Anna K. Baker
Anna K. Baker, age 86, of Canton, died Wednesday night in St. Joseph Care Center. Born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, she had been a Canton resident since she was three months old. She was a graduate of McKinley High School and The Canton Actual Business College, and had played the piano for WHBC many years ago. Anna was a former employee of McKenzie and Jones, and Stern and Mann's. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and St. John's Guild. Survived by a niece, Mary Agnes (Nieschwitz) Smith, and her husband, John Smith of Bowerston, OH. She was the widow of William S. Baker who died in 1987. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Klingler as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.

Becky G. Oates
Becky G. Oates. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4940 W. Tuscarawas Street, with Fr. Joseph Ruggieri as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home Friday 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The funeral procession will begin at the Church on Saturday.

Bernice S. Ensley
Bernice S. (Lelakus) Ensley, age 84, of Canton, OH, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2002 in the Legends Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Akron, OH, Oct. 7, 1917 to her parents the late Anthony and Carolyn Lelakus, she lived most of her life in the Canton area. She was a former hostess at Country Manor Restaurant, retiring in 1979 after ten years of service. She was a member of AARP. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ensley; four brothers, Albert, Adam, Joseph and Theodore Lelakus; sister, Alice Valentine. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Beamer of Canton, Jean and Clifford Carpenter of Canal Fulton, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Dillinger of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Timothy Beamer, Colleen Page, Trisha Hennessey, Donald Dekay, Matthew Dekay, Amy Dekay, Leslie Nastoff, Troy Dillinger; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their thanks for the care they received from the Visiting Nurse Hospice Program. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Fr. Matthew M. Herttna officiating. Calling hours Sunday one hour prior to services on Sunday 2-3 p.m. At her request, her body will be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc.

Bertha L. Brick
Bertha L. Brick. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Welch-Sekeres-Lewis Funeral Home. Calling hours Friday (tonight) 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc. or Diabetes Assoc.

Carl F. Wise, Jr.
Carl F. Wise, Jr., age 74, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, evening at the Canton Health Care Center. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl F., Sr. and Ruth; brother, Dale E. Wise. He is survived by a son, Carl F. Wise, III of Canton and a daughter and son-in-law, Kay (Glynn) Denty of Texas; one granddaughter and three grandsons; three great-grandsons. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. No funeral services.

Charles Zimmerman
Charles D. Zimmerman. A Memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

Dominick Bitzel, Jr.
Dominick F. Bitzel, Jr. Services will be conducted Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home. Friends may call Friday at 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Esther Hogan-White
Esther Hogan-White. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Demetrious Mittas officiating. Calling hours in the funeral home Friday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. Cremation will follow the funeral services.

Freda Glaser
Freda Glaser, age 93, of Canton. Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home with Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. Interment in Canton Hebrew Cemetery.

Gabor Sire Csire
Gabor Sire Csire, 53, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2002 surrounded by his family at Massillon Community Hospital. He was born in Hungary and had been a resident of the Akron/Canton area since 1972. He was self-employed as the owner of Gabor's Plumbing for 15 years and was previously employed by Doerschuk Plumbing for 10 years. He was a member of the Hungarian American Club, which had served as president, and was a veteran of the Hungarian Army. He was the Featherweight Boxing Champion of Hungary in 1966 and had played soccer with the German Family Society team for the past 20 years. Mr. Sire is survived by his wife, Maria; daughters, Michelle of the home, Suzanne (Todd) Vernier of Rockville, SC and Christina (Tim) Austin of Navarre; grandchildren, Ashley and Brooke Vernier and Lea and Amanda Austin; brother, Gyuszi Mihaly of Hungary and was preceded in death by his parents, Gyula and Rozsa Mihaly and sister, Idus Csire. Gabor will be remembered Sunday as a special intention at the regularly scheduled 10:00 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Akron and at a memorial service to be held at Sacred Heart Church later on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Harry E. Rice
Harry E. Rice. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours.

Jack A. Williams
Jack A. Williams, age 76, of Canton, OH, passed away Thursday morning in the Hospitality House in Massillon following an extended illness. Born in Canton on June 15, 1925, he was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired employee of Stark Distributing Co., retiring in 1982 after 17 years of service. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Blanche Williams and also by a great-granddaughter, Alivia Jones. Survivors include his wife, Jean Williams of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Donald Jones of Canton and Jackie and Larry Mauer of Canton; his son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Tom and Sandra Williams of Canton; two brothers, Bill Williams of Louisville and Thomas Williams of Florida; and his sister, Norma Schmid of Grayson, GA; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with his son, Rev. Tom Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. There will be calling hours prior to services on Monday 12 Noon-1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 140 Perry Dr. S.W., Canton, OH.

