Audrey A. Abbott
Audrey A. Abbott, age 75, of Canton, OH., passed Thursday evening in the Manor Care Health Services following an extended illness. Born in New Philadelphia, OH., on August 24, 1926 she was a former employee of the Glass Lumber Co., in New Philadelphia. She was a member of the Maryland Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the North Canton Elks Auxiliary and the McKinley Eagles Lodge #2370. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anna Waldron; and a sister, Esther Archinal. Survivors include her husband, James Abbott of the home; two sisters, Dorothy Glass of New Philadelphia, OH., and Roberta VonAllmen of Dover, OH. There are several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services, for the family, will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. James Ford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, her wishes were that donations may be made to the Maryland Ave. Baptist Church.

Carol E. Steen
Carol E. Steen, age 55, of Massillon, died Thursday in Mercy Medical Center. She was employed by the Stark County MRDD, Whipple-Dale Centre Workshop in the Ceramic's Department for over 30 years where she was an accomplished painter and glazer. She was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church. Survived by her mother, Freda (Sherbourne) Steen of Massillon; brother and sister-in-law, James H. and Marty Steen of Canton; step-nieces and nephews, Delana and Doug Humphrey. Preceded in death by her father, W. Henry Steen in 2001. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Reedurban Presbyterian Church, 1145 Perry Dr. NW, with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Interment will be Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW, Sunday 1-3 p.m. and Monday 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to MRDD Whipple-Dale Centre Workshop, 2950 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708.

Dorsey V. Cottrell. Friends may call Sunday 3-7:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville and 1 hour prior to services on Monday (10-11:00 AM). Funeral Services will be Monday 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. James H. Woodring officiating. Final Resting Place is Mount Peace Cemetery.

Duane D. Henke
Duane Douglas Henke, age 40, of Canton, died May 27, 2002 at his home. He was born September 18, 1961 in Canton. He is the son of Paul Henke and the late Lucy Bass. He is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Henke Jr. Survivors are his father, Paul Henke Sr; three sons, Brian Henke, Paul Henke, Aaron Baker; one daughter, Amanda Henke; one step son, Jason Baker; one brother, Donald Henke; one sister, Tracie Tucker of Arkansas; and aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews are also surviving. Services are pending.

Evelyn Werner
Evelyn Werner, age 88, of Louisville, OH., went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 30, 2002. Born October 13, 1913 in Bergholz, OH., daughter of Samuel and Frances Wright, she moved to Canton area in 1922, graduated from McKinley High School in 1931 and worked at the Hoover Company until she married in 1935. She and her husband were dairy farmers and members of St. Jacobs Community Church of Cairo, Stark County Farm Bureau, and past members of Plain Grange #2. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Wayne Huberty of North Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Meriam Werner of Westlake; four grandchildren, Todd (Seanna) Huberty of Canton, Tracy (Brian) Richard of Massillon, Tyson Werner, and Wesley Werner, both of Avon Lake; two great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Martz of North Canton; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Arnold Werner in 1977. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Jacob's Community Church with Rev. Bob Lair officiating. Burial in St. Jacob's Cemetery. Friends may call 1-4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Karlo Sons Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4916 Hills Dales Rd. Grace A. Kracker
Grace A. Kracker, age 93, died May 31, 2002 at Hanover House Nursing Center following a brief illness. She was born April 6, 1909, in Massillon, daughter of the late Frank X. and Clara (Schill) Schmader. She was a shoe salesperson and had worked at different area Massillon shoes stores including Brockman's, Del's, and Michael's for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary Church Parish where she participated in Rosary Altar Society, Seniors Group, and the Isabella's. She also belonged to Massillon Senior Center, and AARP. She is survived by daughter Judy Sears, daughters and sons in law, Jeanne and Donald Appleby and Eileen and Tony Reed, sister Mrs. Ruth Conti, all of Massillon, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 yrs., Jerome Kracker (died 1987), and four brothers. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 3, 2002 at 10 A.M. St. Mary Church in Massillon with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 2, 2002 from 6 to 9 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Service, Massillon Chapel. A scriptural service will be held during visitation hours. Memorials may be made to St. Mary School Angel Fund or St. Mary's Choir, 726 First St. N.E., Massillon, or Quota International of Massillon, P O Box 81, Massillon, OH 44648.

