Funeral of E. J. Treambly
The funeral of Edward J. Treambly, veteran of the Spanish American War who died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday, was held at 9 a.m. today from the C. J. Cote Funeral Home, 252 Second Street, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Jean Baptiste Church where Rev. Celeste Robitaille celebrated a requiem high mass. Mrs. Marie M. Beaudoin presided At the organ. The Misses Gertrude B. Cote and Eva H. Balthazard sang during the mass. Bearers were Bernard, Peter, James and William Treambly, 0'Donnell and Joseph Perkette, Rev, Harvey J. Bessette officiated at the interment in St. Jean's Cemetery, Marcus D. Russell Camp No. 2. Spanish American War Veterans, fired a volley over the grave. The firing squad, in charge of Zera D. Link. was composed of William Lanigan, Bert J. Tillotson, Frank D. Veshia, William F. Baker, Thomas Lott. and William J. Cunningham. Bert Grace, bugler, sounded taps.
Mrs. Alfred LeCompte
The funeral of Mrs. Alfred LeCompte was held this morning from the Fonda Funeral Home, 837 River Street, and later from St. Jean Baptiste Church where a solemn mass of requiem was celebrated by the pastor, Rev. Harvey J. Bessettel with Rev. Celas A. Robitaille as deacon and Rev. Leo H. Paradis as subdeacon. Mrs. John Schnurr presided at the organ. Miss Eva Balthazard sang "Pie Jesu" at the offertory and Miss Gertrude Coty sang "0 Vos Omnes" at the conclusion of the mass. Bearers were Thomas L. Horan, Richard M. LaMarr, Edward Rankel, George E. Wheeler, William H. Fisher and James A. Phillips. Interment was in St. Jean's Cemetery where Father Bessette officiated at the grave. Mrs. LeCompte died Wednesday at her home, 199 Fifth Avenue, after a brief illness. She was born in Canada and resided here about 55 years. She was a member of St. Jean Baptiste Church. Survivors include her husband, a brother, Napoleon Mayhue of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. Peter Hute of Florida, Mrs. Searis Agaard of Schenectady and Mrs. Nelson Agaard of this city.
Richard J. Beebe
Funeral services for Richard James Beebe, 45, of 1414 1/2 Massachusetts Avenue, Blackinton, Mass., son of John Beebe of this city and the late Mrs. Bessie Branch Beebe, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. John's Church, North Adams, Mass. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, Mass. Mr. Beebe, a veteran of World War I and an employee of the Berkshire Street Railway Co. for 14 years, died Tuesday at a veterans' hospital in New York City following an illness of a month. He had been resident of the North Adams area for a number of years. Besides his father, survivors include a brother, Thomas Beebe, of Corinth, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur L. Blake of Williamstown and Mrs. Daniel Cornellier of Pittsfield, Mass., and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mary G. Robinson
Mrs. Mary Griffith Robinson of 72 Fourth street, Waterford, died at the Leonard Hospital this morning following a long illness. She had been a resident of Waterford for a number of years and was a member of St. Mary's Church, that village. Besides her husband, Edward Robinson, survivors include a brother, Michael E. Griffith of Troy, and three sisters, Mrs. Edward J. McGrath of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Margaret Shudt and Mrs. Anna Ryan of Troy. The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Quandt Funeral Home, 23 Broad Street, Waterford, and at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
Miss Barbara Bateman
Miss Barbara Anne Bateman, daughter of Rose Gilson Bateman and Ernest H. Bateman of 1125 People's Avenue, died last night at her residence. She was born in this city and was a student in the fifth grade at St. Paul the Apostle's School. She attended St. Paul's Church. She in survived by her parents and two brothers, Robert E. and Ernest Paul Bateman. The funeral will be held from the J. W. Burns' Sons, Inc., Fifth Avenue Funeral Chapel, at 9 a.m. Monday and from St. Paul the Apostle's Church at 9:30 a.m. when a mass of angels will be sung. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery.
John J. Callahan
John J. Callahan died today at his residence, 3 South Lake Avenue after a long illness. He was born in Watervliet, but had resided the greater part of his life in Troy. He was employed as a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, the former Evangeline Painton; one son, Warren J. Callahan; two daughters, Anne J. and Jean M. Callahan, all of Troy; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Callahan, of Watervliet; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell Manny and Mrs. George Miller, both of Troy, and a brother, Francis Callahan of Watervliet. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
Melvin A. Mann
Melvin A. Mann, husband of Myrtle Mann, died yesterday at his home on Burgoyne Avenue, Hudson Falls. In addition to his wife he is survived in by two step-daughters, Mrs. Rena Graves, Hudson Falls, and Mrs. Harold Pollock, Greenwich; a brother, Charles Mann, St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services will be conducted at the Carleton Funeral Home, Hudson Falls, at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Reverend Richard C. Polk, pastor of Advent Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Moss Street Cemetery, Hudson Falls.
