ROPELEWSKI Geraldine R. (Gerry) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died on Friday, February 9, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial for Geraldine R. Ropelewski will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 304 Demarest Parkway, Elmira, New York. Father Sam Matarazzo, O.P., presiding. Burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Dominican Monastery, 1310 W. Church St., Elmira, New York. The arrangements are being coordinated by McInerny Funeral Home.

ROSE Raymond C. "Ray" Age 69, of Wellsburg, NY, passed at home Wed., Feb. 7, 2007. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, from 11-1:00 p.m. where his service will follow there at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park where full Military Honors will be accorded.

SCHRAGE Arnold "Arnie" Age 83, of Pine Valley and longtime resident of Johnson Hollow Rd., was reunited in Heaven with his wife and princess, Margaret, on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads, on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, from 1-3:00 p.m. and 5-7:00 p.m. His funeral service will take place there at the funeral home on Wed., Feb. 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Elmira, where full Military Honors will be accorded.

SHAW L. Edward died February 10, 2007, two days after celebrating his 88th birthday. He was born in Elmira on February 8, 1919. Ed lived for over 36 years at 691 Fern Dell Drive, until he moved in 1994 to the Colony Park Apartments on West Water Street. In June, Ed moved to the Assisted Care Unit at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Ed served for five years in the military during World War II. He saw duty with the 1st and 4th Armored Division before becoming a B-24 pilot with the 8th Air Force Division. Ed was the Planning Engineer for the Elmira District Office of the New York Telephone Company before retiring in 1982 after 45 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Holy Name Society, Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Elmira Country Club. Ed's wife of over fifty years, Virginia O'Leary Shaw, died in 1994. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, L. Edward, Jr. and Irene Shaw of Mamaroneck, NY; five grandchildren, Christopher Shaw of Pelham, NY, Hope Shaw Bertrand of Plandome, NY, Julia Shaw Rienzo of Washington, D.C., Holly Shaw Cassin of NYC, and Rory Shaw of NYC; along with five great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Monday, February 12, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. STRYKER Elizabeth A. died Thursday, February 8, at Princeton Care Center, where she received excellent care by the second floor staff. She was born in Raleigh, NC to Dr. and Mrs. Rayford K. Adams I and moved with her family to NJ as a girl. She lived in Skillman, NJ for many years before moving to Wellsboro, PA with her husband upon retiring. She lived in Princeton for the past year. Mrs. Stryker was a registered nurse, working in both private and clinical settings. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and attending garage sales. She loved teaching children's Sunday school and did so for many years in NJ and PA. She was a longtime member of the Blawenburg Reformed Church and more recently, the Asaph/Middle Ridge United Methodist Church in Wellsboro, PA. She was also a member and past Worthy Matron of the Mary Wells Chapter, O.E.S. of Wellsboro. Mrs. Stryker is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Parvin R. Stryker; and a brother, Rayford K. Adams II. She is survived by a daughter, Nina Stryker of Princeton; sons, Ray Welkin of Olympia, WA, and Rodney B. Stryker Sr. and his wife, Sandra, of Florence, OR; and grandsons, Sam, Evan, Avery, and Rodney Jr. She is survived also by a sister and brother-in-law, Marybelle and Thomas D. Sales, Bethlehem, PA; and sister-in-law, Betsy Van Zandt Adams of Greensboro, SC; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place 11 a.m. Saturday at Westerly Road Church, 25 Westerly Rd., Princeton, NJ, with the Reverend Richard Van Doren of Blawenburg Reformed Church officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Blawenburg Reformed Church cemetery with a reception in Cook Hall at the Blawenburg Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell, NJ 08525. WATTS John S. Age 72, of Horseheads, NY, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothea Woidzik Watts; sons, Michael (Caren Callahan) Watts of Lawrenceburg, KY, Kevin (Cindy) Watts of New Brighton, MN, and Andrew (Janet) Watts of Essex Junction, VT; daughters, Elizabeth (Deacon Frank) Pettrone of Rochester, NY, Stephanie (Guy) Tanguay of Camp Hill, PA, and Celeste Will of Smyrna, GA; 19 grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Melvin) Wendrick of Pinetop, AZ, and Patricia (Robert) Pietrasik of Austin, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John graduated from St. John Fisher College, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant into the US Marine Corps, serving his country in Quantico, VA, and Camp Pendelton, CA, from 1956-1959. He enjoyed a 32-year career with IBM Elmira, NY, as a senior systems engineer. After retiring, he became a more active parishioner of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. He was an extraordinary minister of Communion, conducted a Communion Service at Bethany Manor regularly, sang in the St. Mary Our Mother Resurrection Choir, volunteered at the church festival, belonged to the Nocturnal Adoration Society and was a member of the Polish Arts Club. John was a devoted father, grandfather and friend who touched many lives. He will be dearly missed by all. The family will welcome friends at the family home at 119 Scenic Dr., Horseheads, NY, on Tuesday February 13, 2007, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad, Horseheads, NY, on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 10 a.m. John will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery. The family will provide their own flowers but those wishing to remember John may do so through memorials to St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. BARTLOW Cassilee A. Age 45, of Gillett, PA, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007, at her home. Survivors include her husband, Rickie Bartlow Sr. of Gillett; daughter, Rebecca Bartlow; son, Rickie Bartlow Jr.; mother, Cassie Breese; stepmother, Karen Ricker; many brothers and sisters. Cassilee was predeceased by her daughter, Romona Bartlow in 2006; and her father, Leeland Breese in 2006. A memorial service will be held on May 5, 2007 at 3PM in the Ridgeberry Volunteer Firemen's Hall in Bentley Creek, PA.

