Shannon Marie Viele, infant daughter of Janet Conibear and Cory Viele of Mariaville Road, Pattersonville, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.
The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.

Bobby DaCorsi
July 1, 2000
Bobby Joe DaCorsi, 19, of Old Peck Hill Road, Gloversville, died after being stabbed Saturday night.
He was born in Gloversville and attended Gloversville schools.
He was employed by Integrity Builders of Gloversville.
Survivors include a son, Devon Jonathan DaCorsi of Gloversville; his mother, Fawn Rowback Sager of Gloversville; six brothers, Dennis DaCorsi Jr., Chris DaCorsi, Richard DaCorsi, Austin Sager, Andrew Sager, and Timothy Green, all of Gloversville; a sister, Denise DaCorsi Rupert of Gloversville; and paternal grandmother, Edith Hauser DaCorsi of Gloversville.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.
Burial is in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Leukodystrophy Foundation, 2304 Highland Drive, Sycamore, Ill. 60178.

Hilda Smith
July 1, 2000
Hilda S. Smith, 79, of Baronial Heights, Johnstown, died Saturday at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a short illness.
She was born in Rensselaer and graduated from St. John's Academy there.
At one time, she worked as a dental assistant and later as a bookkeeper for her husband's dentistry practice.
Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Patrick's Church and a member of its Rosary Society, the Coterie Study Club, and the Johnstown Hospital and Wells House Auxiliary.
She married Robert A. Smith in 1943. He died Feb. 23, 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Smith of Duanesburg and David M. Smith of Johnstown; a daughter, Judith Smith of Winchester, Mass.; a sister, Elizabeth Pratt of Rensselaer; a brother, John Spath of Rensselaer; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Church.
Burial is in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St., Johnstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Respect Life Committee in care of the Diocesan Family Life Office, 40 N. Main Ave., Albany 12203.

Edward Czach
July 2, 2000
Edward C. Czach, 84, of Ellsworth Street, Amsterdam, died Sunday at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility.
He was born April 17, 1916, in Enfield, Conn., the son of Casimir and Mary Saletnik Czach. He lived in Saxonville, Mass., as a young adult, before moving to Amsterdam where he since lived. He was educated in Saxonville, Mass., and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam.
He was a weaver for the Bigelow Sanford Carpet Mills and later was employed by Ward Products until retiring.
Mr. Czach was a musician for the past 18 years with The Revelaires. He also played with various bands from the Amsterdam, Albany and Schenectady areas.
He was an Army medic during World War II, serving in the D-Day invasion in Normandy and Northern France. He was wounded in action and received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with Bronze Arrowhead and the Purple Heart.
He married Katherine H. Sikora Czach Oct. 19, 1946.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Casimir F. Czach of Ballston Lake, Frank E. Czach of Tribes Hill, and Edward J. Czach of Pasadena, Calif.; one grandson; one granddaughter; and cousins.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Guzielek-Pomykaj Funeral Home, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam.
Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
A calling hour will precede the funeral at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made the Mobile Geriatric Outreach of St. Mary's Hospital, 427 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, in care of Diane Snell.

Ernest Fonda
July 2, 2000
Ernest George Fonda, 75, formerly of Fonda, died Sunday morning at Montgomery Meadows Nursing Home, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 7, 1924, in the town of Mohawk, the son of Edgar and Edith Nevill Fonda. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed by the New York Central Railroad as a heavy engine operator, and was a member of the Union of Operator Engineers Local 106, and later worked as a watchman for Fonda Manufacturing until his retiring in 1983.
Mr. Fonda was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 on the USS Washington, obtaining the rank of Seaman 1st Class.
He was a life member of VFW Post 39 and was a member of the Fonda-Fultonville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Edger Fonda of Fonda; two sisters, Ruth Stevens of Batavia and Edith Fonda of Glen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, with the Rev. Newton Perrins of the Fonda-Fultonville United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fonda-Fultonville United Methodist Church.

