BELMONT - Mary Ann Sulloway, 64, formerly of Route 140, died on Jan. 25 in Lumberton Hospital in Lumberton, N.C. She was born in Franklin, the daughter of Harold and Gertrude (LaClaire) Hollins. She was raised in Franklin and lived in Canterbury for 20 years. She lived in Tilton before moving to Belmont. She had lived in North Carolina for the past six years. She was an avid collector of dolls and knick-knacks. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Sulloway of Lumberton, N.C.; three sons, Francis Dow of Mullins, S.C., Gary Dow of Hinsdale and Richard Dow of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Debbie Jean Connor of Franklin; four sisters, Carol Nadeau of Gilford, Marie Patten of Tilton, Linda Rollins of Concord and Brenda Patten of Belmont; a brother, Robert Hollins of Concord, an aunt, Hazel Boudreau of Franklin; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial reception will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia. A memorial ceremony will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Lakes Region General Hospital. George Hankins-Hull, spiritual care coordinator, will officiate. Timothy Molan is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Andrea D. Ferris

Andrea D. Ferris, 77, of Concord died yesterday at Presidential Oaks Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born in Medford, Mass., the daughter of George and Andrea (Madsen) Richardson. She moved to Concord many years ago. Ferris worked for Universal Packaging in Massachusetts, following the company when they moved to Concord. She also worked for Wikoff Inc. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Concord. She served as past Grand Noble for the Fidelity Rebekah Lodge No. 14. Survivors include a son, Thomas Ferris of Concord; a daughter, Judith Brickett of Concord; five brothers, Douglas Richardson of Sunapee, Russell Richardson of Woburn, Mass., William Richardson of Medford, Mass., Wayne Richardson of Chelmsford, Mass., and Stuart Richardson of Tewksbury, Mass.; two sisters, Ethel McCormack of Medford, Mass., and Evelyn Flaherty of Melrose, Mass.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Her husband, William Ferris, a son, Robert Ferris and a grandson, died previously. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry Fund, Wesley United Methodist Church, 79 Clinton St., Concord 03301; or the Concord Boys and Girls Club, 55 Bradley St., Concord 03301. Boutwell and Hussey-Wiren Funeral Services in Concord is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Garnett

Alice "The Famous Alice" Garnett, 89, formerly of Long Meadow Drive in Concord died Sunday at the Harris Hill Nursing Home. She was born in Concord, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Martel) Lunderville. She worked as chambermaid at the Eagle Hotel on North Main Street in Concord and later in the dietary department at Concord Hospital from 1956 until retiring in 1984. Garnett was active with WKXL party line talk show, to which she became a regular contributor to whatever the topic of the day was. She was an avid walker and was a regular in the Kiwanis Trade Fair Parade. Her husband, David Garnett, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 S. Main St., Concord. Burial will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Concord Kiwanis Club Charitable Fund, P.O. Box 939, Concord 03302-0939.

Isabelle Walker Bayley , TILTON

TILTON - Isabelle "Belle" Walker Bayley, 82, of Highland Avenue died Sunday at home after a long illness. She was born in Worchester, Mass., the daughter of John and Isabelle (Gillon) Flagg. She lived in Loudon for many years and in Concord before moving to Tilton in 1946. She attended Loudon Village School and graduated from Concord High School in 1938. She worked as an executive secretary for the Freight Traffic Division of the Boston and Maine Railroad in Concord, as a homemaker and later as secretary to the Dean of Studies at the Tilton Preparatory School, where she later became executive secretary to the headmaster, retiring in 1980 as office manager. She served as past president of the Tilton-Northfield Woman's Club and the Ladies Circle of the Northfield-Tilton Congregational Church. She was a charter member of the New England MGB Club, where she traveled with their MGS and later Miata. She was an avid card and game player, especially enjoying bridge and crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, William Bayley of Tilton; a son, Brett Bayley of San Diego; a daughter, Susan Walker Bayley of Tilton; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Jack Flagg and Norman Flagg, and two sisters, Jean Hardy and Bobbie Henba, died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Burial will be held privately. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA of Franklin, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin 03235; or the charity of one's choice. William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton is assisting with arrangements.

Lillian Levine

Lillian Levine, 92, of Concord died Friday at Pleasant View Center in Concord. She was born Leah Holzberg and raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, N.Y. She moved from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1954 and to Concord in 1992. Her first language was Yiddish, her second language was Hebrew, and she learned English at the age of 5. She worked as a Freudian analyst in the late 1940s, taught Hebrew in many Cleveland-area synagogues and taught piano. She was an early and active advocate for women's rights. She was at the forefront of the civil rights movement in New York City through the 1930s and 1940s; was an active supporter of union activity in industry and retail; was a Wobbly, or member of the International Workers of the World; was a leader in the peace movement and was a delegate from the U.S. to the Copenhagen Women's Peace Conference in 1952; and she organized the Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights communities in Ohio. She was one of the original founders of Women Speak Out for Peace and Justice. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Samuel Levine; a son, David Levine of Hopkinton; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Jonathan, died in October 2002. Memorial services will be held privately on Sunday in Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hampshire Peace Action, Women Speak Out for Peace and Justice, or the NARAL. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of the arrangements.

