Juan Tomas is a small community 20 miles SE of Albuquerque and one mile East of NM 337
between the small towns of Cedro and Ponderosa in the Manzano Mountains.  The cemetery 
is approximately 2 miles east of the highway, just west of the Juan Tomas Catholic Church.
 
The former bean growing community of Juan Tomas was named for John Thomas, a ranch owner 
about 1870.
 
This cemetery was walked in August 2006.  It is not used very often now, perhaps only one 
burial per year.
