Bruce J. Ruggerio, 49, of Vineland and formerly of Hammonton died August 19, 2004 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Born in Mt. Holly, he was an area resident all his life. Bruce was co-founder of Foresight Optical and owner/operator of the Vineland store for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Opticians Association of New Jersey, North Italy Club of Vineland, Italian-American Benevolent Association, Sicilian American Club.
Predeceased by father, Anthony. Surviving him are: wife, Mary; sons, Anthony, Paul both of Hammonton; mother, Phyllis (nee Ferrante) of Elm; brother, Roy and his wife Lee Anne of Hammonton; sister, Patricia Markham and her husband Howard of Palmyra, Va.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 23 at St. Martin de Porres Church followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1200 N. High Street, Millville, NJ 08332.

Luz Elenia Baez, 53, of Mays Landing died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Atlantic City Medical Center – Mainland Division in Pomona.
Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she lived in this area for many years. She was a nurse’s aide for Meadowview Nursing Home in Northfield.
Predeceased by: son, Edgar Baez. Surviving her are: husband, Modesto Baez; father, Osvaldo Quinones Sr. of Hammonton; children, Yvette Gonzales of Puerto Rico, Nelly Cruz-Stokes of Camden, Benji Baez of Waterford Works, Maritza Baez, Melinda Baez both of Mays Landing; brother, Oswaldo Quinones Jr. of Hammonton; sister, Maria Cruz of Egg Harbor; nine grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 20 at St. Nicholas R.C. Church in Egg Harbor followed by burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Dolly Oliva, 83, of Hammonton died Monday, August 16, 2004 at home.
Born in Winslow, she was a lifelong southern New Jersey resident. Mrs. Oliva worked for several different clothing manufacturing companies in Hammonton. She was a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Surviving her are: husband, Joseph P. Oliva of Hammonton; sister, Sarah DeCicco of Hammonton; brother-in-law, Peter Berenato; sisters-in-law, Katherine Siligato of Berlin, Sadie Bello of Minotola; nephew, John Oliva of Hammonton; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 20 at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church followed by entombment in Greenmount Cemetery.

Kristalee Montemurro, 30, of Folsom died August 25, 2004 in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a Hammonton/Mullica Township area resident her entire life. She worked for 10 years as a registered nurse for the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Surviving her are: husband, Kevin Montemurro; sons, Adam C. Montemurro, Andrew C. Montemurro both at home; mother and stepfather, Lorraine and Jimmy Kimbrell of Bensalem; father, Anthony Cerrone of Sweetwater; brother, David King of Philadelphia; mother-in-law and her fiancé, Diane Montemurro and John McAroy of Hammonton; father-in-law, Irving Rodriguez of Hammonton; grandmother, Theresa Riess of Hammonton; grandfather, Kostanty Voychuck of Tabernacle.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services Monday, August 30 at Victory Bible Church followed by entombment at Greenmount Cemetery.

Peter A. Rubba Sr., 84, of Hammonton died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at Virtua Health Center in Marlton.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Rubba was a self-employed building contractor. He also was employed by the Pennsylvania Reading Railroad in the 1950s, the Atlantic City Expressway in the 1960s, and the Sands Hotel Casino in Atlantic City in the 1980s and 1990s. He was a former member and president of the Hammonton School Board of Education in the 1960s and also a member of the Hammonton Kiwanis Club in the 1970s. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Surviving him are: sons, Dr. Peter A. Rubba Jr. and his wife Susan of State College, Pa., Joel A. Rubba and his wife Marianne of Marlton; daughter, Dorian Aronson of Florida; sisters, Marie Maiuro, Delores Rubba; sister-in-law, Rose F. Rubba, all of Hammonton; grandchildren, Jane, David, Matthew, Allison Rubba, Claudette, Nolan Jr. Aronson; two great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Drue P. Harter, 87, of Hammonton died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton.
Born in Slocum Township, Pa., he was a resident of Hammonton for 16 years. Mr. Harter served 20 years in the United States Air Force serving as a flight crew chief. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. Mr. Harter also worked as a quality control specialist for Grumman Aircraft on Long Beach Island. At Grumman Aircraft he was a member of the Lunar Module Program of Project Apollo, which participated in the national effort to land American astronauts on the moon.
Surviving him are: wife, Annette L. Harter; daughter, Edith I. Cleveland of Galloway Township; sister, Irene Thomas of Wapwallopen, Pa.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Saturday, August 28 at Carnesale Funeral Home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua. R.C. Church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Catherine P. “Millie” Maffei (nee Piason), 87, of Winslow died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland.
Born in Winslow, she was a lifelong resident there. Mrs. Maffei was formerly the bingo chairwoman for the Winslow Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Predeceased by: husband, Mario Maffei, grandson, Brian Bowman. Surviving her are: son, Raymond Maffei and his wife Suzanne of Winslow; daughter, Marion “Chickie” Bowman and her husband Louie of Winslow; grandchildren, Pamela McCredy, Kevin Maffei, Demaris “Buffy” Sciblo, Ryan Maffei, Louis Bowman Jr., Michael Bowman; great-grandchildren, Blyss, Dana, Allison, Dean, Carlie, Liam, Thomas, Katelyn; sisters, Clara Maffei, Madelyn Piscitelli, Dessie DeFeo, Antoinette Christopher, Delores Munson, Sylvia Olivo; brother, Carmen Piason.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on August 7 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton.

