James C. Ansbro
O&R Foreman, 64

James C. Ansbro of Liberty, a 14-year area resident and a foreman with Orange & Rockland Utilities in Spring Valley, died Tuesday, February 20, 2001, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. He was 64 years of age.
The son of the late James J. and Dora Conklin Ansbro, he was born June 1, 1936, in Suffern.
Mr. Ansbro was an active member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth Pfaff Ansbro, at home; two sons and daughters-in-law, James C. and Dawn Ansbro of Goshen, and Paul D. and Lori Ansbro of Neversink; two sisters, Dolores Miles of Canton, Ga., and Gladys Rosado of Congers; several nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Scott, Kristen and Corinne Ansbro.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 South Main St., Liberty, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert C. Nadelen officiating.
Burial will be made in the Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church, 7 North Main St., Liberty, N.Y. 12754.

Georgette Christoff
Ret. Bookkeeper, 77

Georgette Christoff of Youngsville, a retired bookkeeper for Coca-Cola in Monticello, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at the Hamilton General Hospital in Ontario, Canada. She was 77 years of age.
The daughter of the late John and Julia Radvonousky Christoff, she was born November 18, 1923, in Brooklyn.
Miss Christoff was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Jeffersonville and their Bingo group, the Delaware Valley Senior Citizens in Callicoon, and was named the Town of Callicoon Senior Citizen of the Year in 1999. She arranged the trips for the Jeffersonville Senior Citizens and was on one of those trips when she became ill.
She is survived by a sister, Pauline Orr of Youngsville; two brothers, John Christoff of Jeffersonville and William Christoff of Youngsville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Christoff and a sister, Madeline Rhodes.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
Burial will be made in Greenhill Cemetery in Youngsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Martha L. Dunning
Novelty Slipper Wrkr., 79

Martha L. Dunning of Sparrowbush, a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen. She was 79 years of age.
The daughter of Harry W. Sr. and Leona Mandeville Oppelt, she was born January 22, 1927 in Port Jervis. She was the widow of Charles F. Dunning Sr. who died June 28, 1990.
A family statement read, “The family would like to thank our special friend Donna Green for the exceptional care that she gave to Mom.”
Surviving are four sons, Charles Dunning Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Sparrowbush, William Dunning and his wife, Donna, of Glen Spey, Edward Dunning of Sparrowbush and Tracy Dunning and his wife, Erin, of Glen Spey; a daughter, Linda Henderson of Muskogee, Okla.; her brother, Harry W. Oppelt Jr. of Port Jervis; her sister, Linda Oney of Belleville, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and three sisters, Beatrice McBride, Mary Decker and Kippy DeLange.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main Street, Port Jervis with Pastor Joseph Iannone officiating.
Burial will be made in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Ste. 203, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4027.

Charles M. Miller
Excavator, 85

Charles M. Miller of Ellenville, a lifelong resident and a self-employed excavator, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Castle Point. He was 85.
The son of Henry C. and Tessa Avery Miller, he was born September 7, 1920 in Wawarsing. He was the widower of June Lake Miller.
He was a member of the Ellenville Reformed Church, a life member of Kimble Hose Co., Ellenville, and a life member of the Fire Police. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and worked for the Ellenville Street Dept.
Survivors include his two daughters, Sharyn Likar and her husband Joseph of Cornwall-on-Hudson and Sandra Toohey and her husband James of Wurtsboro; four brothers, George Miller of Napanoch, Paul Miller of LaGrange, N.C., Henry Miller of Lewisburg, Pa., and William Miller of Beechmont, Ky.; three sisters, Marion Damms of Ellenville, Irene Whaley of Washington, NJ, and Shirley Zeko of Concord, NC; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne, Joseph Charles Likar and Tracey Lynn Clayworth; a great grandchild, Devin Joseph Likar; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Loucks Funeral Home. The Rev. Jay Vogelaar officiated.
Burial was made in Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Richard Freudenberg
Ret. Company Wrkr., 74

Richard “Dick” Freudenberg of Westbrookville, a 30-year area resident, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 74.
He was born July 3, 1932 in Jersey City, N.J., the son of the late Ralph and the late Nora Conklin Freudenberg.
Richard worked for 20 years at American Can Company in Jersey City, NJ. He went on to work for 20 years at C & D Battery in Huguenot.
A family statement read, “Dick loved to take care of his home and he especially loved mowing his lawn.”
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Heyny Freudenberg of 54 years, at home; son, Richard Freudenberg and his wife Catherine of Seattle, Wash.; daughters, Susan Williams and her husband Robert of Henderson, Nev., Nora Terwilliger and her husband Thomas of Westbrookville, Jennifer Chrisinger and her husband, Ken of Cuddebackville; nine grandchildren, Judy, Kurt, Elissa, Chelsea, Matthew, Zoe, Zak, Xander and Xaria; a great-grandson, Juward; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Kurisko of Foursquare Gospel Church, Middletown officiating.
Cremation was made at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, Pa.

