John Mudaro
Human Resource Ctr., 42

John Mudaro long term resident of St. Joseph’s Center at their So. Irving Scranton home and formerly of Honesdale, Pa., died June 6, 2007. He was 42.
John was a graduate of the JJ Kohler School in Honesdale, Pa. and then worked at the Human Resource Center until suffering a stroke in 1999. He will be greatly missed by his family and especially his many wonderful friends at St. Joe’s.
Survivors include his father, Samuel Mudaro and his companion, Joan Coffey of Flushing; his sister, Frances Clemente and her husband, Jeffrey of Beach Lake, Pa. and his brother, Sam Mudaro and his wife, Eva of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was predeceased in death by his mother, Seraphina Mudaro of Honesdale, Pa.
A memorial will be set at a future date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.

Vincent Wojdat
Ret. engineer, 76

Vincent Wojdat of Roscoe, a retired Senior Processing Engineer for Edo Corporation of College Point, and a longtime area resident, died Friday, June 8, 2007 in the Orange Regional Medical Center - Horton Campus, Middletown. He was 76.
The son of the late John and Emma Stammler Wojdat, he was born November 20, 1930 in Kulpmond, Pa.
Vincent was a Communicant of Gate of Heaven Church and a member of the church choir; he was a former fifteen-year-owner of the Burnt Hill Campground; a former ten-year employee of Reeves Instrument Corp; and he had been a self-employed general contractor and master electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Brzytwa-Wojdat, at home; two sons, Kurt Wojdat and his wife, Donna, of Oakfield; and Rey Wojdat and his fiancée, Kathy, of Endicott; two daughters, Heidi Wojdat of Roscoe and Janine Rosener and her husband, Richard, of Oneonta; three grandchildren, Brandon Wojdat, Cole Rosener and Brooke Rosener; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Linde G. Wojdat, in 1987.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 10, at the Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 11, at the Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe. Monsignor William Collins officiated.
Burial was made in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 121 Habitat Street, Americas, GA 31709-3498 or St. Aloysius Parish, Church Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe.

Grace Deighton
Ret. Seamstress, 89

Grace Rumsey Deighton, a retired seamstress for Little Tots, Inc., in Port Jervis and a longtime resident of Port Jervis, more recently of Johnson City, Tenn., died Thursday, August 5, 2004, in Johnson City. She was 89 years of age.
The daughter of the late Elvin and Daisy Moffat Rumsey, she was born November 23, 1915, in Leurenkill. She was the widow of Stanley Deighton.
Mrs. Deighton was a member of Drew United Methodist Church, Neversink Valley Grange #1530, River Valley Chapter #33, Order of the Eastern Star, and The Daughters of America, Council #29, all in Port Jervis.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Shirley Deighton of Conklin Hill, Pa.; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elsie and Paul Majka of Fogelsville, Pa.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
Burial will be made in Conklin Hill Cemetery, Damascus, Pa.

Leonard Fruchtman
Ret. Business Owner, 78

Leonard Fruchtman, the retired self employed owner and operator of a carpet cleaning service in Monticello, and a longtime area resident died on Monday, October 4, 2004 in Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 78.
He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was born on January 10, 1926 in Brooklyn to Morris and Lean Fruchtman.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Wurm Fruchtman at home in Monticello, his sons, Jack, Martin and Lee Fruchtman, his daughters, Phyllis Maybloom, Carol Kinnie, Susan Fruchtman, Audrey Ackerman and Brenda Fruchtman, his brothers Ruby, Leon and Harry Fruchtman, his sisters, Julie Fruchtman, Jean Graceffo and Rosie Frankiel Nitzan, and his 28 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his one son, Harold Fruchtman and two sisters, Ruth Solomon and Hilda Landow.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. on 388 Broadway, Monticello. Burial will be in the New Montefiore Cemetery, Pinelawn.
The family will be sitting Shiva at their own homes in Monticello and Florida.

Edward D. Spear
Business Owner, 60

Edward D. Spear of Blooming Grove, entered into eternal rest Monday, October 9, 2006. He was 60.
The son of the late Elmer J. and Bertha Roberts Spear, he was born Feb. 22, 1946 in Penns Grove, NJ.
He received a BS in Animal Husbandry and a MS in Herbicidal Chemistry from Cornell University. He attended the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana to pursue a doctorate.
Upon returning to Blooming Grove, he joined his brothers at Spear’s Cycle Shop. In 1976, he established Spear Bros. Lumber with his brother, Joe.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy McLaughlin Spear of Blooming Grove; his children, Laurie Lounsbury and husband, Craig of Aurora, Genevieve Mulhare and husband, Martin of Mamakating, Edward Spear and wife, Kelly of Wurtsboro, Rebecca Welsh and husband, Patrick of Tuxedo, Regina Merrigan and husband Michael of Westbrookville, Grace Brennan and husband Joseph of Manhattan and Gregory, Paul, and David at home; his grandchildren, Olivia Lounsbury, Seamus and Molly Mulhare, Emma, Edward, Eamon and Erin Spear, Grace, Marian, Natalie and Faith Welsh, Michael, Genevieve, Lydia and Evan Merrigan, Joseph, Madeline and Deaglan Brennan; his siblings, Margaret Duane and husband John of Highland Mills, John and wife Mary of Washingtonville, Elmer and wife Nina of Middletown, Joseph and wife Kathy of Blooming Grove, Marie Danna and husband, Tony of Huffman, Texas; sister-in-law, Helene Spear of Washingtonville and Howard and wife Beth of Newburgh; and 45 nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at St. Columba Church, High St., Chester.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Washingtonville.

