Terry "Skeeter" Teman, 49, of Delphos, died 1:58 p.m. Friday at his residence. He was born July 31, 1953, in Van Wert County, to Cleo "Benny" Franklin and Esther Coleen (Best) Teman. On July 28, 1996, he married Donata "Dee" Rejmak, who survives in Delphos. Other survivors include a son, David Teman of Delphos; three daughters, Terry Dian Ditto and Samantha Jean Teman of Delphos and Dawn Delores Fain of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Skip (Chuck) Bardo and Susan Teman of Delphos; a brother, Butch (Charlene) Teman of Delphos; a grandmother, Mary Teman of Delphos; a step-daughter, Heidi Fittro of Delphos; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Teman. Mr. Teman worked at Kill Brothers of Delphos as a welder. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and was an active member of the Delphos Bass Club and loved to fish in bass tournaments. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev.Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Dorothy M. Diegel, 79, of Delphos, formerly of Van Wert, died at 11:15 a.m. Friday at her residence. She was born June 18, 1923 in Van Wert, to George and Stella Mae (Emmans) Height. On July 23, 1944 she married Raymond McNew, who died Feb. 15, 1986. She then married John Diegel Dec. 24, 1993. He survives in Delphos. Other survivors include a daughter, Maggie McNew of Van Wert; a step-son, Monty (Bert) Diegel of Celina; two brothers, Ted (Janette) Height and Elvin (Erma) Height of Van Wert; two step-grandchildren, Tyson and Randy Diegel. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of First Friends Church, Van Wert. Joseph Waldman

Joseph Waldman, 66, of Cambridge, died Wednesday at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born Dec. 17, 1936 in Defiance, to Joseph and Dorothy (Lang) Waldman. Survivors include three sons, Christopher Waldman of Columbus, Peter Waldman of Los Angeles, and Matthew Waldman of Lancaster, Calif.; a daughter, Darla Ottolenghi of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Jim Waldman of Defiance; five sisters, Karen (Richard) Odenweller of Delphos, Mary Ann (John) Dray of Palm Coast, Fla., and Susie Flores, Jane (Joseph) Imber and Nancy (Jon) Eickenberg of Defiance; and three great grandchildren. He worked in radio broadcasting. He started his career at WNOW in Defiance in 1959. He also worked at WBEC in Pittsfield, Mass., WTVN in Columbus and WHIO in Dayton. During his stint at WTVN he wrote and produced historic documentaries and was a recipient of two George Washington Medals from Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge, Pa for his insight program on "The Age of Dissent", "The Story of Valley Forge" and "The Stars and Stripes". He received a citation from the Ohio State Institute for Education by Radio-Television for his documentary "The Road to Pearl Harbor", as well as commendations from the FBI and B'nai B'rith for his study of Soviet Communism that was read in its entirety into the Congressional Record. He graduated from Ayersville High School and Defiance College, where he received the Fred Peterson History Award. Private Graveside Services will be Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, the Rev. Rick Refenacht officiating. There is no visitation.