Albert H. McAllaster
Albert H. McAllaster of 49 Morris St, Albany, husband of Mrs. Mary Glynn McAllaster, formerly of Troy, died suddenly yesterday of a heart attack at a physician's office at 218 State St., Albany. Mr. McAllaster had been under a doctor's care for some time. He was proprietor of the Acme Printing shop, Albany, at the time of his death. Mrs. McAllaster survives. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the residence. Burial will take place in Albany Rural Cemetery.
Mrs.Delia Connell
Mrs. Delia Connell died yesterday at the Troy Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Glens Falls, Mrs. Connell had resided in this city for five years. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held from the residence of her nephew, John J. Gillick, 16 Francis Street, at 10 a.m. Monday and thence at 10:30 from St. Joseph's Church where a requiem high mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Mrs. Belle A. Smith
Mrs. Belle A. Smith, former teacher at Ballston Spa, wife of the late Dr. H. Frederick Smith, died Wednesday night at her home on Smith Street, Ballston Spa. A graduate of the local high school and Mt. Holyoke College, Mrs. Smith made her home several years at Orange, Massachusetts. She was active in the D.A.R., Rebekah Lodge and Methodist Church.
Mrs. Mary Mesley
Mrs. Mary Mesley, widow of Joseph Mesley, died today at the home of her son, George H. Mesley of North Greenbush after a long illness. She was formerly Miss Mary Chezlar and was born in Austria. She resided in Troy for 53 years and attended holy Trinity Church. Ms. is Mesley also prolonged to the rosary society. The survivors are two sons, George and Joseph A. Mesley of Troy; four grandsons, John Mesley of Troy, Leo Mesley of Detroit, Thomas Mesley of the Army stationed in Kentucky and Francis Mesley of the Navy stationed at Norfolk, Virginia, and three granddaughters Hal and and Lillian Mesley of Troy and Sister Mary Eileen of the Sisters of Mercy in Albany. The funeral will be held from the residence of her son, Joseph, 563 First St., Monday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church where a requiem high mass will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Charles A. Eighmey
Charles A. Eighmey, for 20 years owner of an upholstery business in Saratoga Springs, died Tuesday at his home, 34 Warren St, after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, and a member of St. Clement's Church. For 39 years he was associated with Collins Brothers, upholsterers, before starting his own business. Survivors include one daughter Miss Mary C. Eighmey, one son, Pfc. Charles F. Eighmey, three sisters, Miss Caroline M. Eighmey, Miss Sarah A. Eighmey, and Mrs. Ellen J. Delaney and a brother George E. Eighmey, all of Saratoga Springs. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the home and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Clement's Church. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Funeral of Mrs. Leathem
The funeral of Mrs. Bridget Flaherty Leathem, widow of Joseph Leathem, was held at 10 a.m. today from the residence, 151 Madison St., and thence from St. Joseph's Church where a solemn high mass was celebrated by Reverend Patrick J. Hanley. Assisting were Reverend Gerald F. Millet, Deacon and Reverend Edmund J. Burns, subdeacon, Miss Julia L. Walsh presided at the Oregon and rendered "Miserere" at the processional, "Domine Jesu Christie" at the offertory. "Mother Dear, O Pray For Me" at the absolution and "Softly Now the Light of Day" at the recessional. Bearers were all nephews, Joseph H. and Frank J. Leathem, David A. and John Barron, and Peter A. and Michael H. Keating. Interment took place in St. Joseph's Cemetery with Father Burns officiating. Last evening Father Burns and visited the home and recited prayers.
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Duffy
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Duffy, widow of Dr. Francis T. Duffy, of 119 2nd St, died early today at the Troy Hospital. She was born in Troy, the former Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, daughter of the late John P. Fitzpatrick and Catherine Smith Fitzpatrick. Her father was one of the organizers of the Fitzpatrick Brothers Wholesale Tobacconists. Survivors include one son, John T. Duffy of Troy; one daughter, Frances E. Duffy, also of Troy and one sister, Mrs. William B. Stevens of Loudonville. The funeral will be held from the J. Debbie of Burns Sons Inc., Fifth Avenue Funeral Chapel, Monday at 9 a.m. and from St. Mary's Church at 9:30 a.m. where a solemn requiem high mass will be sung. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Louzon's funeral
The funeral of George Peter Louzon of Pownal, Vermont, who died Monday, was conducted from the Sacred Heart Church in Bennington. Interment was in Park Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Louzon died at his farm home in the Chalk Pond section after several months illness. He was a native of Glastonbury, Vermont, and had lived in Bennington before moving to Pownal 17 years ago. Survivors are his wife, the former Albia Talbot, three sons, Raymond, Richard and Wilfred, all of Pownal; seven daughters, Mrs. Orin Kent of Potsdam, Mrs. James Sausville, Keene; Mrs. Thomas Riley, Baltimore; Mrs. Donald Delude, Bennington; Mrs. Bernard Snow, Williamstown, and Mrs. Harold Baldwin and Miss Theresa Louzon of Pownal, nine grandchildren and four brothers, all of Bennington.