Margaret M. Kelly
Ret. Bus Driver, 68

Margaret M. Kelly, a 12 year resident of Neversink, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 8, 2006 at her son’s home in Staten Island. She was 68.
The daughter of the late Harry and Irene Lange, she was born March 11, 1938 in Staten Island. She was the widow of Thomas Kelly, who she married May 23, 1964.
She was retired from Gershowitz Bus Co. where she was a bus driver and aide. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s Girls High School, Staten Island.
She is survived by six sons, Thomas and his wife, Gail, Michael and his wife, Lisa, James and his wife, Kelly, all of Staten Island, Robert and his wife, Kathy, of Spotswood, N.J., Daniel and his wife, Annabella of Manhattan, and Patrick and his wife, Alyssa of Neversink; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Kelly of Staten Island; two sisters, Irene Gorman and Eileen Van Keuren and her husband, Milton; a brother-in-law, Charles Kelly; 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Briana, Sean, Chris, Jesse, Brian, John, Taylor, Ashley, Riley and Lindsey Kelly; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John; her brother, Peter Lange; and a sister, Nina Lange.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, October 12, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.
Burial followed at Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hanley Funeral Home in Staten Island.

Janet McWhorter
Business Owner, 69

Janet Turner McWhorter of Greenwood, SC, and formerly of Galilee, Pa., died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at home. She was 69.
She was born June 1, 1937 in Honesdale, Pa., the daughter of the late John William and Amelia Kime Turner. She was the wife of the late Jim McWhorter.
She was a graduate of Damascus High School, Damascus, Pa., and the Carbondale School of Cosmetology. She was the owner and operator of Janet’s New Image Hair Salon, and a member of West Side Baptist Church. She served on the SC Board of Cosmetology, and she bred and showed world champion Pomeranians.
Surviving are one son, Stephen Erhardt of Hollywood, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy, a son, John Robert; and a brother, Jack Turner.
Funeral services were held in Greenwood, S.C. at Blyth Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was made in Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 15 at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St., Narrowsburg.

Theresia Mayenzet
Ret. Farmer, 87

Theresia Mayenzet of Liberty, a long time resident of Terrace Avenue in Jeffersonville and East Hill, Youngsville died October 11, 2006 of heart failure in Harris. She was 87.
The eldest daughter of 21 children, she was born December 15, 1919 to Bertha Brugger-Cina of Salgesch, Switzerland. She immigrated to America in 1953 with her husband Emil and four children, hoping to ensure an easier living for her husband and better educational opportunities for her children.
Her life was devoted to caring for family and helping on their East Hill dairy farm. She was the best mom and an even better grandma and great grandma. Her children arrived home to an oven warmed kitchen and baked goodies at the end of every school day. And, of course, a mom at the kitchen stove who made all the time in the world to hear about every detail of each of her six children’s day.
Surviving are two daughters, Carmen Meyers of Liberty and Dina Griggs of Durham, N.C.; three sons, Emil “Jake” Mayenzet of Colorado Springs, Colo., Peter Mayenzet and his wife, Mary Lou, of Cat,o and Roy Mayenzet and his wife, Lisa of North Branch; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Mayenzet (wife of John) of Denver, Colo; nine grandchildren, Valerie Meyers and her husband, Robert Van Harlingen of Liberty, Arthur Meyers and his wife, Tiana of Sante Fe, N.M., Janine Griggs and her husband, Michael Schartz of Seattle, Wash., Ingra Sparkman and her husband, Trey of Victoria, Texas, Dolly Ciula and her husband, Sebastian of Colorado Springs, Colo., Peter Mayenzet of Cato, Brian Mayenzet and his wife, Carly of Cato, Mara and Brandon Mayenzet of North Branch; five great-grandchildren, May Meyers of Liberty and Devon Sharp and Brendon, Abigail and Amelia Theresia Sparkman of Victoria, Texas; a brother, Bernard Cina of Basel, Switz.; three sisters and their husbands, Ida and Paul Pluss-Cina of Olten, Bertha and Freddy Williman-Cina of Basel, Sylvia and Markus Graber-Cina of Flawil, all in Switz.; and dozens of well-loved nieces and nephews (four of them in the USA), Richard Cina of Jeffersonville, Donald Cina of Elmira, Joyce Penwarden of Jeffersonville and Janice Yzeik of Lake Ariel, Pa. She was predeceased by her husband Emil in 1991, and her son, John in 1994.
The cremains will be buried in Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville at the conveniennce of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
