Betty J. Refinati
Betty J. Refinati, 74, of Sunbury, died Saturday (Feb. 7, 1998) at the Arbors at Delaware.
She was born Oct. 13, 19233, in Trenton Township to the late Harold and Esther (Edwards) Frease. She was a life-long Delaware County resident, and was a clerk at the former Albers Super Store in Columbus for 26 years.
Mrs. Refinati was current president of Youngbudd American Legion Post No. 171 Ladies Auxiliary; Past Chapeau of the 12th District No. 333 8/40, Columbus; and past secretary and treasurer of the American Spotted Horse Association.
She is survived by Henry Refinati, her husband of 29 years; sons and daughters-in-law James E. and Jeanie Evans of Conway, S.C., Harold and Jean Evans of Galena, and Carl and Jonda Evans of Sunbury; her stepchildren and spouse, Henry W. Refinati of Riverside, Calif., Helen L. and Rick Miller of Jacksonville, N.C., and Ethel M. Refanati of Long Beach, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Edward.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where Legion services also were held with the Rev. Wayne Booth officiating. Interment was in Trenton Cemetery.
Henry Refinati
Henry E. Refinati, 73, Sunbury, died Wednesday (May 19, 1999) in Jacksonville, N.C.
He was born July 2, 1925, in Corning.
He was a Marine Corp. veteran of the 4th Division, serving from 1943-1945. He was a retired welder. He was past commander of American Legion Post No. 171, Westerville. He held several offices with the 40/8 Voiture 15, including Chef de Gare, Sixth District Grand Cheminot and Cheminot National alternate. He was a charter member of National Boxcar Hobos.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, on Feb. 7, 1998.
He is survived by a son, H. Wayne Refinati, California; two daughters and one son-in-law, Helen Louise and Ricky Miller, Jacksonville, N.C., and Ethel Kemp, California; three step-sons and three daughters-in-law, Jim and Jeanie Evans and Carl and Jonda Evans, all South Carolina. and Harold and Jean Evans, Westerville; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, James and Harriett Refinati, Thornville, and Donnie and Ann Refinati, Marengo; a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and William Thompson, Clanton, Ala.; and 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; .
Visiting hours and funeral services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with 40/8 American Legion services. Interment followed at Trenton Cemetery.
Russell J. Rehark
Russell J. Rehark, 87, of Delaware, died at his home early Friday morning (March 27, 1998).
He was born in Cleveland on Feb. 24, 1911, to the late John and Clementine (Burian) Rehark.
Mr. Rehark had worked for the Union Trust Co. of Cleveland, and as an accountant for Ernst & Ernst. He had served for 50 years as internal auditor and treasurer for Greif Bros. Corp., Delaware. He moved to Delaware in 1951 from Cleveland. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Delaware, and a Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus, Delaware No. 0844.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elinore K. (Kolos) Rehark; daughters and sons-in-law Marianne and Kenneth Johnson of Delaware, Elaine Rehark and Jeanne and Scott Fankhauser, all of Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard R. and RaeAnn Rehark of Fairfield, and John C. and Lisa Rehark of Sunbury; grandchildren and their spouses Janice, Catherine, Samantha, Hannah, and Addison Rehark, and Malia and Doug Homer, and Christopher and Staci Johnson; and a great-grandson, Alexander.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman G. Rehark.
Prayer services were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware. The Mass of Christian burial was at St. Mary, the Rev. Kevin J. Kavanaugh officiating. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery.

Ruth A. Rempfer
Ruth A. Rempfer, 77, of Sunbury, died Sunday, February 3, 2003, at home.
She was born on August 6, 1925, in Cincinnati to the late Florence and Effe (Thurner) Frolicher. A graduate of the Notre Dame Academy Class of 1943, she retired from Battelle Memorial Institute and had been a Sunbury resident for 30 years. A member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, she enjoyed ceramics, collected carousels and the slot machines in Las Vegas.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Cletus A. "Remmy" Rempfer, who died on April 5, 1992; and a sister, Betsy Martin.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan M. and Barry Roberts of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Andrea L. "Andie" and James Zucchero of Sunbury; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday (January 3, 2003) at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held Tuesday (January 4, 2003).

Mary Margaret Reppart
Mary Margaret Reppart, 78, Sunbury, died Thursday, December 12, 2002, at Northview Living Center in Johnstown.
She was born on October 14, 1924, in New Athens to the late Wilbur P. and Margaret (Clark) Morgan. The homemaker moved to Sunbury in 1944 from Cadiz. She was a member of Condit Presbyterian Church, Condit Friendly Club and O.E.S. Columbia Chapter #33, Sunbury.
Mary is survived by a son, Harold (Kathy) Reppart of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Brian (Leigh Ann), Heather, Kelly Samuel Reppart and Kari (Mike) McCoy; and by a great-granddaughter, Morgan Samantha McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Samuel Reppart, on December 13, 2000. They were married October 18, 1945, in St. Clairsville. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Reppart, on August 10, 1997, and by two brothers, Edward and Clark Morgan.
Visiting hours at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held with the Reverend Carol Weiss officiating.
Interment followed in Trenton Cemetery.

