Jeffrey Bowers Jr., 1

Jeffrey Scott Bowers Jr. of Livingston Manor died Thursday, August 14, 2003, as the result of an outdoor accident at home. He was two days shy of his second birthday.
The son of Jeffrey Scott Bowers Sr. and Jamie Marie Maus Weigand, he was born August 16, 2001, in Walton.
He is survived by his father of Roscoe, his mother of Livingston Manor; three brothers, John Walter William Weigand of Livingston Manor, and Ryan Scott Bowers and Michael Wesley Bowers, both of Roscoe; a sister, Amy Lynn Bowers of Roscoe; his maternal grandmother, Darlene Karen Maus and her companion, John Roser Jr, of Livingston Manor; his maternal grandfather, Alton H. Maus and his wife, Bonnie, of Sherburne; his paternal grandfather, Robert Boyer of Liberty; his maternal great-grandmother, Laverna Maus of Roscoe; a great-aunt, Dawn Zeninger and her husband, Mark, of Livingston Manor; three aunts, Brenda, Sandy and Anna May; six uncles, Bill, Bucky, Bobby, Big Jim, Otto and Kenny; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins in his extended family. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Irene Bowers Boyer.
Services were held Monday at the Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. James O'Rourke officiating.
Burial was private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Jeffrey's name at a later date.

John G. Rosetti
Ret. Civil Engr., 88

John G. "Jack" Rosetti of Roscoe, a civil engineer for the New York City Board of Water Supply in Delaware County, and a longtime area resident, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, at the Cortland Memorial Hospital in Cortland. He was 88 years of age.
The son of the late Anthony and Mary Mackin Rosetti, he was born October 11, 1915, in Greenwich Village. He was the widower of Florence Rosetti.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Floyd Keener American Legion Post in Roscoe. Mr. Rosetti was a communicant of the Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe, and a member of the Twin Village Golf Club in Roscoe.
He is survived by two sons, David R. Rosetti and his wife, Kathy, of Virgil, and John W. Rosetti of Roscoe; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Laurenthal of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Katie Ella, Andrew, T.J., Joe, Patricia, Katie and Jackie. He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Knapp.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at Gate of Heaven Church in Roscoe on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Father Collins officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Transplant Unit of the Mayo Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe.

Joel Feigenbaum
Ret. Lt. Col. USAF, 77

Lt. Col. Joel J. Feigenbaum, USAF (Ret.), of San Antonio, Tex., died June 22, 2003, following a long bout with cancer. He was 77 years of age.
The son of the late Murray and Mary Feigenbaum, he was born December 31, 1925, in Newburgh, and was raised in Monticello.
During World War II, he served as a B-29 gunner engineer and flew 25 missions over Japan. After the war he attended Westminster College, attaining a BBA in 1949. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War and was an armament officer, 8th Fighter Bomber Wing, in Suwon, Korea. Lt. Col. Feigenbaum also served the State Department as Chief of Psychological Warfare Officer in Saigon, Vietnam.
Among his many awards and decorations are the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Air Medal with three clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and a medal presented by the Government of South Vietnam.
In 1975, he was the director of recruiting and became instructor of training at Lackland AFB in Texas in 1979. He was instrumental in activating the Texas 782nd AFJROTC Program at John Jay High School in San Antonio, Tex., which became the largest Air Force Junior ROTC in the world.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor Feigenbaum; a daughter, Ellen; and two special grandsons, Aaron and Sam.
Services and burial with full military honors was held at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on August 5.

Dr. Paul C. Lipschutz
Ret. Physician, 89

Dr. Paul Lipschutz of Middletown, a retired 55-year physician, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, at his home. He was 89 years of age.
The son of the late Max and Sarah Mayer Lipschutz, he was born January 4, 1914, in New York City. He was the widower of Evelyn Green Lipschutz.
A graduate of Middletown High School and the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Lipschutz was a member of Temple Sinai. He became a licensed physician in 1938 and interned at New York University Medical Center Bellevue Hospital. During World War II he served in the European Theatre of War as a major in the Medical Corps.
Dr. Lipschutz passed the Boards in Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology in 1975 and practiced these specialties until his retirement. He was a member of the American Medical Society, John M. Sheldon Allergy Society, International Association of Asthmology, a Fellow in the American Academy of Allergy and New York Diabetes Association, a former member of the Middletown Elks Lodge No. 1097, and a 50-year member of American Legion Post 151 in Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, former Liberty Mayor Ida "Skippy" Frankel Lipschutz, at home; two stepsons, Alex Frankel and Marc Alan Frankel, both of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Mark Alan Lipschutz and two brothers, Frank and Jacob Lipschutz.
Services were held Sunday at Temple Sinai in Middletown with Rabbi Joel Schwab officiating.
Interment was made in Temple Sinai Cemetery in Circleville.

