Peggy Ann Bishop
Peggy Ann Bishop, 72, Galena, died Tuesday (May 29, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; a son, Robert and his wife, Sandra; three grandchildren, Vanessa Lane and her fiance, Charles Socks, Tricia Youngblood and her husband, Christian, and Michael Bishop; three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica and Charley; a nephew, Donald Meenan; a cousin, Alyce Thompson and her husband, Robert.
Visitation was at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. Graveside service and burial was at Union Cemetery, Columbus with Chaplain David Loynachan officiating.

Florence E. Blaker
Florence E. Blaker, 80, Galena, died Thursday morning (July 5, 2001) at her home. She was born on March 26, 1921 in Barnesville to the late Homer and Mable O'Neil Bowers. She moved to the Sunbury/Galena area 22 years ago from Columbus.
She worked in the home healthcare field as a private duty nurse and beautician. She attended Grace Brethern Church in Delaware.
Florence was an active golfer with the Westerville Ladies League. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and, most especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Clyde) Marcum of Galena; a son, Frank (Dosha) Blaker of Columbus; five grandchildren, Lisa, Justin, Kimberly, Cassandra and Shawn; four great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Grace, Taylor and Crystal; and by a sister, Jean Connor of Senecaville.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William, in 1987; a brother, James Bowers; and by two sisters, Clara DeLong and Mary Bowers.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Burial will follow at a later date.

Charles Blackledge
Charles R. Blackledge, 57, Marengo, died Tuesday (April 13, 1999) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 27, 1941, in Delaware County to the late Hubert and Evangeline (Hinderlong) Blackledge.
He was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he worked in highway maintenance. He also worked for Delaware Cab Co.
He is survived by two daughters, Amy Blackledge and Janice Winterbower, Cardington; one grandson, Bradley Blackledge; two sisters, Clara Hatten, Marengo, and Mildred Kinnison, Cardington.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Blackledge.
Visitation was and funeral services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo. Burial followed in Alum Creek Friends Church cemetery.
Elizabeth M. Blakely
Elizabeth M. Blakely, 88, U.S. 42, Mount Gilead, died early Monday morning (April 23, 2001) at Mansfield Medical Center, Mansfield. She was born in Condit to the late Jesse T. and Essa May (Jacobus) Geddis on November 19, 1912.
Elizabeth was a resident of Morrow County for 59 years. She graduated from Sunbury High School in 1931. She worked at North Electric Mfg. in Galion for 28 years and for Thermo Disc in Mansfield for 12 years.
Her first marriage was to Waldo T. McNamee. She later married Vinal F. Blakely. Both of her husbands preceded her in death.
Elizabeth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Marilyn McNamee of Mount Gilead; a grandson and his wife, Donald and Connie McNamee of Mount Gilead and by two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Kara McNamee.
In addition, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Rolland and Betty Geddis of Sunbury; a sister and brother-in-law, John and Martha McNamee of Richwood; and a sister-in-law, Norma Geddis of Mount Gilead.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle and John Geddis, and a step-granddaughter, Shellette Smith.
Visitation was at Gompf Funeral Home, Cardington where services were held. Interment in Trenton Cemetery, Condit.
Raymond Bland Sr.
Raymond J. Bland Sr., 78, Marengo, died suddenly Monday (Jan. 10, 2000) at Morrow County Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1921, in Columbus to the late Ernest and Hazel (King) Bland.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a retired claims adjuster for Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, and formerly employed by Paul Davies Chevrolet Body Shop, Columbus.
He was a member of Goodale Lodge No. 372 F&AM, American Legion Post No. 710, Marengo, Marengo United Methodist Church, Good Sam's Club, Nationwide Retirees Breakfast Club, and he loved to travel and enjoy his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ernestine (Fisher); a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Virginia Bland Jr., Columbus; a daughter, Saundra Lee Noble, Upper Sandusky; four brothers, Richard and Randal Bland of Texas, Royce Bland, Portage, Ronald Bland, New Albany; a sister Marjorie Jones, Columbus; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bland; and a grandson Bart Bland.
Friends called and Masonic services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury. Funeral services were held at Marengo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Olinger officiating. Interment, with full military honors provided by American Legion Post No. 710, was at Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marengo United Methodist Church building Fund.
Anna L. Blizzard
Anna L. Blizzard, 92, Sunbury, died Monday (Dec. 20, 1999) at Morning View Care Center in Condit.
She was born in Columbus on May 27, 1907, to the late George and Maggie May (Palmer) Neville.
She was a homemaker and had lived in the Sunbury area for 28 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret DeVault, Pataskala, and Jean Scott, Sunbury; one son, Charles Blizzard, Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Nelville.
Calling hours were at Devore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Harold Holmes officiating.
Graveside committal services were held at Union Evangelical Cemetery near Baltimore.
John L. Boggs
John L. Boggs, 63, of Delaware, died Sunday (Jan. 25, 1998) at his residence.
Born in Blaine, Ky., on Dec. 19, 1934 to the late Charles and Mary (Gambill) Boggs, he was a retired dock worker and former member of Westerville Freewill Baptist Church. He had lived in Delaware for eight years, and was a resident in the Sunbury area prior to that.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Jill Boggs of Worthington; his daughter and her husband, Sheila and Henry Rutter of Sunbury, and a daughter and her fiance, Diana Curtis and Bill Flowers of North Canton; a special friend, Dorothy Knotts of Delaware; one brother, Fred Boggs of Croton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation was at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury, where services were held and were officiated by the Rev. Elmer Huffing. Interment was in Trenton Cemetery.