Jack E. Sanford, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home with Elder Ron Harmon officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Friday 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jess G. Clark
Jess G. Clark, age 87, of East Canton, OH., passed away Thursday morning, February 14, 2002 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH., July 23, 1914 to his parents the late, Jess and Cecila Clark. He lived most of his life in the East Canton area and was a retired station manager with Sohio, retiring in 1979 after 13 years of service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1992; step-brother, Charles Clark; sister, Lillian Clark; and great-granddaughter, Samantha Clark. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Pollie Clark of Hamilton, OH., James Clark of Canton, OH., John and Marilyn Clark of Louisville, OH; one daughter, Judy Lehmiller of Houston, TX. There are 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour to services on Monday from 12 Noon to 1 p.m.

Lucretia M. Alfani
Lucretia Marie Alfani, age 86, of Alliance, passed away Wednesday at her home. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Charles Yohe, Sandra and Robert Hoopes, Linda and Richard Allison, and Lucretia and Lawrence Hyett; and a son, Michael Alfani. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 427 E. Broadway, Alliance, OH 44601.

Otto F. Manly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton. Friends may call Friday

Pamela S. Stanley
Pamela S. Stanley, age 53, of Canton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, in Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Survived by her mother, Marvine Comsia of Canton; one sister and one brother. Private services were held Thursday, Feb. 14, in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home.

Peter D. Zeigler
Peter D. Zeigler, age 60, died Tuesday February 12, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Gallitzen, PA., and has been an Akron area resident for most of his life. He was employed by Firestone/Bridgestone for over 31 years retiring in 1997. Mr. Zeigler was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Ludella (nee Stafford) Bissesi; and his brother, Gerald; and is survived by his wife of 38 years, Margaret (Kovac); brother, John Zeigler of Florida; brother-in-law, John (Rosie) Kovac of Clearwater, FL; many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday 2:30 p.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. with Rev. Mr. Frank Lonteen officiating. Cremation has been taken place. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Raymond C. Burdett
Raymond C. Burdett. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12 Noon in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Blough officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour before services on Saturday from 11-12 Noon.

Robert E. L. Rainey
A celebration of the life and art of Robert E. L. Rainey will be held Saturday, February 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Library of the Canton Art Institute, 1001 Market Avenue North, Canton, Ohio. Visitors are encouraged to bring their favorite pieces of Rainey art for display during the service. Mr. Rainey passed away January 20, 2002, after a long illness.

Ruth V. Ritenour
Ruth V. Ritenour. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home Friday 7-9 p.m.

Tanya Lee Carey-Chronister
Tanya Lee Carey-Chronister, born on November 9, 1976. The Lord called her home on February 13, 2002. Tanya was a very bright and beautiful woman who taught our family what the courage to fight and survive meant. She touched everyone she met in a special, unique way and brought a smile to all faces who were graced with her presence. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1995. She worked at Downtown Ford. Tanya is survived by her husband, Thomas Chronister of Canton; stepchildren, Courtney and Caleb; mother, Nancy Carey of Canton; twin sister, Tiffany Carey and her fiance, Denny Riggle; father and step-mother, Lyle Jay and Denise Carey of Bloomingdale, Ohio; step-sisters, Maggie and Megan; grandparents, Bill and Judy Lynn of Canton; great-grandmother, Mildred Barkley; uncle, Charles Barkley; aunts, Diane Fleischman and Lee Ann and Dennis Moore; cousins, Shane Fleischman and Madison Moore. Preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Barkley. A special thanks to Jim Welling who provided fatherly support throughout Tanya's whole life and to Tanya's adopted aunt and uncle, Heidi Staples and David Staples, and their daughter, Morgan. We would like to thank Dr. Titus Sheers, Dr. Thomas Olbrych, Dr. John Fida, the nursing staff on 6200, and every one at Akron Children's Hospital who cared for Tanya and supported her family. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. in Karlo and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eli O. Klingensmith officiating. Burial will be in North Canton Cemetery. Friends may call Friday (tonight) 6-9 p.m., and Saturday 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to cystic Fibrosis Carefund, c/o Akron Children's Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308.

Walter Keiner. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4700 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, with officiant Carl Baldwin presiding. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.

Walter R. Myers
Walter R. Myers, age 75, of Kensington. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
