Lillie M. Edwards

ROSWELL - Graveside services for Lillie Mae Edwards of Gerber, Calif., formerly of Tatum, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at South Park Cemetery in Roswell. Services are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory of Roswell.

Mrs. Edwards, 83, died Wednesday, July 11, in Red Bluff, Calif. She was born May 10, 1918, in Oklahoma.

Mrs. Edwards had lived in the Gerber area for the last 45 years. She was a housewife and a collector of blue glass.

She is survived by three brothers, Howard, Kenneth and Charles McPhail, all of Red Bluff; four sisters, Thursey Boles of Kiowa, Okla., Velma Farmer and Bessie Walden, both of Gerber, and Nellie Snelson of Chico, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Edwards; one daughter, Mary Solado; and two brothers, Roy and George McPhail.

Alfred Fagan

Services for Alfred Fagan of Hobbs are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Fagan, 67, died Friday, July 13, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born March 25, 1934.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Fagan, of the home.

Madeline Linton

Services for Madeline Linton of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at St. Helena Catholic Church. The Rev. Jose Reyes will officiate. Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial will occur at Live Oak Memorial Park in Crestview, Fla.

Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the funeral home.

A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Linton, 77, died Thursday, July 12, at Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Ecles, W.Va.

Mrs. Linton worked as a licensed practical nurse for Hillcrest Nursing Home for 20 years. She moved to Hobbs from Clovis in 1995. She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Linton of Defuniak Springs, Fla., and Jack Linton of Crestview; two daughters, Vickie Mazerat of Crestview and Sherry Linton of Hobbs; one brother, Cecil Eskins of Hamilton, Ohio; one sister, Georgia Allread of Vonore, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Linton was preceded in death by her husband, John Linton; three sons, Guy, David and Cecil Linton; three sisters, Madge Brown and Kathleen and Thelma Eskins; and four brothers, Christopher, Carl, Bill and Clifford Eskins.

Ashok Patel

Services for Ashok Patel of Hobbs are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Patel, 43, died Saturday, July 14, in Hobbs. He was born Oct. 15, 1957.

He is survived by his wife, Dharmista Patel, of the home.

Christopher R. Teague

ALBUQUERQUE - Services for Christopher Ross Teague of Albuquerque will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.

He will lie in state from 1-8 p.m. today and from 8-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Teague, 28, died Wednesday, July 11, in Albuquerque. He was born Nov. 8, 1972, in Bossier City, La.

Mr. Teague attended school in Hobbs and the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell. He lived and worked in Albuquerque as a salesman for Valley Welders and Supply.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Teague of Mesilla Park; his father, Robert Teague Jr. of Hobbs; and one sister, Kelly Gray of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Teague Sr.; and one uncle.

Anne M. Patterson

Services for Anne Marie Patterson of Hobbs will be held at 1 p.m. today at First Church of the Nazarene.

Ms. Patterson, 71, died Wednesday, July 11, in Hobbs. She was born June 24, 1930, in Paterson, N.J.

She was a retired nurse and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Francine Perry; one son, Cliff Patterson; four grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Ms. Patterson was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a nurse to lunch.

Christopher R. Teague

Services for Christopher Ross Teague of Albuquerque are pending with Griffin Funeral Home.

Mr. Teague, 28, died Wednesday, July 11, in Albuquerque. He was born Nov. 8, 1972, in Bossier City, La.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Teague of Messilla Park; his father, Robert Teague Jr. of Hobbs; and one sister, Kelly Gray of Arkansas.

Guadalupe Escobar Jr.

LOVINGTON - Graveside services for Guadalupe "Joker" Escobar Jr. of Lovington will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Lovington Cemetery. The Rev. Bill McCann will officiate. Services are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Escobar, 24, died Tuesday, July 10, in Clovis. He was born Nov. 12, 1976, in Del Rio, Texas, to Guadalupe and Olga Escobar. He married Melissa D'Lyn Green on April 8, 1997, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He was working as a roofer at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Jasmine Escobar; and one stepdaughter, Courtni Asebedo, all of the home; one daughter, Angel Escobar of Hobbs; one son, Anthony Quilimaco of Midland; his mother and stepfather, Albert "Globo" Campos, both of Denver; four brothers, Andrew Torrez, Randy Campos, Albert Campos Jr. and Paz Campos, all of Denver; five sisters, Regina Torrez, Sonia Campos, Nora Roman, Lena Montez and Candy Campos, all of Denver; his maternal grandfather, Albino Sainz of Lovington; and 37 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Escobar was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gracie Sainz.

Helen Krause Perkins

Services for Helen Krause Perkins of Hobbs will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. Carol Tuck, Jack Lott and Chuck Farina will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

She will lie in state from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. today and from 8-8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Krause Perkins, 70, died Monday, July 9, in Hobbs. She was born March 18, 1931, in Hobbs. She married L.C. Perkins Jr. on Aug. 4, 1954, in Hobbs.

Mrs. Krause Perkins graduated from Hobbs High School. She was the postmistress of the Monument Post Office. She enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. She was a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the U.S.

She is survived by her husband of the home; one sister, Freida Maye Crawford of Las Vegas, Nev.; one uncle; two cousins; and several nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Rubye Mae Garner Krause; her maternal grandparents; and two uncles.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or First United Methodist Church in Hobbs.

Anne M. Patterson

Services for Anne Marie Patterson of Hobbs will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at First Church of the Nazarene.

Ms. Patterson, 71, died Wednesday, July 11, in Hobbs. She was born June 24, 1930, in Paterson, N.J.

Roberta Bradberry Wright

Graveside services for Roberta Bradberry Wright of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. today at Eunice Cemetery. The Rev. Keeney Dickenson will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bradberry Wright, 93, died Tuesday, July 10, at Country Cottage in Hobbs. She was born Dec. 6, 1907, in Spur, Texas. She married Glen Wright.

Mrs. Bradberry Wright has lived in the Hobbs area since 1933. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Eunice. She also worked in the school cafeteria in Eunice for more than 25 years.

She is survived by one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984; and one brother, Clifford Bradberry.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Estevan C. Florez

Services for Estevan C. Florez of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, at St. Helena Catholic Church. The Rev. Jose A. Reyes will officiate. Services are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Helena Catholic Church.

Mr. Florez, 48, died Tuesday, July 10, in Palestine, Texas. He was born Jan. 19, 1953, to Manuel and Lucy Florez of Hobbs.

He was a lifelong resident of Hobbs.

Mr. Florez is survived by four sons, Stevie Florez of Amarillo, Juan Luis Florez of El Paso and David Florez and Billy Florez, both of Hobbs; three daughters, Amanda Florez, Alma Rosa Florez and Lucy Florez, all of Hobbs; his mother, Lucy C. Lopez of Hobbs; seven brothers, Johnny Florez, Santos Florez, Valente Lopez Jr., Mario Lopez, Robert Lopez and Adam Lopez, all of Hobbs, and Daniel Lopez of Artesia; six sisters, Mary Vasquez, Adela Hernandez, Corina Martinez and Olivia Garcia, all of Hobbs, Aurelia Lopez of Naples, Fla., and Thomasa Aguilar of Roscoe, Texas; and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Valente Lopez Sr.; two sons, Leonard Florez and Quatemo Florez; and one daughter, Delores Florez.

Roberta Wright

Services for Roberta Wright of Hobbs, formerly of Eunice, are pending with Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wright, 93, died Tuesday, July 10, at Country Cottage in Hobbs. She was born Dec. 6, 1907.
