Forest W. Linton
Died: Thursday, November 20, 2003
Age: 83

COOLVILLE - Forest W. Linton, 83, of Coolville, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, W.Va.

Born May 31, 1920, in Frost, he was the son of the late Ernest Eugene and Almedia Barnhart Linton.

During World War II, he was a member of the Army Air Service Group. He also was a member of Coolville Lodge 337 F&AM, where he served as a past master, and a charter member of Coolville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed his retirement years performing with Speck’s Bluegrass Band.

He is survived by his wife, Virgene “Jean”; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Rodney Dennis of Belpre, and Rebecca and Harold Hartman of Athens, Ga.; five grandchildren, H.W. Hartman III, Tayna Hartman, Erica Hartman-Boatright, Madesta Metz and Torrance Dennis; two sisters, Clarice Norman and Janice McGee; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Evan, Earl, Bernard and Robert; and two sisters, Fern Secoy and Lillian Dye.

Services will be held Sunday, 2 p.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. Dave Cogar officiating. Burial and graveside military rites will be conducted in Coolville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Ellen Marie Oxley
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2003
Age: 91

ATHENS - Ellen Marie Oxley, 91, of Athens, passed away early Tuesday morning, Dec. 30, 2003, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.

Born on Tick Ridge in Bern Twp., June 4, 1912, she was the daughter of the late John and Almeda Roberts McCune. She was formerly employed at A&P Grocery and did volunteer work with the American Cancer Society. She attended First Church of God.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Dennis) Riley of Athens; a son, Melvin (Barbara) Oxley of Athens; a granddaughter, Amy (David) Carder of Athens; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Justin Carder of Athens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey, in 1992; sisters, Goldie McCune and Hazel Dillehay; and a brother, Sam McCune.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 11 a.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, by minister Willard Love. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

William Ray Antle
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2003
Age: 68

JACKSONVILLE - William Ray Antle, 68, of Cumming, Ga., originally from Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at his residence.

Antle had been an employee of BP Oil Co. for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cumming.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rosalie Gaye Antle of Cumming; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Ron Harrison of Cumming; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Violet Antle of Springfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Curtis Phillips of Gilbert, Ariz.; and other relatives.

Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, Cumming, with Dr. Bob Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kenneth Eugene Russell
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2003
Age: 77

THE PLAINS - Kenneth Eugene Russell, 77, the son of the late Otto R. and Jessica Florence Crosser Russell, died surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital. He was born July 28, 1926, and was a resident of The Plains. Ken was married for 54 years to Marie Ann Mulpas Russell.

Ken was a 1944 graduate of Chauncey High School. He had a bachelors degree in business administration from Ohio University and a graduate degree in accounting. Ken was formerly employed by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation and was the financial analyst for graduate programs at Ohio University. He retired from his certified accounting business in 1994. Ken was a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Ken enjoyed young people and sports. He was an Ohio High School Association official for more than 30 years. He refereed both football and basketball.

Ken was a 50-year member of Trimble Lodge 507 F&AM, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Athens County Shrine Club.

He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in Italy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (John) Koons of Millfield; a daughter, Rhonda Russell of Westerville; grandchildren, Tara (Bill) Sayre and Beth (Shaun) Six of Millfield, Adam Cullimore and Josh Russell-Seitz of Westerville; great-grandchildren, Tyler Sayre and Jayne Six of Millfield; a brother, Lawrence Russell of Chauncey; two sisters, Shirley (George) Simons of Jacksonville and Donna (Bill) Bobo of Millfield; a sister-in-law, Ethel (Lloyd) Blackford of Heath; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glen; and his father- and mother-in-law, Charles and Eveth Mulpas.

Visitation will be held at Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Masonic services will be held at 7. Funeral services will conducted by the Rev. Stephen Bentley and Ken’s daughter, Debbie, on Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, with military graveside rites conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trimble Elementary PTO Bucks for Books, c/o Peggy Miller, 18500 Jacksonville Road, Glouster, OH 45732.

Ada B. Rheinesheld
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2003
Age: 87

LOGAN - Ada B. Rheinesheld, 87, of Lancaster, formerly of Logan, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Valley View Nursing Home, Lancaster.

Born Nov. 7, 1916, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Margaret Krieger Wuertz. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald R. Rheinesheld.

Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Logan, with the Revs. Paul Elhard and Lawrence “Bud” Myers officiating. Burial will be New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge.

Eduardo Villasenor
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2003
Age: 49

ALBANY - Eduardo Villaseñor, 49, of Albany, passed away in James Cancer Hospital in Columbus on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003.

Born Jan. 23, 1954, in San Diego, Calif., he was the son of Jose Luis Villaseñor Sr. of Mexico City, Mexico, and the late Carlotta Boynton Villaseñor Mitchem. He was an electronic technician.

He is survived by two sons, Edward T. Villaseñor of San Diego and Luis P. Villaseñor of Athens; sisters, Maria Virginia (Vince) Maculatis of Dennison and Rosa A. (Will) Dillion of Albany; a brother, Jose Luis (Virginia) Villaseñor Jr. of San Diego; an uncle, Jorge San Vicente; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jim Mitchem.

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial, in San Diego. Local arrangements were by Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home.

Ellen Marie Oxley
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2003
Age: 91

Floyd Raymond Derby
Died: Monday, December 29, 2003
Age: 92

ATHENS - Floyd Raymond Derby, 92, of Athens, died early Monday afternoon at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.

Born Jan. 28, 1911, in Freeport, Ill., he was the son of the late George and Sybilla Bender Derby. He was formerly employed as a draftsman with Beloit Corp. A graduate of Freeport High School, he was an avid track runner and football player in high school. He was also an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and gardener and volunteered at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit, Wis., for many years.

He is survived by a daughter, Marsha (Allyn) Reilly of Athens; granddaughters, Caitlin Reilly-Schave and her husband, Ben, of Austin, Texas, Megan Reilly of New Orleans, La., and Carolyn Reilly of Oak Ridge, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, in 1999; and a sister, Yvonne Hoak.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd conducted by Fr. Michael Jupin. Arrangements are by Jagers and Sons Funeral Home. John E. Causey
Died: Monday, December 29, 2003
Age: 69

REEDSVILLE - John E. Causey, 69, of Reedsville, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Mount Caramel Hospital, Columbus.

Born April 29, 1934, in Hazard, Ky., he was the son of the late Dewey and Florancey Joseph Causey.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Westfall Causey; sons, Rick and John Causey; and daughters, Teresa Shamp and Jenny Causey.

Services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, with Pastor George Horner officiating. Burial will be in Heiney Cemetery, Reedsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the funeral home.