Beatrice A. Anderson, LACONIA

LACONIA - Beatrice A. Anderson, 92, formerly of Taylor Home Drive, died Sunday at the Congregate Living Center of the Taylor Community. She was born in New York, the daughter of Robert and Emma (Lorentzen) Furey. She lived in Bronx, N.Y., before moving to Laconia in 1985. Anderson was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Laconia. Survivors include a niece, Jessie Foley of Center Harbor; and a nephew, Robert Furey Jr. of Concord, Mass. Her husband, Michael Anderson, died in 1998; and a brother, Robert Furey, died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 876 N. Main St., Laconia. The Rev. Jonathan MacKenzie, rector of the church, will officiate. Burial will be held in the spring at the family lot in Center Harbor Memorial Park in Center Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, New Hampshire Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Ste. 427B, Concord 03301. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.

Fred Sheehan, BRADFORD

BRADFORD - Fred Sheehan, 85, of Fairgrounds Road died yesterday at the Clough Center in New London. He was born in Boston, the son of Henry and Mina (Bow) Sheehan. He lived in Bradford since 1955. He worked as a tractor trailer driver in the Boston area. Sheehan served as town crier for the Bradford Bicentennial and was known as "Freddy the Bus Driver." He was a member of the Local 25 Teamsters for 40 years and the Civilian Conservation Corps. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Isabel (Finn) Sheehan of Bradford; a son, Arthur Sheehan of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Ann Powell of Contoocook and Ruth Marden of Bradford; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Chadwick Funeral Services, 174 Main St., New London. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Main Street, New London. The Rev. Stirling MacDonald will be celebrant. Burial will be held in the spring in Sunny Plain Cemetery in Bradford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bradford Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 381, Bradford 03221.

Jack D. Watson, GILMANTON

GILMANTON - Jack D. Watson, 77, died yesterday at the Pleasant View Center in Concord after a long illness. He was born in Okay, Okla., the son of James and Allee (Crawford) Watson. He served in the Navy during World War II. He moved to Gilmanton in 1981. Watson worked as a building superintendent in Boston for 29 years and later for Barnstead Elementary School, retiring in the mid-1980s due to illness. He was a lifelong member of the Laconia VFW. He enjoyed farming, gardening and raising animals. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Loraine (Turell) Watson; two sons, John Watson of San Diego and James Lennon of Erie, Pa.; three daughters, Diane Maloney of Gilmanton, Judith Lennon of Hopedale, Mass., and Deborah Osterberg of Pepperell, Mass.; a brother; two sisters; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be held in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of the arrangements.

Arlene Parent, BELMONT

BELMONT - Arlene Parent, 88, of Mill Street died Monday at Genesis Eldercare Network Laconia Center. She was born in Gilmanton, the daughter of Lester and Alice (Gilman) Ellsworth. She was a longtime resident of Belmont. Parent worked at the Belmont Hosiery Mill for many years before retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church. Survivors include many nieces and nephews, including Mark Ellsworth of Belmont and Frank Ellsworth of Bangor, Maine. Her husband, Leon Parent, died in 1964; 11 brothers and sisters also died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Laconia. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Bowman, PELHAM

PELHAM - Alice Bowman, 81, of Mammoth Road died Sunday at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. She was born in Dorchester, Mass., the daughter of Stephen and Alice (Tolman) Bradford. She attended Dorchester School of Practical Arts in Dorchester, Mass. Bowman lived in Nashua before moving to Pelham, where she lived for 27 years. She was once affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Church in Nashua. She was a volunteer at White Wing Head Start in the 1960s. She enjoyed music and crafts. Survivors include her husband, George Bowman; six sons, George Bowman Jr. of Concord, Dennis Bowman of Brighton, Mass., Ronald Bowman and William Bowman, both of Nashua, Stephen Bowman of Goffstown and Robert Bowman of Hollis; two daughters, Linda Garside of Hudson and Cheryl Doherty of Batavia, N.Y.; two brothers, William Bradford and David Bradford, both of North Port, Fla.; a sister, Lois Delaney of North Port, Fla.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will not be held. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to Home Health and Hospice Care, 22 Prospect St., Nashua 03060. Glenda L. Lindonen, BOSCAWEN

BOSCAWEN - Glenda L. Lindonen, 84, died Monday at Merrimack County Nursing Home. She was born in Concord, the daughter of Arthur and Leola (Beers) Roby Sr. She graduated from Concord High School in 1936. Lindonen worked as a drill press operator for Hoyt Electric in Penacook for many years. She was a member of the Fidelity Rebekah Lodge No. 14, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the First Church of the Nazarene of Concord. She was an avid bowler. Survivors include a son, Walter Brown of Franklin; two stepsons, William Lindonen of Franklin and Edward Lindonen of Hampton, Va.; two stepdaughters, Mary Fife of Fort Smith, Ark., and Gertrude Carothers of Chicago; a brother, Arthur Roby Jr. of Penacook; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Robert Brown, and her second husband, Armas Lindonen, died previously. Calling hours will be held today from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. A Rebekah Service will be held during calling hours at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Ronald VandenOever, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will follow in Blossom Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen 03303.