Phyllis P. Mayberry

Phyllis P. Mayberry, 77, of Columbus Grove, died 4:40 p.m. Wednesday at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Pandora, to Lennis and Cora (Shank) Grismore. She married Willis Mayberry, who survives in Columbus Grove. Other survivors include a son, Greg (Patricia) Mayberry of Columbus Grove; five daughters, Paula (David) Stewart, Grace Stechschulte, Connie (Robert) Collins, Lisa (Dennis) Schroeder and Denise (Alan Rachesky) O'Connor of Columbus Grove; a sister-in-law, Ruth Grismore of Bluffton; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Maurice Grismore; and a sister, LaVera Benroth Moser. Mrs. Mayberry retired in 1988 from Philips Display Components in Ottawa. She was a member of Pandora Missionary Church and a 1944 graduate of Pandora High School. Hubert Joseph Beckmann, 87, of Muskegon, Mich., formerly of Delphos, died Feb. 5 at his residence. He was born Jan. 18, 1916 in Delphos, to Marcus and Mary Agnes (Wolfgang) Beckmann. On June 13, 1939, he married Mary Agnes Beaudry, who survives. Survivors also include two sons, Daniel A. (Maggie) Beckmann of Grand Rapids, Mich., and David E. (Dr. Charlene) Beckmann of Muskegon; two daughters, Diane R. Beckmann and Denise M. (Randy) Hassen of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and special friend, Betty Tice of Muskegon. Mr. Beckmann was employed at Bostwick-Braun Co., and then VanCamp Co. of Indianapolis, where he retired in 1973. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Muskegon, and a past member of the Muskegon Jaycees, former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of the Muskegon Catholic Central School Board. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. Norman Droski officiating. Eugene M. "Gene" Beining, 68, of Ottoville, died 1 a.m. Thursday at his residence. He was born April 12, 1934 in Ottoville, to Joseph and Veronica A. (Koetter) Beining. On April 7, 1956, he married Mary Ann Etgen, who survives in Ottoville. Other survivors include four daughters, Nancy Beining, Deb (Ron) Cross and Lisa (Joe) Modica of Ottoville, and Mary Jo (Mark) Knott of Ottawa; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane (Greg) King; three brothers, Art, Walt and Joe Beining; and three sisters, Lauretta Miller, Hilda Ricker and Genevieve Becker. Mr. Beining retired after 43 years at Fruehauf Corp. in Delphos, as an electrician. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was a former member of the Ottoville Park Board, the Ottoville Village Council, the church's Parish Council and the Ottoville Lions Club. Mary B. Burnett, 83, of Van Wert, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at her daughter's residence. She was born Dec. 11, 1919 in Convoy, to Joseph and Carrie (Pyle) Horine. On Jan. 31, 1948, she married Matthew Max Burnett, who died Jan. 6, 1999. Survivors include a son, Ronald M. (Joyce) Burnett of Lima; a daughter, Julie A. (Robert) Gamble of Van Wert; two sisters, Mary (Wayne) Compton and Ruth Horine of Van Wert; four sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Horine, Ruth Mosier and Freda (Dr. Fred) Culler of Van Wert and Alice Burnett of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Jennifer Gamble, Ron Gamble, Jill Gamble, Sarah Burnett, Katie Worsteir and Eve Burnett; and two great-grandchildren, Isaac Perez and Olivia Perez. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Horine; and a sister, Edna Phillips. Mrs. Burnett retired in 1982 after 17 years at Kennedy Kit in Van Wert. Mary W. Black, 86, of Lima, died 6:55 p.m. Saturday at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born July 21, 1916 in Connorville, to Stephan and Anna (Tczap) Wyhowanec. On June 14, 1941, she married Frank J. Black Sr., who died July 3, 1988. Survivors include three daughters, Jacqueline (James) Ehresman and Christine Black of Lima, and Sandra (David) Niles of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Frank (Sandra) Black Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Helen Davis of Lima and Ann Roth of St. Clairsville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Black; and three brothers, Andrew Logan-Wyhowanec and John and Stephan Wyhowanec. Mrs. Black was a homemaker. She was a former member and active at Olivet Presbyterian Church, and a member of Shawnee Presbyterian Church. She was involved in Lima City Schools PTA and volunteer for the Allen County Board of Elections. She married Erdene Cameron, who died in 1994. Survivors include five sons, Rodney Cameron, Randy Cameron, Rory (Teresa) Cameron, Mark (Penny) Cameron and Scott (Evelyn) Cameron of Beaverdam; a