Viola Lasher
July 21, 1996
Viola M. Lasher, 90, of Rocco Avenue, Pawtucket, R.I., died Sunday at the Slater Health Center.
Mrs. Lasher was born in Providence, N.Y. and lived in Gloversville for most of her life. She moved to Pawtucket 10 years ago.
She was a member of Bleecker Street Church in Gloversville.
Mrs. Lasher was the widow of Charles N. Lasher.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen J. Yousekevich, with whom she resided.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second St., Gloversville.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

Margaret Nelligan
July 22, 1996
Margaret N. Nelligan, 76, formerly of South McNab Avenue in Gloverville, died Monday at her daughter's home after a short illness.
Born in Rochester, Mrs. Nelligan was a 1938 graduate of Monroe High School.
She resided in Rochester until 1957 and later lived in Florida for eight years. In 1972, she moved to the Gloversville area.
Mrs. Nelligan was a teachers aide at the Kingsboro School until the onset of Illness in April. She also was involved with the after-school program at the Johnstown YMCA.
She was a life member of the Gloversville PTA.
Mrs. Nelligan was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Her husband, James W. Nelligan, whom she married Jan. 27, 1942, died in 1986.
Survivors include six sons, John L. Nelligan of Guilderland, William B. Nelligan, of Schenectady, Paul E. Nelligan of Broadalbin, Michael T. Nelligan of Menands, Timothy A. Nelligan of Rochester, and Joseph P. Nelligan of Mariaville; a daughter, Catherine Groves of Gloversville; two brothers, Bernard Neary of Florida and Robert Neary of Dallas; six sisters, Louis Brogan, Rose Marie Bradt, Virginia Koehler, Betty Farley and Madeline Heid, all of Rochester, and Alice Rodell of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, 38 W. Main St., Broadalbin.
Cremation will be in Parkview Crematory, Schenectady, and burial will be in Sloansville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.

John Litynski
July 21, 1996
John J. Litynski, 64, of Scotia, died Sunday at home after a long illness.
Mr. Litynski was born in Amsterdam. He was a graduate of New York State University College of Forestry at Syracuse University with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, and was a registered landscape architect.
He was a founding principal of The Saratoga Associates, with 38 years of experience in campus planning. During his tenure, he directed education facilities; planning and programming; space utilization; master planning; and building and site projects at more than 75 college campuses in the Northeast.
Locally, some of those projects were at Union College, the University at Albany, Russell Sage, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and The College of St. Rose. Other significant projects included the Culinary Institute of America, Skidmore College, Medgar Evers College and Cornell University.
Mr. Litynski's career also included a decade of service with the State University Construction Fund managing campus plans and facility programs for 34 SUNY college campuses. He also served Union College as its director of campus planning and development, assisting in the management of its physical programming, budgeting and planning.
He served as corporate secretary and a member of the board of directors of The Saratoga Associates and as a board member of the Albany Diocese Catholic school system. He served on the historical/architectural review committee in Chestertown, where he maintained a second residence for more than 30 years.
Mr. Litynski also served as a guest lecturer on college and university planning at the University at Albany, Union College, RPI and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mr. Litynski was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Scotia.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Anne M. Litynski; a son, Dr. James Litynski of Albany; three daughters, Judith A. Rightmyer of Burnt Hills, Diane M. Litynski of Scotia, and Carolyn Litynski-Holzman of Albany; two sisters; Emily A. Litynski of Amsterdam and Charlotte Koby of Scotia; a brother, Ray Litynski of Johnson City; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Church, Cornell Street, Amsterdam
Calling hours are from 4 this afternoon to 8 tonight at the White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave. on Route 50.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Building Fund; St. Stanislaus School, Amsterdam; or the Oncology Foundation at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

Arcangelo Barletta
July 22, 1996
Arcangelo "AB" Barletta, 86, of Marion Oaks , Fla. died Monday at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh.
Born in Sezze, Italy, Mr. Barletta served with the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He and his wife were the proprietors of the AB Supply Co. in Mechanicville, N.Y., a sporting goods store where they also manufactured fishing tackle. He also was a manufacturers' representative.
In 1967, he purchased the Wells House and in 1964, built the AB Motel, both in Pottersville, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ann Simiele Barletta. They were married for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Edith Agoney Welch Barletta; four daughters, Irene Moyer of Flint, Mich., Clara Barletta of Madison, Jean Crane of Waverly Hill. Ga., and Stella VanDerwarker of Pottersville; a son, Michael Barletta of Honolulu; six stepdaughters, Helen Rock and Carolyn Rushford, both of Ocala, Fla., Peggy Spencer of Alabama, Jane Floyd of Texas, Josephine Bushey of West Chazy, and Geraldine Langston of Oklahoma; two stepsons, Leonard Welch of Merrill, and Thomas Welch of Cadyville; three sisters, Ernesta Marchionne and Flora Mancini, both of Fonda, and Antonia Leonoro of Italy; three brothers, Salvatore Barletta of Fonda, and Francino and Dante Barletta, both of Italy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Chestertown.Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 this afternoon and 7 to 9 tonight at the Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, Pine Street, Chestertown.

Guy Wilmot
July 18, 1996
Guy W. "Bill" Wilmot, 68, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Johnstown, died Thursday at home.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Wilmot resided in the Glove Cities area until retiring and moving to Florida in 1990.
He worked for Cromer Trucking, Prudential and John Hancock Life Insurance Companies and the Shepard Oil Co. before retiring.
Mr. Wilmot coached area Babe Ruth Baseball teams and took an all-star team to the national tournament in 1959. He also broadcasted high school sports on WENT and WIZR radio stations.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Marie Cromer Wilmot, whom he married June 4, 1949; three sons, James Wilmot of Baltimore, Daniel Wilmot of Sarasota, Fla., two daughters, Marianne Braemer of Fonda and Margaret Angus of Gloversville; a sister, Ruth Scribner of Schenectady; 11 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in Johnstown.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda.
Arrangements are by the National Cremation Society.

