Louis Trikilas
Louis Trikilas, age 77, of Canton, died Thursday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center, after an extended illness. Born in Canton, he was a graduate of McKinley High School. An Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Trikilas was retired from White Engines. A member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Margaret) Stafford and Mrs. Thomas (Catherine) Addessi both of Canton; two sons, Sam (Deborah) Trikilas and Tony Trikilas of Canton; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lefter (Christina) Eframedes, Helen Trikilas, and Elizabeth Bargides all of Canton; friend, Georgia Wacker also of Canton. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. John Stavropoulos officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Friday (Tonight) from 5-8 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., NW. Trisagion Service will be at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: American Diabetes Assoc., 225 W. Exchange St., Akron, OH 44302.

Louise Thomas
Louise Thomas, age 94, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2001 in St. Joseph Care Center, Louisville. Louise was born October 26, 1906 in Albania to the late Athanasios and Katherine (Prokos) Ekonomu. She was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Canton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Steve Thomas in 1956; one daughter, Dorothy Thomas; one son, William Thomas; a stepson, George Thomas. Survived by one son, Michael Thomas of Canton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Michael Pastrikos officiating. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home, Louisville. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Care Center or St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church Endowment Fund.

Myra E. Willer
Myra E. Willer, age 91, of Canton, went to meet her maker on Wednesday morning. She is now reunited with her husband, Fred Willer and son, Warren Victor Willer. A native of Wauwatosa, WI, she was member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. Survived by her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Grace Willer; grandchildren, Bonnie Ninham, Lorel Molder, Daniel Willer; seven great grandchildren, Damon and Capri Ninham, Amberay Molder, Nicole, Michelle, Danielle and Kimley Willer; sister-in-law, Peg Edwards; nephew, Todd Edwards and his family; and many other relatives and friends. Private services will be held.

Verna B. Swain
Verna B. Swain. Friends may call Friday (today) 5-8 p.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home Hartville and one hour prior to services Saturday (10-11 a.m.) in the church. Funeral Services will be Saturday 11 a.m. in the Hartville Church of the Brethren with Pastor Peter C. Kaltenbaugh II officiating. Final Resting Place is East Nimishillen Church Cemetery. Bernice J. Hodge
Bernice J. Hodge, age 80 of Canton, OH., passed away Monday evening in the Arbors of Canton following an extended illness. Born in Canton on April 12, 1921 she was a retired employee of the I.G. Harmon Co. in Canton, retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Hodge who passed away February 15, 1990; and a son, Patrick D. Hodge who passed away July 21, 1991. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Ray C. and Bev Hodge of Alliance, OH., and John Hodge of Massillon. There are nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; her brother, Chester Lasky of Grass Valley, CA; her aunt and uncle, Stella and Don Dirusio of North Canton and Sophie Norman of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton with Fr. Nicholas J. Mancini as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home on Thursday evening 7-9 p.m.

Brian C. Kmetz
Brian C. Kmetz, age 28, of North Canton died Monday in Aultman Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer since December of 1990. He graduated from Glen Oak High School in 1991, Indiana University Business School in 1995 and Illinois University Law School in 1998. He was a practicing attorney with Chapman and Cutler in Chicago from 1998-1999, and a floor trader on the Chicago Board of Options Exchange in 1999. He was a member of Acacia Fraternity, Illinois State Bar Association, and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in North Canton. Survived by his parents, Dr. George and Doris Kmetz with whom he made his home; brother, Eric J. Kmetz of Los Angeles, CA; grandfather, Wesley G. Kmetz of Crown Point, IN; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by grandparents, Lorraine Kmetz of Crown Point, IN, and Theodore and Irene Wollgast of St. Louis, MO. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in Math Hermann Son Funeral Home, 10212 Hall Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63136 with Pastor Paul Kiehl officiating. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Locally, friends may call at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd, NW Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Fund, 925 S. Main St., North Canton, OH 44720.

Bryan A. Newman
Bryan A. Newman. The family will receive friends Wednesday (today) 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kaufman Center in Hartville, where services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Mohlmaster officiating. Burial in Mount Peace Cemetery, Hartville. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Wishes Can Happen, PO Box 9428, Canton, OH 44711.

Catherine I. Morrison
Catherine I. Morrison, 86, passed away August 26, 2001. Born in Akron, Catherine lived in he area all her life. She was employed at Greyhound as a switchboard operator and was a member of Post Polio Club and The China Painting Mud Hens. Catherine was a great person and friend. She was very independent and strong willed having contracted polio at the age of one. Preceded in death by her husband, Bryan who died defending our country during the Korean Conflict, parents, Charles and Bertha Eisenhart, and brother, Charles Eisenhart. She is survived by great nephew, Bryan (Angela) Marcelli; great-great-nieces and nephews, Michaela, Lucas, Marissa and Victor; many loving friends and her three cats, Trixie, Kitty Cal and Sheba. Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m. Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron. Burial at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one-hour prior to service time.

Charles S. Gelal, Jr.
Charles S. Gelal, Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church which he was member, with Msgr. John Finnigan as celebrant. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. There will be a wake service at 4:45 p.m. in the funeral home.

