Naomi Turner

Services for Naomi Turner of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Green and the Rev. Elio Barrios will officiate. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Turner, 68, died Thursday, June 14, in Hobbs. She was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Holdenville, Okla.

Mrs. Turner moved from Michigan to Hobbs in 1944. She took care of her husband, Clifford Turner, to the best of her ability for many years before he died in January.

Mrs. Turner worked in the theater, Furr's and as a nurse's aid. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Turner is survived by two stepsons, Rusty Turner and Mitchell Turner; four stepdaughters, Lavada Fulcher, Valerie Clark, Balita Brown and Lana Haddox; two brothers; four sisters; and many stepgrandchildren.

Jesus Rivera

LOVINGTON - Services for Jesus Rivera of Lovington will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Services are under the direction of Smith-Rogers Funeral Home of Lovington.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Rivera, 67, died Friday, June 15, at his home. He was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Zacatas, Mexico. He married Carmen Cervantes on Sept. 25, 1982, in Mexico.

He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Mr. Rivera is survived by his wife of Lovington; two sons, Gustavo Rivera of Borger, Texas, and Ruben Rivera of Lovington; four daughters, Alicia Bartholic, Letecia Rivera and Manuela Rivera, all of Lovington, and Lucy Negrete of El Paso; one brother, Juan Rivera of El Paso; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Ada Alice Patton

ARTESIA - Services for Ada Alice Patton of Artesia are pending with Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mrs. Patton, 93, died Saturday, June 16, at Artesia General Hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1908, in Foreman, Ark.

Mrs. Patton is survived by her daughter-in-law, Inez Patton of Hobbs.

Ann Erwin

Services for Ann Erwin of Hobbs are pending with Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Erwin, 58, died Saturday, June 16, at her home. She was born Feb. 6, 1943.

Mrs. Erwin is survived by her husband, Ed Erwin, of the home.

Daphne Ditto

Services for Daphne Ditto of Hobbs are pending with Griffin Funeral Home.

Ms. Ditto, 16, died Thursday, June 14, in Lubbock. She was born July 3, 1984.

Ms. Ditto is survived by her parents, Vaughn and Candy Ditto; one sister, Serena Cooksey of Hobbs; and one brother, Haydn Ditto of Lubbock.

James F. Smith

WHITE OAK, Texas - Services for James Fenis "Snuffy" Smith of White Oak will be held at noon today at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in White Oak. Dale Stone will officiate. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the new White Oak Cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 64, died Wednesday, June 13, at his home. He was born March 10, 1937, in Arkinda, Ark.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Bernice, of 43 years; two sons, Cecil Smith of White Oak and Jon Smith of Longview, Texas; two daughters, Teresa Creel and Me'Lesa Prado, both of Longview; his mother, Geneva Williams, and stepfather, Bill Williams, both of Hobbs; one brother, Steve Cantrel of Hobbs; three sisters, Freda Mathews of Forman, Ark., Bonnie Jones and Edwina Henslee, both of Hobbs; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Eldridge Smith; and his grandparents.

Jack Feagley

LITTLEFIELD, Texas - Services for Jack Feagley of Andrews will be held at 3 p.m. today at Hammons Funeral Home Chapel in Littlefield. The Rev. Eddie Curry of First Baptist Church of Levelland will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Littlefield Memorial Park.

Mr. Feagley, 63, died Wednesday, June 13, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Dec. 4, 1937, in Littlefield. He married Kathy Askew on Jan. 1, 1961, in Littlefield.

Mr. Feagley served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63. He was a gin manager in several Texas cities. He was a member of the Anton Masonic Lodge.

He and Kathy lived in the Littlefield area until moving to Andrews in 1981. While there, he worked at Kay & Company Electric and Andrews County. They moved to Wellington, Texas, in 1993. In 1999, when he retired, they moved from Wellington back to Andrews. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Feagley is survived by his wife; three daughters, Christie Webb and Sandy Ellison, both of Hobbs, and Terri Barr of West Monroe, Calif.; five brothers, Doyle Feagley of Portales, Bill Feagley of Littlefield, Charles Feagley of Spur, Texas, Roy Lee Feagley of Garland, Texas, and Johnny Feagley of Clinton, Ark.; one sister, Helen Fields of Plainview, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association or the Shriners Children's Hospital.

Naomi Turner

Mrs. Turner, 68, died Thursday, June 14, in Hobbs. She was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Holdenville, Okla.

