Judith A. Zerbe
Judith A. Zerbe, age 59, died Thursday evening August 23, 2001 at her home in Massillon following an extended illness. She was born in North Canton and had resided in this area most of her life. She was graduated from Green High School in 1959 and was employed for 24 years as dietary supervisor at Rose Lane Health Care Center. Mrs. Zerbe was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Catherine Kinsley; brother, Howard Kinsley. She is survived by two children; ten grandchildren; five brothers and sisters; three step-sisters; one step-brother; her step-mother, Mary Kinsley; and Shadow, her beloved dog. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with her brother-in-law, Rev. Alvin Tanner of Parkersburg, WV, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Sandyville. Calling hours will be Sunday 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Hospice of Summit County, 3358 Richwood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.

Leona M. Mills
Leona M. Mills, age 82, of Louisville, died Friday August 24, 2001, in the McCrea Manor Nursing Center following an extended illness. Daughter of the late Charles and Nora (Unkefer) Betz. She was a life resident of the Robertsville and Louisville areas. Member of the Faith Baptist Church, Hartville. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Mills, July 2, 2001, to whom she was married 61 years; two brothers, Paul and Donald Betz. Survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Mills of Louisville, Terry Mills of Louisville, Robert and Sylvia Mills of Canton, Paul and Pam Mills of Louisville; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Cork Sackett of Louisville; three grandchildren, Joel Mills, Kelli Harter and Taylor Mills; one great-granddaughter, Meghan Harter; two brothers, Luther Betz of Paris and Richard Betz of Robertsville. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. John Tucker officiating. Interment in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends may all Monday one hour before services. (10-11 a.m.) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Faith Baptist Church, 120 Lake St. North, Hartville, OH 44632.

Melvin E. Boston
Melvin E. Boston, age 70, of Hartville, passed away Friday, August 24, 2001 in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Marietta, Ohio on October 31, 1930. He served in the US Army in the Korean Conflict and was awarded The Purple Heart. He married Betty J. Metcalf on February 3, 1956. Melvin was a carpenter for 30 years. His hobbies were playing bingo and spending time with his
grandchildren. He was a brave and kind spirit and will be missed by many. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger D. and Bandy of Marysville, OH, Randall L. and Brian K. and Kellie all of Hartville; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy K. and Richard Stayer of Hartville; 5 grandchildren, Heather ( Jeremy) Wright, Derek Boston, Courtney Miner, Zoe Boston, and Camilla Boston; great-grandson Koby Wright; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Jean Boston of Tallmadge; half-sister, Cindy of WV; half-brother Ed Summers of FL; mother-in-law, Lucille Metcalf of Hartville; and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, step-mother, Sue; sister, Louella, and brother, Ken. The family will receive friends 2-4 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral Services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rick Ragan and Dean Miller officiating. Final Resting Place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

William R. Schmidt
William R. Schmidt, age 71, of North Canton, died unexpectedly Thursday in Aultman Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The complete obituary will appear in Sunday's edition.

Anna Guenther
Anna Guenther, age 88, of North Canton, died Thursday in Altercare of Canton. She was a life member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Survived by he daughter, Joanne Guenther of Sarasota, FL; daughters-in-law, Bonnie Guenther of Canton and Carole Mayse of Coshocton; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Schreiber of North Carolina; brothers, Joseph Frank and Frederick Miller all of Mogadore, and Edward Miller of Cuyahoga Falls. Preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 2000; sons, Richard in 1977; and Daniel in 1992. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. John R. Nentwick officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Randolph, OH. There will be no calling hours.

Benet R. Hermann
Benet R. Hermann. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, North Canton with Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke and Rev. Dr. Donald G. Baird officiating. Burial will be in North Canton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday (today)
2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where an Elks service will also be held Friday at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice, 4510 Dressler Rd., Canton, OH 44718. Arrangements by Karlo Sons Funeral Home.

Betty L. Vincent
Betty L. Vincent. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Janice Strawn officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home Friday (tonight) 6-9 p.m.

Charles R. Bezon, Sr.
Charles R. Bezon Sr., 65, of 665 Klinger Ave. died on Thursday August 23, 2001 at 5:50 a.m. at his home. He was born in Alliance on March 12, 1936 to Peter G. and Eva H. (Ligake) Bezon and had lived in the Alliance area all his life. Serving in the National Guard, he retired from the Automation Department at Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg after 30 years of service. He was previously employed at Morgan Engineering, Alliance Machine and BW Research. He attended the Salvation Army Church and was active in many of their programs. He was also a member of the U.A.W. Local #122, the Kidney Connection Support Group, and On The Wings Of Eagles (an organization helping Jewish immigrants return back to Israel). Survivors include his wife Margaret A. (Packey) Bezon, whom he married on June 6, 1953; several children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister Patricia Reets of Tacoma, WA.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a son Charles R. Bezon, Jr. Private services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 57 W. Main St., Alliance, OH 44601 or to Mercy Hospice, 1320 Mercy Drive NW, Canton, OH 44708.

Donald R. Gloss
Donald Ray Donny Gloss, age 50, of Huntington Beach, CA, formerly of Canton, passed away Tues. Aug. 21, 2001. Born Sept. 1, 1950. He was a much loved father and husband and touched the hearts of everyone he knew. He will be missed every day till we see him again. Preceded in death by mother, Grace Hochstein, Aug. 5, 2001, whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife, Melodee Micky; their children, Stephanie and Gregory Chapanar, Brian and Shannon Gloss and their children; his grandchildren who adored him, Kayli and Gregory Jr. brothers and their wives, Jerry and Sue Gloss of Akron, Mike and Becky Gloss of Dover; his sister, Bert and husband, Bud Ferree; many friends here in Canton and in California who loved him. Services will be held Sat. Aug. 25, 2001 in Huntington Beach, CA. A private memorial service will follow in Canton.