daughter, Kim Arnett of Beaverdam; four brothers, David (Diane) Tegenkamp and Dennis (Karen) Tegenkamp of Lima, Nicholas Tegenkamp of Cincinnati and Leo Edmiston of Arizona; three sisters, Sandra Keran of Lima, Mary Jo Joseph of Waynesfield and Linda Sue (Larry) Loescher of Cridersville; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Daisy Mae Stepleton, 83, of Delphos, died 2:21 p.m. Feb. 8 at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born April 14, 1919 in Dupont, to Samuel Walter Etter and Eda Mae (De Coursey) Etter. She married Anthony Joseph Stepleton, who died Aug. 27, 1983. Survivors include a son, Michael L. (Carol) Stepleton of Livonia, Mich.; a daughter, Beverly K. Hipsher of Lima; a sister-in-law, Anna Mary Etter of Dupont; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-mother, Zora Frankie Wells Etter; a son, Anthony E. Stepleton; three infant children; four brothers; two sisters and a son-in-law, Vernon Hipsher. She worked at the cigar factory in Delphos and Lima. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471 Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Della (Leist) Miller, who died Sept. 14, 2001. Survivors include a son, Tim (Kathleen) Miller of Delphos; two daughters, Jeanne R. (William) Gallaway of Kyle, Texas, and Lori A. (Mark) Bridges of Celina; two brothers, Alphonse Miller of Delphos, and Paul Miller of Chandler, Ariz.; four sisters, Ann (Gene) Klausing, Mary Hauenstein and Alice Gengler of Delphos, and Luella Beard of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Christy and Julie Miller of Delphos, Tami Gallaway of Tempe, Ariz., Troy Gallaway of Kyle, Texas, and Samantha Bridges of Celina; and a great-granddaughter, Corran Gallaway of Kyle, Texas. On Nov. 15, 1965 he married Janice Ogle, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, William A. Joe M. Wright, 87, of Spencerville, died 1:27 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville. He was born May 30, 1915 in Van Wert County, to George B. and Stella (McClure) Wright. On April 17, 1941 he married Mabel Stelzer, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Joan (Kenneth) Starr of Lima; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Strahm of Orlando; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; six nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia B. Butts. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Spencerville, and its Together Sunday School Class. At the church he also served as chairman on various commissions, was a Lay Leader, Chairman of the Official Board, organized "The Methodist Men", was on the building committee and taught Sunday School for many years. He had served as president of the Spencerville Service Association, had been a Spencer Township Trustee and was a member of the Spencerville Grange 2424, Allen County Farm Bureau, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, Spencerville, and the Black Cat Club of Spencerville. He was a 1934 graduate of Spencerville High School and later attended the Veteran's VoAg School. He was a veteran, serving in the F. Company Ohio National Guard in 1938. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater until 1945. He was a member of the Army Reserves until 1948. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Mike Swanton officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery, where graveside military rites will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion Post 191. On Oct. 16, 1946, she married Walter N. Zerkel, who died Oct. 24, 1965. Survivors include three sons, Michael Zerkel of Delphos, Tim (Jan) Zerkel of Fort Jennings and Jim (Pam) Zerkel of Columbus Grove; a daughter, Kathleen (Kenny) Bott of Columbus Grove; a brother, Richard (Alice) Bendele of Ottoville; two sisters, Catherine Gudakunst of Ottoville, and Marty Gerdeman of Ottoville; nine grandchildren, Nicole and Greg McCann, Brent Zerkel, Jeff Howard, Amy Miller, Andrea Zerkel, Jessica Zerkel, Joni Zerkel, Josh Bott and Jesse Bott; and four great grandchildren, Jordan McCann, Lauryn McCann, Kayla Braun and Jacob Miller. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry Bendele, Carl Bendele and twin infants, John and Paul; and a sister, Salome Bendele. She retired from Ottoville Local Schools where she was a cook, and from I&K Distributors. