Audrey M. Hutton
5/4/2006 - Audrey M. Hutton 81 formerly of Knowlton Rd., Clymer died April 24, 2006 in the Beverly Healthcare of Erie, Pa.
She was born September 8, 1924 in Clymer, the daughter of the late Lewis and Mildred Gabriel Duink.
She and her husband had owned and operated the Hutton Furniture Store and Audrey's Attic in Clymer from 1965 until her retirement in 1987. Audrey was a member of the Clymer United Methodist Church and former member of the Clymer Historical Society.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Lou Morvay and her husband Tim of Corry, Pa.; a son Atty. Bruce Hutton and his wife Beth of Mentor, Ohio; an AFS daughter Quach Khong Anh of Hong Kong; three grandchildren, Jay Gibbons of Perrysburg, Ohio, Ana Hutton Kehrberg and her husband Jason of Lexington, Kentucky and Aimee Hutton of Vienna, Virginia; three brothers, Earl Duink and Clayton Duink and his wife Avalon of Clymer and Jerrold Duink and his wife Marie of New Hartford, N.Y.
She was preceded by her husband Andrew Hutton, whom she married September 5, 1946 and died November 3, 1981.
Burial will be in Holland Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to the Clymer United Methodist Church or the Kristopher Lynn TeWinkle Scholarship Fund c/o Clymer Central School, 8672 East Main St., Clymer, N.Y. 14724.
The Spitzer Funeral Home in Clymer is in charge of arrangements.

Beverly Ann Hubbard
3/9/2006 - Beverly Ann Hubbard, 55, of North Everett Ave., Bemus Point, died March 6, 2006 in WCA Hospital in Jamestown.
She was born Dec. 21, 1950 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Robert W. and Delores Mosher Larson.
She graduated in 1969 from Chautauqua Central School, from Jamestown Community College in 1971, Buffalo State in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in social and West Virginia University with a master's in social work.
Beverly was a clinical social worker in private practice in Bemus Point. Previously, she had been a therapist at Family Service of Jamestown, and also in the Jamestown Public Schools for several years as a therapist. She had also worked as a therapist for the Randolph Children's Home in Randolph. She was a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church and the National Association of Social Workers.
Beverly wanted to serve her Lord by sharing her faith with hurting people. She enjoyed tending to her extensive array of perennial flowers and plants. She enjoyed reading from her extensive library of Christian books and she had a deep love of her many pets including her African grey parrot, "Phyllis." Above all, she cherished her relationships with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Brian D. Hubbard, whom she married Sept. 24, 1977 in Bemus Point; two sons, Evan R. and Andrew B. Hubbard, both at home; and two brothers, William E. Larson of Mayville and Ora L. Larson of Ashville.
She was preceded in death by her father on June 10, 1996 and her mother on Oct. 29, 1995.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 11th in the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. The Rev. Daniel McBride, senior pastor, and Michael Quimby, director of youth ministry, will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.

Frank Matteson
3/9/2006 - Frank Matteson, of Lancaster, Calif. passed away January 6, 2006. Born December 2, 1919 in Youngsville, Pa., he was a long-time resident of Sherman.
He is survived by two children, M. Edward Matteson, of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., his wife Doreen and the Reverend Dean Matteson, of Palmdale, Calif. and his wife Audrey; five grandchildren, Sheila, David, Robert, Douglas and Deann; and three great-grandchildren Ciera, Carynn and Cole.
He was preceded in death in January 2002 by his wife Natalie Barrett Matteson, whom he married December 1942.
He served for three years in the United States Army, stationed in Hawaii during World War II, returning home with three Medals of Honor. He enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music with his family and serving the Lord by witnessing to others was his passion. He also enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and mowing the lawn at his favorite place the J.I.M. club in Maple Springs.
Memorial services were held January 14, 2006 at Faith Community Church in Palmdale, California where his son is the minister and he and his wife were active members since moving to California.

Sue Phelps
3/9/2006 - Sue A. Phelps, 52, of Mina-French Creek Road, Findley Lake, died March 4, 2006 in her home after courageously battling ovarian cancer for two years.
She was born Aug. 16, 1953 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the daughter of the late Alfred and Edna Duttry Priest.
She had worked at Peek'n Peak Resort & Conference Center and was a bank teller for the Northwest Savings Bank of Corry for nine years. Sue was an associate member of the Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed crocheting, herb gardening and her flowers gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Phelps of Findley Lake, whom she married June 25, 1989; a daughter, Angela Kellar and her husband, Edward, of Cortland, Ohio; a son, Joseph Olewniczak of Corry, Pa.; two grandchildren, Paul and Isabella Kellar of Cortland, Ohio; four brothers, George A. Priest of Chesapeake, Va., Kenneth Knight and his wife, Cathy, of Grand Island, John Knight and his wife, Claudia, of Niagara Falls and Bill Knight and his wife, Marcy, of Margate, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Davis and her husband, Paul, of Niagara Falls; her stepfather, G. Read Woodworth of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pamela Priest; and her stepmother, Pearl Priest.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 158, Findley Lake, N.Y., 14736; or The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Inc., 5303 G. Chestnut Ridge Road, Orchard Park, N.Y., 14127.

