THERESA HANSON
Theresa Hanson, 84, Nelsonville, died Wednesday, May 10 at Pine Hills Continuing Care Center, Nelsonville.
Born Dec. 29, 1915 in Bicknell, Ind., daughter of the late Frances and Dora Deal Barrett, she was the widow of Elwood Hanson.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 today at the funeral home.

RACHEL E, SPENCER
Rachel E. Spencer, 79, New Straitsville, died Tuesday, May 9 at her residence.
Born Oct. 13, 1920, in Millertown, daughter of the late Fred and Tressa Duncan, she was the widow of Stanley Spencer.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Rollen (Shelbie) Cook, Mrs. Joe (Mabel) Guisinger, Mrs. Aaron (Wanda) Huston, all of New Straitsville, Ms. Tempa Shover and friend, Richard Bruce, both of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Donald (Sandra) Corp of Corning; five sons, Richard Spencer, Larry (Peg) Spencer, Robert (Patricia) Spencer, Gerald (Joyce) Spencer, all of New Straitsville, and Albert (Patty) Spencer of Junction City; two sisters, Gladys Slatzer of Logan and Juanita Rowe of Riverview, Mich.; one brother, Harold Duncan of Homer, Mich.; 42 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Dwight Spencer; one daughter, Mary Spencer; three brothers, Paul, Eldon, and Chester Duncan; one sister, Hesther Duncan; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Shawnee, with Pastor David Helser officiating.
Interment will be in New Straitsville cemetery.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Genesis, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701-9963.

MARVIN M. WINCHELL
Marvin M. Winchell, 72, Nelsonville died Thursday, May 11 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville.
Born Sept. 1, 1927, Old Floodwood, son of the late Ruben and Viola Coleman Winchell, he was the widower of the late Juanita Smith Winchell.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Marilyn Crum officiating.
Interment will be in Green Lawn cemetery, Nelsonville
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family in attendance from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.

HAROLD J. CARSEY
Harold J. "Mutt" Carsey, 75, Millfield, died Saturday, May 13 at Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville.
Born Jan. 14, 1925, Crown, West Virginia, son of the late Joseph and Ethel Cullison Carsey, he was married to Bonnie Robinette Carsey, who survives.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville with special friend, the Rev. William Hunter, officiating.
Interment will be in Hilltop cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Wednesday at the funeral home.

HOMER BARTLETT WELCH
Homer Bartlett "Bart" Welch, 29, Chauncey, died Saturday, May 13 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens.
Born July 6, 1970, he was the son of the late Raymond Welch and Rose Mae Webb Welch.
Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
At the request of the family, he will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.

THOMAS LEE GREY
Thomas Lee Grey, 63, Bucyrus, died Saturday, May 13 at his residence after an extended illness.
Born Aug. 22, 1936, son of Margaret E. McGreavy Grey of Logan and the late Charles Thomas Grey, he was married to Karen Jean Ostermyer, who survives.
Retired from Farmers State Bank, he was the manager of Country Mark, Inc. for 30 years and graduated from New Lexington High School and Meridith Business College in Zanesville. He was baptized at Junction City St. Patrick's Catholic Church and attended Nazareth Lutheran Church.
Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. John (Kay Marie Grey) Houpt of Cincinnati; a son, Kevin Charles Grey of the home; and a brother, John "Jack" (Alice) Grey of Lancaster.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wise Funeral Home, Bucyrus, with the Rev. Mark Booster of Nazareth Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Nazareth Lutheran cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.

EVERETT J. HOLDREN
Everett J. "Jim" Holdren, 65, Logan, died Sunday, May 14 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born July 12, 1934, Union Furnace, son of the late John and Gladys Hall Holdren, he was married to Helen F. Wycuff Holdren, who survives.
He retired from Carborundum after 26 1/2 years of service and was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge.
Also surviving are two sons, James Lawrence (Cathleen) Holdren of Logan and Jeffrey A. Holdren of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Karen Ann Rager of Nelsonville and Mrs. Lucius (Pamela Jane) Hart of Logan; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Charles L. (Nellie) Holdren and Joseph R. Holdren, both of Columbus, Robert (Nellie) Holdren of Bristol, Tenn., Willard A. Holdren of Buckeye Lake, David W. (Carol) Holdren of Orrville and Dale Lee (Marilyn) Holdren of Logan; and five sisters, Mary E. Jones, Alice P. Keplar, and Phyllis "Sue" Scott, all of Orrville, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy I.) Jones of Marshallville and Gayle L. Green of South Carolina.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, John E. Holdren and parents-in-law, Lawrence and Stella Wycuff.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. King Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Knollwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Wednesday at the funeral home.