CRAMER Ashley Nicole age 20 of Wellsburg, NY went to be with her Mom very unexpectedly on Tuesday February 27, 2007 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Ashley was born February 12, 1987 in Elmira, NY the daughter of David L. and Kathleen J. Walton Cramer. She was pre-deceased by her mother Kathleen J. Walton Cramer, who passed away on March 18, 2003. Ashley is survived by her dad David L. Cramer; brothers Jonathon Walton and Davey Cramer at home and Walter Cramer of Elmira; sisters Brianna Weiskopff of Lowman, Amy Wilson of Hornell and Carina Cramer of Elmira; grandparents Luella Barker of Hornell and Carolyn & Ed Walton of Horseheads. She is also survived by paternal uncle Steve (Karen) Barker of Hornell and aunt Wendy (Bob) Wood of Hornell; maternal aunts and uncles: special aunt & uncle and godparents Nancy & George Levack of Elmira, Chris (Ed) Mathews of Lowman, Debbie (Pete) Palmieri of Erin, Eddie (Julie) Walton of Elmira Heights, Joyce (Brian Gregory) Callahan of Elmira, Patti (Dave) Stedman of Illinois, Susan (Steve) Pesesky of Elmira, David (Mary Jane) Walton of Chemung; several cousins and friends including a special cousin and best friend Manda (Mike Torrence) Levack, special friend Andy Coates, special bus driver Karen Newton, special teacher Mr. Smock, and her canine friends Ippy and Zoie. Ashley was "Daddy's Girl" with each holding a special place in the other's heart. Ashley attended Thomas A. Edison High School in the special education class where she enjoyed learning and singing while proudly working at Southern Tier Industries in Elmira. Ashley was a very loving, beautiful, caring, positive, and cheerful person. She was the star at every gathering because of her friendly and cheerful personality along with her beautiful smile. Ashley had many interest including singing, dancing, playing uno, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends. Ashley was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of meeting and knowing her. ERVIN Pauline A. Age 80, of Elmira, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital. FLETCHER Harmon Edgar Age 92, of Appleridge Apartments in Horseheads, formerly of Pine City, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at the Bath VA. KUSS Leo V. Age 83, of Elmira, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Leo was born June 10, 1923 in Corning NY, a son of Leo V. and Theresa (Dick) Kuss. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Renee Mussillier Kuss; daughter and son-in-law Annick M. and Christopher W. Norton of Malvern, OH; grandchildren, Christopher L. (Tammy J.) Norton, of Dover, OH, Renee L. (Kevin) Barley, of Minerva, OH, David P. (Marcy A.) Norton, of Stow, OH, and Michelle A. Norton of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great-grandchildren, U.S. Army Pfc. Christopher R. Norton of New Jersey, Todd J. and Victoria Norton of Ohio, Alicia Bence of Arizona and Nicholas Bence of Ohio, Alana and Kaileigh Norton of Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, James D. and Shirley Kuttner of Montour Falls, NY; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rene J. and Yvonne Mussillier, and Paulette Mussillier, all of France; along with several nieces and nephews. Leo is predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Giselle Mussillier, Bernard Mussillier, Andree Mussillier and Francoise Mussillier Ausperk. Leo served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps as a military war correspondent. That was the start of his career in journalism. After the war Leo remained in Paris, France and was a free lance journalist. While living in Paris he attended the Sorbonne. Leo eventually moved back to Elmira where he worked for the Elmira Advertiser. At the Advertiser he held the positions of sports editor, city editor and news editor. The Advertiser then merged with the Star-Gazette. While at the Star-Gazette, Leo worked as a sports writer, regional editor and retired in 1978 as the news editor. Leo was a life member of the American Legion, Post 1 in Paris, a member of P.V.C. and IBF in Paris and also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #941 in Elmira. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. MCCONAGHAY Jeanne L. of Springfield, VA, formerly of Galeton, PA Age 88, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Renaissance Gardens in Green Spring Village, Springfield, VA. Born April 3, 1918 in Galeton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Norbert and Lucie (Kohn) Brown. She graduated from Galeton High School. She then graduated from Mansfield State Teacher's College in 1939. On April 16, 1949 in Galeton, she married LeRoy J. McConaghay, who predeceased her in 1999. Mrs. McConaghay was a teacher in the Galeton Elementary School retiring in 1978. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Business and Professional Women, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Surviving are a daughter, Merri (Robert) Mukai of Annandale, VA; two grandsons, Jonathan and Thomas Mukai, both of Annandale; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; and a brother, Norwood Brown. Friends may call Monday, March 5, 2007, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, PA. BARONE Victor J. Age 79, of Elmira, NY. He was born June 4, 1927 in Pittston, PA, son of the late Victor Edward and Helen Margaret (Pesta) Barone and passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was predeceased by his sister, Bertha Szabatura; and is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ann (Hurley) Barone; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Kevin Anderson, Karen and Michael Lepkoske, all of Elmira; grandchildren, Kristen and Joseph Tremblay of Alton Bay, NH, Keri Powers, Ashley and Marissa Lepkoske, all of Elmira; brothers and sister-in-law, Leon and Wilma Barone of Elmira Heights, Raymond Barone of Horseheads; brother-in-law, Raymond Szabatura of Victor, NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Ellen Kubiak of Wilton, NY, Charles and Marian Bristow of Land O' Lakes, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. Victor was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed life to the fullest, especially with his family and friends, and enjoyed being part of the "breakfast club" Thursdays and Sundays at the southside McDonald's. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Southside, retired from Westinghouse Corp., was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War, and was an avid fisherman. BLISS Mildred Age 85 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday March 5, 2007 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. EDGER Edward H. Age 68, of Horseheads, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Monday, March 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. His funeral service will be held there on Tuesday, March 13th at 10 a.m. Rev. GIAMMICHELE Anthony C. "Tony" Of Napanoch, NY, a resident since 1965 and a 33-year retired sergeant at Eastern New York Correctional Facility, Napanoch, died March 8, 2007 at his home. He was 69. The son of Nicola C. and Domanica Rosa D'Addamio, he was born March 19, 1937 in Elmira. He was a member of the Ellenville Elks Lodge #1971 and served in the United States Navy. Tony was active in the Little League. Survivors include his wife, Millicent Ingham Giammichele, at home; children, Michael Giammichele of Ellenville, Theresa Hyatt of Ellenville, Mark and his wife, Sherry of Accord, Anthony "A.J." Giammichele and his wife, Joy of New Hampshire; stepson, Michael McDole of Bonita Springs, FL; brothers, Rocco Giammichele of Elmira and Nicholas Giammichele of New Port Richie, FL; sisters, Julia Butters of Elmira, and Yolanda Kidney of New Port Richie, FL; grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent, Robert, Madeleine, Steven and Joseph Giammichele, Andrew and Tyler Hyatt; and step granddaughter, Vanessa McDole; his former wife, Patricia S. McKay; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He is predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Raymond; and a sister, Clara Sheldon. Friends may call at Loucks Funeral Home, Inc., 79 N. KENT Mr. Donald James 60, of 1955 Candlewick Dr., Fort Mill, SC, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church, Elmira, NY, on Monday, March 12, at 10:00 a.m.

