DeFrank, Joseph Sr., Age 95, died peacefully at his home April 4, 2001. Survived by loving wife, Florence; sons, Joseph (Beryl) DeFrank Jr., Dale (Ellen) DeFrank, Gary DeFrank, Roger (Kathy) DeFrancesco, Scott DeFrancesco, Todd DeFrank; daughter, Madelyn Welsh; several grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A private service was conducted at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley at the convenience of the family. Interment in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Orleans County or Holley Emergency Squad.

Fox, Sister Carol RSM, April 9, 2001. Survived by brothers, Herbert (Lois) Fox of Wilmington, North Carolina, Robert Fox of Webster; sisters Lorraine Kirkingburg of Albemarle, North Carolina, Billie (Donald) Estey of Rochester, Beverly (Karl) Jacobs of Maryville, Tennessee; and brother, William (Dorothy) Fox of Dexter, New York; several nieces and nephews; loving and blessed friend, Chris McCabe and the Sisters of Mercy. Preceded in death by father and mother William and Violet Fox, and sisters, Violet Darling and Jeanneta Fox..
A Funeral Mass was said April 11 at St. Christopher Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be made to Sisters of Mercy, American Cancer Society, St. Christopher Church or Genesee St. Campus of Unity Health Systems, 89 Genesee Street, Rochester 14611 in her memory.

Ives, Erika J., Went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 5, 2001. Predeceased by her husband, Donald Ives. Survived by her sister, Lisa Rueckert; brothers, Heinz (Eva) Schroeder and Ernst (Renate) Schroeder; 5 nieces, 5 nephews; her brother-in-law, Robert (Marie) Ives; sister-in-law, Bette (Angus) Hopkins. She will be missed by many loving friends, neighbors and family.
A Memorial Service was held April 7 at The United Methodist Church of North Chili. Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in her memory.

Muszak, John J., April 5, 2001 at age 85. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Stella "Joan" Muszak; his children, Janice (Joseph) Scoppa of Spencerport, Martin (Kay) Muszak of Irondequoit and James (Kim) Muszak of Spencerport; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; five sisters, Kay Lissow, Virginia and Dorothy Muszak, Bernice Marianetti and Florence (Ralph) Andrade; several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company.
A Funeral Mass was held April 9 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Contribu-tions can be made to Lakeside Foundation, 156 West Avenue, Brockport 14420 in his memory.

Merritt, Ryan P., Suddenly, April 20, 2001 at age 17. He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Sue Merritt; sister, Lindsay Merritt; maternal grandparents, John and Janet Butler; paternal grandparents, Fred and Sue Merritt; great-grandmother, Frances Shannon; god-parents, Anne Siegl and Patrick Merritt; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends.
A Funeral Mass celebrating his life was held April 23 at St. Lawrence Church. Interment Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Ryan Merritt Scholarship Fund, C/O Thomas A. Merritt, P.O. Box 745, Hilton, 14468 in his memory.

Jenks, Clifford A., age 89, a die cast operator at Rochester Products prior to his retirement in 1974, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at Kirkhaven Nursing Home in Rochester.
Mr. Jenks was born September 20, 1911 in LeRoy, a son of the late William and Alicia Spaker Jenks Kelly. He was a member of Stone Church Presbyterian Church and Merrill-Sackett-White Post of the American Legion and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
His wife, Esther G. Gay Jenks died in 1997. Mr. Jenks is survived by three daughters, Helen Tramp of Scottsville, Carol (Douglas) Sullivan of North Chili; and Sharon (Gregory) Eberling of Chili; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Schultz of Henrietta; a brother-in-law, Ralph Harper of Penfield; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Robert Jenks, Wilma Jenks and Carietta Summers.
Services were held April 26 at Stone Church Presbyterian Church. Burial in Stone Church Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Stone Church Presbyterian Church, 7549 South Lake Road, Bergen 14416 or Kirkhaven Nursing Home, 254 Alexander Street, Rochester 14607.

West, Mildred I. "Millie," April 17, 2001 at age 90. Predeceased by her husband, Frank; sons, Francis, Frank and Edward; daughter, Shirley Howell. She is survived by her children, Robert (Connie) West. Dorothy Kuhn, Helen Runion, Carol Wolf; daughters-in-law, Lois West, Diane West, Caralee West; many grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; one sister-in-law, many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was held April 21 at St. Theodore's Church. Interment, St. Brigid's Cemetery, Bergen. Donations can be made to St. Bridget's Church, 14 Mark Street, 14605 in her memory.

Mooney, Michael Lawrence, (Larry), 53, on April 23, 2001 at Lakeside Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Mooney was born in 1948 to the late Michael A. and Violet (Robinette) Mooney. He was a graduate of Holley Central School, class of 1967.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Amy (Richard) Ashbery of Holley, Charles (Donna) Mooney of California, Gary Mooney, Daniel Mooney, Dale (Belinda) Mooney and Pam (Gary) Shanholtz, all of Maryland. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held April 26 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment, Hillside Cemetery.

Rhodes, Bessie Ruth, March 6, 2001 at age 85 at Lakeside Beikirch Care Center. Predeceased by her brother, Ralph E. Rhodes, Jr. of Ohio and nephew, Thomas Tessina. Survived by her sisters, Edna Tessina of Webster, Vivian (Charles) Roman; sister-in-law, Marilyn Rhodes of Ohio; nieces and nephews. She was a dental hygienist for 46 years with Dr. George Bott and Dr. Harold Craw in Brockport.
A Memorial Service was held April 28 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, 170 West Avenue, Brockport 14420 or Hospice of Rochester.

Freeman, Bessie M. (Dermody), April 19, 2001 at age 87. She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Freeman Jr. She is survived by her son, John M. (Trisha) Freeman of Rochester; four daughters, Teresa (John) McFee of Colorado, Janis (Marty) Siegel of Maryland, Susan Freeman of Latham and Lisa (Tom Skeen) Freeman of Churchville; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was said April 21 at St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Rochester Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or to Strong Memorial Hospital (Hospice Unit), Unit 61400, in her memory.

Riley, Charles J., April 20, 2001. He was predeceased April 4, 2001 by his wife of 51 years, Berneda (Wood) Riley. He is survived by two daughters, Susan (Daryl) Prevost of North Chili and Berneda Tascione and Michael Dunphrey of Rochester; two grandsons; sister-in-law, Peg Nesbitt. He was an Army veteran of WWII as a member of the 475th Infantry "Merrill's Marauders;" past commander of Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post #954; a member of Churchville Lodge #667 F.&A.M. and was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company.
A Memorial Service was held April 22 at Union Congregational UCC, Churchville. Interment, Mt. Rest Cemetery, Bergen. Contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund of Union Congregational UCC in his memory.
