard A. Levesque, LOUDON

LOUDON - Richard A. Levesque, 65, of Wales Bridge Road, died Saturday at the Concord Hospice House. He was born in Manchester, the son of Arthur and Gladys (Whittier) Levesque. He lived in Loudon for two years. He formerly lived in Sandown. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry in 1955. He was a life member of the Halcyon Club in Derry and the Elks Lodge No. 146 in Hooksett. He was a benefit member of the F.O.E. Aerie No. 663 in Derry. His wife Carmel (Provost) Levesque, died in March. Survivors include four daughters, Michele Pilch of Hillsboro, Richl Ann Perkins of Loudon, Susane Minshew of Bedford and Dianne Silvey of Peoria, Ariz.; three brothers, Robert Levesque of Rangley, Maine, John Levesque of South Danville, N.Y., and Richard Thomas of Auburn; a sister, Barbara Joyce of Londonderry; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Crystal Avenue in Derry. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery on Brown Road in Manchester. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., in Derry. A gathering will be held immediately following the burial at the Halcyon Club on Central Street in Derry.

Leo "Lee" Dagenais

Leo J. "Lee" Dagenais, 81, of 25 Union Ave. died Saturday at the Hospice House in Concord. He was born in Laconia, the son of Joseph and Lena (Chouinard) Dagenais and had resided in Laconia all of his life. He served in the 197th Coast artillery of the New Hampshire National Guard and was activated into the Army during World War II, serving with the 744th Artillery Gun Battalion in the Pacific theater. He worked as a machinist for Scott & Williams for 31 years before retiring. He also worked as a meat cutter at Leo's Foodcenter on Pine Street. Dagenais was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish. He held membership in the Disabled American Veterans and was a life member of the Golden Age Association. He enjoyed playing golf at the Lakeview Country Club, hunting and fishing. He was also known as an avid ice fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rita A. (Henault) Dagenais of Laconia; a daughter, Michele Sedgley of Laconia; a son, Mark Dagenais; five grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. A sister, Dorothy Laro Clairmont, and two brothers, Theodore and Philippe Dagenais, died previously. Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House, 242 Pleasant St., Concord, 03301.

Maxine L. Baron, LACONIA
Monday, September 16, 2002
LACONIA - Maxine L. Baron, 62, of 16 Massachusetts Ave., died Saturday at the Hospice House in Concord. She was born in Laconia, the daughter of Joseph and Ivy (Karman) Chatigny. Baron was an assistant manager at Dexter Shoes for 21 years until illness forced her to leave in March. Survivors include four daughters, Laurel Patten of Gilmanton Iron Works, Lu-anne Boucher of Boscowan, and Naomi Patten and Carrie Blake both of Laconia; two sons, Duncan Blake of Moultonborough and Dean Blake of Seattle; and seven grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery The Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, will officiate. Simoneau and Lambert Funeral Home in Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.

Ralph Cutillo, GILFORD

GILFORD - Ralph Cutillo, 78, of Loch Lane died Friday at Lakes Region General Hospital after a short illness. Cutillo was born in Mansfield, Mass., the son of Pelligrino and Erminia (Tolentino) Cutillo. He graduated from Mansfield High School and attended Brown University. Cutillo developed many hotels and condominiums throughout New England and introduced timesharing to the Steele Hill Inn in Sanbornton in 1977. He owned and operated the Stone Bridge Inn in Tiverton, R.I., for many years. He was a member of the ARDA and received the Melvin Jones Fellow award from the Mansfield, Mass., Lions Club. He attended Our Lady of the Lakes in Lakeport. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lola (Valentini) Cutillo of Gilford; two sons, Stephen Cutillo of Gilford and William Cutillo of Sanbornton; a brother, Joseph Cutillo of Mansfield, Mass.; two sisters, Jennie Frances Dimmitt of North Attleboro, Mass., and Clair Lemieux of Florida; three grandchildren; and a nephew and four nieces. Calling hours will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, today from 6 to 9 p.m. Please use the Carriage House entrance. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes, 50 Washington St. in Lakeport. Burial will be in Sanbornton. Lloyd R. Woodbury, CLINTON, Mass.

