Claude B. Carpenter (Tim)
Claude B. Carpenter (Tim), of Mullica Twp., died Monday [Dec. 20, 1999] at home after a long illness.
A graduate of Andover High School in New York, he was employed with the State of New Jersey at Ancora and remained a member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees after retirement.
Surviving him are: his wife of 28 years, Brenda J.; his mother, Lorella Marsh, of Bronson, Texas; two sisters, Bonita Crusen, of Olean, NY, and Gloria Smith, of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Leslie Marsh, of Nashville, Tenn.; two adopted and beloved children, Charles and Pearl Casey and their children Charles and Cindy Jo of Elwood.
Services will be private at the family’s request.
Friends may donate any remembrances to Caring Hospice Services, East Gate Center, 1336 Gaither Drive, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054.

Helen M. Kolesnik
Helen M. Kolesnik, 83, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, December 22 [1999], at the Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, NJ.
Born in Winslow, Kolesnik lived in the East Kensington section of Philadelphia most of her life from 1939 to 1997, when she moved to Hammonton. Kolesnik was a member of the United Methodist Church of Winslow. She was the wife of the late Theodore Kolesnik.
Surviving her are: one daughter, Doris Fisher, of Pitman, NJ; one brother, John Stewart, of Egg Harbor Twp.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Monday, December 27, at the Landolfi Funeral Home.
Burial followed at the Winslow Methodist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Landolfi Funeral Home.

Jennie DiFrancesco (Scaltrito)
Jennie Di Francesco (Scaltrito), 88, of Brigantine, died Friday, December 24 [1999], at the residence of her daughter.
Born in Hammonton, Di Francesco lived in Brigantine for one year. She and her late husband Felix owned and operated Phil’s Spaghetti House in Atlantic City for 10 years. She then moved to California where she resided many years and enjoyed traveling with her Seniors Club. She was a member of the Walk-A-Diles club and received a plaque for achievement of 900 miles. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.
Surviving her are: a son, Vincent and his wife Cathy Di Francesco, of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Anita and her husband Ralph Hopkins, of Brigantine; two brothers, Angelo Scaltrito, of Hammonton, and Frank Scaltrito, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; five sisters, Anne Romeo, of Hammonton, Nina DeNucci, of Hammonton, Josephine Cirillo, of Hammonton, Nancy Ezzi, of Hammonton, and Lena Raffa, of Hammonton; and four grandchildren, Heather and John Hopkins, Vincent and Jenna Di Francesco.
In addition to her husband Felice, Di Francesco is predeceased by a brother, Anthony Scaltrito; a sister, Rose DeNucci; and dear friend John Raimondi.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on December 28 at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton. Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 N. Rt. 9, Swainton, NJ 08210, or the American Cancer Society, 3129 Fire Road, Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Thomas G. Pietrofitta
Thomas G. Pietrofitta, 94, of Hammonton, died Thursday, December 23 [1999], at his residence.
Born in Italy, Pietrofitta was an area resident most of his life. He was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenter Union Local #1107 of Kennel Worth, NJ.
Surviving him are: his wife Mary A. (Pitale); one son, Thomas F. Pietrofitta, of Hammontnon; two daughters, Rose Varsaci, of Hammonton, and Concetta Ordille, of Mountain Twp., Pa.; one sister, Frances Branco, of Glassboro; two grandchildren, John and Thomas Ordille and one great-grandson Kyle.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 27, at St. Joseph’s Church in Hammonton. Internment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Rd., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

John C. Kryvoruka
John C. Kryvoruka, 79, of Hammonton, died Thursday, December 23 [1999], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Chester, Pa., Kryvoruka was an area resident for 71 years. He was a retired bridge inspector and was employed by Conrail of Glassboro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was an usher for St. Joseph Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Winslow Twp. Republican Club and the VFW Post #6253 of Winslow Twp.
Surviving him are: his wife, Mary (Rodio); two sons, John Kryvoruka, of San Diego, and Kenneth Kryvoruka, of Falls Church, Va.; two daughters, Linda Carnesale, of Monmouth Beach, NJ, and Karen Treder, of Clinton, NJ; one sister, Julia Kordowski, of Elmtowne; eight grandchildren: John, Mary, Steven and Alex Kryvoruka and Mary and Katie Carnesale.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 27, at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.
Donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, 222 N. Third St., Hammonton, NJ 0037.

