Dorothy E. Collins, 74 years of Village Square Apartments, Painted Post, NY and formerly of East Second Street, Corning, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the Corning Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1930 in Paris City, PA, the daughter of the late Lester and Cynthia Freeman Gleason, and received her education in the Pennsylvania School System.
Dorothy and William S. Collins were married and resided in Corning. Dorothy was employed as a Quality Control Inspector with Corning Inc., retiring in 1980 with 20 years active service.
She was a member of AFGWU Local 1000, Helping Hands of Corning Hospital and Hospital Chapter H. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and relaxing with her craft projects. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling and meeting new friends along the way.
Surviving her sons; William B. (Catherine) Collins and Mack T. (Alicia) Collins all of Corning, NY and daughter; Marcia (Martin) Cunningham of Corning, NY. Grandchildren; James, Christopher and Casey Anne Cunningham and Natalie, William and Aaron Collins. Step Grandchildren; Melissa Horton and Amy Holland. Step great Grandchildren; Ashley, Zachary, Julius, Quinn and Abigail Horton and Christopher Holland. Three sisters; Betty Maxwell of Lindley, Nellie Smith of Addison, NY and Mabel Johnson of Elmira, NY. Also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St, Corning, NY, Saturday, January 15, 2005 from 1-3pm with a Funeral Service to follow at the conclusion of visitation (3pm) . Committal Prayers and Interment will be held at the family plot in Hope Cemetery, Corning, NY.

Edward Riesbeck
Corning, NY
Edward (Ed) A. Riesbeck, 87 years, of 236 Sly Ave, died Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Waters of Three Rivers.
He was born February 2, 1917 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Lewis & Ida Schmucker Riesbeck. A lifetime resident of the Corning/Elmira area, graduating from Elmira Free Academy, and Elmira Business Institute.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II (1941-45) serving as Master Sergeant with the 736 Filed Artillery Division in the Third Army receiving the Bronze Star.
Ed and Eileen Quinn were married November 13, 1943 in Salinas, CA.
He was employed as office manager with Redfield Motors of Corning, NY retiring in 1999 with 50 years service with the company.
Ed was a member of All Saints Parish attending St. Vincent de Paul Church, a charter member of the St. Pius the Tenth Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order, a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. He also served as Eighth Ward Alderman in the City of Corning, and was a Board Member of the Corning Library.
Surviving his wife of 61 years, Eileen Quinn Riesbeck. Sons; Christopher (Maxine) Riesbeck of Wilmette, IL, Mark (Ruth) Riesbeck of Painted Post, NY, Stephen (Judy) Riesbeck of Owego, NY, Eric (Diana) Riesbeck of Beaver Dams, NY and Donald (Wendy) Riesbeck of Owego, NY. Daughters; Jenifer Paquette of Corning, NY and Nancy Riesbeck of Elmira Heights, NY. 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St, Corning, NY, Wed. Jan. 12, 2005 from 4-7pm. A Prayer Service will be offered at the funeral home, Thurs. Jan. 13, 2005 at 9:15am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00am St. Vincent de Paul Church, Corning. Committal Prayers and Interment will be at the family plot, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family would appreciate Memorial Donation’s be given in Ed’s name to All Saint’s Parish, 222 Dodge Ave, Corning, NY 14830, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Elaine Rose Hepworth
Elmira, NY
Elaine Rose Hepworth, 83 years of Dayspring I Apts. Corning, NY, died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was born September 7, 1921 the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Ocello Multari. She was a graduate of the Ithaca School System.
Elaine and H. John Hepworth Sr. Were married. He predeceased her in 1977.
She and her husband had owned and managed the Grove Diner in Addison, NY. She retired as accountant/secretary from the Corning YMCA.
Elaine was a loving person, always caring and doing for others. Truly devoted to her family.
Surviving her Grandchildren; Joshua Hepworth and Erica Nicole Hepworth both of Corning, NY, Sisters; Mary Tapson of Chicago, IL, and Violet Multari of Ithaca, NY. Also several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son John K. Hepworth and daughter-in-law; Susan K. Hepworth.
Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St, Corning, NY Friday, January 14, 2005 from 3-5pm with Funeral & Committal Services at the conclusion of visitation, 5pm.
Interment will be in the Rural Home Cemetery, Addison, NY.

Jeffrey Arrison

Jeffrey C. Arrison, 45 years of Founders Pavilion, formerly of Powderhouse Road, Corning, NY died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Corning Hospital.
He was born September 24, 1959 in Dansville, NY, the son of Pearson C.and Beverly LaBrie Arrison.
Jeffrey was a graduate of Corning Painted Post West High and had been employed as a cook for the Red Barn Restaurant.
He was a member of AIM and the Board of Directors.
Surviving his father and step-mother; Pearson and Penny Arrison of Corning, NY, Brother; Mark (Jenny) Arrison of Lansing, NY. Loving Uncle of Kayla, Kelsey, and Kyle Arrison. Maternal Grandmother; Viola Erickson of Ghent, NY and Aunt & Uncle; Emily and Jack Rossa of Naples, FL.
He was predeceased by his mother Beverly Arrison in 1997.

