Donald L. Mitchell
Donald L. Mitchell, 66, Centerburg, died Monday (Oct. 25, 1999) at home.
He was the son of the late Curtis and Zella (Edwards) Mitchell. He was retired from Ellis Concrete, Johnstown.
Mr. Mitchell, a U.S. Navy and Korean War veteran, was a life member of VFW Post 8736, Sunbury, a life member of Centerburg AMVETS and a member of Sunbury Eagles No. 3614, Newark Eagles No. 387, American Legion Post 460, Centerburg, and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife, Joann; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Dave Erpenbach, Sunbury, and Kathy and Richard George, Grove City; two sons, Don Mitchell Jr. and Jim Mitchell, both of Plain City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Stella Walker, Dresden, and Jim and Weltha Mitchell, Delaware; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Mitchell.
Calling hours were held at Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, Centerburg. Funeral services will be held with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Burial was at Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Knox County, 302 E. High St., Mount Vernon 43050.

Herma Mitchell
Herma Marie Richardson Mitchell, 87, of Sunbury, died Wednesday (November 21, 2001) at Delaware Court Health Care Facility.
She was born on January 10, 1914, in Columbus to the late Charles and Mary (Jordan) Hinkle. An area resident since 1945, Herma worked in the filling line for Nestles and as a factory worker for North American Rockwell and Timken Co. She attended Rural Chapel United Methodist Church, liked to knit and crochet, and her family was very important to her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph W. Mitchell in 1975 and Jesse M. Richardson in 1951; two sons, Jesse Richardson Jr. in 1938 and Charley B. Richardson; three granddaughters, Tammy Richardson, Rachel Richardson and Melanie Compton; three brothers, Floyd, Charlie and Paul; and two sisters, Alice Jenkins and Elma Esty.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Orville M. and Joan Richardson of Greensborough, North Carolina, and Ron and Pam Richardson of Sunbury; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Alice and Maury Drum of New Hope, Pennsylvania, and Herma Compton-Hickman of Delaware; a daughter-in-law, Helen Richardson of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Esther Webb of Mechanicsburg and Ruth Sesler of Columbus.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with funeral services held at Rural Chapel UM Church, Galena, with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1373 Grandview Avenue, Suite 200, Columbus, Ohio 43213 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box Dept. 013, Columbus, Ohio 43218.

Ruth Mitchell
Ruth K. Mitchell, 68, Sunbury, died Thursday (April 19, 2001) at Morning View Care Center, Sunbury.
She was born in Franklin County on May 8, 1932 to the late Robert Carl and Lillian (Daniels) Thompson. She was a retired binder for Robbins Enterprises.
Mitchell is survived by her husband, George R. Mitchell whom she married August 6, 1974; two sons, Richard Brand of Columbus and Gary Brand of Delaware; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley (Jim) Little of Westerville and Sandra (John) Kendall of Glendale, Arizona; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; an aunt, Esther Daniels of Columbus; and a cousin, Nancy E. West of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by a step-son, Ernie Mitchell, and a brother.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services held. Interment was in Union Cemetery in Columbus.

Kathleen S. Mobley
Kathleen S. "Kathy" Mobley, 38, Delaware, died unexpectedly Monday (Aug. 2, 1999) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1961, in Germany to Chester E. "Chet" Mobley of Delaware and the late Christena "Tena" (Olinger) Mobley, who died April 9, 1999.
Kathy moved to Delaware in 1970 from Coshocton. She was a 1979 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School Class. She worked 19 years as a claim adjuster for Anthem Insurance Co. in Columbus. Kathy collected baskets, was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her fiance, Lewis O. Burdette; a brother and sister-in-law, Chester E., II and Beth Mobley, Delaware; a half brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Chris Miller, Radnor; and several nephews and nieces.
Calling hours and funeral were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Kenneth C. Molihan
Kenneth C. Molihan, 70, Columbus, died Monday evening (March 12, 2001) surrounded by his loving family at Canterbury Villa, Centerburg.
He was born on May 2, 1930 in Vinton County to the late Clifford K. and Sylvia B. Bowen Molihan.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict serving on the USS Coral Sea, he was a life member of AM Vets Post #53.
Ken had worked in several factories in addition to being a coal miner and butcher. He was a simple man who loved animals and enjoyed coon hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella; three daughters, Pam (David) Hulse of Westerville, Christy (Paul) Bookhout and Virginia Molihan of Columbus; two sons, Ralph Molihan of Columbus and Kenny (Debbie) Molihan of Florida; a step-son, Carl Saultz of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack of Florida; and two sisters, Elsie Walsh of New York and Dorothy Martin of Athens.
Molihan was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny, and a sister, Betty Wooten.
Visitation and service was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Pastor Philip Hazelton officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of donor's choice.

