William M. Webster
Died: Wednesday, October 15, 2003
Age: 95

William M. Webster, 95, of Sandusky, died early Wednesday morning in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky. He was born April 22, 1908 in Powell, Ohio to the late William G. and Iva (Freese) Webster and lived most of his life in Beavercreek before moving to this area in 1995.

He was a member of the Beavercreek United Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II and was a retired Lt. Col. U.S. Army Reserve. He graduated from Ohio State University, College of Engineering in 1930. He was a former employee of General Electric in Schenectady, New York, B.F. Goodrich Company in Akron, the Standard Register Paper Company in Dayton and Goodwill Industries in Akron and Dayton. He was the civilian liason for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for 17 years, retiring in 1970. He was a former Boy Scout leader and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and was an accomplished cabinet maker.

He is survived by his son, William S. Webster of Northboro, MA., and by his daughter, Susan L. McGimpsey of Milan. Five Grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, James Webster of Delaware, OH., and by his sisters, Gertrude Burton of Marion, OH., Margaret Smith of Ashville, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Lamar Sprigg Webster in 1996, by his brother, Elwin Webster and by his sisters, Florence Ptak, Bernice Wardell, Marian Farley, Enid Bent and Eileen Macklin.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m., which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in the Gebhart-Schmidt icon Parramore Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden, Miamisburg, OH., with the Rev. Mark Damschroder officiating. Burial will be in the Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hawker United Church of Christ Capital Fund, 61 N. Longview Dr., Beavercreek, OH., 45432.

Florence Eleanor Millhouse
Died: Tuesday, October 14, 2003
Age: 86

Florence Eleanor Millhouse, 86, of Fairborn passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1916 in Fulton, Kentucky to James and Florence (Conn) Pickle.

She is survived by her daughters Pamela Millhouse of Fairborn and Marilyn Pickett and her husband Jeff of New Carlisle; son Larry Millhouse and his wife Dallari of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren Christina Wardley, Bryan Knecht and his wife Tammi, and Lucas Millhouse; great-grandchildren Amanda Check, Cameron Wardley, Tiffany Smith, Courtney Knecht, Ryan Barnett and Kati Knecht and two sisters, Sarah Pfiefer of Kansas and Imogene Barham of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry K. Millhouse and two sisters and five brothers.

Friends may call at the First Church of Christ, 206 W. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn on Friday October 17, 2003 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:30 p.m. with Minister Jim Gibson officiating.

Interment will be at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Florence’s memory to the First Church of Christ.

Claudine Jones
Died: Sunday, October 12, 2003
Age: 79

Claudine Jones, 79, of Middletown, formerly of Fairborn, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Kettering Medical Center.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Jones of Middletown; two sons, Barry and Elaine Jones of Littleton, Colo., and Wesley and Barbara Jones of Round Rock, Texas; three grandchildren, Kyle and Emily Jones, Eric and Amy Jones and Amy and Jim Tim Kate; great-granddaughter, Hannah Butler-Tim Kate; sister, Estelle Eckert of Escondito, Calif., and brother, Leon King of Canyon Country, Calif.

Funeral services will be held in Denver, Colo., with interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hipple Cancer Research Center, 4100 Kettering Blvd., Kettering 45439.

Leonard Dean Griever
Died: Sunday, October 12, 2003
Age: 67

Leonard Dean Griever, age 67 of Fairborn, died Sunday October 12, 2003 at Miami Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Griever. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Mary Ellen Griever of Georgia and Richard & Tracy Griever of Arizona. One sister and brother-in-law, Mildred & Ron Yrjanson of Mississippi and a brother and sister-in-law, Gordon & Wilma Griever of Huber Heights, and three grandchildren: Kristie, Nicholas and Jennifer Griever. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Leonard is a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from the City of Fairborn after 35 years of service. No services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio.

Marylee Shaw
Died: Sunday, October 12, 2003
Age: 75

Marylee Shaw, 75, of Cedarville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 12, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1928 in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul B. Shaw; two daughters, Sandy Shaw of Cedarville and Cindy Adams (Steve) of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Jared, Kelly and Karla Adams; special sister-in-law, Betty Boren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Shaw; her parents, George and Dorothy Boren and a brother, Richard Boren.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Ingling Williams Funeral Home, 33 W. Xenia Ave. Cedarville.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 16, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in North Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to A Special Wish Foundation.

Phillip K. Stephens
Died: Saturday, October 11, 2003
Age: 54

Phillip K. Stephens, 54, of Spring Valley, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2003, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gail. His children also survive him: son Phillip Stephens II and wife Susan of Springboro and daughter Lisa Stephens of Waynesville, as well as granddaughter Macy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred, and his father-in-law, Richard "Chick" Cooper.

His father, Ronald W. Stephens, and his longtime companion, Eileen Lucke, survive him, as do his brothers, Keith and wife Francesca of Miami, Fla., as well as Douglas and wife Becky with their daughter Emma of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Estelle Cooper-Dixon, and her husband, Ray Dixon, sister-in-law Betty Daggitt and husband Mike and their children, Susan and Michael of Reston, Va.; his closest uncles: George Stephens and wife Virginia of West Chester, Ohio, Gayle Stephens of Xenia, Billie Smith and wife Evelyn of Columbus and Stanley Szczep.

He is also survived by many longtime friends, Mike and Janet Moler, Bob and Sandi Collard, Mike and Belinda Glaunsinger, Jay and Shirley Ralston and scores of other friends and relatives too numerous to mention.

Phil was the president and CEO of Stephens Advertising and was a former member of the U.S. National Guard He was the owner, along with his wife Gail, of Saguaro Ranch and was a member of the AQHA and APHA. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and enjoyed nature. He was a staunch supporter of many humanitarian causes that included animal protection and aiding those who are less fortunate. He always gave more than he took.

Funeral services will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church on Thursday, October 16, 2003, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road on Wednesday, October 15, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Interment will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Flannah’s Treasure Chest, 6366 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45459.

Phillip K. Stephens
Died: Saturday, October 11, 2003
Age: 54

Phillip K. Stephens, 54, of Spring Valley, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2003, at his residence.