Bessie M. Bolton
Bessie M. Bolton, 60, of Cardington, died at home on Thursday (June 25, 1998) evening following a 14-month illness.
She was born in Point Pleasant on June 23, 1938, to Thomas and Ellie E. (Lemaster) Lyons. She moved to the Cardington-Marengo area from the Delaware-Plain City area 42 years ago. She retired in 1996 as the dietary manager for Arbors of Delaware. She was a member of Harvest Time Free Will Baptist Church of Sunbury, and enjoyed collecting owls of all types, camping, and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, William R. Bolton, whom she married on May 25, 1991; her father; two sons and daughters-in-law, James D. and Donna Roush and Anthony B. and Angie Roush, all of Marengo; two daughters, Vickie D. Jackson of Columbus and Marilyn D. Richardson and her husband, James Smith, of Delaware; a son-in-law, Tommy Hutchins of Marengo; 10 grandchildren, Travis and Marcelene Hutchins of Marengo, Terry and Carey Richardson of Marion, Chad and Tera Evans of Cardington, and Amber, Brian, Rebbeca, and Seth Roush, all of Marengo; four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Mann, Alexis Richardson, and Brandon and Rachelle Evans; a brother, William Lyons of Warren, Okla.; and a sister, Nancy Keith, also of Warren, Okla.
Preceding her in death were her mother; a daughter, Carolyn J. Hutchins; and a sister, Wilmina Lyons.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury. Funeral services were held at the Harvest Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roger D. Dempsey officiating. Interment was in Marengo Cemetery.

William R. Bolton Sr.
William R. Bolton Sr., 78, Marengo, died Friday (January 28, 2000) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
He was born in Delaware County on Nov. 10, 1921, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Bailey) Bolton.
Mr. Bolton was a retired truck driver, having worked for Fishburn Services and Cellar Lumber. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He attended Cardington Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, William Jr. and Beverly and Joe and Kathy, all Fredericktown, and John, Mount Vernon; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Mary and Ken Ricketts, Mount Vernon, Ind., Joyce and Lewis Swint and Betty and Robert Walls, all Independence , Va., Shirley and David Haller, Evansville, Ind, and Barbara Grubaugh, Fredericktown; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Mamie Bolton, Fredericktown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Regina and Don Pierce, Westerville, and Gladys and Oren Kuhn, Cardington; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; and half-sisters Betty Stanford, Lancaster, and Laverna Clark, Sunbury.
He was proceeded in death by his wives Frances Bolton on June 15, 1990, and Bessie Bolton on June 25, 1998; and two half-sisters.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Mike Cheek officiating. Burial followed in Marengo Cemetery.
Lt. Col. Richard Bomhard
Lt. Col. Richard O. Bomhard, retired U.S. Air Force, 79, of Springfield, died early Thursday morning (May 18, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born in Springfield on Nov. 4, 1920, to the late Albert and Frances (McCoy) Bomhard. He received a bachelor of science degree from Miami University, a master's degree in school administration from Xavier University, and also attended the Universities of Chicago and New York.
During his military career, he traveled the world and spent 20 years in Upper Arlington before returning to the Springfield area. In addition to his 23-year career in the U.S. Air Force, he taught science at the Hamilton Township Junior High School and taught mathematics and real estate at Columbus State Community College. He was a member of the Scioto Model A Club, the Retired Officers Club, and the Jubilee Christian Center, where he also tutored math.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ellen Smith.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Lucille (Ervin) Bomhard; two daughters and a son-in-law, the Revs. Kim and Rick Robinson of Sunbury and Diane Lee Norris Cavriani of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Eric and Joannie Bomhard of Raleigh, N.C.: and four grandchildren, Geno Cavriani, Denise Norris, R. Anthony "Tony" Robinson and Candice Taylor Robinson.
Visitation was held prior to funeral services at Jubilee Christian Church, Sunbury, with the Revs. Kim and Rick Robinson officiating. Interment with military honors followed in Sunbury Memorial Park. Arrangements were in care of DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
