Georgia Plumb Bollmann

Georgia Plumb Bollmann, 87 of Chillicothe, formerly of Lorain went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Traditions At Chillicothe Care Center following a long illness.
Mrs. Bollmann was born in Wilson, New York on March 19, 1921, the daughter of the late George Herbert and Lily Mae (nee Adams) Plumb. She lived in Lorain from 1962 until moving to Chillicothe to be near her daughter in 2002. She was a longtime member St. John United Church of Christ while living in Lorain. She was a homemaker.
She was a former instructor at Lorain YMCA, Past President of the PTA for PS 24, and President of Lorain County Art League. She enjoyed sewing and knitting as her hobbies but spending time with her family was her most enjoyable pastime.

Mrs. Bollmann is survived by her daughter Susan (Stephen) Wright of Chillicothe, son Arthur G (Kay) Bollmann of Buffalo, NY, grandchildren Arthur P. Bollmann, Sarah Kerry and Emily Wright and a great grandson Aiden Kerry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Bollmann in 2001, sisters Violet Giddings, Mabel Sawyer, brother George Plumb and a daughter-in-law Phyllis Bollmann.
Graveside services will be at Acacia Park cemetery in the Acacia Park cemetery, 4215 Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda, NY, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Rev. Dr. Stephen M. Austin, pastor of the St. Stephens-Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Buffalo will officiate.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio is handling the arrangements.

Mary Rose Burgan

Mary Rose Burgan, 90, (nee Toth) of Elyria and formerly of Lorain died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a brief illness.
Mrs. Burgan was born in Lorain on June 8, 1918, the daughter of the late George and Mary (nee Mesko) Toth. She was a member of the Tower Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Burgan volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader and was an active participant in the arts and crafts programs at the Wesleyan Village. She had been employed many years ago at the J C Penny Store as a sales clerk.
She is survived by a brother John (Joyce) Toth of Garden City, MI. and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 1:30 PM in the Wesleyan Village Chapel, 807 West Ave. Elyria, with Chaplain Beth McKee and the Rev. Dalton Love officiating.
Burial will be in the Brookdale cemetery, Elyria.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Village, 807 West Ave., Elyria, Ohio 44035.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain is handling the arrangements.

Eileen Choate

Eileen Choate, 82, (nee Howe) of Lorain died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village in Lorain following a long illness.
Mrs. Choate was born in Knoxville, PA on May 30, 1926 the daughter of the late Dallas and Edrica (nee Weaver) Howe. She graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville in 1944. She continued her education at the Elim Bible College in Hornell, New York becoming an ordained minister in 1947.
She moved to Lorain and served the Wings of Faith Church, she continued her ministry when her church merged with the Bethel Church of Lorain. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Mrs. Choate is survived by her daughters, Patricia (David) Akosi of Lorain, Donna F (Mike) Cobos of Avon Lake, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, brothers, Roy (Clara) Howe of Lawrenceville, PA, Richard (Elizabeth) Howe of Elkland, PA, Larry Howe of Horseheads, NY, and a sister Joan (Joe) Orth of Westfield, PA.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fulton "Frenchie" Choate in 1992, a daughter Gloria J Miller in 2008, a grandson Christobal Cobos in 1991, and sister Berta Latshaw.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 4-8 PM in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services will be in the funeral home on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Lorri Bandagski, pastor of the Bethel Chapel, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon Lake.

Randall W. Colley

Randall W. (Randy) Colley, 53 of Lorain died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mr. Colley was born in Elyria on June 20, 1954. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
He was a graduate of Lorain Admiral King High School in 1974. He served in the US Army as a E-4 during the Vietnam War era. He was stationed in Germany. He was a member of American Legion Post 30. An avid gun enthusiast, he was a member of National Rifle Association. He was also a World War II History buff and enjoyed learning about airplanes.
He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church in Sheffield.
He worked as a material handler at Genei Plastic Recycling Elyria for 3 years and prior to that worked at the American Crucible for 14 years. He also had been employed at Ceva Logistics.
He is survived by his daughter Madison A. Colley of Lorain, his mother Bertha I. (Bea) (nee Sprinkle) Colley Williams, brothers George D. (Dennis) Colley, Timothy W. (Tim) Colley both of Lorain, his fiancee Linda J. Nagy of Lorain, niece Melissa R. Colley, and nephew Dennis L. Colley.
Mr. Colley was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie L. (nee Demich) Colley in 1998, his father George J. Colley, a sister Lisa Williams, and his stepfather Ray H. Williams.
Friends may call Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 with Deacon David Lumadue of the new Haven Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be Monday, March 3, 2008 Huntington cemetery in Huntington Township.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Colley Benefit Trust at any Lorain National Bank branch.

