Heather is survived by her mother, Deette Szymanski of Elmira; father and stepmother, Michael and Tena (Strait) Brimmer of Millerton, PA; children, Sierra Hoffman, Krisgin Szymanski, Dacoda Szymanski, Benjermin Decker; sisters, Chasity Szymanski of Wellsboro, PA, Keri (Preston) Strait of Millerton, PA, Melissa Strait of Ithaca, NY, Trisha Brimmer of Millerton, PA; brothers, Shawn Szymanski of Elmira, NY, Michael Brimmer of Chemung, NY; grandparents, Charles and Gladys Brimmer of Elmira, NY; fiancé, Brian Decker of Elmira, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Heather was very well liked and had many loving friends. She lived her life for her children. She was a lover of the outdoors, camping, and country music. Heather was an employment shift supervisor for Subway subs in Wellsboro, PA. There she not only gained priceless friendships, but also the respect of all her employees. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will dearly miss her. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Sunday, November 13th, 2005 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. The family invites friends to a gathering between the calling hours at the First Church of the Nazarene at 1136 Broadway Street, Elmira. A dish to pass is requested from those attending the gathering. Funeral and committal services celebrating Heather’s life will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 9 PM. The Reverend John Stoner will officiate.

Age 54, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his own home on Saturday, June 10, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Born August 18, 1951 in Elmira, NY, he was the son of Lee and Bertha Greenwalt. Kenneth worked for CAF-USA in Elmira Heights, NY for over 20 years and served as a quality inspector for the last eight years of his employment. He was a certified welding inspector (CWI). He was an avid hunter, enjoyed performing small engine repairs, woodworking, bowling, horseshoe pitching, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin in May 2004 and his sister-in-law, Gladys Friends in June 2002. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Glenda M. (Horton) Greenwalt; his five beloved children, Shawn of Lawrenceville, Steven and his fiance, April Schriner of Tioga, Sabrina, Seth and Sterling all of Lawrenceville; his parents, Lee and Bertha of Lawrenceville; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Donald Kriner also of Lawrenceville; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Scott Keck of Wellsboro; three grandchildren, Brooke and Logan Greenwalt of Lawrenceville; Tehya Greenwalt of Tioga; mother-in-law, Agnes Horton of Lawrenceville; brother-in-law, Glenn Friends of Millerton, brother-in-law, Jim Horton and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Greenwalt both of Lawrenceville; uncle and aunt, James and Tuy Steele of Sun City West, AZ. He is also survived by five nieces, a nephew, two great nephews, a great niece, several cousins, good friends Crystal Stickler and Aaron Low, and many other friends. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904. Services honoring Kenneths life will follow the visitation. (5 PM) The Reverend G. Victor Perry will celebrate his service. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Stephanie was a secretary of United Cerebral Palsy of Chemung County. She graduated from SHS Class of 92 and from Elmira Business Institute. Luther was active in Troop #47 of the Boy Scouts of America for several years. He was a member of the Rotary, the Masons, Corning Consistory and was a former Secretary of the National Hide Association. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Lawrence was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the South Pacific in World War II. He was a truck driver for Rubin Auto Parts for 25 years, a job he loved. Mr. Chilson enjoyed his hobbies of wood and metalworking. His main focus in life was his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth; and his children; son, Wade of CA, son, David, his wife Kelli and their son, Daniel of NYC; son, Brian and his girlfriend Janet Williams; daughter, Catherine and her husband, Richard Todd of Pine City and their children Rachel, Eric, Helen and Kevin; brother-in-law, Roland Thomas; many nieces and nephews. Jean married Ted on June 30, 1951 in Waverly, NY at the United Methodist Church. They have enjoyed 55 wonderful years of life and love together. She is survived by her loving husband, Ted; beloved grandson, Teddy; dearly loved children, Linda (Chris) Lockwood Sr. of Elmira, NY; Ted Swan Jr. of Elmira, NY; Karen Kasey (Willy) Clark of Elmira, NY; Barb (Nick) Longo of Ithaca, NY; Tom (Sue) Swan of Elmira, NY; sister, Barbara (Alfred) Segar; sister-in-laws, Donna Park and Phyllis Park; brother-in-law, Charles (JoAnn) Hack; along with 10 much-loved grandchildren, 6 adored great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and her church family. Her sister, Mary Hack; brothers, William, Ronald and Kenneth Park predeceased her. Jean was a member of the North Chemung United Methodist and the OES Chapter # 460 Breesport, NY. For many dedicated years, she ran and operated the Food Pantry at the North Chemung United Methodist Church. Jean enjoyed playing Bingo and loved her crossword puzzle books. She made it her job to constantly care for those she loved and accomplished that by her love of cooking for others. Above all, Jean was devoted to her family and church. William is survived by his daughters and sons in-law, Linda and Lewis Elia, Carol and John Pendleton, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kevin and Karen Sweet their children Brendan and Lauren, Shannon and Marc Stemerman their children Chloe and Jack, Michael and Shannon Pendleton their children McKayla, Evan and Abbi. Bill was a hard working man, dedicated husband and father. He truly enjoyed and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. An avid reader, Bill loved the outdoors, camping and good food. He spent many years with the Boy Scouts Troop 6 of Elmira. His dedication to the Scouts earned him the Silver Beaver Award. Other interests included Chemung County history, Mark Twain, travel and photography. There will be no calling hours, a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Anne Wintermute, daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Robert Barton all of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Adam Wintermute; Jeremy Jordan and Joshua Passage; great grandson, Chavez; brother, Earl (Genny) Wintermute of Bentley Creek, PA; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends and family he loved dearly. John retired from the Ingersoll Rand Company in Athens, PA after 30 + years of dedicated service as a machinist. He was a Veteran of US Army and proudly served his country from 1948 1952. He will always be remembered for being a loving husband, devoted father and beloved grandfather. She passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side. Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Rick and their three children: Teri, Brett, and Jarid as well as a beloved granddaughter, Kaitlyn, all of Elmira. Brett was able to return home from defending our nation in Iraq to be with is mother. Jo Ann is also survived by her mother, Arta Tarby of Elmira Heights as well as her siblings: Sharon Mion (Gordon), of Titusville, FL; Dee Dee Banks (Larry) of Lima, NY; Steven Tarby, Jr., of Lexington Park, MD; Eileen Bednar (John) of Elmira, NY; and Janet McMasters (Tim Sutton) of Elmira Heights. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Lillian York; Her sister-in-law, Debbie Miller (Dan), and brother-in-law, John York. Jo Ann is also blessed with many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends and supporters. She proudly served her community for 25 years working at Arnot Ogden Medical Center as a Respiratory Therapist where she made many wonderful friends over the years. Jo Ann is predeceased by her father, Steven Tarby, Sr., and her father-in-law, Richard York, Sr. Loved ones are asked to join in the celebration of Jo Ann’s life at Olthof’s Funeral Home from 2-4 pm, and from 6-8 pm on Monday, October 30th; and on Tuesday, October 31st at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church on Franklin Street in Elmira. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following the service at the St. Mary’s Community Center. A private burial will take place on Wednesday at Woodlawn National Cemetery for the immediate family at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Teri York Brown, to be held in trust for the children and granddaughter for educational purposes.
