TILFORD Ann Harriet Of Bethany Courtyard, Horseheads, NY Age 85, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was born September 23, 1920 in East Lawrenceville, PA, to C. Leon and Harriet Hudson Tilford. Ann is survived by her brother, Arch C. Tilford of Middlebury, VT; sister, Leone and Harry Welch of Pine City, NY; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Hudson Tilford; sisters, Constance, Bernice Adams Jones, Mary Henderson. Ann was retired from Exxon Mobil as an executive secretary in New York City. She had a passion for her family, reading and gardening. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Thursday, June 29, 2006, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with funeral and committal services following calling hours (6:00 p.m.). Rev. Dennis Christiansen will officiate. Interment in East Lawrence Cemetery at the convenience of the family. VAN NESS SWEET, Freda (Cobleigh) 95, of Troy, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at the Troy Hospital. She was the widow of her first husband, the late Jack Van Ness who passed away on December 25, 1975, and her second husband, Richmond H. Sweet who passed away on February 14, 2005. Family and friends are welcome to call at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA, on Friday, June 30, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held after the viewing on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Garry Zuber officiating. Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Cemetery.

BROWN James W. "Pedro" Funeral services were held on Friday, June 30, 2006 at Sullivan's Funeral Home. Services were lead by Rev. David D. Sullivan. The Pallbears that carried Jim were Michael Schuld, Richard Wieder, Kyle Wieder, Ryan Wieder, Michael Watson and Elbert Alexander.

BRUSSO Robert Age 85, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY. Robert is survived by his brothers, Delbert (Ida) Brusso, Gustave (Pat) Brusso, Lawrence (Wilda) Brusso, and Harold (Lena) Brusso, all of Elmira; sister, Rita Brusso of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 5th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place there at 12 p.m. with Reverend Walter Wainwright officiating. Interment will follow in Bath National Cemetery.

BURGEY Marion A. Of Elmira NY, died Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. BURROWS Wayne D. Age 86 of Mansfield, PA died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at his home. Wayne was the husband of Norene (Bartlett) Burrows for 55 years. He was born on April 25, 1920 in Tioga, PA, the son of Frank and Lulu (Ramsdell) Burrows. Wayne retired from Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post, NY after 28 years of service. Following his retirement, he was employed by Lynn Ingerick of Middlebury Center, PA. Wayne was an avid bowler and horseshoe player and enjoyed farming. Wayne is survived by his wife, Norene Burrows of Mansfield, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and Debra Burrows of Osceola, PA; a daughter, Amy L. Burrows of Osceola, PA; three grandsons, Justin Burrows, Curtis Burrows and Bryan Smith; a brother, William R. Burrows of Wellsboro, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Wayne's wishes, there will be a private family graveside service in Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.

HINDS Joan A. Age 50 of Athens, PA passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 following an extended illness. Born November 5, 1955 in Fort Levingworth, NJ, the daughter of the late Ronald and Betty Rowe Bennett. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her granddaughter, Courtney. She was predeceased by her sister, Judy Bennett, and her brother, Eric Bennett. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Carson Hinds of Athens; her sons and daughter-in-law, Carson J. and Jennifer Hinds II of Athens and Shawn Hinds of Waverly, NY; a granddaughter, Courtney Hinds of Athens; her sisters, Rosemary Wittig of Nichols, NY and Deborah Alliger of Waverly, NY; her brother, Ronald Bennett of Windham, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Athens, on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Martin Bovee, Pastor of the Athens First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens. MCCARRICK Lois J. (Smith) Age 68 of Elmira, NY passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Walter J. Kent Funeral Home is assisting the family.

