Sarah E. ''Sally'' Trimmer
September 27, 1918 - July 15, 2004
Sarah E. ''Sally'' Trimmer, 85, Cadiz, died Thursday, July 15 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. Sally was born September 27, 1918 in Barnesville, Ohio a daughter of the late James Toland and Mary Slevin Gibson.
Sally was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Cadiz and a member of the Catholic Womens Club, a former employee of the Cadiz Country Club, and a former volunteer at Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray D. Trimmer on February 14, 1978; 3 brothers: Joseph, Victor, and John Everett; and 4 sisters: Isabelle, Margaret, Ruth and Eleanor.
Sally is survived by her son, Kent Holland and his wife Jo Annof Adena; a daughter, Janice Konte of East Lake, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Calling hours are Friday, 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Cadiz with Rev. Fr. Thomas Vennitti the celebrant. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. Vigil service will be held Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Valley Hospice of Steubenville, 380 Summitt Avenue, Steubenville, Ohio 43952.

Arnold C. Perry
July 11, 1927 - July 11, 2004
Arnold C. Perry, 77, Cadiz, died Sunday, July 11 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born July 11, 1927 in Cadiz, a son of the late Arnold W. And Marjorie Cariens Perry.
He worked for the former Henson, McCombs, Long Motors, and Croskey Automobile Dealerships in Cadiz, and was currently working at the Harrison County Litter Control. He was a member of Scott United Methodist Church, Cadiz; Cadiz American Legion, Post #34, Cadiz; former member of the V.F.W.; and a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah ''Sally'' Charleton Perry; a son Russell and wife Linda Perry of Columbus; 2 daughters: Susan Stewart and husband Terry and Barbara Pincola and husband Adrian all of Cadiz; a stepson, John Stevenson and wife Judy of Yucaipa, California; 4 grandchildren; 1 step granddaughter; 1 great grandchild; 2 nephews; and his brother Joseph Perry and wife Martha of Cadiz, Ohio.
Calling hours are Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral service will be held Thursday, July 15, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery with full military graveside honors conducted by the Cadiz American Legion.

Michael A. Ott, ''Big Daddy''
June 07, 1952 - July 09, 2004
Michael A. Ott, Sr., ''Big Daddy'', 52, of Hopedale, died Friday, July 9, 2004 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born June 7, 1952 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of Gilbert and Patricia Lukens Ott of Jewett.
He was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ. A truck driver for Marks, Malone and Youngstown Cartage trucking firms, he was active in the NRA and the Hopedale American Legion.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Danne William Ott.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Debbie Abel Ott; two sons, Michael Ott, Jr. of Hilliard and Chris Ott of Cadiz; two daughters, Bobbi Jo Cusick of Cadiz, and Rachel Stoneburner of Ashtabula, OH; five grandchildren: Dalton, Austin Michael, Mariah, Madison, and Austin James; and two brothers, Thomas Ott of Cadiz and James Ott of Sun Praire, WI.
Friends may call Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. with Dean Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.

Margaret C. Brown
October 21, 1914 - July 08, 2004
Margaret C. ''Peg'' Brown, 89, of Cadiz, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born October 21, 1914 in Girard, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Dillon O'Neil.
She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Cadiz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Brown in 1986; a son, William Brown; three brothers, James, William and John O'Neil; and three sisters, Ursula Hardy, Elizabeth Lindsay and Marian Kope.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Brown of Columbus; two grandchildren, Terence Brown of Westerville, OH and Margaret Hedrick of Powell, OH; and three great grandchildren, Kacie, Erin and Zachary Hedrick.
Friends may call Saturday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 143 E. South St., Cadiz, Ohio 43907 by Rev. Fr. Thomas Vennitti. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Teresa's Catholic Church. A Vigil Service will be held Saturday in the funeral home.

Allen Telfer
June 27, 1950 - June 30, 2004
Allen Telfer, 54, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Cadiz, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 in Leesburg, following a lengthy illness. He was born June 27, 1950 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of Wilda Dowdle Telfer and the late Wayne D. Telfer.
He was a Truck Driver and Mechanic with Lester Coggins Trucking in Florida, and a former employee of Consolidation Coal Company in Cadiz. A Methodist by faith, he was a member of the Harrison Lodge 219, F. & A.M.; Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubneville; Cadiz Post 34 of the American Legion; and the UMWA.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Douglas.
Surviving are his companion, Susan Andrick; his mother, Wilda Dowdle Telfer and George Cassel of Cadiz and Leesburg, FL; a brother, Keith Telfer and his wife, Tenley; and two sisters, Pat McCann and her husband, Rick, and Pam Merkel and her husband, Tim, all of Cadiz; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio, where funeral services will be held Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Donna O'Connell officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio, with military honors performed by the Cadiz American Legion. Masonic Services will be held Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Clyde H. Beaird
July 06, 1922 - June 18, 2004
Clyde Beaird, 81, Cadiz, died Friday, June 18, at Trinity Medical Center East, Steubenville, Ohio. Clyde was born July 6, 1922 in Akron, Ohio a son of the late Autra Henry and Gertrude Mae Decker Beaird.
Clyde was a iron worker, a member of F.O.E. #2162, Cadiz and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Clyde is survived by his wife Dorothy J. Thompson Beaird; 2 sons: Randy Lee and Ronnie Lane Beaird both of Cadiz; and a daughter, Roxie Lynn Beaird McCoy of Montgomery, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 22 from 1:00 until time of memorial service at 2:00 with Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

Genevieve Pearl Booth
March 01, 1912 - June 16, 2004
Genevieve Pearl Booth, 92, of Cadiz, died Wednesday at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. She was born March 1, 1912 in Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late Alva O. and Alice M. Roupe Gray.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Cadiz and the Harrison County Grange. She served as a volunteer at Harrison Community Hospital and the House of Coal in Cadiz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Nick) Booth in 1982; a brother, William Gray; 2 sisters, Goldie B. Barrett and Mary E. Covey; and a granddaughter, Debbie Arlene Booth.
Surviving are a son, Max and his wife, Marjorie Booth; a daughter, Dot and her husband, Riley Cassell, all of Cadiz; a sister, Ada Hoy of Mannington, WV; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Ken Swelbar officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

John E. Rogers
October 22, 1947 - June 15, 2004
Born October 22, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia a son of the late Clark and Nellie Bargar Rogers.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother Ivan Rogers.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Stephanie Collins of Olathe, Kansas and Christine Brandon of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren: Joshua and Kristin Collins and Ashton Brandon; 3 brothers: Jerry Rogers of Cadiz, Clark Leroy Rogers of Canton, and Harry Rogers of Richmond, Ohio.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Rankin Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Harrison County Home, 41500 Cadiz-Dennison Road, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.

Mary Murray Tkac
March 12, 1919 - June 09, 2004
Mary Murray Tkac, 85, of Freeport, formerly of St. Clairsville and Scotland, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. She was born March 12, 1919 on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, a daughter of the late Allen and Matilda Gray Murray.
She was a member of the Tippecanoe Church of the Nazarene and was a retired employee of Bobbie Brooks in Bellaire. During WW II, Mary served as a WAC in the British Air Forces, and met and married Stephen Tkac. He died in 1985.
Surviving are her brother Allen McDonald of Windsor, England; her sister, Isabel McCleod of the Isle of Lewis, Scotland; several nieces and nephews and many devoted friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. Her minister, Rev. James Hauser, will officiate.
Burial will be in Cadiz Union Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Tippecanoe Church of the Nazarene, 79030 Freeport-Tippecanoe Rd., Tippecanoe, Ohio 44699.
