Augie Sorrentino, 89, of Elm died Saturday, February 19, 2005, at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hammonton, he was the owner of Augie’s Country House in Elm, and he formerly owned Augie’s in Hammonton. Mr. Sorrentino was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 1026, St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, and he was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3471 all in Hammonton. He was a former member of the Hammonton Exchange Club and the Elm Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving him are: wife, Rose C. Sorrentino (nee Totoro); daughter, JoAnn Sorrentino of Hammonton; brother, Paul Sorrentino and his wife Claire of Hammonton; sisters, Jennie Santilli and her husband Angelo of Smithville, Lena Balsama and her husband Sal of Hammonton; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial today at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital Building Fund, 11 S. Third St., Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Peter A. Mauriello, 67, of Waterford died Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Virtua Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Waterford, he was a lifelong resident. Pete was a self-employed roofing and siding contractor retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Weekstown Gunning Club. Pete played semi-pro football for the Berlin Bears and the Hammonton Bakers. He also enjoyed golf and bowling.
Surviving him are: wife, Nancy (nee Maccarella); son, Paul of Waterford; daughters, Linda Ludovich and her husband Richard of Waterford, Sharon of Galloway Township; brother, Larry and his wife Dot, Paul and his wife Janet all of Waterford; granddaughters, Jacqueline, Danielle Ludovich.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on February 21 at St. Anthony Church in Waterford followed by entombment in Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
Donations may be made to the St. Joseph High School Building Fund, 328 Vine Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Terence M. Schultz, 40, of Mays Landing died Monday, February 14, 2005.
Born in Vineland, he was a resident of Mays Landing for the past 10 years. Mr. Schultz worked as a bindery supervisor for PrintArt in Egg Harbor Twp. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the American Bowling Association. He was also a member of the Mays Landing United Methodist Church.
Predeceased by: father, Wilbur E. Schultz. Surviving him are: wife, Brenda J. Schultz (nee Ceci); sons, Chris, Anthony, James all of Mays Landing; mother, Barbara Schultz of Woodbury; several aunts, uncles, cousins.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, February 19 at the Carnesale Funeral Home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Marie G. Frank (nee Rodio), 73, of Rosedale died Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at home.
Born in Rosedale, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Frank was a bookkeeper for J.C. Miller in Northfield. Mrs. Frank donated her time to the Good Samaritan Center by baking cookies for them. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: husband, Anthony J. Frank; son, Dr. Tony DiFrancesco of Lake Ridge, Va.; daughters, Sharon White and her husband Steve of Collegeville, Pa. and their children: Stephanie, Shaun and Tina Casadia and her husband Louis of Hammonton and their son Louis Jr.; sisters, Anita Fichetola of Hammonton, Jean Woelfel of Rosedale; brother, Joseph Rodio of Rosedale.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on February 19 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph’s Convent, 219 N. Third St., Hammonton, NJ 08037 or give to a person in need and make a difference in their lives. This is what Marie did everyday of her life.

Robert Gordon Hughes Jr., 61, of Hammonton died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at home.
Born in Teaneck, he lived in Hammonton for the past 38 years. He owned and operated Robert Hughes Landscaping for 43 years and the past 17 in Hammonton. He was a member of the South Jersey Landscaping Association, South Jersey Street Rod and former vice president of the Cruisin’ Classic Cars. Robert was an avid sponsor of Buddy Ball.
Surviving him are: wife, Ann (nee Demetrious); children, Bobby, Brian Hughes, Dawn Fatcher and her husband Kenneth of Hammonton, Tina Guzman and her husband Louie of Buena; father, Robert Gordon Hughes Sr.; brothers, Jimmy Hughes, Danny Hughes of New York; sisters, Judy Hasbrouck of New York, Margie O’Mally of Ft. Lee; grandchildren, Brian Hughes Jr., Bobby Hughes Jr., Ashlee Hughes, Kenneth Fatcher Jr., Kristina Fatcher, Jennifer, Jessica, Jamiee, Julie Guzman.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, March 12 at the Hammonton Assembly of God Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Ruth Erwin, 58, of Vineland died Thursday, March 10, 2005, in South Jersey Health Care Center in Vineland.
Mrs. Erwin was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Newtonville.
Surviving her are: husband, Benjamin Erwin; nephew, Jonathan Deal of Vineland; brothers, Eugene Deal of Mays Landing, Joseph Deal of Cape May; sisters, Thema Hines of Staten Island, Gloria Deal of Minotola, Florence Urgent of Egg Harbor Township, Ester Deal, Barbara Thomas, Annie Stevenson all of Weymouth, Juliette Deal of Hammonton, Gatha Williams of Tennessee; godchildren, Kevin Waiters, Jasmine Waiters, Stephanie Waiters all of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, March 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral services being held at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Route 54, Newtonville. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery.

