Ann E. Brown
Ann E. Brown, 68, Sunbury, died Friday evening (June 29, 2001) at her residence.
She was born in Delaware on December 9, 1932 to the late Walter O. and Norma D. (Whipple) Lenhart. She retired after 25 years in 1994 as a librarian from the Sunbury Community Library .
Brown was a member of the Sunbury United Methodist Church, G.G. Club, Progress Club, Volunteer for Big Walnut Friends who Share and a former member of Columbia Chapter #33 OES. She enjoyed traveling, family, reading and collecting Olde World Santa Clauses.
She is survived be her husband of 46 years, Raymond G. Brown, whom she married November 21, 1954; sons and daughters-in-law Jeff and Elizabeth of Westerville, Tom and Jenny of Worthington and Mark and Judy of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Kelli, Brian, Aaron, Nick, Julia and Rachael; one brother, Tom Lenhart of Lynhurst, Illinois; one sister, Sue Beardsley of Sunbury; two stepbrothers, Bob Cantrell of California and Jim Cantrell of Sunbury; and by a stepsister, Lois Ann Whisman of Dublin
Brown was preceded in death by her stepmother, Margaret Cantrell Lenhart, and by a granddaughter, Edith.
Memorial services will be held at the Sunbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Private interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.

James Brown
James E. "Red" Brown, 43, of Columbus, died on Monday (June 4, 2001). He was employed by Excavating Unlimited.
Surviving are his mother, Annabelle Gibbons of Columbus; father, Buck Brown of Logan; stepmother, Patricia Brown of Gahanna; two sisters, Jill Schiller of Alexandria and Jacki Parks of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Jay Parks of Sunbury, Patrick Brown of Delaware, and Cory Brown of Logan; and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Parks.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, where funeral services were held with the Rev. Tim Crisafulli officiating. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Park.

Raymond Brown
Raymond G. "Ray" Brown, 71, Sunbury, died unexpectedly Thursday (March 21, 2002) at Berger Hospital, Circleville.
He was born in Columbus on November 15, 1930, to the late Cletus Glenn and Doris (Hawkins) Brown, and was a member of Sunbury United Methodist Church and Sunbury Golf League, a former member of Big Walnut Conservation Club, and past president and a former member of the Sunbury Lions Club.
Brown coached Big Walnut Little League baseball and enjoyed golf, hunting and Otterbein College basketball.
He retired as warehouseman for Big Bear Foods with 38 years of service in 1992, and was a member of AFLCIO.
Along with his parents, Brown was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Ann E. (Lenhart) Brown, who died on June 29, 2001; and a granddaughter, Edith.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Elizabeth Brown of Westerville, Tom and Jenny Brown of Worthington, and Mark and Judy Brown of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Kelli, Brian, Aaron, Nick, Julia, and Rachel; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Mary Ann Brown of Johnstown; and a sister, Glenna Pealer of Mount Vernon.
A memorial service was held at Sunbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Private interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.
Arrangements were in the care of DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.

Thelma Bryan
Thelma S. Bryan, 87, Westerville, died on Friday (December 28, 2001).
She was retired from Owens-Illinois, and a member of New Albany First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald F. Bryan; a son, W. Ed Bryan; and a brother, Ernest Robert Strasbough.
Surviving are her daughter, Marti Hamton of Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Connie Bryan of Sunbury and Jim G. and Janet Bryan of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Patty Bryan of Westerville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. Services were held at New Albany First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Larry McNutt officiating. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Park.

Ronald J. Bryant
Ronald J. Bryant, 61, Sunbury, died unexpectedly Monday (Aug. 2, 1999) at his residence.
He was born in Berkshire on April 5, 1938, to the late Willie J. and Mary Elizabeth (Webb) Bryant.
He had resided in the Sunbury area his whole life. He was a 1957 graduate of Big Walnut High School. He was a retired machinist for Valves and Presses in Delaware. He was a member of the Central Ohio Radio Kontrol Society, Capital City Controlliners and a former Little League Baseball coach for 12 years.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Sharon (Hensley) Bryant, whom he married April 18, 1963, in Mount Olivet, Ky.; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith A. and Kelly Bryant, Lancaster; one brother Donald Bryant, Sunbury; two grandchildren; two nephews; and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin S. on June 14, 1983, and Kenneth J. on Sept. 18, 1972; and a sister-in-law, Kay Bryant.
Funeral was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury with the Rev. Frank Carl officiating. Burial followed at Sunbury Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 100 Cottswold Drive, Delaware 43015.

