James Henderson
James Leo Henderson, 85, formerly of Circleville, died Sept. 18, 2003, in Fort Myers, Fla.
He was born March 27, 1918, in Junction City, to Leo and Elizabeth Moore Henderson. He married Margaret Ann Phillips, who is deceased.
Also surviving are two sons, Jerry (Leslie) of Pickerington and Michael of Circleville; two daughters, Tami (Paul) Phillips, Reynoldsburg, and Lisa (Jim) Holloway, Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Myers, Celina; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A son, James Leo II, is deceased.
He retired as director of claims and the claims training center for Nationwide Insurance Co. in Columbus after 37 years of service. He served with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division and was a prisoner of war for several months after the glider on which he was riding was shot down over Holland. He graduated from Circleville High School and Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Circleville, and a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Fla., where he had been a lector, a past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts.
Memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Circleville.

L. Louise Keuneke
L. Louise Keuneke, 78, 7139 Van Wert-Mercer County Line Road, Rockford, died at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 8, 2003, at her residence.
She was born April 20, 1925, in Van Wert, to David Sylvester and Maude Pearl Mauller Heckert. On Sept. 19, 1942, she married Erwin Karl Keuneke who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John E. (Kathy) and David W. (Debra), all of Rockford; two daughters, Linda (David) Leighner, Rockford, and Donna of Ohio City; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Edward, and a brother, James Heckert.
She was a homemaker and a volunteer at Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing Home, Rockford. She was a member of Olive Branch Church of God and the Ohio City American Legion Auxiliary.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., the Rev. Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will follow at Protestant Evangelical Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, the church or the Diabetes Association.

Mabel Miller
Mabel E. Miller, 82, of Willshire, died at 3:36 p.m. Oct. 6, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1921, in Adams County, Ind., to Chauncey O. and Mary Mae Julian Manley. On Oct. 14, 1939, she married Harold J. Miller who died March 24, 1969.
Surviving are three sons, Merrill J. (Sally) of Bluffton, Ind., Rex E. (Dee) of Willshire, and Donald L. (Susan) of Rockford; three daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Agler, Lewisburg, Tenn., Rose (James) Pierstorff, Rockford; Mary C. (Archie) Hill, Huntertown, Ind.; three brothers, Glen and Kenneth Manley, both of Decatur, Ind., and Lester Manley, Monroe, Ind.; five sisters, Edna Manley, Berne, Mildred Wolf, Pleasant Mills, Ind., Velma (Jim) Penrod, Bluffton, Ind., Lois Kaufman, Leipsic, and Marcile (Leonard) King, Decatur; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Richard Manley; three sisters, Violet Roe, Jean Cook and Esther Cook; and a great-granddaughter.
She retired from General Electric in 1982 after 22 years of service. She was a member of Willshire United Methodist Church.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. William Simms officiating. Burial will follow at Willshire Cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruth Wendel
Ruth B. Wendel, 55, 874 St. Joe Road, Fort Recovery, died at 4:32 p.m. Oct. 8 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 22, 1948, in Celina, to Hugo and Matilda Keller Fullenkamp. On Nov. 27, 1975, she married Dale Wendel who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jason of Muncie, Ind., and Michael of Cincinnati; a daughter, Emily of Fort Recovery; six brothers, Ralph, Martin, Loren and Matthew (Deb), all of Fort Recovery, Roman (Marlene) of Bryant, Ind., and Luke (Sharon) of Portland; and five sisters, Madonna (Leland) Sinks, Farmersville, Anna Marie (Ken) Brunswick, Bryant, Eileen (Don) Hoying, Greenville, Karen (Lester) Berning, Sidney, and Sylvia (Matthew) Stammen, Coldwater.
Other survivors include her mother-in-law, Laura Wendel, Fort Recovery; a brother-in-law, Terry (Mildred) Wendel, Harold, Ky.; and a sister-in-law, Lillian (Larry) Heitkamp, St. Marys.
A sister-in-law, Onalee Fullenkamp, is deceased.
She was a kindergarten teacher at St. Henry Elementary School. A 1966 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, she received a master's degree in education from Wright State University, Dayton.
She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of Fort Recovery. She had served as a Band Booster officer and a 4-H adviser.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A prayer service will be held there at 3:30 p.m.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.