Samuel Reppart
Samuel M. Reppart, 78, of Sunbury, died Wednesday morning (Dec. 13, 2000) at Northview Senior Living Center, Johnstown.
Born on Feb. 22, 1922, in Cadiz to the late Frank T. and Carrie E. (Dunlap) Reppart, he was a lifelong area farmer and a Sunbury resident since 1944. A member, former elder and trustee of Condit Presbyterian Church, he was a member of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, the Delaware County Farm Bureau, the Central Ohio Dairy Board and was a former Big Walnut School Board member of 18 years.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Reppart, in 1997 and a brother, F. Wayne Reppart, in 1996.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Mary Margaret (Morgan) Reppart who he married on Oct. 18, 1945 in St. Clairsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Kathy Reppart of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Brian (Leighann), Heather, Kari and Kelly Samuel Reppart.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral services were held immediately following with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Interment was in Trenton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Condit Presbyterian Church.
Robert Rhodebeck
Robert J. Rhodebeck, 85, of 7695 Morrow C.R. 97, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 1998) at Morrow County Hospital. He had been a patient at MCH Extended Care for two years.
He was born June 16, 1912, to Charles and Artha (Graham) Rhodebeck at North Woobury, and lived most of his life in the Woodbury-Johnsville area.
On June 15, 1946, he was married to Doris Henthorn, who survives. He was a 1931 graduate of Johnsville High School, and was a retired farmer and livestock trucker.
Mr. Rhodebeck served from 1948 to 1965 as Perry Township Clerk, served 15 years on the Morrow County Board of Education, beginning in 1950, and served three terms as a Morrow County commissioner, from 1965 to 1976.
He entertained audiences for many years, playing banjo and fiddle for local square dances and variety shows in many musical groups, including the Melody Five.
Mr. Rhodebeck was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, North Woodbury. He was a member of the I.O.O.F, and past Noble Grand of the Johnsville Lodge; the Chester Lodge, F. & A. M.; Columbus Valley Scottish Rite; Aladdin Shrine; Royal Jesters; and Picador banjo unit.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Gennie, of Westerville, Daniel and Janet of Johnsville, and James and Pamela of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Jeffrey, Levi, Kent, Michael, Matthew, and Zachary Rhodebeck; and his brother, Gerard Rhodebeck of Mount Gilead.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lorene Rhodebeck; and an infant grandaughter, Erin Rhodebeck.
Calling hours and Masonic services were at Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead, where funeral services were held, the Rev. William Kerrick officiating, with burial in Shauck Cemetery, Johnsville.

Mark Rice
Mark A. Rice, 17, Sunbury, died Monday (March 25, 2002) at his home.
He was born January 18, 1985, in Columbus, the son of David Rice and Sheri (Blanton) Rice. He was a junior at Big Walnut High School where he was involved in the Future Business Professionals of America and enjoyed working with computers.
Mark loved to play sports, including snowboarding, baseball, basketball and paintball. He enjoyed working on his '65 Mustang, listening to music and playing hackey-sac with his friends.
He is survived by his parents, both of Sunbury, a sister, Holly Rice of Columbus; his grandparents, Carmen and Betty Blanton of Sunbury and James (Barbara) Rice of Westerville, and by four aunts, Theresa, Phyllis, Marsha and Katrinia.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marilyn Rice, and his uncle, Joe Blanton.
Friends may call at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 and Ohio 61, Sunbury where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Carol Weiss officiating. Interment followed at Sunbury Memorial Park.

Carter Richardson
Carter "Wayne" Richardson, 47, of Marengo died Monday afternoon (Feb. 1, 1999) at University Hospital, Columbus, following a six-year illness.
Born on June 1, 1951, in Richlands, Va., to the late Leck G. and Beulah I. (Hess) Richardson, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He moved to Marengo from Croton in 1977 and worked as a sheet metal fabricator for Stover Industries and was employed for 18 years by Bry Air of Sunbury. He was a former member of the Marengo Volunteer Fire Department, and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Avinelle Floyd in 1980.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon D. (Bright); two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald W. and Lynn Richardson of Mt. Gilead and Gene and Cathy Ray of Marengo; one daughter, Jackie R. Ray of Mt. Gilead; two grandchildren, Angel and Cody; two step-grandchildren, Tabby and Nikki; three brothers, Denford R. Richardson and Graham E. Richardson, both of Mt. Vernon, and Raymond H. "Spanky" Richardson of Vanceburg, Ky.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Verle E. and Vince Lewis of Vanceburg, Ky.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were be held with the Revs. Burt Runyon and Kevin Pruett officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Marengo Cemetery.

John Rich
John A. Rich, 86, Sunbury, died on Saturday (September 7, 2002) at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
A retired farmer and custodian for Westerville City Schools, he was a veteran of the 1st Special Service Force in World War II and a member of DVA.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Rich, in 1979; a son, John A. Rich Jr.; and a brother, William Rich.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie E. Rich; two daughters, Erma Llewellyn of Mount Vernon and Alice F. Resta of Sunbury; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Thomas of Florida and Ruth Hubbel of Marengo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, Centerburg, where services were held with minister David Myers officiating.
Interment was in Eastview Cemetery.