Arthur H. Woelfle
3/9/2006 - Arthur H. Woelfle, 63, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly March 2, 2006 at Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk.
He was born June 6, 1942 in Dunkirk, the son of the late John and Lois (Robinson) Woelfle.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Woelfle was a 1960 alumnus of Cardinal Mindszenty High School, where he was a member of the only undefeated football team in the school's history. He graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a degree in mathematics.
He taught mathematics at Dunkirk Middle School and Dunkirk High School for 33 years before retiring in 1997.
A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Dunkirk Elks Lodge No. 922 and the First Ward Falcons Club, he also served on the credit committee of the Dunkirk School Employees Federal Union.
During his retirement, his favorite pastimes included tending to his dog, traveling, playing cards, visiting area casinos, helping out at Weiss Hardware whenever needed, sitting by the lake enjoying the summer breezes and most of all, entertaining his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary (Haase) Woelfle; two daughters, Lisa (Tom Hill) Wolefle and Sara (Jeffrey) Marsowicz, both of Dunkirk; one son, Matthew Woelfle of Silver Spring, Md.; two grandchildren, Adam Rivera and Nicholas Marsowicz; two sisters, Susan (Kenneth) Brooks of Dunkirk and Johnette (Brent Smith) Crane of Westfield; and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gracia Evans; and a grandson, Cameron Marsowicz.
Memorials may be made to the Arthur H. Woelfle Scholarship Fund, Dunkirk School Employees Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 1133, Dunkirk, N.Y.; or to Northern Chautauqua Catholic School.

Frances E. Wolfe
3/9/2006 - Frances Elizabeth (Wick) Wolfe, 89, of Webster Road, Westfield, died March 1, 2006 at Westfield Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Wolfe was born Dec. 22, 1916 in Sandusky, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Hoffman) Wick.
A Westfield resident since 1938, she came here from Sandusky, Ohio. She had been employed by George LaPorte Grape Farm and had been very active in her community, including the Westfield Hospital Auxiliary, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society as well as several other civic organizations. Frances was known to many as "the neighborhood Mom." She was a member of the Portland Congregational Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy (William) Bauer of Westfield; one son, John Wolfe of Westfield; two grandchildren, Michael Bauer of Jamestown and David Bauer of Olean; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Wolfe, whom she married May 6, 1936 in Sandusky and who died Jan. 29, 1996; a brother, George Wick; and a sister, Josephine (Wick) Bickley.
No visitation will be observed. Services will be private.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice Chautauqua County, 4840 West Lake Road, Mayville, N.Y., 14757; the Portland Congregational Church, Portland, N.Y., 14769; or to the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, 189 E. Main Street, Westfield, N.Y., 14787.
Arrangements are by the MASON Funeral Home on Clinton Street in Westfield.

Nancy Zimmer Keefauver
3/9/2006 - Nancy Zimmer Keefauver, 65, of Hendersonville, N.C. passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at the Elizabeth Hospice House.
Born May 7, 1940, Nancy was raised in Westfield by her parents, the late Earl L. Zimmer and Olive Bolling Zimmer. She graduated from WACS in 1958 and SUNY Fredonia with a teaching certificate. She felt fortunate to have maintained so many of her childhood friends from Westfield, and was able to visit with many of them this past summer at the annual WACS Reunion/Ox Roast.
She resided in Hendersonville, N.C. for the past 24 years. She was an active member of her church. Her hobbies included playing the clarinet in her community band, writing children's stories, reading, and playing golf with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of six years, Donald Keefauver; her two daughters, Patricia A. McClennan of Westfield, and Elaine S. Medley of Hendersonville, N.C.; her sister, Sue Zimmer Polk of Watsonville, Calif.; and her grandson, Alec Cameron Medley of Hendersonville, N.C. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Norman J. Peters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hope: A Women's Cancer Center, 100 Ridgefield Ct., P.O. Box 16948, Asheville, N.C. 28816 or to your local Hospice foundation.
Arrangements are in the care of Sensible Alternatives of WNC in Asheville.

Joseph D. Kobza Sr.
3/9/2006 - Joseph D. Kobza, Sr, 73, of Mayville, died March 3, 2006 at the Veterans Affair Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
He was born in Oneida, N.Y. on March 19, 1932 son of the late John and Elizabeth Molnar Kobza.
He served in the United States Army.
He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and provided community service for meals on wheels.
He was a welder at Carbide and after his retirement he worked for the department of transportation.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph D. Kobza, Jr. and his wife Carol of Grand Island, James Kobza of Buffalo, a daughter, Judy Percy and her husband Michael of Tonawanda, four grandchildren, Morgan and Michaela Percy, Kristen and Joseph Kobza, two sisters, Gizella Petrocik of Philadelphia, Pa., Margaret Kobza of Oneida, two brothers, John Kobza of Cheektowaga, Steve Kobza of Oneida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Kobza and a brother, Carl Kobza.
No calling hours will be observed.
Services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Marshall S. Kepner
2/23/2006 - Marshall S. "Doc" Kepner 84 of the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk formerly of South Ripley died Feb. 20, 2006 in the Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
He was born October 25, 1921 in Ripley the son of the late Frederick and Pearl Crippen Kepner.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of North East, Pa. and had worked for Welch's Foods in North East until his retirement. He enjoyed watching all sport and doing all kinds of puzzles.
He is survived by his mother-in-law Virginia Riewaldt of Erie; three sisters-in-law, Kimberly Norcross and her husband Dean of Findley Lake, Ginny Haraldson and her husband Alan of Erie and Kay Whitman and her husband Jerry of North East, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Faye Riewaldt Kepner whom he married July 14, 1973 and died February 5, 1997.
Burial will be in Grahamville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Home, 10836 Temple Rd., Dunkirk, N.Y. 14048.