LANE Robert J. Age 39, of Bradford, NY, formerly of Wellsboro, PA, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007, unexpectedly. Robert was born March 29, 1967 in Wellboro, PA, son of Walter and Verna Hollenbach Lane. He served in the US Army and married Heidi Mosher October 7, 1989 in Tioga, PA. Bob was employed by Colonial Natural Gas in Rock Stream, NY, and was a proud lifelong member of the Pirate Association. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, baseball, Penn State games, and landscape and nature painting. Surviving Bob are his wife, Heidi; and children, Steven and Katherine Lane of Bradford; his parents, Walter and Verna Lane of Wellsboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Robbi Lane of Bethel, PA; grandmother, Edna Hollenbach of Bethel, PA; nephew, Sean Lane; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Erica Mosher of North Port, FL, formerly of Tioga, PA; a brother-in-law, Randy Mosher of Williamsport, PA; along with several close friends. Friends are invited to call at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY, on Tuesday, March 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will be at the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation (4 p.m.). MCNANEY Jay N. Services celebrating Jay's life were held on Tuesday March 6, 2007 at McInerny Funeral Home presided by Father Richard Farrell. Interment and Military Honors were held at St. Andrew's Cemetery, Blossburg, PA on Wednesday March 7, 2007. Pallbearers were Mark McNaney, Adam McNaney, Kieran McNaney, Herbert Furman, Matthew Furman, Randy Huffner and Steve Puglisi.