Guy Lathers
July 2, 2000
Guy R. Lathers, 85, of Maplewood Drive, Charlton, died Sunday at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Johnstown, the son of Arthur and Carrie Ackley Lathers. He was a 1932 graduate of Johnstown High School. He lived in Charlton for the past 47 years.
He worked at General Electric Co. for 28 years and was a chauffeur for the president of G.E. Broadcasting, retiring several years ago.
Mr. Lathers was a longtime member of the Schenectady Rose Society, a member of Adirondack American Legion Post 70, and a life member of DAV. He also belonged to the Microphone and Camera Club and WRGB Broadcasting.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He married Dorothy Jane Vedder May 9, 1943.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Suzanne L. Pohl of Glenville and Deborah A. Waldron of Charlton; a brother, Clayton E. Lathers of Johnstown; and four grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville.
Burial is in Sweetman Cemetery, Charlton.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donna Loder
July 1, 2000
Donna J. Loder, 69, of Oakland, Calif., formerly of Amsterdam, died Saturday at the Mount Diablo Medical Center, Concord, Calif.
She was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Harry and Wilma Rudder Loder. She attended local schools and was a local resident until moving to California in 1966.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Loder was of the Lutheran faith.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Nelson, in 1987, and a son, Robert T. Fitzgibbons, in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Fitzgibbons of Seal Beach, Calif., and Michael Fitzgibbons of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; two daughters, Patty Fitzgibbons of Petaluma, Calif., and Leslie Fitzgibbons of Oakland, Calif.; a sister; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Arrangements are by the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.

Gordon Hazzard
July 1, 2000
Gordon "Gordy" C. Hazzard, 70, of Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital after being stricken at home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1930, in East Springfield, the son of Orlando and Anna Layman Hazzard.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was employed by the City of Amsterdam Department of Public Works as a foreman and later worked for The Recorder.
Mr. Hazzard was a communicant of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church.
He was a former volunteer with the Catholic Families Charities food pantry, a past president of the former East Main Street School PTA and a founder of the former Amsterdam Lollipops 4-H Club.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Eva M. Hazzard, in 1996.
He married Constance Corsette Nov. 16, 1997.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Gordon Hazzard of New York City and Christopher Hazzard of Broadalbin; four daughters, Cecilia Hazzard of Stratford, Anita Ericson and Joanna Cardona, both of Amsterdam, and Lorraine Clark of Danboro, Pa.; three step-sons, Chip LaGreca and Leo LaGreca, both of Amsterdam, and Anthony LaGreca of Johnstown; three step-daughters, Bert LaGreca of Ephratah, Mary DiCaterino of Amsterdam, and Jean Smith of Gloversville; seven brothers, George Hazzard of St. Johnsville, Leslie Hazzard Darwin Hazzard, and Leland Hazzard, all of Fort Plain, Charles Hazzard and Ron Hazzard, both of Fordsbush, and David Hazzard of Stratford; two sisters, Doris Bawolak of the town of Mohawk and Helen Tybor of Johnstown; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
The memorial service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Chapel at St. Casimir's Cemetery with the Rev. Stanley Swierzowski officiating.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center, in care of the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, which is in charge of arrangements.

Alfred Munise
July 4, 2000
Alfred J. Munise Sr., 77, of East Boulevard, Gloversville, died Tuesday at the Nathan Littauer Hospital Extended Care Facility.
He was born in Cambridge, Mass., and was raised and educated in Astoria.
For 23 years, he was a security guard for Western Electric in New York City.
Mr. Munise moved to Gloversville in 1962, and for several years, owned the Towne Tavern.
He moved to Port Charlotte, Fla., in 1977, and returned to the Gloversville area in 1994.
He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Port Charlotte, Fla., and Johnstown.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Gloversville.
He married Marian Dikeman Sept. 1, 1945.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Janet Stone of Burlington, N.C., Lorraine McMullen and Barbara Dalmata, both of Gloversville, and Margaret Shepard of Johnstown; two sons, John Munise and Alfred J. Munise Jr., both of Gloversville; two sisters, Alice Schwarz of Midlotian, Va., and Patricia Sawver of Finley, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Kingsboro Avenue, Gloversville.
Cremation is at Park View Crematory, Schenectady.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 147 Bleecker St., Gloversville.