Amerigus Laude Sr.
Business Owner, 58

Amerigus N. Laude of Lookout, Pa. died unexpectedly Friday, August 18, 2006. He was 58 years of age.
Known as “Reggie” to his family and friends, he was a dearly loved husband, father and grandfather. His lively and generous spirit and faithful soul will be deeply missed. He never let a day slip by without having a smile on his face.
Reggie was the hard-working business owner and operator of Laude’s Power Equipment and small-engine garage in northeast Pennsylvania. Reggie was a patriotic, loyal, down-to-earth man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
This proud humble man is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melinda Laude; his three beloved children, Reggie “Nick,” Eliza and Amerigus Jr. “A.J.”; three delightful grandchildren, Aryana, Marie, Kylie and the newest addition to the family, Jaiden; and the many lives he touched with his humorous and witty outlook on life.
Reggie was born in California on January 10, 1948 and grew up in the Philippines before finally moving back to the states in 1977. Reggie was a simple man who loved his life and always considered himself to be “rich in love and blessed.”
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St., Honesdale, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Martin Boylan, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish, officiating.

Richard Pergolizzi
Lawyer, 70

Richard S. Pergolizzi, formerly of Grahamsville, died Friday, August 4, 2006 at his residence in Leesburg, Va. He was 70.
For the past 18 years, Richard had his law office in Grahamsville.
The son of James J. Pergolizzi and Madeline Pergolizzi (Smith), he was born August 23, 1936 in Brooklyn. He was the widower of Marie V. Pergolizzi.
A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, he had a successful legal partnership with his brother James J. Pergolizzi Jr. on Commack, Long Island, specializing in construction law and building developments. Subsequently, he joined the New York State Real Estate Division of Housing. He started working under Governor Nelson Rockefeller and continued under Governor Mario Cuomo.
Among his major projects for New York State, Richard was legal counsel for the development of Co-op City in the Bronx. He was governor’s liaison for the Love Canal tragedy near Buffalo. Under Governor Cuomo, Richard was the lead writer of several laws. He eventually worked for the New York State Liquor Authority.
Upon retirement, he moved to Sundown and then to Napanoch. Too active to retire, he shared a Grahamsville law office with William A. Brenner.
He was a member of Elks Lodge #1971 in Napanoch and the Call Shanty Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, frequently hunting and bringing his family to the Sullivan and Ulster County area. A country boy, he attended high school in Cornwall.
He was a gourmet, and operated a successful restaurant in DelRay, Fla. He assisted the Carpinone family operate Christopher’s in Hurleyville. His mailbox was usually half-full with food and wine magazines.
Richard was the treasurer and communications director for the Brenner for U.S. Senate campaign.
He is survived by Dr. Richard S. Pergolizzi Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Fairfax, Va. and daughter, Laura Pergolizzi, of New York City and Hollywood; and two grandchildren, Luca (born July 16, 2006) and Miah Pergolizzi.
Funeral services were held at the Everly Funeral Home in Fairfax, Va. August 8, 2006 with graveside services held at Fairfax Memorial Park on August 9, 2006.

William Conway, Sr.
Ret. Truck Driver, 78

William J. Conway Sr., a retired driver for Rupp Southern Tier Trucking Corp. and a longtime area resident, died Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Dove Health Care Center in Lake Wales, Fla. He was 78.
The son of the late John J. and Mary Murran Conway, he was born January 30, 1928 in Monticello.
Bill spent much of his life in the Rock Hill area until he moved to Lake Wales, Fla. 13 years ago. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church of Monticello, a former member of the Monticello Fire Dept., a past chief and 50-plus year charter member of the Rock Hill Fire Dept., a Teamster Local #445 member, and a member of BPOE Elk’s Lodge #1544 in Monticello. He was a member of the Saddlebag, Fla. Men’s Club, and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Bernius Conway, at home; two sons, William Conway Jr. of Monticello and Michael “Chuck” Conway of Rock Hill; his beloved daughter, Patricia Vickers of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Michael Jr. of Cuddebackville, Daniel and Samantha Jacobs of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Christopher, James and Amy Conway of Monticello; and a great-granddaughter, Arianna.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday, August 25 at St. Peter’s Church, Broadway and Liberty St., Monticello. Father Robert Ginel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Monticello.
Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home of Monticello.

Chee C. Lee
Owned Canton Rest.

Chee C. Lee of Monticello, the owner of the Canton Restaurant, died Sunday, May 27, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Ivy Loshusan Lee; five children, Thomas, Douglas, Shirley, Timothy and Patricia; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held in Flushing on Thursday followed by interment in the Pinelawn Memorial Park.
