ALLEN: Roland Bernard Allen, 76, of Alma passed away Sunday at his home. Services are pending with Bright Funeral Home.

FLORES: Carlota Flores, 96, a resident of Silver City, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 13, at the family home. Calling hours will be from 5-6 p.m. today at Baca's Fu-neral Chapels. The prayer vigil will begin at 6, led by Father David Hugo of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 in the morning at Our Lady of Fa-tima Catholic Church in Ba-yard, with Father Paulus Kao offi-ciating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Miss Flores was born Nov. 27, 1904, at Little Walnut. She was a homemaker and a communicant of the Catholic Church. She is survived by a sister, Josefa Mendoza of Phoenix; and three nephews, Ar-turo Flores and wife, Helen, of Norwalk, Calif., Bobby Mendoza and wife, Lupe, of Silver City, and Jose F. Mendoza and wife, Cecilia, also of Silver City. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. Casket bearers will be Steve Maxwell, Joe Monge, Aure-lio Leyba, Gilbert Acuna, Lukie Madrid and Victor Ornelas. MORRIS: Henry B. Morris, 88, of Silver City passed away Friday, April 13, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Montecito Cemetery in Loma Linda, Calif. Mr. Morris was born May 23, 1912, in Tonkawa, Okla. He was the son of Andrew Morris and Edith Griffith Morris. He is survived by his companion, Olive Cleveland; one son, Buck Morris, and his wife, Betty, of Cortez, Colo.; three daughters, Marilyn Berry of Silver City, Doris Berry and her husband, Ken, of Elephant Butte, and Sharon Underwood and her husband, Leon, of Perris, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchil-dren. Mr. Morris was pre-ceded in death by his wife, Frances Morris, in 1960; his son-in-law, Don Berry, in 1989; and two grandsons, David Berry and Micah Morris. Mr. Morris and Olive moved in 1999 from Cali-fornia to Elephant Butte, where he enjoyed fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and exploring old town sites and ghost towns. He and Olive came to Silver City in De-cember 2000 for treatment of a heart condition. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ABALOS: Steven Joe Abalos, 39, of Albuquerque, formerly of Silver City, passed away Friday, April 13, in BSA Hospital in Albuquerque. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, with the holy rosary at 6 p.m., led by his brother-in-law, Jerry Bustillos, at Bright Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Rod Nichols officiating. Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Abalos was born Nov. 1, 1961, in Silver City. He was the son of David Abalos and Margaret Olivas Abalos. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Bill Snoeberger of Albuquerque; father, David Abalos of Silver City; brothers, David Abalos, and Robert Abalos and his wife, Beverly, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Virginia Bustillos and her husband, Jerry, and Delia Sherman of Silver City, Sally Abalos, Isabel Gonzales of Rio Rancho and Ernestine Abalos; stepbrothers, Gary Snoeberger and his wife, Kim, and Kenneth Snoeberger and his wife, Kami, of Rio Rancho; one stepsister, Sandra Lujan, and her husband, Richard, of Albuquerque; and his companion and special friend, Merlin Bierner of Albuquerque. Mr. Abalos was a baseball coach for girls' Little League and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. GALLOWAY: James T. Galloway, 69, died Tuesday, April 10, at home, following a long and courageous battle with emphysema. He spent his last days at home cared for by his immediate family, close friends, and Gila Regional Hospice. He maintained a remarkably high level of dignity and humor throughout this difficult journey, making what otherwise would have been a difficult task for his caregivers into one of truly warm and joyous memories. He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Los Angeles to the late James C. and Gail Greiner Galloway. He joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and retired 21 years later after attaining the rank of sergeant first class. He served honorably and was decorated in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. On Jan. 