LUCILLE KINSER
Lucille Maye "Lucy" Kinser, 56, Riverside, died Sunday, May 14 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, after a 33-year battle with multiple schlerosis.
Born Jan. 18, 1944, Logan, daughter of Richard Ellsworth McGrath of Logan and the late Eleanor Juanita (Briley) McGrath, she was married to Harry Burton Kinser, who survives.
A homemaker and member of the Community United Methodist Church in Riverside, she also was a former member of the Logan Scenic Lanes Ladies' Bowling League.
Also surviving are a son, Harry Kelley (Sharon) Kinser of Urbana; a daughter, Nancy Jane (Kinser) Farmer of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Linda Marlene) Lanning of Cincinnati and Mrs. James (Ruth Eileen) Lanning of Columbus; a brother, Robert Briley McGrath of Upper Sandusky; and grandchildren, Learic Nicole Kinser and Kelley Jordan Kinser, both of Urbana.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard E. Lanning officiating.
Burial will be in Dawley Wood cemetery, Falls Township, Hocking County.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Wednesday at the funeral home.

DONALD RAY DAVIS
Donald Ray Davis, 58, Logan, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 16 in the emergency room at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Born October 22, 1941, Logan, son of the late James Kamden and Elsie Sayre Davis, he was married to Texas Ruby Malone Davis, who survives.
He was a heavy-equipment operator.
Also surviving are a son, Robert Dean (Donna) Davis, of Logan; four daughters, Downa Ray Malone, Crystal Lynn Davis, Mrs. Jeremy (Kandy Jo) Giffin, all of Logan and Mrs. Kevin (Tracy Sue) Jackson of Sugar Grove; four brothers; three sisters; seven grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Edward Davis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Roberts Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Heskett officiating.
Burial will be in Shaw cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

B. JUANITA LOGAN
B. Juanita "Mickey" Logan, 79, formerly of Findlay, died Wednesday, May 17 at the J.F. Schaefer Care Center.
Born March 23, 1921, New Floodwood, Ohio, daughter of the late Guy H. and Mary Ann Stillwell Hunter, she was the widow of Franklin Logan.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay with Chaplain Mike Thompson officiating.
Entombment will be 3 p.m. Friday in Greenlawn cemetery Mausoleum, Nelsonville.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Respite Care Society, P.O. Box 113, Findlay, Ohio 45839-0113.

KATHY ANN BARNETT
Kathy Ann Barnett, 41, Logan, died Thursday, May 19 at her residence.
Born June 18, 1958, Logan, she was the daughter of James R. "Bob" and Mary Ann "Nan" Geiger King.
A Logan High School graduate, she attended Denison University and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. She worked as a registered pharmacist in Houston, Texas; Cumberland, Maryland; and in Logan at Risch Drug Store.
Also surviving are a son, Daniel Barnett of the home; three brothers, Kurt (Colleen) King of St. Lucie, Fla., Kris King of Cincinnati and Kreg King of Cincinnati; and two sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Kim) Miller of Logan and Mrs. Jason (Kerri) Pollet of Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Gary Wheeler officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Hocking County, P.O. Box 527, Logan, Ohio 43138.

FLORENCE CHALFANT
Florence Chalfant, 82, Jacksonville, died Friday, May 19 at her residence.
Born Oct. 28, 1917, Murray City, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Edith Lewis Kidd.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Jacksonville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jane Doughton officiating.
Interment will be in Taylor Ridge cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 Sunday at Cardaras Funeral Home, Glouster, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
VFW Auxiliary services will be held 7 p.m. Sunday and Eagles Auxiliary services will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday, both at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made in her memory to Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice and Health Services, P.O. Box 768, Athens, Ohio 45701.
