Homer "Bus" Wagner
Died: Saturday, September 27, 2003
Age: 77

Homer “Bus” Wagner, 77, of Hillsboro, formerly of Washington Court House, died Saturday (Sept. 27, 2003) at Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro. His wife, Margaret Jane Shadley Wagner, preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 1991.

Mr. Wagner was born July 18, 1926, in Otway, a son of the late Homer Levi and Dora Agnes Robinson Wagner. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Wagner was retired from Irwin Auger Bit.

Mr. Wagner is survived by three daughters, Edna Nunley of Sabina, Linda Holden of Sabina and Ann Davis of Georgia; two sons, James Wagner of Washington Court House and Edson Wagner of Sabina; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Wagner of Jamestown.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Simonson, three grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.

The funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with interment in the New Holland Cemetery, New Holland. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wendell "Andy" Shelton
Died: Saturday, September 27, 2003
Age: 70

Wendell “Andy” Shelton, 70, of Martinsville, died Saturday (Sept. 27, 2003) at Heartland of Hillsboro.

Mr. Shelton was born April 10, 1933, in Clinton County, a son of the late Samuel Noble and Elizabeth Priscilla Brooks Shelton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Shelton is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Moser of Geneva, Ind., and Wanda VanBuron of Rosenburg, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Janet Shaw of Hillsboro; several grandchildren; two sisters, Maud Roberts of Somerset, Ky., Katie Olds of Middletown; and three brothers, Homer Shelton of Hillsboro, John Wilbur Shelton of Florida and Dean Dennison Shelton of Arkansas.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen Noble, Kenneth Irvin, Robert Orion and Rollie Branson; and two sisters, Eunice Aldha and Lena Mae Bryant.

The funeral service will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Anita Perdue Perry
Died: Friday, September 26, 2003
Age: 40

Anita Perdue Perry, 40, of Post Falls, Idaho, formerly of Wilmington, died Sept. 26, 2003. Her husband, Jerry Perry Jr. of Post Falls, Idaho, survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her grandmother, Elly Spiess of Schwalbach, Germany; her mother and stepfather, Edith and Jerry Perry; father and stepmother, Harold and Terri Perdue; a sister, Ruby (Todd) Vanscoy; a stepbrother, Darrell (Edith) Perry; two stepsisters, Anna Perry and Angela Allender; a niece, Megan Teboe; a nephew, Robert (Bo) Teboe and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Allison Room at Friendly Center, 290 Prairie Ave., Wilmington.

Michelle Kay Stone
Died: Friday, September 26, 2003

Michelle Kay Stone, 25 days, of Lynchburg, died Friday (Sept. 26, 2003) at Children’s Medical Center in Dayton.

She was born Sept. 1, 2003, in Wilmington, a daughter of Michael Stone and Tracy Walters Stone.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Cassidy Stone and Casey Stone of Lynchburg; a brother, Michael Stone Jr. of Lynchburg; grandparents, Donna Shepherd of Wilmington, Gary Stone, Latham, William and Jody Walters of Hillsboro and Larry Shepherd of Martinsville; great-grandparents, Lloyd Stone of Wilmington, and Joann and Al Fulton of Wilmington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, Glenn King officiating, with interment in the Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dale Earl Adams
Died: Wednesday, December 10, 2003
Age: 63

Dale Earl Adams, 63, of 250 S. Nelson Ave., Lot 20, Wilmington, died 11:50 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2003) at Hospice of Dayton. His wife, Pamela Ann Clark Adams, survives. They were married July 2, 2001.

Mr. Adams was born April 8, 1940, in Clinton County, son of Mabel Marie Barr Adams of Martinsville and the late Earl Elijah Adams. He worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two stepsons, Donald (Trina) Burkett of Mississippi and Michael (Kim) Cook of Wilmington; two stepdaughters, Melinda Cook of Wilmington and Bobbie Burkett of Texas; three brothers, Robert (Wanda) Adams of Williamsburg, Joe (Karen) Adams of Lynchburg and Chris (Dora) Adams of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Linda (Art) Whitaker of Martinsville and Kay (James) Hofer of Clarksville; five stepgrandchildren; his mother-in-law, Laura Cox of Blanchester; a brother-in-law, Richard Caplinger of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Mary Peckolt of Celina; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Kip Adams.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with burial in Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, 45420.

Winston Florence
Died: Wednesday, December 10, 2003
Age: 61

Winston Florence, 61, of Hillsboro, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2003) at his residence. His wife, Janet Freeman Florence, survives. They were married June 21, 1963, in Lansing, Mich.

Mr. Florence was born Jan. 15, 1942, in Cynthiana, Ky., son of the late Robert Newton and Ethel Mae Navarre Florence. He was a retired employee of Executive Cellular. He was a 1961 graduate of Harrison County High School in Cynthiana, Ky., and a 1965 graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He was a member and past president of the Lynchburg Lions Club and a J-13 District youth chairman representative to the Ohio Lions Club. He also was a member of the Pricetown Church of Christ and had served for 10 years as pastor of the Mt. Victory Church near Kenton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Winston David (Gloria) Florence of Hamilton, James (Shara Cox) Florence of Hillsboro, Steve (Amy) Florence of Lebanon, Dan (Rhonda) Florence of Hillsboro and John (Wendy Krzys) Florence of Maineville; 13 grandchildren, Jenny Kennel, Brian Adkins, Christina Angel, Jackie Willis, Michael Willis, Savannah Florence, Cheyenne Florence, Shana Florence, Erin Florence, Syndi Cox, Sam Florence, Anna Florence and Shalaina Hauke; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Nana Humphrey of Cnythiana, Ky., Inez Webb of Chicago, Ill., Susan Jennings of Oxford, Ga., Lois Moore of Cynthiana, Ky. and Mary Ann May of Sadieville, Ky.; and a brother, Cecil Florence of Greencastle, Ind.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pricetown Church of Christ, Leo Kuhn officiating, with burial in the Barker Cemetery, Pricetown. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the TURNER AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St., Hillsboro, and from 10 a.m. until time of the services Saturday at the church. Lions club memorial services will be 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation, c/o Phil McElwee, 134 E. South St., Hillsboro, 45133.

Dorothy R. Koch
Died: Tuesday, December 09, 2003
Age: 87

Dorothy R. Koch, 87, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Dec. 9, 2003) at Cape May Retirement Village in Wilmington. Her husband, Walter A. Koch, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Koch was born June 5, 1916, in Highland County, daughter of the late Christian L. and Minnie May Jones Redkey. A graduate of Greenfield McClain High School, she was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Sara Kathryn Redkey of Hillsboro; seven nieces and nephews, Georgia M. Chaney of Wilmington, Maxine Cramton of Columbus, James Cramton of Martinsville, Marilyn (Lou) Bitar of Philadelphia, Pa., Loren (Linda) Redkey of Hillsboro, Rita (Bob) Jones of Hyannis, Mass. and Jayne (Ford) Halter of Hamilton; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James Edwin Redkey, Robert Wayne Redkey, William J. “Bill” Redkey and Christian L. Redkey; and two sisters, Margaret A. McConnaughey and Kathryn R. Cramton.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington, 45177. HOPE MILLER-THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, Hillsboro, is handling arrangements.