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to his lifelong partner and best friend, Wanda Ruth Moseley, in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Galloway lived in Europe, Asia and various places throughout the United States. They moved in 1976 from El Paso, Texas, to the Lake Roberts area, where Mr. Galloway gave generously of his time and varied skills in many ways. A journeyman carpenter, he constructed his and several of his neighbors' homes. He was instrumental in the development of the Sapillo Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Emergency Medical Services, within which he served as an emergency medical technician, fire chief and EMS coordina-tor. He loved to fish, bird-watch, and spend time draw-ing with his granddaughters. Mr. Galloway is survived by his wife, Wanda, and his son and his wife, Jim and Linda Galloway, of Lake Roberts; his daughter and her husband, Debi and Ray Lenderman of Mimbres; two granddaughters, Amanda Keller of Columbus, Ohio, and Stephanie Lenderman of Mimbres; two grandsons, Sean Galloway of El Paso and Rhett Galloway of Mimbres; his stepmother, Pricilla Galloway of San Diego, Calif.; and lifelong friends Fred and Wilma May of Lake Roberts. Mr. Galloway wished to be cremated and asked that no memorial service be held. The Galloway family expressed sincere gratitude to members of the Gila Regional Hospice team for their compassion, high level of competence, and generous time. BANKS: Johnny Banks, 76, of Silver City passed away in Fort Bayard Medical Center on Monday, April 9. The prayer vigil will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bright Fu-neral Home by Deacon Bill Holguin. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Rod Nichols officiating. Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Banks was born April 21, 1924, in Silver City. He was the son of Maggie Banks, who preceded him in death. Mr. Banks was loved by all of Silver City, having served as grand marshal of the Fourth of July Parade and as Western New Mexico University mascot. He was a faithful follower of Silver High School and Western New Mexico Universty sports. He was most noted for his color-ful dress. At games, he would help the cheerleaders cheer their teams toward vic-tory. His overall enthusiastic approach to life was appreciated by all who knew him. One could always get a friendly smile and wave from him as he rested on the park bench on Hudson Street or wherever one might meet him. Pallbearers for Mr. Banks will be Ron Hall, Rudy Jacquez, Tommy Ryan, Bodie Chavez, John Carter and Earseye Ross. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MEDINA: Ramona M. Medina, 56, a resident of Santa Clara, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 8, in Silver City. The family will receive friends and family Thursday beginning at 9 in the morning at the Apostolic Bethany Temple in Santa Clara. Funeral services will start at 10, with Pastor Ralph A. Rueda Jr. officiating. Concluding services and in-terment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. She was born April 25, 1944, in Deming to Jesus and Luz (Gonzales) Mendoza. She was a homemaker and en-joyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. She liked to crochet. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She took great pride in all of them. She leaves behind many friends and family members who love her very much. She will be sadly missed. Mrs. Medina is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert "Bobby" Medina; five daughters, Yolanda Gutierrez and husband, David, of Phoenix, Belinda Hunt and husband, Bill, of Colorado, Rachel Medina of Santa Clara, Sara-Luz Dees and husband, Ricky, of Hurley, and Pamela Medina of Santa Clara; three brothers, Mariano Macias of Deming, Dan Mendoza of Deming, and Jose Luis Gonzales and wife, Roseanne, of Deming; three sisters, Emma Marquez and husband, Rudy, of Bayard, Elvira Padilla of Las Cruces, and Lilly Vargas of Colorado; and sister-in-law, Cathy Mendoza of Deming. PADILLA: Lupe Sedillos Padilla, 83, of North Hurley "China Town" passed away Sunday, April 8. "Nuestra querida madre, abuela, hermana y amiga se fue para vivir con su Jesus. She left us peacefully surrounded by her family at home. Ella siempre fue amable, linda y humilde." She will always be remembered for feeding everybody with her wonderful food. Her whole life was devoted to her familia in every way possible. Her life on this Earth will be greatly missed, but her life in heaven and reunion with Dadi will be a treasure for all of her family. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home, followed by the prayer vigil at 6, also at Bright Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Hurley with Father Virgilio Flores and Father Dan Porter officiating. Interment will be in Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Padilla was born June 28, 1917, in Rodey, N.M. She was the daughter of Efren Sedillos and Teodosa "Tocha" Garcia. She married David B. Padilla on Dec. 29, 1945, in Hurley. She is survived by two sons, David Alejandro Padilla and his wife, Socorro, of Bayard, and Fernando S. Padilla of Arenas Valley; three daughters, Amelia Granadino of North Hurley, Cornelia Padilla Ortiz and her husband, Eliseo "Cheo" Ortiz, of Santa Clara, and Delmera P. Martinez and her husband, Hector, of Santa Clara; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ricardo "Lalo" Sedillos and his wife, Celia, of North Hurley, Jimmy Sedillos of North Hurley, and Reynaldo "Nenel" Sedillos and his wife, Nora, of Las Cruces; three sisters, Corina Martinez and her husband, Rodolfo, of North Hurley, Tomasa Ogas of Safford, Ariz., and