Roberta Franklin
Roberta L. Franklin, 64, 1010 W. Race St., Portland, Ind., died Dec. 24, 2000 at Jay County Hospital, Portland following a long illness.
She was born Nov. 14, 1936 in Fort Recovery to Vernon and Florence (Lee) Mott. Her mother survives in Fort Recovery. On Nov. 19, 1955, she married Dale L. Franklin, who died Sept. 28, 1977.
Survivors are daughter and her husband, Beth Ann and Todd Owens, Geneva, Ind.; a sister and her husband, Julia and Michael Carr, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Deceased is her father.
She was employed at Ernie Loy Real Estate and Portland Forge Credit Union, and was a former employee of Portland Office Supply, all of Portland. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Portland, Jay County Landlords Association, Portland Kiwanis Club and Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, and earned an associates degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland Chapel, the Revs. Paul Isch and Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial is at Salamonia, Ind., Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to Jay County Cancer Society or Indiana Donor Foundation.

Richard Stoker
Richard Albert Stoker, 68, died Dec. 25, 2000 at his Fort Wayne, Ind., residence.
He was born Sept. 13, 1932, in St. Marys, to William and Vera Fay (Cottrell) Stoker. His wife, JoAnn, survives.
Other survivors are a son, Richard E. of Huntertown, Ind.; two daughters, Barbara A. Clifton and Linda S. Arthur, both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Carl W. of Fort Wayne, and Benny L. of St. Marys; a sister, Vera Irene Stahey, Loughman, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was retired after working as a truck driver for Don R. Fruchey and was a member of Teamsters Local 414. He was a member of Meadow Crest Brethren Church.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, the Revs. Richard Austin and Richard Leone officiating. Burial is at Highland Park Cemetery.
Calling is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Loretta Benanzer
Loretta E. Benanzer, 89, 7920 Fort Loramie-Swanders Road, Anna, died at 7:15 a.m. Dec. 27, 2000 at Dorothy Love Retirement Center near Sidney.
She was born Aug. 10, 1911, in Minster, to Joseph and Anna (Kaiser) Stueve. On April 27, 1938, she married Urban Benanzer, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Joan and Ray Massey, Anna, and five grandchildren.
Deceased are four sisters and seven brothers.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and its St. Anne Ladies Sodality, Fort Loramie.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Revs. Steven Shoup and Chris Wittman officiating. Burial is at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to the church's restoration fund.

Patricia Forsthoefel
Patricia A. Forsthoefel, 70, 847 Pauline Drive, Coldwater, died at 5:21 a.m. Dec. 27, 2000 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Nov. 7, 1930, in Dayton, to Edwin T. and Mary (Schenking) Hogan. On Aug. 11, 1951, she married Thomas Forsthoefel, who survives.
Other survivors are six sons and their wives, Gary and Ann of Centerville, Ronald and Deb of Loudonville, Tim and Sharon of Doylestown, Pa., Kevin and Susan of Columbus, Kurt and Carol of Minster, and Brent and Linda of Coldwater; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Shirley Hogan, Coldwater, and James and Gayetta Hogan, Celina; a sister, Betty Giere, Coldwater; and 16 grandchildren.
She was a retired office worker from Community Hospital, Coldwater, and later was a volunteer there. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Eucharistic Ministry and St. Anns Rosary Altar Sodality, St. Cecilia Knights of St. John, Order of St. Francis, American Legion Auxiliary, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Martha Schoonover
Martha M. Schoonover, 78, of Lima, died at 3:35 p.m. Dec. 27, 2000 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Mineral, to William G. and Inez L. (Sickels) McWhorter. On March 28, 1942, she married Elliott L. Schoonover, who died Nov. 28, 1958.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Elliott R. and Linda J. of Celina, and Michael W. and Deborah of Lima; a daughter and her husband, Karen E. and Carey Grant, Ada; a brother, James W. McWhorter, Celina; a sister, Francis Marlatt, Lima; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Beulah Nickoludes and Opal McWhorter.
She was a nurse's aide with Home Health Care and was of Methodist faith.
Services are 12:30 p.m. Friday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Home's Shawnee Chapel, Lima, the Rev. Terry L. Anderson officiating. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Calling is 11 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Thelma Green
Thelma Green, 79, died at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 28, 2000 at Celina Manor, where she was a resident.
Her body will be cremated, and there are no services scheduled at this time.
Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, handled arrangements.

Mildred Partin Bennett
Mildred L. Partin Bennett, 79, of Mendon, died at 4:20 p.m. Dec. 28, 2000 at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
She was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Middlesboro, Ky., to William and Marguerite (Wagner) Fallen. On March 16, 1997, she married Dwight Bennett, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Richard and Janet Lane and Phillip and Judy Lane, all of Lima; four stepsons and their wives, Greg and Mary, Joe and Karen and Randy and Cindy, all of Celina, and Fred and Judy, of Port Isabel, Texas; two daughters and their husbands, Jane Patterson and Bob Risher, of Lima, and Cathy and Douglas Bruns, of Celina; a sister and her husband, Thelma and Howard Greene, Cridersville; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat- grandchildren.
Deceased are former spouses Roy B. Lane and Howard W. Partin, a brother, William H. Wagner and a sister, Mary West.
She was a homemaker and retired from working at Wells Department Store.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Shawnee Chapel, Lima, the Rev. William Croy. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Bethel Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to St. Rita's Hospice or Phi Beta Psi Sorority in support of cancer research.

Charles Herbert Hennon
Former Lima resident Charles Herbert "Chuck" Hennon, 72, died at 10:10 a.m. Dec. 28, 2000 at Hospice and Pallpiative Care Unit of Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Mercer County to Herbert and Anna Belle (Snyder) Hennon.
Survivors are a sister, Lou-Anna Hanshumaker, and a sister and her husband, Marilyn and Richard Waite, all of Delphos.
Deceased are his parents.
He was a retired horse trainer and graduate of Shawnee High School and the Ohio State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services are 1 p.m. Sunday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. Eugene Perrty officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to Delphos Hospice.

Adelaide Muller
Adelaide "Adeline" Muller, 87, 5433 Ohio 705, New Weston, died at 2:10 a.m. Dec. 29, 2000 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Aug. 28, 1913, in Darke County to John and Charlotte (Buschur) Muller.
Survivors are a brother, Leo, of New Weston; a sister, Catherine, of Coldwater; and two sisters and their husbands, Helen and Clarence Bertke, Celina, and Rita and Urban Winner, Frenchtown.
Deceased is a sister, Agnes.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and its Ladies Sodality.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. James Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mary Kay Prenger
Mary Kay "Katie" Prenger, 50, 572 E. Washington St., St. Henry, died at 9:35 a.m. Dec. 29, 2000 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 2, 1950, in St. Henry, to Otto and Marcella (Moorman) Rammel. Her father survives in St. Henry. On July 28, 1990, she married Nick Prenger, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Bill, at home; two brothers and their wives, John and Linda, St. Henry, and Mark and Virginia, Ludlow Falls; parents-in-law, Edwin and Mildred Prenger, Coldwater; brothers-in-laws and their wives, Ken and Joan of Chickasaw, and Dan and Joyce of St. Henry; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Deb and Randy Rindler, Tipp City.
Deceased is a brother, Lavern.
She was an office manager at Mercer Beverage Co. in St. Henry. She was a former member of the St. Henry Rescue Squad, a founding member of the Catholic Adults Singles Club and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