Rita Fogle
St. Rose native Rita L. Fogle, 86, 809 Plover Lane, Clayton, died at 7:15 p.m. Oct. 7, 2003, at St. Leonard Health Center, Dayton.
She was born May 20, 1917, in St. Rose, to Vincent and Mathilda Reinhard Lochtefeld. On Nov. 24, 1962, she married Walter F. Fogle who is deceased.
Surviving are four stepsons, Forrest (Sandy) and Charles, all of Dayton, David (Theresa) of Clayton and Walter Jr. (Karen) of Washington; a stepdaughter, Veda DeGrost, Farmersville; a brother, Richard (Luella) Lochtefeld, St. Rose; and a sister, Ruth Bender, Fort Loramie.
Deceased are a stepson, Mark; two brothers, Aloys and the Rev. Tobias Lochtefeld; and two sisters, Rosemary and Agnes Lochtefeld.
She retired from Frigidaire in Dayton. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Golden Agers and the Good Samaritan Hospital Volunteers, all of Dayton. She was a former member of the St. Rose Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Rose church, the Rev. Harry Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Lowell Brinkman
Lowell Eugene "Ted" Brinkman, 84, of Celina, died at 7:15 a.m. Oct. 7, 2003, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Sept. 5, 1919, in Mercer County, to Jacob and Alma Denman Brinkman. In 1939, he married Clara Esther Bollenbacher who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Eldon Eugene of Hendersonville, N.C.; two daughters, Judith Ann (Greg) Miller, Moses Lake, Wash., and Virginia Mae (Eddie) Martin, Springport, Ind.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter-in-law, Judy; a brother, James; a sister, Virginia Schroyer; and a grandson.
He retired in 1984 from the Jack Kerns dealership, where he had worked as an auto body mechanic for more than 30 years. He grew up in Neptune, was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, and served overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Marian Brown
Coldwater native Marian Brown, 81, of Cincinnati, died Oct. 6, 2003, at a nursing home in Cincinnati.
She was born March 28, 1922, in Coldwater, to Robert and Eulalia Bernard Giere. Her husband, H. Thomas Brown, is deceased.
Surviving are three sons, William (Nancy), James and Robert (Kim); three daughters, Katherine (Dave) Currier, Carol (Tom) Saul and Marilyn (Bob) Rothring; two sisters, Betty Brookhart and Helen Dotson; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Cincinnati.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Hodapp Funeral Home, Cincinnati.

Doris Harmon
Doris M. Harmon, 91, a resident of Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford, and a former resident of Glenmore, died at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 6, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Van Wert County, to Enos Nelson and Nettie Mae Overholt Prichard. On Feb. 15, 1935, she married Bertis William Harmon who died Dec. 12, 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Larry D. (Jean) of Wren and Terry L. (Brenda) of Convoy; two daughters, Sue (Gene) Barna, Rockford, and Janet of Van Wert; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Gary Lynn; four brothers, Hugh Bynon, Ada Doyt, Charles Ray and Alta Ralph Prichard; and six sisters, Cora Bell Ralston, Mildred Roberts, Mary Thatcher, Ethel Phillipy, Vera Prichard and Lucy Evelyn Clouse.
She was a homemaker and a member of Wren United Brethren in Christ Church.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Lee Cook officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.

Judy Marie Kincaid Homan, 45, 519 Lisle St., Celina, died at 10:54 a.m. Oct. 6, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a short illness. An autopsy has been ordered to pinpoint the cause of death.
She was born March 15, 1958, in Celina, to Lee C. Jr. and Elizabeth Perini Kincaid. Her mother survives in Celina.
Surviving are a son, Justin Lee of Celina; two daughters, Danielle Jean (Carlos) Spitler, Celina, and Jamie Marie, at home; two brothers, Michael Lee (Diane) Kincaid, Dayton, and Thomas Lee (Marianne) Kincaid, Coldwater; a sister, Carolann (John) Thees, Celina; and five grandchildren.
She was a nurse's aide at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater, and a 1976 graduate of Celina High School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