Hannah Jenei
Hannah Jenei, 80, of Strasburg died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar following an extended illness. Born June 17, 1921 in Strasburg she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Nora Lab Snyder. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg where she taught Sunday School for many years and also served on the Alter Guild. She also enjoyed dancing. Hannah is survived by two sons, Robert (Karen) Jenei of Strasburg and Thomas (Jeannine) Jenei of Reading, MA; daughter, Alice (Elden) Deibel of Zoar; brother, Paul (Betty) Snyder of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Elsie Margo of Dover and Gladys Flickinger of Strasburg; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, four brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Pastor Fred Grosse officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. John N. Rodgers
John Nelson Rodgers, age 47, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 in Butler, PA following a sudden heart attack. He was currently performing services in Butler, PA, for 3-D Service where he has worked for the past five years. He attended Clarendon and Lincoln High Schools. He was an avid softball pitcher, winning many games. He was preceded in death by both his maternal grandparents, Harry and Anna Marconi; his paternal grandparents, John Nelson and Mamie Rodgers; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Tina and Bob Williams ; his father, John A. Rodgers, all of Canton; his daughters, Jennifer and Jeremy Bouillion and their children, Jarren, Jaina, and Jayse, all of Canton, Jaclyn and Brian Ritchey and their children, Brianna and Cailin, all of Westerville, OH; his son, Justin J. Rodgers of Canton; sisters, Melanie Ramirez and Cyndy Isom; a nephew, Chad; niece, Kristina Sissy Isom, all of Canton; his close friends, Clyde and Carol Bartow, Jack Williamson and Sharon McMann. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Don Williams Funeral Home with Dr. M. Dana Gammill officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Joseph Borsellino
Joseph Borsellino, age 59, of Waynesburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon in McKinley Life Care Center. He was born in Cattolica, Italy, a son of the late Dominick and Giuseppina Lucia Borsellino, and had been a Waynesburg resident since 1956. Joe was a 1962 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. He was a former employee of Martin's Pastry and LTV Steel. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg. Preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Borsellino, on Aug. 7, 1997, and a brother, Francesco Borsellino, on March 27, 2001. Survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and JoAnn Borsellino of Canton; a sister-in-law, Vincenza Borsellino of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Saturday (today) at 11 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Seifert as celebrant. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Lauren Brooke Kicos
Lauren Brooke Kicos, two days of age, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 in Akron Children's Hospital. Survived by parents, Joseph and Christine (Tucci) Kicos of North Canton; sister, Nikki; grandparents, Rick and Doreen Tucci of Massillon, and Gretchen and Bob Humbert of Carrollton; great-grandparents, Betty Tucci of Canton, Ida and John Cice of Canton; and great-grandmother, Susan Huk of Canton; aunts and uncles, Stacey Tucci of Massillon, John Kicos of Charlotte, NC, and James Kicos of Hartville. Preceded in death by grandfather, John Kicos, MD in 1977. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW with Pastor Stephen Wescott officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308-1062.

Lucille Rock
Lucille Rock, age 86, of Canton, died Thursday evening in Majora Lane Nursing Home, Millersburg following an extended illness. Daughter of the late, Frank and Mae (Fenton) West. She is a member of North Industry United Methodist Church. She is also preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne Rock in 1999; and one brother, Russell West. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Mark Damon of Cuyahoga Falls, Carolyn Maxwell of South Carolina; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sheryl Neal of Carrollton; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Hoffman of West Lafayette. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Rev. David Ross officiating. interment in Sunset Hills Burial park. Friends may call one hour before services on Monday (10-11 a.m.)