Charles E. Maurer, 75, of Hammonton died Friday, August 20, 2004 at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. Mr. Maurer was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Before retiring, he worked as a receiving clerk for Shop Rite in Pennsauken and Acme Supermarket in Egg Harbor. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Worker’s Union.
Surviving him are: wife, Anna E. Maurer (nee Murray); son, Charles G. Maurer; daughter, Wendy Vandervort and her husband James J. III; grandchildren, Virginia R. Vandervort, James J. Vandervort IV all of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services August 23 at the Carnesale Funeral Home followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Ruth E. Morano (nee Lerner), 73, of Hammonton died Friday, August 27, 2004 at her daughter’s residence.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Ruth enjoyed ceramics, porcelain dolls, and attending high school football games.
Surviving her are: husband, Rocco; son, James Morano Sr. and his wife Susan of Somerset; daughter, Judy Domenico and her husband Frank of Hammonton; grandchildren, Bianca Hermann and her husband Mark, April Domenico, Keena York and her husband Tim, James Morano II and his wife Jessica; sisters, Jean Andrew of Coxsackie, N.Y., Helen Ehrke of Rouse Pt., N.Y.; brother, Edward Lerner of Hammonton.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 31 at St. Martin de Porres Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Ellen Ross (nee Jordan), 93, of Hammonton died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, she was an area resident the past 10 years.
Predeceased by husband, Paul. Surviving her are: daughter, Theresa Faulds; son, Timothy J. Ross and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Theresa Quinn, Antoinette Fromm, Dominick Veneziano, Eleen Pelfrey, Rosie Faulds, Anthony Ross, Kim Hagaman, Diana Eskridge, Kelly Ross; many great-grandchildren; and always in the heart of Angie Picarella.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services August 28 at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Epifanio Jesus Torres, 78, of Hammonton died Friday, August 20, 2004 at Atlantic City Medical Center City Division.
Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he lived in Hammonton for nine years. Mr. Torres worked as a farmer in the Dominican Republic.
Surviving him are: wife, Alicia Torres; sons, Bienvenido Torres and his wife Candida, Juan Jose Torres and his wife Luisa; daughter, Alejandrina Estevez and her husband Ysai; grandchildren, Silvania Markantonis, Adalgisa Estevez, Sammy Tavares, Joel Estevez, Angelli Torres, Angellin Torres, Lisi Torres, Anaomi Torres; great-granddaughter, Georgette Markantonis; seven brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 24 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by entombment in Greenmount Cemetery.

Martha Augusta Johnson Gordon, 92, died, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Born July 1, 1912 in Bethlehem, Pa. to Sydney Johnson and Jenny Lind Andrews Johnson. Due to her mother’s early death, she was initially cared for by her grandparents, Lewis and Augusta Andrews, and then jointly by her aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. J.C. Bitler of Hammonton, and her father and stepmother, Viola Remely Johnson of Bethlehem. The family attended the Methodist Church and she was a 1929 graduate of Hammonton High School, and a graduate of Moravian College.
Predeceased by husband, Donald Collingwood Gordon. Surviving her are: daughter, Barbara Lind Giesler and her husband John of Winston-Salem, N.C.; son, Donald Collingswood Gordon Jr. and his wife Joleen of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; sister, Ellen Dannenberger and her husband Arthur of York, Pa.; six grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous other family members in the United States and England.
She was buried with her husband in Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, N.J. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Salemtowne, The Moravian Retirement Community, 100 Salemtowne Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.

Edward Wells, 80, of Collings Lakes died Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Hammonton.
Born in Ocean City, he lived in Collings Lakes since 1956. He worked for Jessie Morie Sand & Gravel in Winslow. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Predeceased by: parents, Samuel and Ella Wells. Surviving him are: niece, Frances Leslie of Collings Lakes.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services Wednesday, August 25 at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by burial at Our Lady of Victories Cemetery in Landisville.

Mickelina Mangino, 76, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at home.
Born in Camden, she was a lifelong southern New Jersey resident. Mrs. Mangino was a retired inspector for RCA in Camden.
Predeceased by: husband, Antonio J. Mangino. Surviving her are: sons, Rocco A. Mangino of Shamong, John Mangino of Sewell; daughters, Lucia Mangino of Lake Forest, Calif., Anna Chisholm of Bellmawr; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 20 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
