Anna E. Longabaugh
Anna E. Longabaugh, age 90, formerly of North Industry, died Tuesday in Palm Bay Nursing Home in Palm Bay, FL, following an extended illness. Daughter of the late William and Minnie (Deibel) Pfeiffer. She was formerly employed by Fisher Dry Goods and was a member of the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church in North Lawrence and was a former member of the North Industry Christian Church. She was a member of the Canton Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary Station #1 and was a piano teacher for many years. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bud Longabaugh, in 1993; two brothers, Raymond and Edwin Pfeiffer; one sister, Bernice Ridenour; one great-grandchild. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Paskoff of Massillon, Judy and Marion Fricke of Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Minnie Bolon of Florida, Terry and Judy Bolon of Canton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Stephen Kimbrel officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m.

Anthony Tony J. Gambone Sr.
Anthony Tony J. Gambone, Sr. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church with Fr. Edward Beneleit as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call Thursday (tonight) 6-9 p.m. in the Don Williams Funeral Home. The funeral procession on Friday will form at the church.

Carol Ann Sasin
Carol Ann Sasin. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in First Christian Church, 2600 Cleveland Ave. NW with Pastors John Hampton, Brad Hammond and Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours in the First Christian Church Thursday (tonight) 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday 9-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sasin Children's College Fund, c/o First Christian Church.

Elsie A. Hovan
Elsie A. Hovan, age 91, of Canal Fulton, passed away Tuesday morning in Massillon Community Hospital. She was born in Asheville, PA, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Emma Adams Maloney, and had resided in Canal Fulton since Oct. of last year, previously residing in St. Petersburg, FL, since 1975. She was a member of St. Jude's Cathedral and the Anthonian Society of St. Anthony's Hospital, both in St. Petersburg. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Hovan on May 28, 1991. Survived by two daughters, Theresa Hovan Halligan, of Canton, and Rosemary Hovan, of Canal Fulton; one sister, Hazel Maloney, of Northern Cambria, PA. There will be no calling hours or services. Entombment will be in Royal Palm North Mausoleum in St. Petersburg. The Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ida C. Billman
Ida C. Billman, age 74 of Canton died Wednesday morning in Gaslite Villa following an extended illness. Born August 12, 1927 in Canton to the late, William and Hester Schumacher. Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin G. Billman on November 7, 1994 and two grandchildren, Stacy and Erica Billman. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Hester and Jerry Snyder; five sons and daughters-in-law, Mel Sonny (Sue) Billman Jr., Robert and Tina Billman, Frank and Julie Billman, John Billman and Paul Billman. There are two sisters; one brother and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Paul Rudy, Aultman Hospice Chaplain officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home two hours prior to services from 12:00-2:00 p.m.

James T. Reese
James T. Reese, age 82, of North Canton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening June 11, 2002 from the Hospice Care Center in Akron. Born January 30, 1920 to the late Thomas Owen and Margaret (Stanton) Reese. Mr. Reese was a member of the Trinity Gospel Temple. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1941 and also from the Cleveland Institute of Art. He retired as an inspector with the Timken Company and later was a driver for Thrifty Car Rental. Member of the Full Gospel Businessmen and had a zeal and passion for the Lord's Word. He was an avid golfer and an Army veteran of World War II. Survived by his wife, Wilma (Okey) Reese with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage on November 21, 2001; daughter, Susan McCutchan of Charlotte, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Susan Reese, Daniel and Jennifer Reese all of Canton, Paul Reese of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren and spouses, Shawn (Crystie) McCutchan, Philip (Brandi) McCutchan, Timothy Reese and fiancee, Stacy Spurrier, Jessica Reese, Ariene Reese, Corey Reese and Justin Reese; brother and sister-in-law, David and Mary Reese of Canton; brother-in-law, Richard Bund of WA. Preceded in death by a sister, Martha Bund and a cousin, Lois Reese. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton with Brother Dave Lombardi officiating. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. John M. Hiben
John M. Hiben, age 44, of North Canton, died Saturday evening in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born Feb. 12, 1958 in canton. John was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Canton, the Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame and the Teamsters Union Local #24. He was an avid sports fan, was employed by Roadway Express, was an unpaid assistant with the Timken Trojan Baseball Team and was a former player for Doc Ferguson's Yankee Baseball Team. Most of all John was a loving husband, father, son and friend. Preceded in death by his father, John S. Hiben. Survivors include his wife, Deeann; three children, Carli Beth (10), Michael John (8), and Sarah MacRae (5), all of home; his mother, Anna Bell Hiben of Canton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicky and Dan DeWalt and Jacky and Mike Smith, all of Canton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lyle and Nancy McGrath of Bolivar; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Petty McGrath of Beach City; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Daun and Will Cespedes of Bolivar and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene of Canton, 522 30th St. NW, Canton, OH. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services from 2-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hiben Children's Education Fund, c/o any Unizan Bank Branch.

