Dorla J. Karcher
Dorla J. Karcher. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Turner officiating. Burial will be in Warstler Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Thursday evening 7-9 p.m.

Edna Fay (Ady) Ault
Edna Fay (Ady) Ault. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Burial will be in East Unionlawn Cemetery, Navarre. Calling hours in the funeral home Wednesday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.

Edward Kolesar, Sr.
Edward S. Kolesar, Sr., age 76, of Canton, OH., passed away Monday, December 31, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness. Born October 26, 1925, in Pana, IL., he was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Mary Kolesar' brothers, John, Leo, Ben, Francis, Louis, Andrew and Anthony; and sisters, Mary and Katherine. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 56 years, Margaret (Skolosh) Kolesar; daughter, Margaret (Henry) Woodring; sons, Edward Jr. (Elinor) of Texas, and Raymond (Shellie) of North Canton; grandchildren, Bruce, Brian, Lauren, Aaron, Beth and Gregory; and one sister, Vironica Schafer of Pana, IL.; and many nieces and nephews. He was retired from Canton Tool and Die Co., and H W Machine. He was a World War II Naval Veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans St. Mihiel Chapter #6; he also belonged to the First Catholic Slovak Lodge and was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was an usher. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2002, in St. Joseph's Church with his nephew, Msgr. John Kolesar as Celebrant and Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna as Concelebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Don Williams Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans Association or the American Heart Association.

Johanna J. Roman
Johanna J. Roman. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Monsignor John Finnigan as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Wake Service at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening in the fuenral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter's Building Fund.

Johanna J. Roman
Johanna J. Roman, age 82, beloved mother went home to be with the lord and her devoted husband, Sunday evening after a sudden illness. Mrs. Roman was born in Natrona, PA, and had lived in Canton most of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at Aultman Hospital for the last 28 years. She was a Seamstrees. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Angela Poewloski; and her husband, Nick, on August 25, 1983; and one brother. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Nick Roman of columbus, OH., Dan and Shelley Roman of Canton; one daughter, Kathy Roman of Canton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Angela Sucheck of Canton. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Monsignor John Finnigan as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home, with a Wake Service at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) in the fuenral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter's Building Fund.

Karen A. Surington
Karen A. Surington, age 58, of Dellroy, passed away Tuesday morning in the residence after an extended illness. She was born in Cleveland, a daughter of the late William Jahn and
Emily Tafat Jahn of Maple Heights, OH, and had been a Dellroy resident six years. Karen had been Office Manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Independence, OH. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges. Surviving besides her mother is her husband, Cyril D. Cy Surington, with whom she celebrated their 39th Wedding Anniversary on October 20th; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frederick and Mihaela Jahn and their daughter, Alina, of Maple Heights, and William and Jaqueline Jahn and their children, Robert and Stephanie, of Auburn Hills, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Marut officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 7-9 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karen's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Lisa Jean Rodriques
Lisa Jean (Milini) Rodriques. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church of Canton with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini as celebrant. Burial in Sunset Hills. Friends may call Wednesday 7-9 p.m. in the Earl B. Jack Funeral and one hour prior to services.

Patricia Machamer
Patricia A. Machamer, age 73, of Hartville, went to be with the Lord Monday night, December 31, 2001 in Altercare of Hartville. A lifetime Hartville resident, Patricia was born on June 19, 1928 in Akron to the late Russell Ethel (Kanal) Stickler. She was a member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, and she enjoyed playing cards. Preceded in death by a sister Jane Coffman. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Vernon E. Bugs; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy Dianna Machamer of Hartville, Michael Sandy Machamer of North Canton, Jeffrey Ann Machamer of Uniontown; grandchildren, Christopher Christine Machamer, Keri Jason Stehler, all of Hartville, Jacob Machamer of North Canton, Erick Machamer of Uniontown, and Amy Jack Stansbery of Denver, CO; and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday 11:00 AM in the Hartville Church of the Brethren with Pastor Peter C. Kaltenbaugh Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church's memorial fund.

Richard G. Shonk
Richard G. Shonk, age 75, of Canton, OH and N. Fort Myers, FL, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2001 in Hospice of Western Reserve of Cleveland following an extended illness. He was born in Canton, OH on August 17, 1926 to his parents the late Clarence E. and Nora M. (Russell) Shonk. He was a truck driver, retiring from Ryder PIE in 1985 and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Teamsters Retirees Club Local #92, North Canton Eagles #2223, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3124 and American Legion Post #0007. Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Phillips) Shonk, whom he married October 5, 1946 at Camp Kilmer, NJ; a grandchild, Tonya K. Shonk; six brothers; and five sisters. Survived by sons, Richard and Linda Shonk of Lyndon, WI, Robert Shonk of Canton, John and Nancy Shonk of Malvern, OH, and Jack and Debbie Shonk of Canton; daughters, Vicky and Larry Nelson of Wickliffe, OH, and Norene and Robert Mastcko of North Canton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Shonk of Millersburg, OH. According to his wishes, the body will be cremated. Memorial service will be held Friday, January 4, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Free Methodist Church, 1014 Harrison Ave. SW, Canton, with Rev. Raymond Gill officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.

Shehab M. Aser
Shehab M. Aser, age 77 of Canton, passed away Sunday afternoon in Aultman Hospital of sudden illness. He was born in Btar, Syria and had lived in Canton since 1947. He was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, former Trustee on the board of St. George Church, Phoenician Society, Scottish Rite, Tadmor Shrine of Akron and the Masonic Temple Lathrop Lodge of Canton. He was retired from Republic Steel as a General Supervisor for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Selma and one sister, Carol Hill. He is survived by his wife, Manira (Georges) Aser with whom he was married for 62 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Aser of Canton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mila and Joseph Durkin of Canton, Julia and Raymond Guardado of Canton and Lydia and Walter Hogg of Wilson, NC; three sisters, Sarah Sweeny, Marilyn Price and Barbara Parks; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Vincent and Kristin Guardado, Edward and Carrie Aser, Amy and Stephen Grabriel, Anthony Guardado, Ann Durkin, Kimberly Hogg and Abigail Hogg; two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Cervo officiating assisted by the Very Rev. Fr. Theodore E. Ziton. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday (tonight) from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home and also one hour before the services at the church on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Trisagion services will be Wednesday (tonight) at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Wilma L. Schibler
Wilma L. Schibler, age 92, of Canton, OH., passed away Tuesday morning, January 1, 2002, in the Sterling House following an extended illness. Born in Canal Fulton, OH., October 23, 1909, to her parents, the late Joseph and Sophia Stitz. She lived most of her life in the Canton area; and was a retired employee of the Canton Auto Club, retiring in 1971 after nine years of service. Following her retirement, she was an assistant secretary for many years at Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Schibler was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Booster Sunday School Class, Sunshine Circle, Canton Chapter #190 Eastern Star, AARP and Triosis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernst Schibler, August 6, 1962; and her brother, Adrian Stitz. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry (Schibler) Nofer of Canton, OH; two grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy and David Dicken of Canton, OH., Scott and Jennifer Nofer of Canton, OH; three great-grandchildren, Madelyne Nofer, Emilee Dicken and Brian Nofer; there are numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with her nephew, Rev. Ralph Schibler officiating. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Thursday 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in her name to Zion Lutheran Church, 702 Raff Road S.W., Canton, OH 44710.
