Richard Overman
Richard F. Overman, 84, 2074 Jefferson St., Maria Stein, died at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 26, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
He was born March 23, 1919, in Maria Stein, to Louis and Rosina Rolfes Overman. On May 29, 1948, he married Alma Bernard who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Mike (Rhonda) of Celina; four brothers, Otmar (Joan), Cyril (Betty) and Louis (Joan), all of Maria Stein, and Linus (Alma) of Dayton; three sisters, Alvina (Ben) Hemmelgarn, Minster, Dorothy (Norbert) Gerlach, St. Henry, and Marilyn (Bill) Braun, Columbus; and two grandchildren.
A sister, Viola Dippold, is deceased.
He retired as an electrician at Gagel Hardware in Maria Stein. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Men's Society of the church and American Legion Post 571, all of Maria Stein. He served in the U.S. Army Corps during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with the American Legion conducting military rites.
Calling is 1-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice, the Parkinsons Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Kathleen Schenking
Kathleen Schenking, 62, Buschor Road, Coldwater, was killed in a traffic accident at 1:19 p.m. Nov. 26, 2003, in Hudson, Ind.
She was born Dec. 20, 1940, in Dayton, to Robert and Catherine Kisner Liddy. On April 14, 1964, she married Jack Schenking who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mark (Kelani) of St. Anthony and Daniel of St. Marys; a daughter, Karen (Sean) Gagne, Renton, Wash.; a brother, John (Gail) Liddy of Tennessee; a sister, Marilyn (Bob) Caporal, Dayton; and four grandchildren.
She was self-employed as a massage therapist. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and a volunteer with State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating.
Calling is 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Contributions can be made to the State of the Home Health Care &Hospice.

Margie Mason
Margie A. Mason, 73, formerly of Springboro, died at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 24, 2003, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born March 21, 1930, in Greenville, to Frank and Florence Fischer Amato. Her mother was a Minster native.
Surviving are her former husband, Robert Mason, Springboro; and a son, Michael (Debbie) of Seattle, Wash.
She formerly was office manager at Precision Industries in Springboro.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Robert Green
Memorial services for former Celina resident Robert F. Green, 52, of Lutz, Fla., are 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church gym in Celina.
He died of a sudden heart attack Nov. 15, 2003, in Tampa, Fla.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the school gym.

Robert Green
Memorial services for former Celina resident Robert F. Green, 52, of Lutz, Fla., are 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church gym in Celina.
He died of a sudden heart attack Nov. 15, 2003, in Tampa, Fla.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the school gym.

Genevieve Rohr
Genevieve Rohr, 95, a resident of Celina Manor Nursing Home and a former St. Marys resident, died Nov. 22, 2003, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 1, 1908, in St. Marys, to John and Carrie Havenar Makley. In 1925, she married Harold Minkner who died in 1930. In 1934, she married Elmer Rohr who died in 1961.
Surviving are a son, James of Chickasaw; a daughter, Margaret Reineke, Bellevue, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Makley, Monterey Park, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Marvin and Paul Minkner; two daughters, Mary Jane Rohr and Mary Ann Bost; two sisters, Bea Rutledge and Henrietta Sweigart.
She retired as a cook from the former St. Marys Nursing Home. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Esther Scheer
Esther Rose Scheer, 77, 644 N. Walnut St., Celina, formerly of New Bremen and Anna, died Nov. 24, 2003, at her sister's home in New Carlisle.
She was born Nov. 16, 1926, to George and Bertha Platfoot. On Nov. 29, 1947, she married Robert R. Scheer who died in 2001.
Surviving are a son, Randy (Cheri) of New Bremen; three daughters, Nancy of Coldwater, Vicki Schaffer, Celina, and Toni Stone, McGuffey; two brothers, Norbert Platfoot, Sidney, and Norman Platfoot, Anna; three sisters, Irene Heeter, New Carlisle, Sally Ware, Lakeview, and Lucille Scheer, Minster; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are four brothers, Raymond, Herbert, Robert and Orville Platfoot; and four sisters, Isabelle and Mary Platfoot, Agnus Cloppert and Jeanette Billing.
She was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of St. Marys.
A private memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 9127 Bellefountaine Road, New Carlisle.
There are no calling hours as her body was donated to science.
Contributions can be made to the State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.