John Fritz
July 23, 1996
John Fritz, 80, of the Mount Loretto Nursing Home, died Tuesday at the home after a long illness.
Born in Amsterdam, Mr. Fritz was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Gazda of Amsterdam; a nephew, Peter Fritz of North Carolina; three nieces, Maryann Pierpont of Long Island, Ruth Deller of Penn Yan, and Diane Pelosi of Johnstown; also five grand-nephews and four grand-nieces.
The services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Guzielek-Pomykaj Funeral Home, 13 Belmont Place, and at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. John the Baptist.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Loretto Nursing Home or the Church of St. John the Baptist.

Sadie LaTorre
July 22, 1996
Sadie V. Allen LaTorre 83, of Chapel Place, died Monday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Amsterdam, Nov. 29, 1912, the daughter of Anthony & Vernonica Lebutskas Petrusunas (Peterson). She was a 1932 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Mrs. LaTorre was employed as a sales clerk at the former Lurie's Department Store in Amsterdam.
She was a communicant of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, and a member of its Living Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Knights of Lithuania Council 100, North Broadalbin Beach Club, The Widows & Widowers, Club 60 and Sterling Care.
Her first husband, Louis K. Allen died in 1979; On. Aug. 8,. 1981 she married Matthew LaTorre who died October 8, 1986.
Survivors include: 2 Stepsons: Albert LaTorre of Port Orange, Fla. and Donald LaTorre of Sparta, N.J.; 2 Step-daughters: Jean Cassetta of Smithfield, R.I. and Diane Peyton of Macon, Ga.; l brother, Leon Peterson of Amsterdam and 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews & cousins.
Services are Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Pl., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery. Calling hours are this evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Casimir's Memorial Fund. The Knights of Lithuania will conduct a ritual this evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Virgil Hazzard
July 23, 1996
Virgil E. Hazzard Sr., 81, of Brookmans Corners Road, died Tuesday at home after a long illness.
Born in Charleston, N.Y. on Nov. 17, 19l4, he was the son of Garfield and Margaret Vosburgh Hazzard.Mr. Hazzard attended area schools.
He was a dairy farmer on the family farm and was also a shipper with the Beech-Nut Corp. in Canajoharie for 37 years, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Hazzard was of the Protestant faith.
He was a founding member of the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Hibbard Hazzard, whom he married Dec. 4, 1948; two sons, Virgil E. Hazzard Jr. of Fly Creek and James G. Hazzard of Fultonville; two daughters, Patricia A. Oare and Carolyn J. Oare, both of Johnstown; three brothers, Ward Hazzard of Gloversville, Garfield Hazzard Jr. of Fonda and Everett Hazzard of Flat Creek; five sisters, Ella Mae Colby of Fultonville, Nancy Eaker of Johnstown, Regina Peeler of Fonda and Marguarite Lohmeyer and Nettie Guyette, both of Amsterdam; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Dingman.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Minden Volunteer Fire Department.

Clarence Bush
July 12, 1996
Charles A. Bush, 83, of Fawn Lake Road, Lake Pleasant and Frenchtown, New Jersey died Friday afternoon July 12 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville after being stricken at his summer home in Lake Pleasant.
He was born August 22, 1912 in Monroe, N.Y. and was the son of Horace and Mary Smith Bush. Mr. Bush resided most of his life in Frenchtown, New Jersey.
He was a 1934 graduate of Lafayette College of Easton, Pa; with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
He was a self-employed Electrical Engineer and operted Bitonics, Inc. of Bethlehem, Pa. He also operated a dairy farm for several years and retired in 1977 when he sold Birtonics, Inc.
He was a member of Everittstown, N.J. United Methodist Church and was a member of the Northern New Jersey United Methodist Conference Board. He was a volunteer for the Office on Ageing, Meals on Wheels, former President of Board of the Delaware Valley High School, Oak Grove Grange, American Institute of Electrical Engineering.
On July 11, 1936 he married Margaret VanKeuren, who survives.
Survivors include his wife Margaret of 60 years, a son, Charles G. Bush of Flemington, N.J.; 2 daughters, Nancy Murphy of Gallatin, N.Y. and Janet Huber of Medford, N.J.; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
A private graveside service took place on Tuesday, July 16 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bethlehem, N.H. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Lake Pleasant,or of Everittstown, N.J. or to the Speculator. Ambulance Corp.

Anna Wollman
July 24, 1996
Anna Jacobs Wollman, age 86, of Kingsway Arms Nursing Home, formerly of 947 Norwood Ave., Schenectady, died Wednesday at the nursing home.
Mrs. Wollman was born in Schenectady and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady as well as a member of their Sisterhood.
She was the widow of Max Wollman, who died in 1987.
She is survived by one son, Paul L. Wollman of Amsterdam, and one daughter, Elaine Zimmerman of Brattleboro, Vt., two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services at the Beth Israel Cemetery Chapel, Abbottsford Road, Rotterdam, at noon today.
Interment will follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Rotterdam.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Israel Synagogue, 2195 Eastern Parkway, Schenectady, 12309 or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Northeastern New York Chapter 50, Colvin Avenue, Albany, 12206.
The period of mourning will be observed at the Friedson residence, 2508 Whamer Lane, Niskayuna, on Thursday following the funeral service until 3:30 p.m.
There will be a service at the Beth Israel Synagogue, 2195 Eastern Parkway, Schenectady, at 7 p.m. today , after which the period of mourning will resume at the Friedson residence.
Funeral arrangements are by the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave., Albany.
