Pamela L. Burson
Pamela L. Burson, 47, Sunbury, passed away at home Saturday (January 19, 2002) after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was a 1972 graduate of Meigs High School and a 1974 graduate of Hocking College. She was employed with American Electric Power Service Corporation since 1979.
Pamela is survived by her life companion of 17 years, Dianne Thompson; her mother, Jeanne Burson Kelly of Florida; her grandmother, Dorothy Bishop of Florida; three brothers, Steve Burson of Florida, Mark (Jeanie) Burson of Shade and Keith Burson of Gallipolis; two nephews, Tom Burson of Shade and Brian Burson of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; her niece, Bobbie Jeanne Burson of Shade; six aunts, Joan and Mary Burson of Athens, Harriett Meeks of Shade, Midge Shumway of Granville, Nancy (Loren) Israel of Wellston and Clydene Gabriel of Illinois; two uncles, Jack Carsey of Pomeroy and Dick Stanley of Akron; and by many wonderful relatives and very special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Burson of Shade.
Friends called at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Luncheon for all at the Sunbury United Methodist Church, 100 West Cherry Street, where services will follow at noon with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Committal service was at in the Athens Memory Gardens.
The family asks for memorial contributions to be made to Secret Angels, in care of Huntington National Bank, 17 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215 (Reference Account #01892147002).

Luther M. Burton
Luther M. Burton, 83, Galena, died Friday (Feb. 12, 1999) at Manor Care Nursing Home, Westerville.
He was born in Louisa, Ky., on March 11, 1915, to the late John and Dorothy (Damron) Burton. He owned and operated Burton Machine Co. in Gahanna for 40 years. He was a member of Ralph R. Rickly Lodge No. 670 F&AM and the Kentucky Colonels.
He is survived by a son, John Burton, Columbus; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Emma Lee and Russ Hicks, Canal Winchester, and Bonnie Peters, Louisa, Ky.
He was preceded in death by by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy M. Burton on May 3, 1995; one daughter Linda Burton Bashon in 1970; two brothers, Glenn and Homer; and two sisters, Dimple D. and Donna Jean.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home. Funeral services followed with the Rev. Stacy Evans officiating. Burial was in the Galena Cemetery.

Bill Bush
William "Bill" R. Bush, 65, Marengo, died Friday (Feb. 12, 1999) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
He was born in Sunbury on Nov. 15, 1933, to the late Arthur A. and Mary A. (Blaine) Bush. He was a lifelong area resident and retired from the Fruehauf Corp. after 20 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He attended Cornerstone Community Church.
He is survived by his former wife, Jean (Daniels) Bush; four sons and daughters-in-law, William, Jr., and Trudy Bush, Sunbury, Richard A. and Lorene Bush, Sparta, Kevin and Haddie Bush, Sunbury and Arthur A. and Martha Bush, Bladensburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Ron Nininger, Centerburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Roy Cooper, St. Louisville, and Bernice ad Aaron Kearns, Howard; and 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held at Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta with the Rev. James Cichon officiating.

Elmer J. Buxton
Elmer J. Buxton, 78, Galena, died Sunday (February 11, 2001) at his home. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Spring Road Church of Christ.
Buxton was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Pruett and by brothers and sisters Leroy Buxton, Catherine Kemp, Dorothy Thomas, Billy Buxton and Fred Buxton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel; children, Jacquelyn Michael, Lorraine (John) Paver, Vaughn (Jim) Hall, William (Beth) Buxton, Constance Mondt and Rosemary (Tom) Svec; 28 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Buxton; and by a sister, Phyllis (Jim) Ream.
Visitation was at the Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. Services were held tat the Spring Road Church of Christ, 74 South Spring Road, Westerville with ministers David Myers and Everett Confer officiating. Interment was in Northlawn Memory Gardens.

Janice E. Cain
Janice E. Cain, 64, Delaware, died unexpectedly Thursday morning (March 22, 2001) at her home.
She was born September 20, 1936 in Columbus to the late James E. Martin and Edna Jones Carson.
A lifelong Delaware County resident and graduate of Big Walnut High School, she had worked as a data entry specialist for PPG Industries, Worthington Foods and the State of Ohio. She also worked for the bakery department of Buehler's Food Market in Delaware.
Cain was a member of Hyatts United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, walking and collecting lighthouses and Indian items.
She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, James Cain; three daughters, Christine (Gary) Helmick of Pataskala, Debra (Harold) Kennedy of Lebanon, Virginia and Kathleen (Billy) Alexander of Kingman, Arizona; a son, Steven Lines of Philo, Ohio; a step-daughter, Candace (Tom) O'Keefe of Delaware; two stepsons, James Cain Jr. of Youngstown and Charles (Lynette) Cain of Texas; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Martin of Westerville and Paul Martin of Phoenix, Arizona; a half-brother, Roger Carson of Phoenix, Arizona; and a sister, Betty Krienke of Phoenix, Arizona.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware, where services were held at Hyatts United Methodist Church, Powell. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware,
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hyatts United Methodist Church.