Harold Budde
Harold J. Budde, 79, 6781 Lake Acres Drive, Celina, died at 4:32 p.m. Nov. 22, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Maria Stein, to Lawrence and Mary Eyink Budde. On Jan. 28, 1950, he married Norma J. Norris who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David A. (Linda) of Englewood and Marc E. (Linda) of Celina; three sisters, Marian (Deacon Carl) Franzer, Maria Stein, Wilma (Todd) Monnier, Russia, and Mildred (Cy) Buehler, Santa Maria, Calif.; a stepsister, Mary Catherine Wolters, Mesa, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Lucy Budde, Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.
A son, Douglas Lee, and a brother, Elmer, are deceased.
He had been a Mercer County Sheriff's deputy and retired from Mersman Furniture in 1987. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, and served with the U.S. Army in Italy and North Africa during World War II.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
Contributions can be made to St. Peter Neurological Center in Burkettsville or the I.C. Endowment Fund.

Phil Buschor
Phil Buschor Jr., 65, 917 Ivy Lane, Celina, died at 9:05 p.m. Nov. 21, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Ohio City, to Phil J. and Margaret Evelyn Wright Buschor. On Nov. 28, 1959, he married E. Ann Feister and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Cindy) of Celina and Mark (Margaret) of Solon; and five grandchildren.
He had been a supervisor at Ford Motor Co. in Lima, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church,
Celina, the Mercer County Sportsmen Society and a past trustee of the Mercer County Sportsman Association.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.

Hugh Dull
Hugh F. Dull, 86, 225 E. Fulton St., Celina, died at 12:22 a.m. Nov. 23, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 9, 1917, in Van Wert County, to Herbert Oscar and Mary Luticia Bolenbaugh Dull. On Aug. 3, 1940, he married Opal Shaffer who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Monte J. (Rebecca) of Roanoke, Ind., and Thomas (Peggy) of Celina; five daughters, Deanna (Larry) Riesen, Fort Wayne, Ind., Judy (Michael) Mersman, Teressa (George) Kerns and Gena Lewis, all of Celina, and Sonya (Mark) Davis, Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Joan (Don) Knerr, Payne; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Forest Hubert, Wilson J. and Robert Lloyd, and four sisters, Mary B. McNeal, Martha Elizabeth Ricketts, Mildred May Mayers and Agnes Moring.
He worked in the engineering department at Avco New Idea in Coldwater for 30 years. A 1934 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School, he served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, has charge of arrangements.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.

Larry Fetters
Larry W. Fetters, 62, 116 Home Ave., Celina, died at 3:30 a.m. Nov. 21, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Celina, to John D. and Donna Delores Martz Fetters. On Nov. 26, 1965, he married Marjorie A. Drake. His mother, his stepmother Helen Fetters and his wife all survive in Celina.
Other survivors are two daughters, Tess D. (Gary) Glass, Celina, and Debora J. (Stephen) Shaffer, Lima; two sisters, Delores Elaine Boone, Dickson, Tenn., and Diane and Walt Abels, Florida; two stepsisters, Susie (Jack) Severns, Mendon, and Shirley Orr of Florida; two grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, John Keith.
He was appointed a patrolman with the Celina Police Department April 6, 1968, and named assistant chief Jan. 13, 1979. He retired from the department Oct. 30, 1993, after 30 years of service. A 1959 graduate of Celina High School, he was a member of the Mercer County Sportsman Club and Celina First Church of God.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Revs. Bruce Strine and Richard VanHorn officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the Mercer County Heart Association.