D. Evelyn Martin
D. Evelyn (Kline-Daniels) Martin. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Rittman Grace Brethren Church, 44 South First St., Rittman, OH with Rev. Bud Olszewski officating. Burial will in Lodi Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 7-9 p.m. in Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Rd. SW, Canton and at the Church one hour prior to the services Thursday 12 Noon-1 p.m.

Irene Blakeney
Irene Blakeney, was born on September 22, 1924 in Texarkana, TX. She relocated to Canton, OH in the early 40's
where she settled and worked for the Luntz Family and Brookside Country Club for over 30 years. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Choir, Women's Chorus, Ladies Usher Board; Women's Auxiliary, Kitchen Committee. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel and Pearl Dillard, Sr.; brother, Sam Dillard, Jr.; nephew, Sam Dillard III; daughter, Gloristine Miller. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband, Buster Blakeney; sons, James Blakeney, of Canton, OH, Elder David Williams of Wilson, NC; twins, Rosemary and Roosevelt Birl of Canton, OH; sister, Juanita Dillard; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins; nieces and nephews and friends. Services will be held Friday, August 31, 2001 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 700 Market Ave S., Canton, with calling hours Thursday 7-9 p.m. Calling hours Friday from 12 Noon until time of service at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Lawson, officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Services entrusted to Rhoden Memorial Home.

James A. Shonts
James A. Shonts, age 62, of Canton, OH, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening at the home. Born in Canton on July 29, 1939 he was a 1960 graduate of Central High School and a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired meat cutter for Fisher Foods, retiring August 1, 2001 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3747 and his favorite hobby was riding his Goldwing Motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Josephine Shonts; and a sister, Margaret Wingerter. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Shonts of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, June and Randy Evans of Summerville, SC; daughter, Jennifer Shonts of Canton and his son, James A. Shonts of Holly Hill, FL; five grandchildren, Robbie Dine, Ryan Evans, Alexandria Evans, Austin Evans and Marcel Garrett; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Shonts; and sister, Ruth Shonts all of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Fr. Joseph Ruggieri officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Thursday evening 7-9 p.m.

Joseph Bradley Bosler. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton, with Pastor Andrew Hamilton officiating. Interment in Center Church Cemetery. Mable Biggums
Mable Biggums, age 69, of Waynesburg, went home to God Almighty on Friday, August 24, 2001, following a brief illness. She was born on June 28, 1932, in Canton, OH. She was the daughter of the late, John and Lettie (Floyd) Williams Sr. She lived most of her life in Waynesburg, OH, and attended Macedonia Baptist Church. She retired from T.R.W. Inc., after ten years of service. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Williams Jr., Willie Williams, two sisters, Clair Williams and Lucille Williams. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bernard Biggums Sr.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bernard (Georgia) Biggums Jr. of Canton, Brad (Renee) Biggums of Waynesburg, OH; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy (Gary) McPherson of Massillon; six grandchildren, Candice and Samara Biggums of Waynesburg, OH, Caitlin McPherson of Massillon, OH, Jennifer (Marco) Mastrocoli of Canton, OH, Joseph McCarthan II and Lindsay McCarthan of Canton; four great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Ella (John) White of Norton, OH, Helen Hill of Canton, OH, Gwen (Rev. Henry) Jordan of Akron, Madeline Early of Anchorage, AK, Shirley Harris, Betty Williams, Cheryl Williams, All of Canton; four brothers, Rev. Clarence (Dorothy) Williams of Geneva, NY, Jimmy Williams of Canton, Tommy (Jackie) Williams of Canton, David Williams of Houston, TX and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2001, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 220 Maple St., Waynesburg, OH 44688, with Rev. James McWain Jr. officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery, Waynesburg, OH. Calling hours 12 Noon-1 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2001 at the church. Maralee Reno
Maralee Reno, age 73, of Canton, OH, formerly of Amma, WV, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 after a brief illness. She was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple, Canton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Reno; parents, kenna Shelton Carpeter and Hattie Fay Paxton Carper; brothers, William Melda Carper, French Ray Carper and Harold Carper; sister, Phyllis Jane Kendall and Betty Ann Carper. She is survived by sisters, Minnie Hope Burdette of Canton, OH, and Catherine M. O'Brien of Hartville, OH; nine nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 at the Amma Cemetery with the Rev. Denny Hazen officiating. Friends may call from Thursday August 30, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. at Matics Funeral Home,Clendenin, WV.

Margaret P. Scaglione
Margaret P. Scaglione, age 74, a resident of Meadow Wind Health Care Center, passed away there Tuesday morning. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Robert and Florence Mock Russell, and was a life resident of the area. Margaret was Pres. of the Resident Council at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. Survived by her daughter, Cindy Scaglione-Thomas, and her fiance, Walter Zartman, of Massillon; two grandchildren, Daniel Unsworth and his fiancee, Bernadette Ayers, of Canton, and Gina Unsworth-Scott, of N. Canton; three great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Alix Unsworth, and Taylor Scott; and her beloved cat, Tai-Tai. Services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Gary A. Smith officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Friday from 12-1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Scaglione's memory may be made to her family to help defray funeral expenses.