Beatrice A. Damron

Beatrice A. Damron, 61 (nee Smith) of Lorain died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Community Health Partners Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mrs. Damron was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 15, 1946, the daughter of the late Lenard Eugene and Donna Mae (nee Duffield) Smith. She lived the majority of her life in Lorain.
She was a homemaker and collected stuffed animals.
Mrs. Damron is survived by a daughter Bernice D DeKam of Elyria, a son Robert C Damron of Roanoke, VA, grandsons Michael R. Bond, John N. DeKam both of Elyria, granddaughter Robin F. Damron of Elyria, and a sister Karen Bolen of Oak Hills, West Virginia.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services in the funeral home will follow visitation at 1:00 PM on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery.

Anna Dombrowski

Anna (nee Ferencz) Dombrowski, 85 of Sheffield Township passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Denise's Adult Care in Lorain following a long illness.
Mrs. Dombrowski was born in Sheffield Township, OH on June 21, 1922 and was a lifetime resident of the Sheffield Township area.
She was a graduate of Clearview High School in 1939, Lorain Business College, and then attended classes at both Lorain County Community College and Kent State University
She was a lifetime member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Lorain, Ohio.
Mrs. Dombrowski worked for 9 years as executive secretary for the superintendent of Clearview Board of Education and retired as clerk-treasurer at Clearview Board of Education after 15 years of service.
She was an avid reader of all genres, enjoyed gardening, music, baking and cooking. She was a caregiver for her mother and grandchildren.
Mrs. Dombrowski is survived by a daughter Maria E ( Lawrence) Burgett of Lorain, two granddaughters Amanda C. Burgett of Fairview Park and Anne M. (Paul) Schwartz of Mentor-on-the-Lake, sisters Irene Kacsandi of Sheffield Village, and Ethel Bozik of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Dombrowski in 2003, son Michael J Dombrowski Jr. in 1959, her parents John and Anna (nee Holinda) Ferencz, a sister Margaret Schremp, and a brother Robert Ferencz.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Parastas will be at 7:00 PM.
Panachida will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain with Father Nicholas Rachford, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Lorain.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44053 or donor's choice.

Robert Anthony Ewers

Robert Anthony Ewers, 18 of Lorain passed away on Wednesday, Jan 23, 2008 at his home unexpectedly.
Bob was born in Lorain, OH on July 13, 1989. He was a Clearview High School graduate of the Class of 2007, He attended his freshman year at Lorain Catholic High School and was currently a freshman at Lorain County Community College.
He was a member of St. Mary Church where he served as an altar server. He had been a member of the Youth Ministry program.
Bob was athletic and enjoyed water skiing, swimming, fishing and camping. He played 3 years basketball at Clearview and both basketball and baseball during his freshman year at Lorain Catholic.
He was employed as a host at Applebee's at Avon Commons for 2 years. He helped and enjoyed learning home improvement at home helping his family.
He enjoyed playing X-Box, music and spending time with family and friends. Bob was best known for his quick smile, gentle spirit, good nature and sense of humor.
He was loved by his parents William (Bill) and Martina (Tina) (nee Bajuk) Ewers, sisters Mary Christine Ewers, Elizabeth A Ewers both of Lorain, his grandparents Martina and John Woelfl of Huron, the late Judge Robert and Helen Ewers, aunts and uncles Deborah Ewers of Lorain, Dr. Susan (Dr. David) Ewers Pelini of Houston, TX, Katherine (Michael) Ewers Passalacqua of Bay Village, Mary Ellen (Lee) Ewers-Pena Avon Lake, Judge Raymond (Mayra) Ewers of Lorain, Louis (Karen) Bajuk of Seattle, WA and Wolgang Woelfl of Middleburg Heights., cousins: Charles, Nicholas, Anthony, John, Sarah, Maria, Louis, Dominic, James, David, Greg and Nichole.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Sunday and Monday , Jan 27 & 28 , 2008 from 2-9, with family present from 2-4 & 7-9 PM both days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Jan 29, 2008 at 10:00 in St. Mary Church, Eighth and Reid Avenues, in Lorain with Father Daniel O. Divis, pastor as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery Lorain, OH.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Heart House, 309 7th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 or Blessing House, 5440 Grove Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44055.