Freda M. Buell
Freda M. Buell, 91, of Sunbury died early Monday morning (July 3, 2000) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born August 1, 1908, in Trenton Township of Delaware County to the late Edgar M. and Samantha (Hoover) Linnabary. A 1927 graduate of Sunbury H.S., she was a lifelong Sunbury/Westerville area resident. Mrs. Buell was a homemaker and a 69-yyear member of the Sunbury First Baptist Church. She also was a 69-year member of the Progress Club and the Big Walnut Historical Society.
She is survived by sons Richard (Tressa) Buell of Sunbury and James (Judy) Buell of Johnstown; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; nieces and nephews; a special great-niece, Marsha Garee; and sister-in-law, Mildred Buell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenard M. Buell Sept. 19, 1982, to whom she married August 25, 1927, as well as several other family members.
OES and funeral services were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. The Rev. Larry Griffin officiated. Internment followed in Trenton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 394, Sunbury, OH., 43074.

Erwin Bunker
Erwin W. Bunker, 79, of Sunbury, died Saturday (June 10, 2000) afternoon at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
Born in Peru Township, Morrow County, on Jan. 14, 1921, to the late Lee Ona and Cora Ruth (Luck) Bunker, he was a former salesman for Barney and White Auto Parts, Columbus. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, Columbia Chapter No. 33 OES, American Legion No. 457 Sunbury, and a life member of the DAV.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheri Bunker Harris on June 6, 1972.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Rebecca (Clapsaddle) Bunker, whom he married on June 27, 1942, in Akron; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline A. and James Carpenter of Sunbury; a foster daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Baum of Westerville; a brother, Lloyd Bunker of Marengo; a sister, Alice Evelyn Incze of North Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, Paul, Aaron, and Heather; a foster grandson, Matthew Baum; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six step-great-granchildren.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held with the Rev. Stacy Evans officiating. Interment followed in the Stantontown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 5520 Harlem Road, Galena 43021.

Therese Burbank
Therese "T." Burbank, 50, of Sunbury, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning (April 11, 2001) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 1, 1950 to Russell E. and Lois (Langley) Miller, who survive in Lansing.
A consultant for William M. Mercer, Columbus, Burbank was a member of First Baptist Church, Sunbury; a member and past president of the American Business Women's Association; member and past president of Certified Employees Benefits Specialist Columbus Chapter; board member of Heritage House, Columbus; and a member of the American Diabetes Association.
Therese loved to collect antiques, and loved her church and her friends and was a truly remarkable woman.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Burbank, whom she married in Columbus on December 16, 1983; a daughter, Stephanie Bowen of Sunbury; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, John of Key West, Florida, Danny and Sara of Port Huron, Michigan, Kevin and Sue of Lansing, and Russell P. and Jolie of Brighton, Michigan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sarah Miller of Lansing, Clare and Jon Jorgensen of DeWitt, Michigan, Margaret and Robert Fenby of Eagle, Michigan, and Amy Miller of Plymouth, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, and at First Baptist Church, Sunbury, where services were held with the Rev. Larry Griffith officiating. Interment followed in Sunbury Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 394, Sunbury 43074; the American Diabetes Association, 937 High St., Worthington 43085; or the American Business Women's Association.

Minnie Burdette
Minnie M. Burdette, 91, of Gahanna and formerly of Galena, died Sunday morning (Nov. 12, 2000) at Broadview Nursing Center.
She was born to the late Charles L. and Laura (Williams) Harlor on Jan. 3, 1909, in Scioto Township, Pickaway County.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis O. Burdette, on April 1, 1983; threes sons, Roy, Harold, and Charles; a daughter, Barbara Adams; two brothers, Sheldon and Homer; and a sister, Martha Hysell.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Mildred Burdette of Gahanna, Wade Burdette of Lockbourne, William and Janet Burdette of Thornville, and Donald and Garnet Burdette of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held with the Rev. Corey Bane officiating. Interment followed in Sunbury Memorial Park.

Dorothy Burrer
Dorothy D. "Dilly" Burrer, 94, Sunbury, died Thursday morning (December 6, 2001).
She was born on January 6, 1907, in Hartwick Seminary, New York, to the late Andrew Luther and Stella Pearl Whitbeck Dillenbeck. She received a bachelor's degree from Elmyra College, Elmyra, N.Y., and a master's degree in librarian science from Columbia University, New York, Dorothy moved to the Sunbury area from Columbus 55 years ago.
She worked as a library assistant for 11 years at Capital University and helped start the Community Library in Sunbury, serving for 23 years as its first librarian. She and her husband enjoyed researching the history of Sunbury, genealogy and traveling through Europe. She attended First Baptist Church, Sunbury, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her son, John D. Burrer of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Roger A., Sherry A., and Carol M. Burrer; and great-grandchildren Jay and John Burrer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton S. Burrer, who passed away in 1989; and a brother, Marsden V. Dillenbeck, who died in 1991.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services followed with the Reverend Larry Griffin officiating. Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Library, 44 Burrer Drive, Sunbury 43074.