Ethel Pearl Monk
Ethel Pearl Monk, 91, formerly of Delaware, died Monday morning (January 8) at Winebrenner Village in Findlay, Ohio.
She was born on April 15, 1909 in Delaware to the late John V. and Maude M. (Skinner) Glaze. A lifelong Delaware County resident, she had lived only the past year near her sister in Findlay.
Monk was a retired supervisor with Felber Bisquit Co. of Columbus. She also assisted her husband with the operation of the former Monk's Mobile Gas Station in Cheshire.
She is survived by sisters Ruth and Rollie Hahn of Findlay, Betty and Jay McDaniel of Wichita, Kan.; and by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Monk was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Ralph Emerson Monk who died May 14, 1994; brothers Ernest, Leonard, Russell, Jake, Richard and Emmette Glaze; and by sisters Flo Tagg, Viola Glaze and Carolyn Truck.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 West William Street, Delaware, where funeral services were held. Interment followed in Cheshire Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Delaware County or to Grady Memorial Hospital, 561 West Central Avenue, Delaware, Ohio 43015.

Vernenia Monroe
Vernenia A. (Starkey) Monroe, 77, Johnstown, died at Riverside Hospital Thursday (Dec. 3, 1998).
She was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Lesage, W.Va., to the late Irvin and Margaret (Henderson) Faulkner. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by husbands William Starkey Sr. in October 1980 and John C. Monroe, May 1997; one brother; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and John Hunter, Enon, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Barbara Starkey and Bernard and Kay Starkey, all of Johnstown, and Charles and Sharon Starkey, Galena; two sisters, Ina Mae Carson, Proctorville, Ohio, and Garnett Burdett, Winkman, Ariz.; one brother Manford Faulkner, Glenwood, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at Crouse-Kauber Funeral Home, Johnstown. Services were held at New Hope United Methodist Church, Harlem Road. Memorials contributions may be made to the Johnstown Volunteer Fire Department.

Lola Monteith
Lola D. Monteith, 72, Galena, died Friday (April 16, 1999) at Hospice at Riverside.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughter and son-in-law Anne and Robert Zeigler; grandchildren Kayla and Ian; brothers Allan, Bill and Jack Finlayson, all Ontario, Canada; and many dear family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Riverside/Grant, 3535 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, 43214.
The family will receive friends on May 1 after 2 p.m. at the home of Anne and Robert, 14067 Duncan Road, Galena.
Arrangements are by Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society.

Curtis Montgomery
Curtis E. Montgomery, 69, Delaware and formerly of Sunbury, died Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) at his residence.
He was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Harlem Township, to Beaula (Mauger) Montgomery and Floyd Montgomery.
He retired from Delaware Ranco as facility manager in 1990, with 40 years of service. He was a 13-year-resident of Delaware, a member of Delaware Elks BPOE No. 76, Delaware Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 376 and the Harlem Breakfast Club. He was Harlem Township clerk for four years, Harlem Township trustee for eight years and was Harlem Township zoning inspector. Mr. Montgomery worked with Harlem Township 4-H youth and raised Hereford cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Collins Montgomery; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Jim Blair, Rio Grande; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Lora Montgomery, Delaware, and Doug and Lora Montgomery, Galloway; a stepdaughter, Colleen Nichel, Pine, Ariz.; a stepson and his wife, Brad and Janet Collins, Tucson, Ariz.; his first wife, Shirley Hackworth Simpson, Baxter, Ky.; six grandchildren; and a stepgrandson
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth.
Calling hours were held at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware. Elks Lodge services were held. Funeral services were held. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Grady, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware 43015.

John D. Moore
John D. Moore, 66, Delaware, died Saturday (April 14, 2001). A salesman and owner of Ohio Shelter All, he attended The Ohio State University. He was a member of Delaware St. Mary Catholic Church.
Moore is survived by his wife of 45 years, Phyllis; his mother, LaDonna Osowski of Toledo; three sons, Steve (Colleen) of Galena, Tom (Carla) of Galena and Dave of Delaware; two daughters, Marla (Bernie) Howard of Sunbury and Ellen Moore of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Caleb, Curtis, John and Annie Moore and Daniel and Conner Howard; and by three sisters, Joanne Moore, Kate Linderman and Martha Schmude, all of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his father, George; his stepfather, Steve Osowski; a brother, Riley; and a grandson, Jason Howard.
A Prayer Vigil Service and visitation was at Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary Catholic Church.