Mrs. Turner is survived by two brothers and four sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband in January.

James F. Smith

He was a graduate of Hobbs High School. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Jefferson Street Church of Christ. He was always willing to open his door to anyone in need.

Jose A. Cobos

LOVINGTON - Services for Jose "Joe" Acosta Cobos of Lovington will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sergio Melendez of Pimera Iglesia Baptist Church of Lovington will officiate. Services are under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.

Mr. Cobos, 66, died Wednesday, June 13, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born July 1, 1934, in La Cienda, Texas, to Teadoro and Ofelia Cobos of Loving. He married Petronila Salcido at First Assembly of God in Loving.

Mr. Cobos lived in Lovington for 28 years. He worked for Ferguson Construction Co. from 1969 to May 1997, retiring after 28 years. He attended schools in Lovington and he was a very loving man who never refused to help family and friends. He also provided a home and showed love for anyone in need.

Mr. Cobos is survived by his wife of the home; five sons, Jose Jr. of Roswell, Joel Adrian Cobos and Jamie Ray Cobos, both of Lovington, Abel Cobos of Phoenix and Jerry Cobos; four brothers, Lucio Cobos, Goyo Cobos, Polo Cobos, all of Carlsbad, and Angel Cobos of Solidad, Calif.; four sisters, Chavela Martinez, Margie Serna and Tacha Islas, all of Carlsbad, and Andrea Garcia of Loving.

Mr. Cobos was preceded in death by his parents.

Kirby Moore

Graveside services and burial for Kirby Moore of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Prairie Haven Cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. The Rev. Leon Green will officiate.

Mr. Moore, 86, died Monday, May 21, at his home. He was born April 1, 1915, in Dallas.

He married Violet Howell.

Mr. Moore enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Moore was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; a daughter, Pamalee Penick of Hobbs; a brother, Albert Moore of Caliente, Calif.; a sister, Irene Rainwater, of Breckenridge, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Ivan L. Horton
Services for former Hobbsan Ivan L. Horton of Las Cruces will be held at 10 a.m. today at Getz Funeral Home.
The Rev. Frank Zamora of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Horton, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 4, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born July 11, 1918, in Muskegon, Mich. He married Louise Horton 55 years ago.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served his country during World War II as a company carpenter. While in the service, he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Horton worked for Acme Lumber and was the owner-operator of a service station when he lived in Hobbs. He was also a life member of the D.A.V. and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Lavon Massey of Las Cruces; a son, James (Jim) Horton of Hobbs; a brother, Allen Horton of Twin Lakes, Mich.; and five grandchildren.
His parents, Ernest and Goldie Horton; one sister; and three brothers preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children's Home in Portales.

Jimmy L. Ozborn
LOVINGTON - Services are pending with Smith-Rogers Funeral Home for Jimmy Lee Ozborn of Maljamar.
Mr. Ozborn, 46, died Monday, Nov. 6. He was born Feb. 16, 1954, in Lovington.

Steven E. Osuna
Memorial services for former Hobbsan Steven Edward "Eddy" Osuna of Lexington, Neb., will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Prairie Haven Chapel.
Larry Breen will officiate. Cremation will take place under the direction of Memory Gardens Direct Services.
Mr. Osuna, 19, died Sunday, Nov. 5, in Lexington. He was born Oct. 2, 1981, in Santa Paula, Calif.
He had attended Hobbs High School. He moved to Lexington where he was working at I.B.P. He also attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lexington.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Mela Osuna of Hobbs; a sister, Sylvia Calderon of Hobbs; and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Louvenia Allman
WELLINGTON, Texas - Funeral services for Louvenia Allman, 87, a former Hobbs resident, are scheduled for 3 p.m. (CST) today at First United Methodist Church in Wellington. She was 87.
Burial, under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, will be at 2 p.m. (MST) Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hobbs.
Mrs. Allman died on Friday, Nov. 3, in Wellington.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1913, in Ringgold, Texas, and married Eldon C. Allman on Jan. 26, 1936, in Hobbs. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Mrs. Allman, a homemaker, lived in Hobbs from 1936 to 1980, when she moved to Wellington.
While living in Hobbs, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. In Wellington, Mrs. Allman was active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Collingsworth County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Julia Barjenbruch of Kingwood, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Allman was preceded in death by a granddaughter, one sister and four brothers.
