Stanley VanInwegen
Ret. Tel Emply., 68

Stanley W. "Bucky" VanInwegen of Monticello, a retired installation and repair specialist with over 33 years of service in the telephone company and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, November 3, 2002, in the Cape Coral Hospital in Florida. He was 68 years of age.
The son of Beatrice Evelyn VanInwegen and the late Stanley G. VanInwegen, he was born February 2, 1934, in Bloomingburg.
Mr. VanInwegen was a past assistant leader of Boy Scout Troop 181 in Forestburgh, a member of the American Legion, a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the American Corvette Association.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judith McKenzie VanInwegen, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Lynette VanInwegen of Arvilla, N.D., and his mother of Monticello.
A Celebration of Life Picnic will be held at the home of Linda and Dan Millis, Hardenburg Road, Youngsville, on Saturday.
Funeral arrangements were made by the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Monticello.

Alice R. Watts
Homemaker, 94

Alice R. Watts of Liberty, a former resident of Brooklyn and most recently a resident of the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Care Center. She was 94 years of age.
The daughter of the late George and Ellizabeth Schroeder Searls, she was born December 8, 1908, in Brooklyn. She was the widow of William Watts.
Mrs. Watts is survived by a daughter, June Healy of Bainbridge; a son, Donald Rishell of Staten Island; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marylyn Malak McNamara and a son, George Searls Jr.
Graveside services and burial were held Monday at the Krumville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County Adult Care Center Family Council, Liberty, N.Y. 12754.

Kasandra P. Sanders
9th Grade Student, 15

Kasandra P. Sanders of Monticello, a 9th grade student at the Monticello High School, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 15 years of age.
The daughter of David Young and Letrisha Sanders, she was born August 22, 1987 in Norwalk, Conn.
Miss Sanders was a member of the Girls Club of Monticello High School.
She is survived by her father of Norwalk, Conn.; her mother of Monticello; her maternal grandparents, Sherman Nixon of the state of Florida and Elaine Sanders of Monticello; her paternal grandparents, George Young of Jamaica and Millicent Hall of the state of Florida; a brother, Alexander Fullard Jr. of Monticello; two sisters, Kayla Martin and Letrisha Jefferson, both of Monticello; two half-brothers, Dave Young Jr. and David Young, both of Norwalk, Conn.; three half-sisters, Ebony Young of Bridgeport, Conn., Appolonia Young and Vannile Young, both of Paris, France; five aunts, Sheila Sanders, Schanell Bracey and Deborah Jefferson, all of Monticello and Denise Young and Ann Lindo-Young, both of Connecticut; three uncles, George Sanders and Travis Sanders, both of Monticello, and Sherman Nixon of the state of Florida; her godmother, Tatanisha Bracey of Monticello; several cousins, including a special cousin, Denise Sanders; and her best friend, Zakeya.
Services were held at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Monticello on Monday with the Rev. Mervin Armstead officiating.
Cremation was made in the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Alyce D. Seekins. 84
Ret. Dog Show Judge

Alyce Daly Seekins, a longtime resident of Jeffersonville, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Bethany Village, Pa. She was 84 years of age.
The daughter of the late Henry V. and Alice M. Beaton, she was born May 22, 1919, in Rhode Island. She was the widow of Rev. Robert J. Seekins Jr., an Episcopal clergyman, who died March 28, 1991.
Mrs. Seekins was the head of Volunteer Services at the Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown for many years. She was a national all-breeds dog show judge for the American Kennel Club for 35 years and had raised and raced Samoyed sled dogs since childhood. Mrs. Seekins authored a chapter in The Complete Samoyed edited by Robert and Dolly Ward, a major reference for that breed. The Seekinses had also rescued animals from Great Pyrenees dogs to Shih Tzus.
A lifelong Episcopalian, she was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Callicoon.
Services were held Monday at St. James Episcopal Church in Callicoon with Pastor Joan LaLiberte officiating.
Burial was made in the Greenhill Cemetery in Youngsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 296, Callicoon, N.Y. 12723.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.