Lela Cain
Lela May Cain, 92, formerly of Howard Road and 35 Lexington Boulevard, Delaware, died Friday morning (January 18, 2002) at Morning View Care Center, Sunbury.
She was born December 23, 1909 in Barnesville to Jacob and Rebecca (Carpenter) Bauman. A Delaware County resident since childhood, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Cain is survived by two sons, Raymond of Sunbury and Ward of Marengo, and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Raymond, died in 1965. A son Leo, died in 2000.
There were no visiting hours. A graveside service was held at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Reverend William Saunders of St. Mark's Lutheran Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Morning View Care Center, 14961 North Old 3C Highway, Sunbury, Ohio 43074.
Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware, was in charge of arrangements.

Katherine Ogden Carr
In memory of Katherine Ogden Carr (Mrs. Thomas), 83, who passed away in September in Springfield, Georgia, a memorial service was held at Harlem Road United Methodist Church.
Katherine was a longtime community member, belonging to the Harlem Garden Club, New Hope UMC and various other organizations. She taught school at both Sunbury and Souders elementary schools.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Carr; daughters and sons-in-law John and Sara Stalnaker and Dan and Becky Thomas, all of Springfield, Georgia; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Mary Jane Carr of Galena; grandchildren Michael Carr of the University of Michigan, Ryan Carr of Westerville, Geoffrey Carr of Ohio Northern University, Tracey and Kim Duncan of Delaware, U.S. Marine Tom Duncan of South Carolina, and Melissa Ware of Columbus; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her pastor at Springfield UMC said "we will remember Katherine as an artist. She was born an artist and possessed a gift, not only of the hands, but of the mind's eye, having the ability to see possibilities, to see what the rest of us don't see, to point it out and preserve it for us to enjoy. It is an image of God; God always sees possibilities and wants to bring something beautiful into being, sharing it with the rest of us, just as Katherine did.
"She worked in many mediums: painting, photography, flowers. But her best medium was flesh and blood, mind and spirit. As a mother and grandmother, teacher, wife, a Pink Lady at the hospital, she saw what could be and put strokes on lives that she touched, seeing the possibilities. She is remembered for her character, her joy, her perseverance, wisdom and laughter."

Benjamin N. Campbell
Benjamin N. Campbell, 77, Sunbury, died Monday morning (June 25, 2001) at Morning View Care Center.
He was born in Darling County, South Carolina on October 7, 1923 to the late Lonnie and Lillie (Register) Campbell. He had lived in the area for 30 years after coming to Sunbury from Ravenna.
A member of the U.S. Navy, Campbell was a World War II and Korean veteran. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the U.S. Government, Department of Defense. Campbell was a member of the VFW and a life member of the DAV.
Campbell is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores G. (LaRue) Campbell. They were married June 10, 1950 in Newport, Rhode Island. Also surviving are sons, Randy (Christie) of Reynoldsburg and Raymond of Sunbury; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Fannie Middleton of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur, and three sisters, Virginia, Louise and Mary.
Friends called at the residence. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date in South Carolina. Arrangements are in care of the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
Contributions can be made to Benjamin N. Campbell Memorial Fund in care of the Delaware County Bank, 492 West Cherry Street, Sunbury.

Lucille Campbell
Lucille H. Campbell (Boothe-Peregrine), 94, Westerville, died Friday (December 7, 2002) at Edgewood Manor.
A member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist, she was a retired teacher from Big Walnut High School and wrote the lyrics for the Big Walnut Alma Mater.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Boothe, Ross Peregrine and Leon Campbell.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Lois Boothe of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Ron Smith of Westerville; a stepdaughter and husband, Alys and Newton Spears of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held Sunday (December 9, 2001) at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, where a funeral service was held Monday (December 10, 2001) with Drs. Arthur Schultz and James N. Spears officiating.
A graveside service and interment were in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Messiah United Methodist, 51 North State Street, Westerville 43081 or Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Boulevard, Columbus 43229.

Charlotte L. Cantrell
Charlotte L. Cantrell, age 81, of Sunbury, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Aug. 5, 1998) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born May 11, 19117 in Crestline to the late Albert and Florence (Glenn) Newell. The homemaker spent most of her life in the Sunbury area, and a brief time in the Marion area. She was a member of the Sunbury Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Cantrell is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Dennis G. and Catherine Cantrell, Darwin W. and Sandra Cantrell, and Larry D. and MaryJean Cantrell, all of Sunbury, and David E. Cantrell of Marion; daughter and son-in-law Sharon A. and Barry White of Pataskala; 13 grandchildren, Terry, Tammy, Jeff, Janice, Daniel, Stephen, Brad, Brent, Brenda, Brian, Mark, Steven, and Vickie; six step-grandchildren, Jim, Dan, Doug, Shannonn, Brian, and Jennifer; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ersell "Red" Cantrell, on Sept. 10, 1987; her daughter Janice; and a grandson, Greg.
Funeral services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, the Rev. Daniel Burris officiating. Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
