SMITH, Carlene
Carlene T. Smith, a resident of Haddonfield, died suddenly on August 3, 2006, aged 40.
Survivors: mother Elaine Swiderski, and step-father Joseph Mandeville, of Hacienda Heights CA; sister Suzanne Jones (Barry) of Haddonfield and their children, Kristina and Blake; step-brother Joey Mandeville of Hacienda Heights; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Swiderski of Burlington.
Family Visitation: Tuesday, August 8 after 10am at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services.
Funeral Service: 11am.
Interment: Laurel Hill Cemetery, Burlington City.

AXNER, John Jr
John A. Axner, Jr, a resident of Cherry Hill, formerly of Haddonfield, died on September 11, 2006, aged 83.
Survivors: wife Carolyn (nee Stevens); sons John A. III (Luecrisha), of Medford and G. Steven (Diane), of Tabernacle; daughter Lisa A. DeGraffenreid, of Medford; 2 grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren, 1 great-stepgrandchild; sisters Gladys Kish of Ft. Smith AK, Alma Renne of Westmont, and Elise DePaul of Ocean City.
Mr. Axner was a veteran of WWII, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. He saw action in France and Belgium and jumped in the “Rhineland Operation.” A Mason, Mr. Axner belonged to Audubon Parkside Lodge #218 F & A. M. for 50 years. He also belonged to the Collingswood “Old Grads,” with whom he loved to play golf. Mr. Axner sold industrial steel for many years and formed his own company in the 1980’s.
Family Visitation: Saturday, September 16 after 11am, in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, 20 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield.
Memorial Service: 12n.
Interment: Private (Cold Spring Veterans Cemetery).
Memorial Donations: Coriell Institute for Medical Research, 401 Haddon Avenue, Camden NJ 08103.
Arrangements: Kain-Murphy Funeral Services.

SMITH, G. Andrew
G. Andrew Smith, of Lancaster PA, formerly of Haddonfield, died on December 3, 2006, aged 46.
Survivors: parents, Gerald and Judith Smith, of Mountville PA; brother, Peter, of West Conshohocken PA; sister, Susan Beriau, of Brandon VT.
Mr. Smith was a 1978 graduate of Haddonfield High School.
Services: Private.
Memorial Donations: The Milagro House, 669 W. Chestnut Street, Lancaster PA 17603.
Arrangements: Kain-Murphy Funeral Services.

Richard Haines ("Dick") Hineline
Richard Haines ("Dick") Hineline, a resident of Haddonfield for 57 years, died on December 24, 2006, aged 87. He was the husband of the late Esther (nee Minot).
Mr. Hineline served in the US Army in World War II. He was president of Camden Lime Company and the Voorhees-based Atlas Building Systems, and served as a director of Smith-Austermuhl Company and Fessenden Hall Inc. He also served as president of the Flexicore Manufacturers Association.
Mr. Hineline was the first chairman of the Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission and was a member of the Rotary Club of Camden and Tavistock Country Club. A 33rd degree Mason, he belonged to several local lodges. A lifelong sportsman, he was secretary-treasurer of the Atlantic County Game Preserve.
Survivors: sons, Richard H. Jr. (Sandra D.) of Bluffton SC and David M. (Cynthia)of Mays Landing; daughter, Susan H. Donaldson (Robert P.) of Shamong; 6 grandchildren; brother, F. Budd Hineline Jr. of Philadelphia; sister, Judith H. Johnson of St. Louis MO.
Funeral Service: Thursday, December 28 at 2pm at Grace Church, 19 Kings Highway E. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorial Donations: Grace Church, 19 Kings Highway E., Haddonfield NJ 08033 (Mr. Hineline was a longtime member); or Camden County Historical Society, PO Box 378, Collingswood NJ 08108-0378 (he was a past president and longtime member.
Arrangements: Kain-Murphy Funeral Services.

BETZ, Wayne
Wayne O. Betz, a resident of Haddonfield, died on June 12, 2007, aged 65.
Survivors: wife, Gretchen M.; son, Darren of Houston TX; daughters, Michelle Morris (Garrett) of Akron OH and Amy Smith (Dean) of London UK; brother, Ray (Mary) of Alliance OH; sister, Ruth Watterson (Bob) of Akron OH; 6 grandchildren.
Mr. Betz graduated from Ohio State University in 1963. He played defensive tackle on the team that won the national championship in 1962. He was with Rohm and Haas in Philadelphia PA for more than 35 years, retiring in 1999.
Services and Interment: Private.

ROMMEL, Mary Jane
Mary Jane Rommel (nee Munley) of South Yarmouth MA and Ocean City NJ, died on September 8, 2008, aged 79.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William F.; her daughter, Claudia Ann Knott (Ralph) of Newton PA; her son, RIck of South Yarmouth MA; her granddaughter, Alexa Smith of Burlington; 2 sisters and their husbands, Nancy Underwood of Etowah NC and June Leyendecker of Haddonfield; 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Service: Friends of the Rommels will be received after 10 a.m. at Kain-Murphy Funeral Services, where her service will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment: Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
Memorial Donations: The American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
Arrangements: KAIN-MURPHY.

SCOCCA, Florence R.
Florence R. Scocca (nee Smith), a resident of Voorhees, died on January 17, 2009, aged 72.
Mrs. Scocca was a co-owner of Quicky Signs (Haddon Avenue N and Woodland Avenue) in Haddonfield.
She was the widow of the late Armand Scocca. Survivors include her brother, Edward M. Smith, and his wife Maria, of Quicky Signs.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 22 from 9 to 11am at Saint Andrew the Apostle Church, 120 United States Avenue, Gibbsboro. The funeral will follow at 11am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial donations in Mrs. Scocca's name may be sent to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Southern NJ Chapter, 528 Fellowship Road, Suite B, Mount Laurel NJ 08054.