Eva Bartholomew, 75
Ret. Owner Eva's Diner

Eva Jeszeck Bartholomew, a two-year resident of Bayville, N.J., a former resident of Sullivan County and the retired owner of Eva's Diner in Kauneonga Lake, which she operated for six years, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at her home. She was 75 years of age.
Born in New York City, she was the widow of Ken Bartholomew who died in 2001.
She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Sherlock, Janet Bell, Nancy Underwood and Kim Lilley; six grandchildren, Jamie Frost, Jennifer Bell, Mandie Glidden, Jill Bell, Tiffany Underwood and Tyler Underwood; a great-granddaughter, Breanna Glidden; four nieces and five nephews.
Services were held at the Mastapeter Funeral Home in Bayville, N.J.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Dyke Hospice Center, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, N.J. 08755

Robert E. Ganley
Ret. Financial Offc., 64

Robert E. Ganley of Kiamesha Lake, a retired financial officer for Banker's Trust of New York in Manhattan, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at his home. He was 64 years of age.
The son of the late George and Agnes Macauley Ganley, he was born June 5, 1938, in Brooklyn.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served from 1961 to 1963, and then remained in the Reserves for another four years.
Mr. Ganley was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello. He attended Syracuse University where he was a center for the basketball team.
In a family statement, it was said, "He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who considered his family to be the most important thing in the world. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for anyone. His love, joy and laughter will live in our hearts forever."
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda DeArio Ganley, at home; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Joseph Thompson of Brooklyn; four grandchildren, Karen, Brian, Matthew and Erin; two sisters, Grace Ganley of Smithtown and Lorraine Smith and her husband, Walter of Commack; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin J. Ganley, and two brothers, George and William Ganley.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Peter's Church, Broadway and Liberty St., Monticello, with Fr. Timothy Wiggins officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550 or to the Kevin Ganley Fund, Sunbridge of Lowell, 19 Varnum St., Lowell, Mass. 01850.
Funeral arrangements were made by the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Monticello.

A memorial service and burial of the cremains of Martha L. Harris of Harris, who died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
Arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Monticello.

A memorial service will be held for Marie Ihrig of Callicoon on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Jeffersonville. Friends are invited to Michelangelo's for a reception afterwards.

Harry Gelinson
Ret. Manager, 89

Harry Gelinson of Woodridge, a retired procurement manager for Lederle Laboratory in Pearl River and a former millinery cutter in New York City, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 89 years of age.
A Free and Accepted Mason, he was a member of the Lions Club in Pearl River and Toms River, N.J., a member of the Whiting Volunteer First Aid Squad for over 20 years, a member of the Pearl River Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a volunteer at Community Hospital in Toms River, N.J., for over 20 years.
Mr. Gelinson is survived by his wife, Blanche Waldman Gelinson, at home; two sons, Ira and his wife, Harriet Gelinson, of Ferndale, and Howard "Butch" Gelinson of New City; two granddaughters, Robin Zalben and Marcy Sorbello; two great-granddaughters, Hadassa and Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello with Rabbi Irwin Tanenbaum officiating.
Burial was made in the Jeffersonville Hebrew Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed on Tuesday at the Gelinson residence in Ferndale.
Memorial contributions may be made to the volunteer ambulance corps of one's choice.

Carlos M. Santos
Raleigh Emply., 20

Carlos M. Santos of Hurleyville, an employee of the Raleigh Hotel in South Fallsburg, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, as the result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Rock Hill. He was 20 years of age.
The son of Manuel Santos and Migdalia Garay, he was born June 7, 1983, in Puerto Rico.
He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Monticello.
In a family statement, it was said, "Carlos was a very friendly and caring person, loved by everyone. He always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by friends and family. He will always be in our hearts."
Mr. Santos is survived by his father of Monticello; his mother of Hurleyville; two sisters, Jasmine Santos and Aracelis Santos, both of Hurleyville; four aunts, Josefa Garay and Maria Garay, both of Puerto Rico, Sonia Garay of Mifflintown, Pa., and Benita Garay of South Fallsburg; two uncles William Garay of Puerto Rico and Hecto Garay of Mifflintown, Pa.; and seven cousins, Fabian, Luisito, Odalis, Julie, Eidy, Luis Miguel and Elizabeth.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday at St. Peter's Church in Monticello.
Burial was made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