NEAL Donald F. of Gaines, PA Age 81, formerly of Taylor, MI, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, in Manor Care, Williamsport, PA. Born March 5, 1925 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Fredrick and Gladys East Neal. On January 7, 1984 in Taylor, MI, he married the former Jacqueline Chandonnet, who survives. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran, serving with the US Navy. He was a Detroit city fireman for 30 years, retiring as Lieutenant. He was a member of St. Bibiana Church in Galeton. Surviving, besides his wife, are four children, Mark Neal of Westland, MI, Glen Neal of Livonia, MI, Debra Gable of Canton, MI, and Gale Nequist of Corunna, MI; three stepchildren, Charles Fontenot of New Boston, MI, Kevin Fontenot of Ypsilanti, MI, and Nicole Valoroso of Towanda, PA; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Albert Neal of Brighton, MI, and Dale Neal of Detroit, MI. Friends may call Tuesday, July 4th, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in St. Bibiana Church, Galeton. The Rev. William M. Calabrese will be the Celebrant. RAVERT Albertie B. Age 85 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 5th, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place there on Thursday, July 6th at 1 p.m. with Reverend James Crupi officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

WINKLER Mary R. Age 85, of Montour Falls, NY, formerly of Rochester, NY, died Monday, June 26, 2006. Mrs. Winkler is survived by her children, Joseph A. Winkler IV, Margaret Kennedy, Thomas K. Winkler, M. Elizabeth Laughlin, James F. Winkler, Ann McCarthy, and Teresa Winkler; brother, John Rigney; sister, Rita Cook; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Winkler is predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Winkler III; brothers, James and Thomas Rigney; and a special friend, Charles Kupferschmid. Mrs. Winkler was loved by all and will be missed by those who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at 8:00 a.m. at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Greece, NY at 11:30 a.m. with interment in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's of The Lake Church, Watkins Glen, NY, or to a charity of one's choice.

WISE Arthur Jr. Age 77, and longtime resident of S. Main St., Horseheads, and more recently Bethany Village, passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, July 1, 2006. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, on Wed., July 5, 2006 from 4-7:00. His service will take place there at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:00 p.m., Pastor David Swartwood to officiate. Interment beside his late wife, Janet in Maple Grove Cemetery on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

BONIN Frank J. Our loving father, grandfather and friend, Frank J. Bonin, 81, of Orwell Twp., PA, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 10, 2006 at his home. Frank was born April 24, 1925 in Owego, NY, the son of the late Frank J. and Nina (Cass) Bonin. He was a graduate of Rome High School and proudly served our country during World War II with the United States Army. In 1972, with his family, Frank established Lake Bonin - today, many gather there to share stories, camp and roller skate. He enjoyed working and spending time outdoors, being his own pilot and visiting with fellow guests. Frank is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Cathy Bonin of Orwell, PA; stepdaughter, Bobbi Sweigart of Hobe Sound, FL; brother-in-law, Mylo Binley of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Allison and Todd Bonin of Orwell, PA, Darlene Fuggetta of Hobe Sound, FL; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Beverly Miles of Elmira, NY. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Bernice (Sprinkle) Bonin, on December 29, 1995; son, Kevin Bonin, on October 1, 1990; and siblings, Emmer Binley, Frances Karam, Helen Watkins and Delores Folk. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation Sunday, August 13th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Family and friends are invited to gather at a picnic gathering to honor Frank's life along with Bernice and Kevin's lives on Sunday, August 20th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Lake Bonin. For those we hold most dear never truly leave us...they live on in the kindnesses they showed, the comfort they shared and the love they brought into our lives.

GOOGE Bobby Ray of Galeton, PA Age 30, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Knoxville, PA. He was born November 26, 1975 in Savannah, GA. A resident of Galeton since 1999, he previously resided in Pembroke and Claxton, GA. Surviving are his parents, Douglas and Raya Gardner Bryant of Galeton; three brothers, Jerry (Daisy) Kriner of Aprakers, NY, John (April McNatt) Schoonover and Stevie Fail, both of Galeton; paternal grandfather, Franklin (Marilyn) Bryant of Galeton; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Saturday, August 12th, from 10-11 a.m. with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m.

