Holloway, Clara A.
(nee Meisenhelder) On April 11, 2006, age 81, of Medford, formerly a long time Haddonfield resident and the beloved wife of Frederick (Fritz). Mrs. Holloway is the mother of Walter Reinhard, of Cinnaminson, mother to twin daughters, Gerri Henry and Jackie Moore, of Runnemede, Richard Reinhard, of Runnemede, and Robin Gillespie, of Denver, CO. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kim, Eric, Scott, Brian and Steve, and 5 great grandchildren, Ian, Cole, Evan, Kelly, and Hayley. Family and friends are invited to Services, Saturday, 1PM, at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, West End Ave. at Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. Interment private. Memorial donations in Mrs. Holloway’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Kuhns, Suzanne
(nee Black) On April 10, 2006, age 67, a Haddonfield resident for over 40 years and the beloved wife of Gene H. Mrs. Kuhns is the mother of Sandra Lee Brosious, of Stratford and Stephen W. Kuhns, of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley and a sister, Nanette Sharp, of Warminster, PA. Mrs. Kuhns was a 1956 graduate of Glassboro High School. Following graduation, she went to Pierce Business School. Mrs. Kuhns’ family will receive friends, Saturday morning after 10AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, West End Ave. at Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. Services will follow at 11AM. Interment, Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery.

FARR, WILLIAM "BILL" RAYMOND
Age 86, of Medford, NJ, died peacefully on April 7, 2006. Beloved husband of 44 years to Laura, devoted father of William Jr. "Joe" and wife Jackie of Check, VA, Rob and wife Kathy of Arlington, VA, and Dick and wife Sue of Northfield, NJ, Bill was also blessed with 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Son of Raymond and Anna, he is survived by sister Margaret Kleinschmidt, and predeceased by sister Grace Shissler and brother Lincoln.
A graduate of Haddon Heights High 1936 and later Temple Law, Bill began as a legal secretary for, and later law partner with, the late Roy Cobbin. He continued in the legal profession for 48 years, retiring in 1985 as senior partner in the law firm of Farr, Reifsteck and Wolf in Haddon Heights. He was well respected in his field, and was at times Solicitor for the Boroughs of Barrington and Haddon Heights.
After retirement he and Laura traveled the world with a particular interest in ancient Middle Eastern sites. He as well loved golfing with his buddies at Tavistock, where he was a caddy as a boy, and then a member for over 40 years. He also read and studied, particularly history, endlessly and loved time with extended family.
A devoted student of local history, he organized the Barrington Historical Society and was active in the Camden County Historical Society. Bill authored "Place Names In and About Haddonfield", "Waterways of Camden County" and a forthcoming book on the mills of Camden County.
Bill’s life changed forever when his beloved Laura came into his, and his son’s, lives. He became a Quaker when in his 50s and served as trustee, as well as a leader in the local Friends community. We will forever miss his wit and his wisdom.
A memorial service will be held at the Haddonfield Friends Meeting on Friends Ave on Saturday 4/15 at 2:00pm. Contributions in lieu of flowers in Bill’s memory may be made to the American Friends Service Committee (www.afsc.org).

Hitchens, Janet
(nee Carrico), age 77, a Haddonfield resident for over forty years and wife of William H. Mrs. Hitchens is the mother of Diane W. Stahl (John), of Voorhees, Holly Caccia (Michael), of Laurel Springs, Barbara H. Green (Scott ), of Wilmington, DE and Jacquelyn H. Ludlam (Jeffrey), of Haddon Twp. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Gretchen, Rebecca, Caroline, Lindsay, Ellen, Barbara and Jeffrey, 1 great grandchild, A.J., and a brother, John G. Carrico, Jr., of Derwood, MD. Mrs. Hitchens attended Western Maryland College and Salisbury State Teachers College. Her career as a math teacher was sidetracked when she met, married and began her family with her husband, Bill. Mrs. Hitchens was also a long time member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, the Haddon Fortnightly, the Haddonfield 40 Club and an avid bridge player. Her family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:30- 10:45 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave. at Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. Her Memorial Service will follow at 11AM. Interment private. Memorial donations in Mrs. Hitchens name may be made to the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, Capital Fund, 29 Warwick RD., Haddonfield, NJ 08033.