Cecelia Miller (nee Trauner), 93, of Hammonton died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Jersey City, she lived in Hammonton for many years. Cecelia was a member of the Hammonton Presbyterian Church.
Pre-deceased by: brother, Theodore J. Trauner. Surviving her are: stepdaughter, Doris Miller McCammond of Andover; niece, Doris Trauner; nephew, Theodore J. Trauner Jr.; three grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Friday, March 11 at Marinella Funeral Home followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations may be made in memory of Cecelia to the Hammonton Presbyterian Church, 326 Bellevue Avenue, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Celeste J. Nilson (nee Carpo), 46, of Hammonton died Friday, March 11, 2005, at home.
Born in Hammonton she was a lifelong area resident.
Surviving her are: husband, Paul A. Nilson Sr.; daughters, Jennifer Nilson, Megan Nilson both of Hammonton; son, Brian Nilson of Hammonton; stepchildren, Paul A. Nilson Jr., of Millville, Patty Nilson of Medford, Mass.; brothers, Richard Carpo, Louis Carpo both of Hammonton; sisters, Charmiane Hesse of Egg Harbor Township, Louann Jones, Anna Russell both of Hammonton, Kathy Crespo of Buena, Jackie Carpo-Harmon of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Virginia D. Nilson of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 14 at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Martha Holmes, 86, of Hammonton died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Greenbriar Nursing Center.
Born in Salisbury, N.C., she lived in Newark before moving to southern New Jersey. She was an assembly line worker for General Instrument of Newark.
Surviving her are: sister, Mamie Ward of Rahway; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended services on March 9 at the Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton.

Anna Rita Furgione (nee DiPietro), 88, of Hammonton died August 29, 2005, at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Egg Harbor City, she had been a resident of Hammonton since 1945. During her lifetime, Anna worked in several clothing companies including Pennbrook, Aggressive Coat Company and National Garment where she retired as a seamstress. She was a member of the Republican Club and Hammonton Senior Citizens. Beyond all else, Anna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was at her happiest when she had a dining room full of family and friends. She regularly had an open house every year during the July 16th Our Lady of Mt. Carmel celebration. Her sons and granddaughter always had friends at her house, and no one ever left hungry. She especially enjoyed summer vacations in Wildwood Crest when she continued dishing up remarkable meals for her extended family.
Predeceased by: parents, Dominick and Mary DiPietro; brother, Louis. Surviving her are: her husband of 59 years, John; sons, John and his wife Ann of Medford, Robert and his wife Patricia of Hammonton; sister, Elizabeth Gries of Egg Harbor City; granddaughter, Lauren Furgione; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on September 2 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family as asked that donations be made to a scholarship in her name for a Hammonton High Shool graduate intending to pursue a career in nursing. Donations may be sent to the Anna Furgione Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Commerce Bank, 195 Tuckerton Road, Medford, NJ 08055.

Angelina Pino Conover, 94, of Townsend, Del., formerly of Hammonton died September 4, 2005, at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del.
Born in Hammonton, she moved to Winter Haven, Fla. in 1967 and lived in Townsend since 1984. A clothing operator, she retired from the M. Waldman Clothing Company in Hammonton in 1950. In her younger years, Mrs. Conover’s interests were motorcycles and airplanes, and she loved working in her garden.
Surviving her are: husband, Joseph M. Conover, daughter, Jeanne C. Adams and her husband Jack of Newark, Del; brothers, Samuel Pino and his wife Mildred of Hammonton, Paul Pino of Ocean City, N.J.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services today at 2 p.m. at the Batsto Pleasant Mills Cemetery, Pleasant Mills, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to any organization to help the Katrina hurricane victims.