James Ketchum
Elmira NY
James (Jim) Richard Ketchum64 years of 466 Gridley Road, Bradford, NY, died Friday January 7, 2005 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY.
He was born November 18, 1940 in Corning, NY, the son of the late George Sr. and Margaret Cowley Ketchum. A lifetime resident of the area and graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School and Corning Free Academy (class of 1958). He was a veteran of the United States
Army, serving from 1963-1965.
Jim and Barbara L. Agan were married September 27, 1997 in Inverness, Fl.
He was employed with Corning Inc., working in the Hand Shop also with Switzer Aircraft (security department) and retired from Proaction in December 2002.
He was a devoted and loving husband, with a marvelous sense of humor, which he shared with many, many friends. Jim enjoyed spending time at home and gardening. Trains were his hobby and interest and he enjoyed traveling on many trips on the trains.
Surviving his wife; Barbara. Two sisters; Loraine Luedeman of Inverness, FL and Beatrice Church of Orlando, FL. Brother; George (Theresa) Ketchum of Painted Post, NY. Also several nieces, nephews and six great nieces.
There will be calling hours at the Haughey Funeral Hime, 216 E. First St., Corning, NY Sunday January 9, 2005 from 1-3pm, with Funeral and Committal Services to follow at the conclusion of visitation(3pm), Rev. Gerald O'Connor officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Shirley Trautner

Shirley A. Trautner, loving wife, mother, and grandmother,72 years of 446 Tobey Road, Lindley, NY died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Robert Packer Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1932 in Lawrenceville, PA, the daughter of the late Herman T. And Susie Ball. and was a graduate of the Painted Post School system.
Shirley and Frank W. Trautner, Jr., were married in Painted Post Nov. 25, 1950, and recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
She had been employed with Corning Glass Works, The Federal Censes Bureau, and the Town of Lindley Board of Elections.
Shirley was a lifetime member and a Past Nobel Grand of the Rebeccahs with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. She had been and member of the PTA, a Girl Scout Leader, and the Sunshine Lady with the Lindley Community Church.
She is survived by her husband, Frank, three daughters; Nancy (CB) Bryant, Patricia (David) Cardona, Mary Catherine (Jimmy) Clark, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Brothers; Franklin Ball of Florida, William Ball of Corning, NY and Raymond Ball Lindley, NY, sisters; Norma Wilson of Lindley, June Haskins of Lindley, NY, Beulah Bates of Lindley, Evelyn Dibble of Woodhull, NY, and Anna Quaily of Elmira, NY. Also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers; Herman Ball, Donald Ball, and sisters; Bessie Thornberg and Ellen Benza.
There will be no calling hours. A private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family would appreciate Memorial Donations be given in Shirley’s name to the Corning Hospital, 176 Denison Pkwy East, Corning, NY 14830.

Anthony "Tony" Tojek
Big Flats, NY
Anthony (Tony) Peter Tojek, Jr., 69 years of 2856 County Line Drive, died Friday, December 31, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Buffalo, NY, September 7, 1935 son of the late Anthony Peter and Josephine Tokarczyk Tojek.
Tony was a graduate of Lackawana High School, Erie Community College and RIT. He was a veteran of the United States Army with active service during 1953-57 and continued with the Reserves from 1957-1962.
Tony and Joan D. Sarna were married May 23, 1959 at the Lady of Victory Bacilica in Lackawana, NY.
He was employed with Corning Incorporated, as a Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Department, retiring in 1994 with 30 years service.
He was a member of All Saint’s Parish, Corning YMCA and the Clemens Center. Tony was a loving and caring husband, gather and grandfather. He enjoyed the company of family and friends and dining on the deck. He also was an avid racket ball player.
Surviving his wife of 45 years, Joan. Sons; Anthony William (Sharon) Tojek of Buffalo, NY and Kenneth James (Kelly) Tojek of Cobb Island, MD. Daughter; Monica Marie Tojek of Brooklyn, NY. Grandchildren; Jennifer, Anthony and Kylie Tojek. Sister; Jean (Frank) Genek of Orchard Park, NY, brother; Thaddeus "Butch" (Rose) Tojek of Lackawana, NY, sisters-in-law; Sylvia (George) Vertalino of Pike, NY, Diane MacDougall of Buffalo, NY and Vivian Sarna of Hamburg, NY. Also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law; William Sarna and Larry MacDougall.

