Kathleen Campbell
ATHENS - Kathleen "Kay" Campbell, 83, of Fairview Avenue, Athens, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Brookside Rehabilitation Center, The Plains.
Born April 2, 1917, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Oril A. and Rea Gillette Carpenter. A lifelong resident of Athens, she had retired as director of the placement bureau at Ohio University. She was a graduate of Athens High School and Ohio University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, First Families of Athens County, several literary societies, Athens County Historical Society and OU Honorary Music Society. She had volunteered many hours at the Athens Police Department and the senior citizens center.
She is survived by a grandson, Geoffrey Briggs of Washington, D.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and William Knapp of Rogers, Ark.; and a niece, Carol Pitcher of Peoria, Ill.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, G. Victor Campbell.
Kay will be remembered for her humorous, warm and charitable nature, especially by Ohio University students whom she assisted for many years in her position until retirement as director of the placement bureau in Cutler Hall.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel at First United Methodist Church, Athens, by the Rev. Barbara Carriere.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent toward the Kathleen Campbell Memorial Student Scholarship Fund, in care of First United Methodist Church, 2 S. College St., Athens 45701.

Kathryn Campbell
GALLIPOLIS - Kathryn Lynn Campbell, 26, of 3381 Mount Olive Road, Bidwell, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Holzer Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 13, 1974, in Gallipolis, daughter of Mike and Rita Eisfelder Hager of Bidwell. She was a registered nurse at Holzer Medical Center.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael J. Campbell; children, 4-year-old Joshua Michael, 2-year-old Abby Nicole, and three-week-old Jacob Matthew.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church, Gallipolis. Burial will be in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at Cremeens Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis, on Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made toward the future education of Mrs. Campbell's children, in care of Ohio Valley Bank, 420 Third Ave., Gallipolis.

Margaret Peery
WELLSTON - Margaret Z. Peery, 89, of Wellston, died Monday morning, Jan. 8, 2001, at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson.
She was born Jan. 26, 1911, in Maxwell, Va., daughter of the late John and Belle Pruitt Long. She was a housewife.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Georgia B. Lester of Elkton, Md., and Virginia and Ike Fountain of Wellston; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Peery Sr.; two sons, John W. Peery and Walter F. Peery Jr.; four grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston, with Pastor Dave Sheetz officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Bluefield, Va.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 6 to 8 p.m.

Mary Chapman
ATHENS - Mary M. Chapman, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born May 10, 1919, in New England, Ohio, daughter of the late Jesse E. and R. Anna Tippie Baker, both of Athens County.
Mrs. Chapman was a 1937 graduate of Canaan Twp. High School and a former employee of O'Bleness Memorial Hospital. A longtime resident of Canaan Twp., she attended Canaanville United Methodist Church, and enjoyed walking with her many friends at University Mall. She will be remembered for her warm, humorous and charitable nature, as well as being a devoted mother and loving grandparent.
She is survived by daughters Dorothy Golden of Lancaster and Kathy (Bob) Myers of Athens; sons A. LeRoy (Ann) Chapman of Parkersburg and Dennis Chapman (Karla Mitchell) of Athens; a daughter-in-law, Susie Chapman; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; and special friends Frieda Shields and Bea Hawk of Athens, as well as Juanita and Harry Lodwick of Galveston, Texas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1982; a sister, Kathryn Copeland; brothers Francis, George, Harold, Albert and Bill Baker; and a son-in-law, Robert Golden.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Canaanville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Mary Lanning
LOGAN - Mary Dolores Lanning, 78, of Norman, Okla., formerly of Murray City and Logan, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Sunbridge Nursing Home, Lancaster.
She was born Dec. 17, 1922, in New Straitsville, daughter of the late Homer and Hazel Flowers Blosser. She was a financial assistant for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
She is survived by a son, Dale Lanning of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. William (Vicki) Mannick of Norman; grandchildren Greg, Terri, Schawn and Kevin; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence M. Lanning, in 1968.
Services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Fr. John Mucha officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, New Straitsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Virgil McWhorter
HAMDEN - Virgil E. McWhorter, 63, of Hamden, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Huston Nursing Home.
Born March 13, 1937, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Harvey G. and Cora Scurlock McWhorter.
Graveside services are Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Byer Cemetery. Friends may call at McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston, on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Oleta Koch
LANCASTER - Oleta R. Koch, 92, of Lancaster, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Sunbridge-Homestead Nursing Home, Lancaster.
She was born May 13, 1908, in Rockbridge, daughter of the late John R. and Jennie Anderson Rider.
She is survived by a son, Dale W. Koch; and daughters, Nolene K. Kelley and Virginia L. Koch.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan. Burial will be in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Olive Satterfield
MIDDLEPORT - Olive Butcher Satterfield, 90, of Middleport, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
She was born March 1, 1910, in Meigs County, daughter of the late Harvey and Vona Kennedy Butcher.
She is survived by a daughter, Eleanor Blaettnar; and a son, Jack Satterfield Jr.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Satterfield Sr.
Services will be held today, 2 p.m., at Fisher-Acree Funeral Home in Middleport. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire. Calling hours were held Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meigs County Senior Citizens Center, 112 E. Memorial Drive, Pomeroy 45769.

Patricia Skeens
DUNDAS - Patricia Skeens, 68, of Dundas, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Huston Nursing Home, Hamden.
She was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Clinton Twp., Vinton County, daughter of the late Joseph and Hester McNeely Holtz.
She is survived by children Linda Griffy, Virginia Wolfe, Robert, Jim, Raymond, Mike, Richard, Steve and Gary Skeens Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar T. Skeens.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Ralph McCune
STEWART - Ralph A. McCune, 85, of Stewart, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Morgan County Care Center, McConnelsville.
He was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Armadale, son of the late Archie and Nellie Fawcett McCune.
He is survived by three sons, Robert, Joseph and Arch; and three daughters, Alice Van Fossen, Karen Morris and Donna Holland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Robertson McCune.
Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Stone-Matheney Funeral Home, Chesterhill. Burial will be in Chesterhill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Ruby Ousley
LOGAN - Ruby Elizabeth Ousley, 89, of Logan, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Logan Healthcare Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Hallsville, daughter of the late Clarence Beeman and Nora M. Congrove Leasure.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Floyd J. Williams and Clarence Ousley.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery, Green Twp., Hocking County.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Russell Mollohan
POMEROY - Russell Mollohan, 92, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center, Pomeroy.
He was born March 10, 1908, in Nebo, W.Va., son of the late William and Myrtle Postalwaite Mollohan. He was a retired laborer.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Alice of Doylestown; four daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Vernon Millhone of Tuppers Plains, Glenna and Montie Sanders of Reedsville, Wanda and Clarence Wolf of Chester, and Carol and Harold Vance of Baltimore; two brothers, Vernon Mollohan of California and Jennings Mollohan of Coolville; two sisters, Violet Jones of Coolville and Vallie Wheeler of Ravenna; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; and a sister, Hattie Alltop.
Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at White Funeral Home in Coolville, with Robert Sanders and Harold Vance officiating. Burial will be held in Tuppers Plains Christian Cemetery in Tuppers Plains. Calling hours were held on Saturday.