Giovanni Rossi
Giovanni Rossi, age 73, of Canton, passed away early Thursday morning in his home after an extended illness. He was born in Monteneardomo, Italy and has resided in the Canton area for the past 35 years. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a member of Ben Marconi, Sons of Italy Lodge. He was a retired employee of St. Joseph's Church as a custodian for 18 years. Survived by his wife, Aurelia (D'Orazio) Rossi, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on January 24, 2001; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Anthony Piptone of Hudson, OH and Assunta and Robert Traci of Westlake, OH; two brothers, Fedele and Frank Rossi, both of Australia; two sisters, Domenica D'Orazio of Germany and Anna Mattoscio of Italy; three grandchildren, Daniel, David and Marcella Piptone. Preceded in death by his parents, Camillo and Maria (DiRocco) Rossi; a brother, Frank Rossi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Saturday 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday (TONIGHT) 4-8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.

Harry W. Schmuck
Harry W. Schmuck, age 86 of East Canton, passed away Wednesday August 22, 2001 in Aultman Hospital. He was born January 4, 1915 to J. Quinn and Eva (Coy) Schmuck. Mr. Schmuck practiced Law for 59 years, retiring in 1997. Harry was a lifetime resident of East Canton, residing as the third generation on the Schmuck Family Farm in Osnaburg Township. He was a graduate of Osnaburg Local Schools, Mount Union College and Cornell University College of Law. Mr. Schmuck was a member of First United Church of Christ where he served on Consistory and taught Sunday School for the Welcome-In Class. He was also a member of the Stark County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, was a Village Solicitor for East Canton for 30 years and was a director for Consumers National Bank for more than 30 years. Following his retirement in 1997 he provided pro bono legal services for the elderly and individuals with special needs until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth H. Schmuck on February 6, 1996 and was also preceded in death by his son, Harold Schmuck, Jr. and brother Harold C. Schmuck M.D. Survivors include his children, Mary Louise and Atty. James Kandel of Louisville, Elizabeth Ann Bainter of East Canton, Barbara Lynn and Daniel Ellington of East Canton, Harry Schmuck Jr. of Louisville, Pamela Schmuck of East Canton, David Schmuck of East Canton; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, special friend Cora Morris; two loyal friends Blackie and Rocky. Funeral services will be Monday 11 a.m. in First United Church of Christ with Rev. Clark Kandel Jr. and Rev. William Seymour III officiating, Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2–6 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton and one hour prior to the service on Monday
(10-11 a.m.) In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to First United Church of Christ Foundation, 901 E. Tuscarawas Street, Canton, Ohio 44707.

Katherine (McWain-Moore) Claybourne
Katherine (McWain-Moore) Claybourne, age 89 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mrs. Claybourne was born on July 4, 1912 in Selma, AL. She moved to Akron, OH, at a young age, then moving to Canton, where she resided over 75 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Simp and Daisy McWain, husband, George A. Claybourne, sister, Mattie McWain-Hill, brother, Percy McWain, daughter, Bernice L. Moore-Terry-Clayborne, son-in-law, Clarence Clayborne. She was a member of Mt. Calvary 2nd Baptist Church, Shiloh, Antioch, Cherry Ave. Christian Church, known now as Faith United Christian Church, she has been a dedicated member for many years, serving in the choir and Financial Secretary, also. A member of the New Dawn Chapter #80 O.E.S. serving two terms as Worthy Matron, Republican Party of Stark County, Deputy Register, Chairman Urban League Membership Drive, Precinct Committee Woman, United Fund Volunteer, Mother's March of Dimes, S.E. Cancer Drive, Chairman Steering Committee/Lathrop School, Jr. League of Women Candlelight Program, Board of Directors for Legal Aide Society, Canton Welfare Federation, Salvation Army, Social Services Director of the Madison/Lathrop Urban Renewal Center and many other organization in the Stark County area. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughter, Velva Goodwin of Dearborn Heights, MI; son/grandson, Ronald Ronnie A. Claybourne Sr., granddaughter, Darlene A. Terry; great-grandson, Ronald Ronnie A. Claybourne Jr.; great-great-grandson, Isaiah A. Claybourne, all of Canton; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special cousins, Anna Mae Willis, Minnie Cogborn, James McWain Sr., Lake Willis, Ruth Mosley and James Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 25, 2001 at Faith United Christian Church, 3411 Richmond Ave NE., Canton, OH 44705 with Rev. Reuben E. Thompson officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2001, at the church and 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon Eastern Star Services. Family and friends will be received at 1612 11th St SE, Canton, OH 44707.

Lori A. Pritchett
Lori A. Pritchett, age 36, of Canton passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 22, 2001
in Aultman Hospital. Born January 2, 1965 in Canton to Stella (McMasters) Zerbey and the late Paul J. Zerbey. Lori graduated from McKinley High School in 1981 and enjoyed several activities including card playing, camping, sports and a special interest in bingo. Besides her mother she is survived by her husband John W. Pritchett Sr.; three sons, Michael and his fiancée' Debra Becker; David and John Jr. all of the home; sisters and brother-in-law Patricia Zerbey and Genezieve and Blain Miller; brothers and
sisters-in-law Robert and Kim Zerbey; John Howard and Annamarie Zerbey; Special aunt and uncle Ruth and Bill Meers all of Canton. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home with Keith L. Kull officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours are Monday two hours prior to the service from 11:30–1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.

Louis L. Lynn
Louis L. Lynn. Funeral services will be conducted Friday evening at 8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. There will be calling hours at the funeral home two hours before services on Friday evening 6-8 p.m. A graveside service and burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, PA.