CLINTON, Mass. - Lloyd Rumrill Woodbury, 75, died Saturday at his home following a period of illness with lung cancer. He was born in Manchester, the son of Philip Jackson and Ruth (Rumrill) Woodbury Sr. He attended schools in Hillsboro and graduated from New York Military Academy in Cornwall. He served in the U.S. Navy during and just after World War II. Later, he graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree in economics. He worked for several investment management companies, including Putnam Co., Eaton and Howard and Vance Sanders, all of Boston, Mass., and the Carlson Investments Co. of Concord. He was a chartered financial analyst and the original founder of the Bonds and Money Market Club. For 27 years, he lived in Sudbury, Mass., where he was an active Boy Scout master and served on the vestry of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church. His hobbies included skiing, traveling, fishing and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth (Andrews) Woodbury, of Clinton , Mass.; a daughter, Nancy Carey of Davis, Calif.; two sons, Mark Woodbury of Hudson, Mass., and Peter Woodbury of Sudbury, Mass.; a brother, Philip Woodbury Jr. of Peterborough and Hillsboro; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Edith Jane Woodbury. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Holt Woodbury Funeral Home, 32 School St., Hillsboro. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Antrim at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Rita A. Blazon, CONCORD

CONCORD - Rita A. Blazon, 80, of the Suncook Pond Apartments, died July 6 at Hospice House in Concord. She was born on Nov. 25, 1921 in Manchester and raised by Lymon and Leontine (Carette) Perron. She was a lifelong resident of Allenstown. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Blazon is survived by a son, Louis Blazon of St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister, Lucille Lemire of Lowell, Mass.; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. The Rev. Wilfred Deschamps, pastor, will officiate. Urn burial will follow in the old St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allenstown. The Petit Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.

Gloria B. Jenkins, MANCHESTER

MANCHESTER - Gloria Becker (Wallace) Jenkins, 79, of Manchester died Saturday after several years of declining health. She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Derry, the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Montbleau) (Leary) Becker. Jenkins lived most of her life in Manchester. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1939, she attended New Hampshire School of Accounting for secretarial skills. She worked for Public Service of New Hampshire for more than 35 years, before retiring in 1984. She belonged to PSNH's 25-year club. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and its Women's Guild. She loved her family, was fond of traveling and enjoyed spending time at Hampton Beach. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Jenkins; a brother, Howard Becker of Goffstown; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and cousins. Her first husband, Edward Wallace, and a brother Harold Becker died previously. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., in Manchester. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Charles Blauvelt will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester. Marjorie W. Thomson, CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Marjorie Ward Thomson, 76, died June 17 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a past resident of Great Neck, N.Y., Marblehead, Mass. and New London and Springfield, summering at Twin Lake Village for many years. After suffering a stroke in 1989, she resided with her son and family in Durango, Colo. and Corpus Christi, Texas. She was educated at the Fox Hollow School in Lenox, Mass., and the Cathedral School of St. Mary's in Garden City, N.Y. As a resident of New London and Springfield, she and her husband were former owners of the New London Bowling Center, and she was employed by King Ridge Ski Area and the M.V. Mount Sunapee II. Her interests included woodworking, equestrian pursuits and golf. She won club championships at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, Mass. and Lake Sunapee Country Club in New London. She was also a member of Oaks Hunt Club. She is survived by her son, Roger Ward Thomson of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Janet Ward Sharkey of Concord and Dorothy Ward Eden of New London; her brother, Lediard Ward of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother-in-law, George Thomson of New London; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, David and Helen Ward, her husband, Davis Scott Thomson, and her sister-in-law, Jeanne Thomson all died previously. There will be a graveside service at the Old Main Street Cemetery in New London Aug. 17 at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 3429, Corpus Christi, Texas 78463.

David Richard Cilley, FRANCESTOWN

FRANCESTOWN - David Richard Cilley, 45, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He was born in Peterborough, the son of Richard and Sylvia (Fairfield) Cilley. He also lived in Francestown for three years, Gilford for 10 years and Jacksonville, Fla., for 14 years. He attended Conant High School in Jaffrey, graduating as valedictorian of the Class of 1975. He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., in 1979. Cilley served in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard several ships, including the USCG BARK and "The Eagle," from 1979 to 1987. He was active in Boy Scouts for many years. Survivors include his father of Francestown; his stepmother, Jeri (Staak) Cilley of Francestown; a brother, Alan Cilley of Pembroke; two sisters, Valerie Morrison of Tilton and Lauren Clark of Belmont; several nieces and nephews; and aunts, uncles and cousins. His mother died in 1987. Calling hours will not be held. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Community Church in Francestown. The Rev. Melvin Burrowes, interim pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at the family's convenience. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Church, c/o Shirley Pitman, treasurer, Francestown 03043. Holt/Woodbury Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