Johnnie Padgett
Johnnie (J.B.) Padgett, age 71, of Paris, OH. He passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2002. He was born in Conway, AR, October 29, 1930, to the late Robert and Sallie (Firestone) Padgett. John was retired from BP Oil and was an Air force veteran. He was a member of the Louisville Church of Christ. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Padgett, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Billie; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Koehler of Louisville, Terri Bordner of Navarre, Marla and Daniel Donato of Washington Twp., son and daughter-in-law, John and Nadara Padgett of Louisville; three brothers, Eugene, Leonard (Buddy) and Bob Padgett all of Conway, AR; seven grandchildren, Michael, Brad and Hope Koehler, Adam and Kayla Donato, Greg and Brittany Padgett; three great-grandchildren, Bryant, Shawn, and Madison. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Louisville Church of Christ with Mr. Jeff Stevenson officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Louisville Church of Christ and one hour before service on Friday at the church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louisville Church of Christ. Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

Norman P. Ross
Norman P. Ross, age 52, of Canton, OH, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 12, 2002, in the residence. Born in Canton, OH, August 3, 1949, he was a 1968 graduate of Hoover High School and a former employee of Fisher Foods on Harrison Ave. S.W. in Canton. Norman was a member of First United Church of Christ and a Deacon of the church. He was an avid Cleveland Sports fan and Ohio State Buckeye fan. Norman was preceded in death by his father, Matthew R. Ross in 1957. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Ross of Canton; his mother, Norma Ross of Massillon, OH; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Delores Ross of Dellroy, OH; his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Daniel Dildine of Canton, OH; several aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. William Seymour officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Friday 11-1 p.m.

Paul D. Schaefer
Paul D. Schaefer. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in All saints Catholic Church with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. Burial in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. in Wackerly Funeral Home. The St. Peter's Men's Club Holy Name Society will hold a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pauline K. Casler
Pauline K. Casler, age 87, passed away June 9, 2002. Preceded in death by husband, Cedric Casler. Survived by sons, Richard (Jean) Kurz and Robert (Cheryl) Kurz; sister, Marjorie Gay; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Raymond C. Reale
Raymond C. Reale, age 71, of Massillon, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center, Akron. He was born October 4, 1930, in Canton, and had lived in Massillon most of his life. He had worked as a tool and die designer at S.K.F. Tyson Bearing for 28 years, and was a bridge and road inspector for Stark County Engineers. He was a member of Saint Mary Parish and was Past Grand Knight of K Of C Council #554 where he was also a member of the 4th degree Bishop Massillon Assembly and a volunteer with the K of C Hot Lunch Program. He bowled and golfed with the K of C Bowling and Golf Leagues. He was a member of American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, VFW Post #3124, Amvets Post #6, and Italian Club. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by wife, Florence 'Dolly' (Cicchinelli) Reale of Massillon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Elaine Reale of Anchorage, AK, Stephen and Patricia Reale of Kiana, AK, Richard and Therese Reale of Massillon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Alan Prosser of Stow, OH, Lisa and Lee Gross of Plymouth, MI; five brothers, Al Reale of California, James Reale of Canton, Eddie Reale of Canton, Rev. Sante Reale of Florida, Gus Reale of Louisville, OH; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Sante and Loretta (Lombardi) Reale; daughter, Angela Reale (died 1956); grandson, Mark Reale (died 1972. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Sante Reale officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at Heitger Funeral Service-Massillon Chapel. Memorials may be made to K of C Hot Lunch Program, 988 Cherry Rd N.W, Massillon, OH 44647.

