Jesse Allen Meadors
Jesse Allen Meadors, age 18, passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident on Monday, November 25, 2002. He was a 2001 graduate of Coalfield High School and was attending Roane State Community College in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Walter F. Brown and paternal grandfather, Ralph Meadors.
Jesse Allen is survived by mother, Deborah A. Meadors; father, Randy Meadors; brother, Jamison Meadors of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; and sister Michelle Reese-Starcher of Westerville.
He is also survived by maternal grandmother Elizabeth Brown of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and paternal grandmother Marv Alderman of Watertown, New York; nephew, Isaac Starcher; niece, Elena Starcher; as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
A scholarship fund is in the process of being established in Jesse's memory.

Ralph A. Meadors
Ralph A. Meadors, 70, a resident of Lehigh Acres for the past 24 years, died of cancer Thursday (December 20, 2001).
He was born in Columbus and was a watchmaker and jeweler for 45 years, including 20 years as a jeweler in the Sunbury area.
Meadors was a member of American Legion Post #323, DAV Chapter 94, Local Watchmakers Guild, the National Watch and Clock Collectors Inc., Chapter #98 and the American Watchmakers Institute.
He was a member of McGregor Baptist Church.
Meadors is survived by his wife of 24 1/2 years, Idella; five children, Rick Meadors of Findlay, Robin Grossi of Laporte, Indiana, Randy Meadors of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Rodney Meadors of Watertown, South Dakota and Rustin Meadors of Nashville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and one sister, Emma Miller of Galena.
Funeral services were held at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Park.
There was an informal memorial service in honor of Mr. Meadors in Sunbury Memorial Park on the west side of Sunset Street between Second and Third.
Mr. Meadors began his jewelry and watch making career in Sunbury 45 years ago. He lived in LeHigh Acres, Florida, for the past 20 years, and was interred there after his death from cancer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice Care, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, Cape Coral, Fla. 33917.

Darrell Meadows
Darrell N. Meadows, 50, died suddenly Saturday (Feb. 12, 2000) at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Milton, W. Va., on May 15, 1949, to the late Howard and Mary Ruth (Starkey) Meadows.
He worked in maintenance and warehousing for Leibert Corp., attended First Baptist Church in New Albany, and enjoyed street rodding and fishing. He was a member of National Street Rod Association and Good Guys Car Clubs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Raelene (Gilmore) Meadows, whom he married on July 17, 1976, in Columbus; a son, Scotty, at home; and a sister, Joyce Meadows, Columbus.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held with Deacon Jerry Sickles officiating. Burial followed in Northlawn Memory Gardens, Westerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Don Meeker
Don Meeker, 50, of Vero Beach, Fla., died on Wednesday (Jan. 14, 1998) at his home.
He was a graduate of Big Walnut High School, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. A hairdresser, he owned Mane Attraction Hair Salon.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannie of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Danielle Meeker and Natalie and Graham McCleod; one grandson, Chase; his mother, Juanita Meeker of Sunbury; a brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Sandra Meeker of Port Charollete, Fla.; two sisters, Peggy (Richard) Ford and Elaine McKenzie and Larry Carpenter of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Meeker.
Cremation and the service were held at the home on Jan. 16.
Memorial contributions may be made to VNA, Hospice of Indian River County, 1111 36th Street, Vero Beach, Fla. 32960.

John K. Meeker
John K. Meeker, 92, Sunbury, died Thursday morning (January 18, 2001) at Morning View Care Center, Sunbury.
He was born on September 20, 1908 in Porter Township, Delaware County to the late Charles J. and LeVena (Lane) Meeker. He served in the National Guard and was a lifelong area resident. He retired in 1970 from Rockwell International where he was employed as an assembler. Meeker was a member of Porter Grange, K of P Lodge, Big Walnut Conservation Club, all of Sunbury, and the former Mount Pleasant Community Church.
Meeker is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia E. (Wheeler); a daughter, Janet (Tom) Vaughn of Ellenton, Florida; sons, Pastor Tom (Sandy) Meeker of Sunbury and Rick (Rae Jean) Forest of Delaware; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Juanita Meeker of Sunbury; and by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Anna Mae Reynolds and Eleanor Parsons and by brothers Carrol and Ralph Meeker.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held with Pastor Tom Meeker officiating. Interment followed in Trenton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Delaware County, 561 West Central Avenue, Delaware, Ohio 43015.

Juanita Meeker
Juanita I. Meeker, 82, Sunbury, died Friday evening (October 11, 2002) at Grady Hospital, Delaware.
She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on September 29, 1920, to the late Cecil and Sarah (Brown) Meadows. A member of First Baptist Church, she retired from Hills Department Store and enjoyed taking care of her great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Meeker, on September 6, 1984; a son, Donald, in January 1998; on great-granddaughter; a brother, Bud; and a sister, Dorothy Garrett.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Sandra Meeker of Port Charlotte, Florida; two daughters and a son-in-law, Peggy and Richard Ford of Sunbury and Elaine McKenzie of Blacklick; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lee Ford of Stauton, Virginia, and Virginia Thomas of Delaware.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services will be held.
Interment followed in Sunbury Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware County Hospice, 561 West Central Avenue, Delaware, Ohio 43015.

Ora E. Meeker
Ora E. Meeker, 87 of Middlefield, formerly of Marysville and Galena, died Sunday (March 7, 1999.)
Preceded in death by husband Herbert B. Meeker. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard F. and Mickey English, Girard m. and Florence Price, Cliffton and Daphine Price, and Gary and Barbara Price; daughters Georgia Price-Haught and Janice l. Price; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brother Frank; sisters Mary, Eva and Delsie; step-children June, Betty, Irene and Ron and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was at Hill Funeral home, where services were held. Interment at Cheshire Cemetery.

Brittney Renee Meeks
Brittney Renee Meeks, 4-month-old infant daughter of W. Mike Meeks and Lisa R. Cooper of Delaware, died unexpectedly Monday (July 20, 1998) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
She was born in Delaware on March 9, 1998.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a half sister, Tiffani Catalogna of Delaware; maternal grandparents Frank and May Cooper of Sunbury; paternal grandparents Bill and Dorothy Meeks of Delaware; and paternal great-grandparent Thelma Varner of West Virginia.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware. Graveside services were at Oak Grove Cemetery, the Rev. Delmar Jervis officiating.

Mildred E. Meredith
Mildred E. Meredith, 87, St. Petersburg, Fla., died Sunday (Feb. 21, 1999) at Shore Acres Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Racine, Ohio, she moved to St. Petersburg in 1953 from Sunbury. She was a retired salesperson for Sears and a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and OES Columbia Chapter 33, Sunbury.
She is survived by two sons, Robert A., Seminole, Fla., and Don E., Columbus, a daughter, Janice Meredith Willingham, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at Trenton Township Cemetery with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Visitation was held at that time.

Audley C. "A.C." Metzger II
Audley C. "A.C." Metzger II, 82, of Centerburg, died on Sunday (April 5, 1998) at Minerva Park Place, Columbus.
Born on Aug. 1, 1915, in Delaware County to the late Audley C. and Ethel (Criss) Metzger, he was a graduate of the Sunbury High School class of 1933. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in World War II, a lifelong farmer, Master and 61-year member of Porter Township Grange No. 2620, and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Millie Metzger of Zanesvillle; two sisters, Gladys Mitchell of Marengo and Annis Jean Wissinger of Buckeye Lake; and other family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Marie Carpenter Demaine.
Funeral services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home. Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.