Dewitt Bernard
Ret. Custodian, 73

Dewitt Bernard of Tuxedo, a retired custodian for Ramapo Central School District #1 for over 30 years, died suddenly on August 14, 2003, at his home. He was 73 years of age.
The son of the late Dewitt and Lucy Morse Bernard, he was born December 6, 1929, in Ellenville.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Brown Bernard, at home; six children, Erica Bernard of Tuxedo, Teresa Colby of Middletown, Regina Trawalle of South Fallsburg, Debbie Bernard of Liberty, George Bernard of Middletown and Martin Bernard of Orange County; a sister, Lena Conklin of Arden; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a dog, Shawna, and a cat, Baby Dumplin.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Warwick Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Roy M. Baldwin
Ret. Teacher, 76

Roy M. Baldwin of Goshen, a retired Goshen Central High School teacher, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, at the Horton Campus of the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 76 years of age.
The son of the late Fred and Mamie Johnson Baldwin, he was born December 17, 1926, in Milanville, Pa.
Mr. Baldwin was also a longtime baseball coach at the Goshen High School. He was a past village trustee, a member of the Minisink Hook and Ladder Co., both in Goshen; a former president of the Goshen Teachers Association and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen.
He is survived by his wife, Annie H. Baldwin, at home; four daughters, Jyl Baldwin of Oakland, Calif., Pam Rysinger of Wurtsboro, Lori Kuroski of Goshen and Jamie Goggins of Walden; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at the Donovan Funeral Home in Goshen with Father Bob Sweeney officiating.
Interment was private.
Memorial contributions to a baseball scholarship, to be given to a senior student at the Goshen Central High School, may be sent to Annie Baldwin, 12 Crescent Dr., Goshen, N.Y. 10924.

Coleman M. Gable
Ret. Police Offc., 96

Coleman M. Gable, a resident of Yeadon, Pa., and Narrowsburg, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at the Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He was 96 years of age.
The son of the late Charles and Florence Mueller Gable, he was born May 25, 1907, in Philadelphia, Pa.
He retired after 20 years of service as a police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department and then retired again after working another 20 years as a security manager for the Janney Montgomery-Scott Co.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Hommel Gable, at home; and many special relatives and friends.
Services were held Monday at the Rasmussen Sons Funeral Home in Narrowsburg with the Rev. Phyllis Haynes officiating.
Burial was made in Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Narrowsburg, N.Y. 12764.

Norman F. Carson
Maintenance Man, 57

Norman F. "Stormin' Norman" Carson of Hortonville, a maintenance man and a "jack of all trades," died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at his home. He was 57 years of age.
He was born in Long Island.
Mr. Carson is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Trudy and Kevin Gorman; and a few good friends.
Private cremation was made.

Memorial Service
For Thelma Herbert

A memorial service will be held following the regular church service (10:30-11:30 a.m.) at the Fremont Center Community Church on Sunday, December 7. Mrs. Herbert, a lifelong area resident and a longtime historian for the Town of Fremont, was born September 6, 1916, and died November 9, 2003.
Friends are invited to help celebrate Thelma's life of which she gave so freely to her church and community.

George Chelakian
Ret. Dairy Farmer, 85

George Chelakian of Jeffersonville, a 48-year resident and a retired dairy farmer, died Friday, November 28, 2003, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. He was 85 years of age.
The son of the late Theodore and Irmonja Mazarian Chelakian, he was born October 15, 1918, in Yeevan, Armenia.
Mr. Chelakian was a member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Service of Sullivan County and the Agway Cooperation.
He is survived by his wife, Lubow Makareno Chelakian, at home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Monica and Louis Mills of Bloomingburg, Liza and Laurie Duncan of Voorheesville, and Tonya and Andy Hahn of Jeffersonville; two grandsons, Michael and Christopher Hahn; and several nieces and nephews in Rostov, Russia.
Services were held Monday at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville.
Burial was made in Calvary Cemetery in Youngsville.