Chila Padilla and her husband, Ricardo "Dickie" Padilla, of Tyrone; "y su mas querida amiga," Lou Martinez of North Hurley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Padilla, in 1974; one son, Jose Padilla, in 1952; three brothers, Jesus Sedillos, Jose Sedillos and Arturo "Tudy" Chavez; and one sister, Maria Lozano. Mrs. Padilla loved gardening, cooking and music. She was very devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many friends. She was a very strong and spiritual woman. She especially loved hearing her granddaughter, Anjelica, sing her beautiful music. Anjelica sang to her right up until her death. The last song she sang to her was "Por un Amor." FARRELLY: John Richard Farrelly, 48, of Arenas Valley passed away Wednesday, April 4, at Scott Air Force Base Medical Center in Shiloh Valley Township, Ill., after a long, courageous bat-tle with cancer. Calling hours will be from 6-7 this evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels, followed by the prayer vigil at 7, led by Deacon Bill Holguin. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 in the morning at St. Francis Newman Center Parish, with Father Marcos O. Reyna offi-ciating. The rite of commit-tal and interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Ceme-tery with military honors. Mr. Farrelly was born Feb. 4, 1953, in Tuc-son, Ariz., to John L. Far-relly and Joyce L. (Bradfield) Farrelly. He entered military service in 1971. His assignments included the 82nd Airborne Division, 4th Infantry Division, 21st Theater Army Area Command, 2nd Armored Division, 13th Support Command, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, and the Operations Group of the National Training Center. He also served as a medic, armor crew member, tank commander, armored reconnaissance scout, mechanic, squad leader, section chief, platoon sergeant and logistics trainer. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal, four awards; National Defense Service Medal, two awards; Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, three awards; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon, two awards; Parachutist Badge; Expert Mechanics Badge; Drivers Badge, Expert Marksman Badge; and German Armed Forces Badge in Bronze. Upon his retirement from active duty in 1996, he moved to Silver City and continued to serve his community, as the maintenance supervisor and pool manager for the town of Silver City. He was a business major at Western New Mexico University. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Aguilar) Farrelly; two daughters, Candice and Crystal Farrelly of Silver City; his mother, Joyce Zamazanuk, and her husband, Paul, of Sedona, Ariz.; three brothers, Eric Bock of San Diego, Calif., Tim Stump of Rock Island, Ill., and Richard Farrelly and his wife, Eve, of Wichita, Kan.; and three sisters, Joy Far-relly-Watt of Flagstaff, Ariz., Linda Leeper and her husband, Jerry, of Clinton, Iowa, and Nancy Emerson and her husband, Donny, of Spokane, Wash. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, stepbrothers and stepsisters. He was preceded in death by his father, John Farrelly, and two brothers, Jeff and James Farrelly. JUAREZ: Consuelo D. Juarez, 63, a lifelong resident of Deming, passed away Sunday, April 8, at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 Wednesday afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Deming, with the prayer vigil to follow that evening at 7 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Catanach, pas-tor, officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. She was born June 10, 1937, in Deming to Gilbert and Isabel Dominguez Villegas. She retired as a teacher and administrator with the Deming Public Schools, where she worked from 1972 to 1997. She was past president of the Southwest Consortium of Bilingual Educators and an executive officer with that organization for 20 years. Mrs. Juarez was very involved with the gifted in the English as a Second Language Program and for five years was the Title 7 coordinator in Columbus. For the last 10 years, she worked to improve local programs and procedures to comply with state requirements. She was a communicant at St. Ann's Catholic Church, was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart and the El Paisano Lions Club, and had been active with the Deming Public Library. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Juarez of Deming; two sons, Gilbert Juarez Jr. and Tony Juarez of Deming; three daughters, Isabel Juarez of Las Cruces, Irene Altamirano of Brownsville, Texas, and Dini Juarez of Deming; five brothers, Mike Vennettilli of Canyon Country, Calif., Samuel Crawford of Globe, Ariz., Jesus Villegas of Silver City, Danny Villegas of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Ray Villegas of Deming; three sisters, Amelia Reyes of Amarillo, Texas, Herlinda Villegas of Douglas, Ariz., and Delia Turner of Deming; and 10 grandchildren.