Sluzalis, Norman S.
On March 25, 2006, age 76, of Westmont, NJ, brother of Florence A. LaPlaca of Audubon and uncle of Sean and Karen Sluzalis.Mr. Sluzalis served Camden County in several capacities.He was an Arbitration Administrator, Court Clerk and worked for the Sheriff's Department.Additionally, he worked as an Expeditor at RCA.Mr. Sluzalis' family will receive friends on Thursday Eve. 7-9 PM and on Friday 9:15-10:15 AM at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield.His Funeral Mass will follow on Friday, 11 AM, at Holy Maternity Catholic Church, 431 W. Nicholson Rd., Audubon, NJ. Interment, New St. Mary's Cem., Bellmawr, NJ.

Gauntt, Olive Elizabeth “Bettie”
(nee Souder) On March 22, 2006, age 84, longtime resident of Haddonfield and beloved wife of Robert I. Also survived by 1 son, Robert R. (Toniann A.) of Cherry Hill, 1 daughter, Barbara Jo VanDeusen (David P.) of South Windsor, CT, 1 daughter-in-law, Susan Mattson of Franklinville, 8 grandchildren, Evan Robert and Lisa Elizabeth Gauntt, Daniel Robert and Phillip Richard VanDeusen, LeLanie Ann Rodgers (Stephen), Christine Ann, Dana Ann and John Anthony Taulane, 3 great grandchildren, Kelly, Stephen and Ryan Rodgers and 2 sisters, Eleanor Fleischman (Augustine) of Apollo Beach, FL and Marion Hartmann (John) of Poughkeepsie, NY. Bettie graduated from Pitman HS and Glassboro State College (Rowan Univ.) in 1942. She began teaching in the Haddonfield School system that year. After 9 years, she left teaching to raise her family. She returned to teaching in Haddonfield from 1965 until retiring in 1984. Bettie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield for over 57 years. She served on the Board of Deacons, taught Sunday School and supervised the Sunday elementary grade classes during that time. She was also a member of the local P.E.O. chapter, which she thoroughly enjoyed and served as Treasurer for 5 years. Additionally, she was a member of the Haddonfield Fortnightly Club and the Christian Endeavor Ladies Board of which she was it’s former Treasurer and coordinated the Wildwood Fresh Air Home’s summer program. Bettie was a 25 year American Red Cross blood bank volunteer, receiving that organization’s annual volunteer of the year award in 2005. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all. Bettie’s family and friends are invited to her Memorial Service, Saturday, 1 PM, in the Sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, 20 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 08033; where her family will receive friends following the service in the church’s parlor. Interment private. Memorial donations in Bettie’s name may be made to the church at the above address or to the Program for Continuing Education (PEO), 1372 Bunker Hill Dr., Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.

Holloway, William E.
On March 19, 2006, a Haddonfield resident for over 50 years and the beloved husband of Bernice (nee Firth). Mr. Holloway is also survived by 2 sisters, Winifred Keys, of Mt. Laurel, Jane Day, of Philadelphia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Holloway was an Army Veteran of WWII in the Financial Corps. He attended Wake Forest University and went on to work for 45 years as an administrative executive of KAMAN Technologies. Mr. Holloway had also been a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Haddonfield and attended the Haddonfield United Methodist Church. Additionally, he was a longtime member of American Legion Post # 38 in Haddonfield. The family will receive friends, Friday, 10AM, at Kain Murphy Funeral Home, West End Ave. at Kings Hwy., Haddonfield. Services will follow at 11 AM. Interment Haddonfield Methodist Cemetery. Memorial donations in Mr. Holloway’s name may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 150 N. Ninth Ave., PO Box 250, Runnemede, NJ 08078 or the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