Joseph L. Mason

Joseph L. Mason, 58 years, loving husband, father and grandfather, of 182 East Second Street, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 at his home.
He was born September 14, 1946 in Punxsutawney , PA the son of the late Charles and Pauline Funair Mason.
He was a graduate of Wellsboro High School, Corning Community College and had attended the University of Albuquerque, NM. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Conflict (1967-1970) and also served in the reserves following active duty (1970-1973).
Joe and Debra A Gasparri were married November 28, 1981 in the First Presbyterian Church in Painted Post, NY.
He was employed as a Laboratory Technician for Corning Inc, retiring in 2001. Following retirement he was employed with P&C Food Markets.
Joe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Painted Post, NY, Past Exalted Ruler of the Corning Lodge of Elks #1071 and Chairman for Major Projects at the Elks Club, a member of the Corning National Little League (Coach & Umpire) for over 20 years. He also had served as Basketball coach for the Corning YMCA. Joe was interested in his community and it’s people, he was always there when someone needed help. He was a great family man. He will truly be missed by all.
Surviving his wife; Debra, son; Michael J. Mason at home, Step-daughters; Dorey M. (Warren) McIntyre and Deanna L. Soper and Grandchildren; Joshua, Dakota and Zoey all of Corning, NY. Brother-in-law; Tony (Jill) Gasparri of Painted Post, NY, nephews; Tony Gasparri II and Francis Gasparri.

Louis Beckhorn

Louis A. Beckhorn, 92 years of Frog Hollow Road, died Sunday, December 26, 2004 at the Waters of Three Rivers.
He was born July 21, 1912 in Himrod, NY, son of the late Arthur C. and Mabel Cheney Beckhorn. Louis was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy and Elmira Business Institute.
Louis and Lauretta Thompson were married September 17, 1937 in Branchport, NY and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
He was a veteran Sergeant of the US Army during World War II, from 1943-46 serving in the Pacific Theater Overseas, Guata Canal, and Japan.
He was a member of the Coopers Plains United Methodist Church, and the Savona Masonic Lodge #755.
Louis was retired as the supervisor for the Parts Service Department of Ingersoll Rand Company with 34 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife; Lauretta, brother; Duane W. Beckhorn of Alexandria, VA, sister; Blanche (Mrs. Herbert) Fisk of Fulton, NY, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother; Ralph Beckhorn.
Friends and family may call the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St, Corning, NY, Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 from 1-3pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00pm, the Rev. David Wolcott officiating. Interment will be in the family plot of Fairview Cemetery.

F. Pauline Peck, 61 yeas of Waverly, NY, died Sunday, December 26, 2004 at Robert Packer Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1943 in Corning, NY, daughter of the late Franklin and Lucy Main Hackett. A lifetime resident of the Corning/Waverly area, she attended Corning Free Academy, and her schooling continued for her to receive her title as LPN. She was a retired employee of the Tioga County Nursing Facility.
Pauline and Guy "Lenny" Peck were married in Corning in 1961.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Guy Peck Jr, Theresa Sommers, Michael Peck, Matthew Peck, James Peck and Brenda Peck, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Sister and brother-in-law; Gwen and Charles Warunek Jr, of Corning, NY, also several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son; Mark V. Peck.

Mary Patricia Griffin Ward
Bath, NY
Mary Patricia "Pat" Griffin Ward, formerly of Highland Drive, Corning, NY died Friday, December 24, 2004.
Born in Corning, NY, March 17, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter M. And Mary McGannon Griffin. Pat was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School, Corning Free Academy and Georgetown Visitation College, Washington, DC.
After employment at Providence Hospital and the US House of Representatives in the office of the Honorable W. Sterling Cole, in Washington, DC, she returned to Corning and owned and operated the Corning Secretarial School. Following that, she was an executive secretary in the Horseheads Plant of Westinghouse.
In September of 1960 she and Richard C. Ward of Corning, NY were married at` Bushnell’s Basin near Pittsford, NY. He predeceased her January 9, 1998.
Mrs. Ward was a communicant of All Saint’s Parish attending St. Mary’s Church, and a member of the Rosary Society. She was a charter member of the Corning-Painted Post Historical Society and a member of the Corning Museum of Glass, the Rockwell Museum and a former member of the Corning Area Women’s Club, and the Elmira Art Club.
She is survived brother and sister-in-law; D. David and Shirley K. Griffin of Hammondsport, NY two nieces; Michelle (Michael) Quattrini of Corning, NY, Stephany Griffin of Laguna Beach, CA, nephew; Daniel D. Griffin of Hammondsport, NY and one great-nephew; Richard Miller III of Vale, CO.
She was predeceased by her brother; Peter A. Griffin.
Arrangements are with the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St, Corning, NY. At her request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held 9:30am, Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at St. Mary’s Church, Corning, NY. Interment will be in the Dwyer-McGannon Family plot at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