HENDERSHOT Maxine O. Age 71, of 6858 Hardscrabble Road, Addison, NY, formerly of Elkland, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at the Arnot-Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at the Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc., 214 West Main Street, Elkland, PA, Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Genesee Cemetery, Genesee, PA.

KEYES David C. Age 45, of State Rte. 414 Beaver Dams, NY, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at home following an extended illness. He was born July 17, 1961 in Corning, the son of Daniel and Geraldine Parker Keyes. He married Tammy Phillips on July 16, 1988 in Beaver Dams. David graduated from Corning East High School, served in the U.S. Army and was employed by Dayspring Apartments in Corning. He was a Course Marshall with R.S.I. at Watkins Glen International, as well as an avid fan of the Jets, the Mets, hunting, fishing and car racing. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Keyes; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Erin Phillips of Painted Post, NY, David Keyes at home; his parents, Daniel and Geraldine Keyes of Corning, NY; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and David Smith of CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Anita Keyes of Bradford, NY; a granddaughter soon to arrive, Madison; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Homes on Sunday, August 13, 2006, from 2-4 p.m. and Monday, August 14, 2006, from 9-10 a.m. where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. at the conclusion of visitation with the Rev. WAGNER Blanche C. Age 93, of North Road, Middlebury Center, PA, died August 10, 2006 at Broad Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Gordon F. Wagner, who died December 29, 2000. Blanche was born October 19, 1912 in Buena Vista County, NJ, the daughter of the late George B. and Lottie Monks Cummings. She was a graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College, Class of "1934", receiving a B.S. in Public School Music and Elementary Education. She taught in the Corning-Painted Post, NY, area schools for twenty years, retiring in 1971. Blanche was a member of the Middlebury Baptist Church, Holiday, PA, and was a former member of the Middlebury Grange #705 and the Corning Area Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are three grandchildren, John (Melanie) Wagner, Wellsboro, PA, David Wagner, Addison, NY, and Julie Wagner, Holley, NY; three great-grandchildren, Gary, Kary and Lori Wagner. She was predeceased by her husband; and a son, Donald Wagner, who also died in 2000. Friends and relatives are invited to Blanche's Life Celebration on Sunday, August 13, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA. Funeral there on Monday, August 14, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Alex Perednia officiating. Burial in Tioga County Memorial Gardens. WYTRWA Anna Age 83, of Rudy Lane, Elmira, NY, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006. Anna was born in the Ukraine, daughter of the late Pete and Katherine (Haluchk) Rudy. Survivors include daughter, Alice (Robert) Desaro of Lakeworth, FL; son, Jerry Wytrva of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Nick, Kim and Eric; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Taylor and Erica. It was Anna's wishes that a private memorial service be held to the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 410 E. McCann's Blvd., Elmira Heights, NY 14903.

CHAPMAN Pearle Lillian Hulett 93, of Zolfo Springs, FL, died Thursday, August 10, 2006. Pearle was born June 21, 1913, in Sullivanville, NY. Her funeral service was held at the Robarts Funeral Home, Wauchula, FL, on Monday, August 14th. Her nephew, Keith Hulett of Horseheads, NY, officiated. She is predeceased by her father, Albert Hulett; her mother, Mary Kocourek Hulett; her brother, Joseph Hulett; and her beloved daughter, Joyce Chapman Nichols. Pearle is survived by her husband, Bernard Chapman of FL; and her two brothers, Albert Hulett of Horseheads, and Robert Hulett of Erin, NY; and a grandson, Brian Nichols.

GEE Mary J. Age 77 of Veteran Hill Rd., Horseheads, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 at Bethany Village, where she had recently been residing. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 from 1-3:00 p.m., where her service will take place at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert O. Sherburne officiating. Burial will take place privately in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira.

HASKELL Ralph M. "Brud" Age 79 of Elmira NY died Saturday, August 19, 2006 at home after an extended illness. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:15 pm and committal prayers and interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