Joseph A. Fichetola
Joseph A. Fichetola, 69, of Hammonton, died Thursday, December 23 [1999] at his residence.
Born in Elm, Fichetola was an area resident all his life. Fichetola owned and operated Joe’s Farm Market and Garden Center in Galloway Twp. until his retirement in 1992. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post #186 of Hammonton. He was a graduate of Hammonton High School class of 1949, and a former member of the St. Joseph Booster Club.
Surviving him are: his wife Anita (Rodio); one son, Joseph Fichetola, of Absecon; one daughter, Lisa Monaco, of Hammonton; three brothers, Rocco Fichetola, of Hammonton, Ralph Fichetola, of Hammonton, and Carmen Fichetola, of Mays Landing; two sisters, Rita Dowzicky, of Hatboro, Pa., and Lucy Tidwell, of Egg Harbor; four grandchildren, Joseph A. III and Rachel Fichetola and Michael and David Monaco.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 28 at St. Joseph Church in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3129 Fire Rd., Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Anthony J. Angelo
Anthony J. Angelo Sr., 80, of Hammonton, died Saturday, December 18 [1999], at Buckingham Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Pa.
Born in Ellsworth, Pa., Angelo was a longtime resident of Philadelphia before moving to Hammonton three years ago. Angelo worked as a quality materials inspector at ITE Inc. in Philadelphia before retiring. He was a member of the United Automobile, Aerospace & Agricultural Implement Workers of America Local No. 1612. Angelo was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Richard White Memorial Post No. 925 and the V.F.W. in Philadelphia.
Surviving him are: his beloved wife, Mildred (nee Caruso); one son, Anthony J. Angelo and his wife Lisa, of Doylestown, Pa.; one daughter, Sharon Angelo, of Tinton Falls, NJ; two brothers, William Angelo, of Upper Darby, Pa., and Chris Angelo, of Lansing, Mich.; one sister, Mary Pruitt, of Darby, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial today at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton. Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

Jennie M. Merlino
Jennie M. Merlino, 80, of Hammonton, died Thursday, November 25 [1999], in West Jersey Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Hammonton, Merlino was a lifelong resident. Merlino was a butcher for Gazzara’s Meat Market in Hammonton. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Hammonton, the Children of Mary Organization in Hammonton and a former member of the St. Joseph’s School PTA.
Surviving her are: her husband of 52 years: Benjamin N. Merlino Sr., of Hammonton; one son, Benjamin N. Merlino Jr. and his wife Nora, of Parkerstown, NJ; two daughters, Louann Merlino and her companion Tom Burdak, of Atco, and Maryann Merlino and her husband Al Oriente, of Atco; one sister, Mary Capaccio, of Hammonton; four brothers, Frank Gazzara, of Hammonton, Joseph Gazzara, of Hammonton, Charles Gazzara, of Hammonton, and Matthew Gazzara, of Hammonton; and ten grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 29, at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church in Hammonton. Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
The family requests donations to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, 7701 Burholme Rd., Phila., PA 19111.
Arrangements were made by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

Mattie Bell Forrester
Mattie Bell Forrester, 88, of Hammonton, died Saturday, December 18 [1999], at Kresson View Center in Voorhees.
Born in Rocky Mount, Mont., Forrester was a resident of Hammonton for four years. Forrester was a devoted member of the Hammonton First Assembly of God Church.
Surviving her are: her daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Richard Meek, of Hammonton; one son and daughter-in-law, Harry Leroy and Essie Forrester, of Mesa, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Dan, Becki, Michael, Cindy, and Chuck; and eight great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services today at 11 a.m. at the Hammonton First Assembly of God Church in Hammonton.
Burial will follow at a later date at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, Mont.