Marian S. Lotz
Marian S. (J. Wendell) Lotz, passed away on April 15, 2002, in Pensacola, FL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the auditorium at Azalea Trace, 10100 Hillview Rd., Pensacola, FL. Marjorie Furney
Marjorie Mae Furney, of 565 Caren Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23452, passed away May 31, 2002, in her home. She was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Ashland, OH, she had resided in Virginia Beach one and a half years; in Canton, OH, 53 1/2 years; and in Loudenville, OH, eight years. She was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and M.E. Cox Center, both in Virginia Beach; the Women's International Bowling Assoc. and bowled in Canton and Ashland, OH, for years; was a volunteer firefighter for Meyers Lake Fire Dept. in Canton, OH; and volunteer driver for the Red Cross in Canton. She was a retired Teacher's Aid at Clarendon Grade School in Canton. Mrs. Furney is survived by four sons, Louis Mundorff of Ashland, OH, Jack Coffee and his wife, Mary, of Canton, OH, John Petry and his wife, Sandy, of Virginia Beach, Robert Furney and his wife, Nancy, of Canton; four daughters, Lillian Bennington and her husband, Dan, of Hammerville, OH, Charlene Nickell of Batavia, OH, Catherine Kerner and her husband, Craig, of Canal Fulton, OH and Debra Stuhldreyer and her husband, Rob, of Stow, OH; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three sisters. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Furney; two sisters; one grandson. A good mother and friend who will be missed by everyone. A Memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date. Services in the care of Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Rd.

Mary Carmel LeButt
Mary Carmel LeButt, age 89, a life resident of Canton, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 in St. Luke Lutheran Home. She was a graduate of St. John's High School and retired in 1974 from the Stern Mann Co. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church;, the Columbus Womens Club, and was a former member of St. Michael's Ladies Guild. Preceded in death by her husband, Sundy J. LeButt in 1977; a sister, Isabel D. Burrill in 1996; and a brother, Louis J. Rose in 2001. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalie and Thomas Anderson of Cleveland Heights, OH, Geraldine and Robert Nikolaus of Canton, and Marlene and Robert Lucci of Solon, OH; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr. Frank Carfagna as celebrant. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. Maxine J. Hoff
Mrs. Maxine Jeanette Hoff (Kopp), age 82, of Shelbyville, Indiana, died at Heritage Manor, Shelbyville, IN., May 31, 2002. She was a school teacher, Mrs. Hoff taught in Canton, Ohio from 1942 to 1947. She was a substitute teacher for Shelbyville Central School from 1958 to 1992. Mrs. Hoff graduated from McKinley High School in Canton, OH., in 1938, and from Kent State University in 1942 with a Bachelor of Education degree. On July 7, 1946, she married John Lynn Hoff, who died on July 26, 1998. Mrs. Hoff's memberships include Phi Alpha Alpha Sorority, honorariums Phi Alpha Theta and Kappa Delta Phi and was in the University band, Shelbyville-Shelby County Public Library Board; serving as president on the library board as well as the Thomas A. Hendricks PTA; was a lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville. Survived by sons, James Lynn Hoff of Carmel, IN. and Lewis Allan Hoff of Niagra Falls, NY; grandsons, John Hoff and Michael Hoff; granddaughters, Ann Hoff, Amy Hoff, and Rachel Hoff. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clarence C. Kopp and Zula May Kopp; and one sister. Funeral services Monday, June 3, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Shelbyville, IN., with Rev. Gary W. Huffman and Deacon Judy Hoff officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, Indiana. Visitation at the Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, Sunday, June 2, 2002, from 2-6 p.m., and one half hour before at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church Abiding Memorial Fund, Shelbyville, IN.

Royal E. Young
Royal E. Young, age 79, of Hartville, died Friday, May 31, 2002 in Mercy Medical Center. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, served in the South Pacific, graduated from Electronic Technical Institute, owner of Young's TV in Hartville, and was a member of Canton Baptist Temple. Survived by wife of 54 years, Florence Young, of the home; daughter, Nancy L. Baker of Hartville, son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Dawn Young of Glendale, AZ; grandson, Nathan Baker; sister, Valdia (Henry) Shorb; brothers, Al Young and Harvey J. (Jean) Young; and sister, Elsie Wiley. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National World War II Memorial, American Battle Monuments Commission, PO Box 96766 Washington DC, 20090-6766.
