Ronald Walters
July 19, 1999
Ronald C. Walters, 58, of Gloversville, died Monday at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
Born April 15, 1941, in Gloversville, he was the son of George L. and Martha B. Buyce Walters.
He was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Gloversville High School.
During the Vietnam war, he served with the Navy.
For more than 20 years, Mr. Walters was a sergeant with the Fulton County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. Walters was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He married Joanne Taylor Nov. 23, 1979.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Brenda Carter, Deborah Walters and Amy Jo Marie Walters, all of Gloversville; a stepson, Gary Lott of Gloversville; two brothers, George A. Walters of Broadalbin and Richard A. Walters of Wells; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mountain Valley Hospice.

Regina Coney
July 19, 1999
Regina M. Coney, 89, formerly of Amsterdam, died Monday at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Texas.
Arrangements by the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam, are incomplete and will be announced.

James Fiorillo
July 18, 1999
James Fiorillo, 94, of Wavell Road, Rotterdam, died Sunday at home.
Born in Dugenta, Italy, Mr. Fiorillo moved to this country in 1913 and lived most of his life in Schenectady, where he was educated.
For 35 years, he was a welder in the large motor and generator department of the General Electric Co., retiring in 1955.
In his early years, Mr. Fiorillo was a second baseman for the Eagles in 1919 and went by the name "Jimmy Roush." He also played with the Scotia Twilights, the Paddys, Wilsons, Kains, and the Schenectady Police. In 1928 and 1929, he played for Hartford in the Eastern League and with the Jerseys. From 1932 to 1937, he played second base for Amsterdam, the Karnaco, Schenectady All-Stars and Altamont with the Suburban League. After 1937, he played with the Old-Timers for a number of years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. Fiorillo was also a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the Old-Timers Baseball Players Association.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Yolanda Monaco Fiorillo; two daughters, June Gardner and Virginia Strow, both of Clifton Park; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street., followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ellen Hatala
July 19, 1999
Ellen E. Hatala, 65, of Cruthers Road, Galway, died Monday at Mount Loretto Nursing Home, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
Born July 14, 1934, in Hudson, she was the daughter of Winfred and Ellen Hallenbeck Sweet.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hatala was a member of the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
She married John J. Hatala in 1964.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, John J. Hatala Jr. of Santa Fe, N.M., and Richard L. Hatala of Galway; and a grandson.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, Galway.

Jay McClary
September 30, 1999
Jay A. McClary, 68, of 8 Green St., Mayfield, died Thursday at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility in Gloversville. He was previously a patient at Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.
He was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Mayfield, the son of Daniel and Mildred Eschler McClary and was a lifelong Mayfield resident. He graduated from Mayfield Central School in 1949 and attended Oneonta State Teachers College for two years.
He completed his Navy training in Great Lakes, Ill., in 1950, and served aboard the USS Bennington and the USS Franklin Roosevelt aircraft carriers from Aug. 3, 1950, to May 26, 1954.
He worked at the Scotia Naval Depot for 16 years, then as a grounds maintenance worker in the Mayfield school district for five years.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He married Maxine E. Mortimer June 21, 1958.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Gregory McClary of Mayfield; a brother, Eugene McClary of Mayfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Rev. David C. Newkirk of the Mayfield United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield.
A calling hour will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayfield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 203, Mayfield 12117.

Robert Kenney
September 30, 1999
Robert F. Kenney, 50, of Round Barn Road, Town of Glen, formerly of Amsterdam, died Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born in Amsterdam May 23, 1949, the son of Francis J. and Ellen Keiley Kenney. He was a lifelong area resident. He was educated at St. Mary's Institute in Amsterdam and graduated from Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady. He received a degree in business administration from Curry College in Wilton, Mass.
Mr. Kenney was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a charter member and past president of the Irish-American Club of Amsterdam, a member of John F. Kennedy Division 1 Ancient Order of Hibernians in Schenectady, and the Fishhouse Fish and Game Club.
He married Donna Buyce Oct. 18, 1986.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his mother, of Amsterdam; an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the Riley Mortuary Inc., 110 Division St., Amsterdam, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 158 E. Main St., Amsterdam.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Pauline Mosher
September 29, 1999
Pauline M. Mosher, 83, of Amsterdam, died Wednesday at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.
She was born March 15, 1916, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Joseph and Fannie Mae Hurd Brown. She lived in Arkansas for many years before moving to Vermont, Lockport and then Amsterdam. She lived in West Palm Beach, Fla., for 23 years before returning to Amsterdam in 1985. She entered the Wilkinson facility one year ago.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She married Frank H. Mosher in 1949. He died March 30, 1991.
Survivors include four daughters, Gail Hunt of New Jersey, Sharon MacMillan and Virginia "Jeannie" Williams, both of Syracuse, and Nola Rinsey of San Marino, Calif.; three sons, Kirk MacMillan of Syracuse, Brian MacMillan of Antigua, and Michael J. Mosher of Galway; a brother, Richard Brown of Syracuse; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Green Hill Cemetery, Amsterdam, where interment will follow.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville.

Anita Snyder
September 25, 1999
Anita Furiani Snyder, 62, of Memphis, Tenn., died Saturday.
She was born in Amsterdam, the daughter of Fiore and Sophie Furiani. She was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and attended Oneonta State Teachers College.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Snyder of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Michael Snyder of California; a daughter, Lisa Snyder of Hawaii; two sisters, Carol Snyder of Milford, Mass., and Christine Melnik of Buffalo; a brother, David Furiani of Burnt Hills; aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private service is scheduled Monday at St. Nicholas Church in Amsterdam.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation.

Margaret Davis
September 30, 1999
Margaret E. Davis, 76, of West Montgomery Street, Johnstown, died Thursday at home after a long illness.
Born in Amsterdam, she was a 1941 graduate of Johnstown High School.
Mrs. Davis entered the Navy as a WAVE in 1943 and received basic training at Hunter College. She was a graduate of Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, Okla. She also served as an office manager at a naval repair station in New Orleans until 1945.
She worked for the Johnstown Telephone Co. and Ireland Brothers Gloves. She was a secretary and office manager at Hamblet & Hayes Inc. in Gloversville, formerly Commonwealth Laboratories in Gloversville. She retired in 1985.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and its Rosary Society.
Mrs. Davis was a member of the Shirley Luck Senior Center, the Ida McGinnis Senior Center and its Veteran Group in Gloversville.
She married Herbert R. Davis July 19, 1945. He died in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynne M. Henry of Johnstown; two sons, Timothy T. Davis of Gilbertsville and James E. Davis of Johnstown; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, Main and Melcher streets, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Mountain Valley Hospice, or to a charity of one's choice.

Arthur Kenyon
September 30, 1999
Arthur D. Kenyon, 84, of Military Road, Hadley, died Thursday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in the Town of Day and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Kenyon was a carpenter and most recently he worked for Brownell Lumber in Edinburgh, retiring in 1995.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Tange Kenyon; three sons, Arthur J. Kenyon of Alaska, Alan Kenyon of Prince George, Va., and Otto Kenyon of Mayfield; six daughters, Janet Hinton of Salt Lake City, Utah, Evelyn LaPort of Edinburgh, Sally Ostrander of Johnstown, Dale Brooks of Day, Lisa Godfrey of Mayfield and Nora King of Stanford; a brother, Harold Kenyon of Amsterdam; three sisters, Jennie Gysin of Florida, Carolina Rusit of Amsterdam, and Mary Denker of Galway; 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 4 p.m. Sunday at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St., Northville.
Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
Calling hours will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam.
