Felix L.Alvarado
Felix L Alvarado, 41, of Hammonton, died Friday, April 14 [2000], in Atlantic City Medical Center.
Born in Hammonton, Alvarado was a lifelong resident. Alvarado was a carpenter.
Surviving him are: his wife, Janet (nee Petkevis) Alvarado, of Hammonton; his son, Mark Alvarado, of Berlin; his mother, Maria Alvarado, of Hammonton; his father, Luis Alvarado, of Hammonton; three brothers, Edwin Alvarado, of Williamstown, Elvin Alvarado, of Atlantic City, and Paul Alvarado, of Pine Hill; two sisters, Marisol Alvarado, of Hammonton, and Annette Alvarado, of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 17, at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

Joseph S. Pino
Joseph S. Pino, 64, of Hammonton, died Friday, April 14 [2000], at Atlantic City Medical Center.
Born in Hammonton, Pino was a lifelong resident. Pino was a retired forklift driver for Whitehall Labs in Hammonton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He graduated from Hammonton High School Class of 1954 where he played three sports. He also coached Hammonton Hawks Football and Little League Baseball. He was a member of the Hammonton Social Club.
Surviving him are: his wife Agatha Ida (Merlino); one son, Joseph S. Pino Jr. and his wife Debra, of Hammonton; his daughter, Cheryl and her husband Domenic Lo Sasso; his brother, Casper Pino; two sisters, Mary Domenico and Rose Cannizzo; and two granddaughters, Rachele and Jenna Pino, of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 18, at St. Joseph’s Church in Hammonton. Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery.
Donations may be made to: St. Joseph’s Church, Third and French Streets, Hammonton, NJ 08037 or Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Rd, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Salvatore “Sam” Angello
Salvatore “Sam” Angello, 82, of Hammonton, died Monday, April 10 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Carbondale, Pa., Angello was a longtime resident of the Hammonton area. Before his retirement Angello worked as a service technician for Suburban Propane in Hammonton, and also worked as a cook for Columbia Catering in Hammonton. Angello was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Hammonton, and its Holy Name Society. He did volunteer work and frequently cooked at church functions. Angello was also a member of the St. John the Baptist Society, Knights of Columbus Pallotti Council No. 3471, both in Hammonton. He was an honorary member of the Hammonton Rescue Squad, and was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Hammonton.
Angello was predeceased by his wife, Caroline “Dolly” Angello.
Surviving him are: one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel A. Jr. and Patrizia Angello, of Hammonton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Dennis Santora, of Hammonton, and Victoria and Fred Gottschling, of Bensalem, Pa.; one brother, Angelo Angello, of Linwood; one sister, Mary Masi, of Hammonton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, April 13, at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Hammonton. Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

Marian D. Jones
Marian D. Jones, 88, of Collings Lakes, died Sunday, April 2 [2000], at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: her son, Joseph R. Jones, of Hammonton; and two grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended graveside services on Thursday, April 6.
Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

Carmella Merlino
Carmella Merlino (DeMarco), 77, of Hammonton, died Thursday, May 18 [2000], at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born in Hammonton, Merlino was an area resident all her life. She worked for Crown Pants for five years as a machine operator and Waldman Pants Factory for 10 years. She also helped on the family farm, Oakcrest Farms, until her retirement in 1983.
Surviving her are: her husband, Carmen; two sons, Carmen A. Merlino Jr. and his wife Mary Jane, of Nesco, and Anthony J. Merlino and his wife Edith, of Nesco; three brothers, Carmen DeMarco, of Hammonton, Anthony DeMarco, of Hammonton, and John DeMarco, of Nesco; three sisters, Rose Merlino, of Hammonton, Gladys Tomasella, of Hammonton, and Stella Daniello, of Hammonton; one granddaughter, Renee Wild; three grandsons, Carmen Merlino III and Anthony and Daniel Merlino; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 22, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hammonton.
Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Velma E. Small
Velma E. Small (Brill), 83, of Hammonton, died Friday, May 12 [2000], at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Quakake, Pa., Small was an area resident for more than 57 years. She was a member of and former organist for the Eastern Star Chapter #34 of Hammonton, and a member of the Hammonton Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years, serving on numerous committees. She was also a former Sunday School teacher at the church.
Surviving her are: her husband, Robert E.; one son, Douglas Small and his wife Tina, of Hammonton; one daughter, Debra Higgins and her husband Samuel, of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Myrle Giles, of Floyed, Va.; and three grandchildren, Brian J. Small, Danielle N. Small and Robert E. Small.
Relatives and friends attended services on Tuesday, May 16 at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Internment followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
Donations may be made to the Hammonton Presbyterian Church, 326 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Andrew A. Lardi
Andrew A. Lardi Jr. "Butch", 56, of Claymont, Del., died Sunday, May 14 [2000], at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Del.
Born in Hammonton, Lardi lived in Carney's Point, NJ most of his life before moving to Delaware 25 years ago. He was an iron worker for District Council of Phila., Pa. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3182 and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #847, both of Claymont, Del.
Surviving him are: his son, Andrew A. Lardi, of Alphretta, Geo.; his mother, Mildred M. Lardi (nee Esposito), of Pennsville, NJ; his sister, Carol Pettit, of Pennsville; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Thursday, May 18, at the Marinella Funeral Home in Hammonton.
Burial followed at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Pickett B. Russell Jr.
Pickett B. Russell Jr., 78, of Atsion, NJ, died Saturday, May 20 [2000], at his residence.
Born in Pine Bluff, Ark., Russell lived in the Atsion area most of his life. He was the owner of the Pic-A-Lilli Inn on Rt. 206 in Atsion. Built in 1920 by Russell's grandfather, Russell took over the family business in 1959 until the present. Russell was a lifelong member of the NJ Licensed Beverage Association and a former member of the Mt. Holly Moose Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Russell is predeceased by this late wife Florence (nee Hall) and his late son John "Buddy" Russell.
Surviving him are: his children, Pickett Ben Russell III and his wife Sandy, of Berlin, Lillian "Bonnie" Halfmann and her husband Bill, of Atsion , Wallace Russell and his wife Ginny, of Atsion, Bruce Russell and his wife Sandy, of Winslow Twp, and Donald Russell, of Atsion; and he was the loving grandfather of 14 and 6 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home at 102 N. Third St. in Hammonton.
Burial will follow at the Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to: Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.

Henry J. Knuppel
Henry J. Knuppel, 82, of Elmtowne, Winslow Twp., husband of the late Imelda (McManus), died Friday, May 12 [2000], at West Jersey Hospital Southern Division.
Born in Weehawken, NJ, Knuppel was an area resident for 10 years. He was a supervisor with Commercial Envelope Co. of Deer Park, NY for more than 40 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was a former member of the American Legion of Weehawken.
Surviving him are: one son, Thomas Knuppel, of West Windsor; one daughter, Anne Caracciolo, of Winslow, NJ; and four grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Tuesday, May 16 .
Internment and graveside services were held today at 11 a.m. at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
Arrangements were made by the Marinella Funeral Home.