Robert W. Haring Sr.
Robert Wesley Haring Sr., passed away Monday, June 3, 2002, due to a motorcycle accident in Woodsfield, OH. He was the son of the late, Myrl and Gertrude (Brannon) Haring. Retired after 28 years from the Timken Co., Dueber. He was born May 15, 1937 in River Rouge, MI. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of Caldwell Moose. Survived by his first wife, Mary; daughter, Ann (Albert) McCormick; sons, John W. (Alicia) Haring and Robert Haring Jr., of Georgia; one brother, Donald F. Haring Sr; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and very close friends, Bruce Hartzell and Carol Kovac. For condolences please send to c/o Ann McCormick 28870 Twp. Russell E. Wintrow
Russell Pencils E. Wintrow, age 68, of Akron, OH passed away Tuesday, June 11 the in his sisters home in Canton. He was born in Akron, graduated from South High School and attended The University of Akron. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Russ retired from the Akron Public Schools. He was an avid sportsman who spent much of his time fishing and hunting and was a life member of the National Rifle Assoc. of America and Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold D. and Gertrude E. Wintrow and brothers, Harold L. and W. David Wintrow. He is survived by sisters, Katherine (Kay) Gemind of Winter Park, FL and Marie Pry of Canton as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Prentice Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. (Akron) with Pastor Lynn Williamson officiating and private inurnment will take place later. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Charity of one's choice. Prentice a family owned funeral home.

Steve L. Szili
Steve L. Szili, age 84, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday morning in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born December 22, 1917 in Cleveland to the late Steve and Barbara Szili. He was a member of Canton Christian Fellowship, was a World War II Army Veteran and was retired from the Harris Corp. of Cleveland. Preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Szili; one brother, Henry Szili. Survivors include his wife, Lucille of the home; two daughters, Judy Rhode of Hinkley, OH and Debbie McCune of Wadsworth; and one stepdaughter, Marsha Drummond; two sisters, Gert Varga of Lakewood, OH, Florence Sheha of Maple Heights; one brother, Edward Szili of Lakewood, OH; two grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Wescott officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home one hour prior to services from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canton Christian Fellowship Building Fund.

Willard E. Shaver
Willard E. Mike Shaver, age 74, of 11399 Lynchburg Road, Kensington, Ohio, died at Alliance Community Hospital, Tuesday, June 11, 2002. Born September 3, 1927, in Exchange, WV., to the late William (Cecil) and Ora (Prine) Shaver. He was employed for 30 years in hydraulic maintenance with the Penn Central Railroad, and had previously worked for Good Roads. He attended Church of Christ in Hanoverton, OH. A Veteran of World War II and the Korean War; and was a member of the Minerva Kiwanis for 25 years. Survived by his wife, Ada Fay (Kirsch) Shaver of the home, whom he married October 6, 1951; daughter, Mrs. Monte D. (Betty) Hull of Kensington, OH; son, Willard Eddie (W.E.) Shaver of Carrollton, OH; step-son, Richard Kirsch of Canton, OH; brother, William Shaver of Sutton, WV; and five grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by son, Cecil Shavers; and grandson, Richard D. Kirsch. Calling hours at the Maple-Cotton Funeral Home, Kensington, OH., Thursday (TODAY) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where services will be held Friday, June 14, 2002, at 11 a.m. Burial in Grove Hill Cemetery. William Volkert Jr.
William J. Volkert Jr., age 84, of Canton, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, June 10, 2002, in Meadow Wind Health Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH., September 10, 1917, to his parents the late William J. Volkert Sr. and Lillian (Barrett) Volkert and was a retired employee of B. P. Motor Freight. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army and former member of Meyers Lake Sportsman Club and the Teamsters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Eileen Volkert in 1961 and his second wife, Dorothy Volkert in 1999; step-son, David Keister and step-daughter, Shirley Lenemier. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, William J. Volkert III and Nancy Volkert of Canton, OH; two step-daughters and their spouses, Linda and Joseph Boda of Canton, OH., Rose and David Yeary of Massillon, OH; there are 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also surviving. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED THURSDAY (TODAY) 1 P.M. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