Charles Pratt
The funeral of Charles Pratt was held at 2:30 p.m. yesterday from the Closson funeral home, Schuylerville. Reverend A. W. Abraham of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church officiated. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Bearers were Eugene Rivett, Saratoga Springs; Harold Pratt, Hudson Falls; William Grant, Albany; and that William Grant of Glens Falls. Mr. Pratt is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pasquale DiTursi of North Adams, Massachusetts, and Mrs. Claude Major of Amherst, Massachusetts; three brothers, John Grant of Saratoga Springs, William Grant, Albany, and Fred Grant of Schuylerville; three sisters, Mrs. Eugene Rivett and Mrs. Helen Dockendorf, Saratoga Springs, and Mrs. James Pratt of Schuylerville.
William Cahill Dowd
William Cahill Dowd of 24 Summit St, Cahoes, died early today at the Cahoes hospital following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Cahoes and for a number of years conducted a confectionery store on Vliet Street, Cahoes. He was a member of St. Agnes's Church, Cahoes. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Riley Dowd. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Nora Cogley and a Miss Lillian Cahill Dowd of Cahoes and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from the funeral home of Edward J. Stanton, 326 Columbia St, Cahoes, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Agnes's Church, Cahoes, where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Agnes's Cemetery, Cahoes.
Mrs. Mary E. Lewis
Mrs. Mary E. Lewis, widow of Frank E. Lewis, for many years residents of Pownal, Vermont, died yesterday at Albany where she was visiting friends. A native of Hoosick, Mrs. Lewis was the last member of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Seneca Bradt of that town. For 45 years she resided in Pownal, where her husband was postmaster 13 years and conducted a general store on lower Main Street. She was a member of the Baptist Church, Pownal. Surviving are two sons, George R. Lewis of Petersburg and Floyd B. Lewis of Pownal, and three daughters, Miss Florence D. Lewis of Weehauken, New Jersey, Miss Helen Lewis of Albany and Mrs. Melvin Buster of Washington, DC. The funeral will be held at Pownal, Saturday afternoon.
Enoch Barton Moon
Funeral services for Enoch Barton Moon, 84, native of Poestenkill, who died early Tuesday at his home, for 25 W. 22nd St, New York City, after a lingering illness, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Chapel in Oakwood Cemetery, this city. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Moon was born in Poestenkill and lived there until his middle 20s when he moved to New York City to enter the ice business. He had made his home in New York since. Surviving are two brothers, Frank and James Moon of New City, and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Meissner of Troy and Miss Marion Moon of Barbersville.
Charles A. Barber
Charles A. Barber, 59, died at the Hahnemann Hospital, Scranton Pennsylvania, Tuesday. Born in Peru, New York, he had resided in Scranton for the last 32 years and had been employed in Scranton. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Loretta Barber; one son, Private Harry A. Barber of the Army; two daughters, Ms. Emma Lou Smead of Luzerne, and Mrs. Allen Edson of Sherburn, Massachusetts; two brothers, Leon Barber and James B. Barber, and two sisters, Mrs. E. M. Williams and Mrs. Charles Wheland, all of Troy. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bryce Funeral Home, 1820 fifth Ave.. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.
Funeral of Mrs. Egan
The funeral of Mrs. Lucy Hogan Egan, wife of Joseph Egan, was held at 9 a.m. today from the residence, 569 4th St, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church where a solemn high mass was celebrated by Reverend Edmund J. Burns, pastor. Rev. James E. O'Neil was deacon and the Rev. Gerald F. Millett was subdeacon. Miss Julia L. Walsh sang during the mass. Bearers were John Ryan, senior, Patrick Conway, Sr., Michael J. Rosney, James F. Donion, Edward Connolly and Philip A. Murphy, senior. Burial was in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery where Father O'Neil of officiated.
The funeral of Mrs. Pidgeon
The funeral of Mrs. Anna Pidgeon was held in this morning from the Morris funeral home, 2174 Fifth Ave. at 9 a.m. and from St. Peter's Church at 930 where a solemn Requiem Mass was sung. Rev. Michael F. English was celebrant, Reverend Edward A. McManus was deacon and Reverend Peter A. Sheeten was subdeacon. Professor W. Leo McCarthy presided at the Oregon. At the offertory Miss Cora ______ sang, "Panis Angeleus" and at the recessional, "Saviour, Bless Us Ever We Go". Bearers were John J. Mackrell, John W. Higgins, C. Francis Anderson and Richard Walsh. Interment was in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Funeral of W. A. Hancox
The funeral of William Albert Hancox was held this afternoon from the residence, 16 Down St, where Reverend Milton M. Lavery, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, officiated. Bearers were Harry W. Perry, John Peterson, William H. Lake, Clifford Conradt, George L. Carrier and Thomas Clancy. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Last night Mount Zion Lodge, F. and A.M. conducted Masonic services at the home and delegations of New York Power and Light Corp. employees from Troy and Albany visited the home.