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its alter rosary society. She enjoyed music and playing bingo. She was an avid bird watcher. Mass of Christian burial was 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Jennings, the Rev. Tony Borgia officiating. On April 18, 1992, she married Rick Newland, who also survives in Lima. On July 15, 1933, she married Jesse Edward Miller, who died Jan. 31, 1995. Survivors include a son, Robert (Shirley) Miller of Baldwin; a daughter, Mary Ann (Charles) England of Broken Arron, Okla.; two sisters, Eleanor Leatherman of Lima and Margie Verhling of Michigan; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of the Allentown United Methodist Church, where she was active with the youth groups. Myrtle R. Louth, 82, of rural Spencerville, died 3 a.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville. She was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Delphos to Edward and Mary (Cleman) Rahrig. On Nov. 30, 1940, she married Maurice A. Louth, who died Sept. 20, 1984. Survivors include four sons, Bernard (Pam) Louth, Dennis (Kay) Louth and Rex (Deb) Louth of Spencerville and Larry Louth of Celina; a daughter, Marilyn Ladd of Spencerville; a sister, Elda Calvelage of Delphos; a brother, Bernard (Juanita) Falke of Delphos; a brother-in-law, Arnold Liebrecht of Delphos; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beverly Louth; a brother, Forest Rahrig; and a sister, Agnes Liebrecht. Mrs. Louth retired from Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville after 20 years and assisted her husband on the family farm. She had been a member of the Olive Chapel United Methodist Church in Converse and attended the Kingsley United Methodist Church in Van Wert County. She was a member of the Bowersock Bros. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Auxiliary and the Converse Garden Club. She was a 1938 graduate of St. John's High School. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Margie J. Baxter Heil
Margie J. Baxter Heil, 57, of Spencerville, died 8:20 a.m. Monday at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville. She was born June 4, 1945 in Lima, to Richard G. and Dorothy E. (Gold) Kill. On Jan. 27, 1979, she married Vernon E. Baxter, who died Feb. 9, 1996. On Oct. 26, 1996, she married R. James Heil, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Steven R. Pivonka of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepson, Merl James "M.J." Heil of Van Wert; two brothers, William E. (Mary) Kill of Venedocia and Raymond C. (Carol) Kill of St. Marys; two sisters, Juanita L. (James) Stauffer of New Lebanon and Ronda Bennette of Tucson; a grandchild, Melinda K. Ford of Tucson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Bennette. Heil was co-owner of the RJ Discount Mart in Spencerville. She was a member of the Ross Church of the Brethren near Mendon, and its Women's Fellowship. She had attended Spencerville First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company Auxiliary and the Spencerville Retail Merchants Association. She was a 1963 graduate of Buckland High School. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Revs. Thomas M. McDonald and Oran L. Thomas officiating. Rosanne Venturella

Rosanne Venturella, 53, of Lima, died 7 p.m. Friday at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born June 28, 1949 in Lima, to Charles "Charlie" and Jennie (Calderone) Venturella. Her mother survives. Survivors also include a brother, Don (Linda) Venturella of Lima; a nephew, Vincent Venturella of Columbus; and numerous relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony "Tony" Venturella. Ms. Venturella was a secretary at General Dynamics in Lima. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church, the Rev. William J. Rose officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Donald L. Partee Jr.

Donald L. Partee Jr., 74, of Lima, died 7:50 p.m. Saturday at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1928 in Tiffin, to Donald LeRoy and Hazel (Zimmerman) Partee Sr. His mother survives. On Jan. 20, 1950, he married Phyllis S. Mertz, who also survives. Other survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (Connie) Partee of Celina and Kevin "Doug" Partee of Lima; a daughter, Carol (George) Sweeney of Lima; a brother, Alan Lee (Sherri) Partee of Dayton; and five grandchildren. Mr. Partee retired from Sears after 37 years as a salesman. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 370 and loved to fish, garden, collect a bit of everything and was a Civil War enthusiast. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. Dr. Larry Hamilton officiating. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Robert G. Saine

Robert G. Saine, 65, of Lima, died 4:45 a.m. Sunday at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1937 in Lima, to Walter Lee and Marjorie (Switzer) Saine. On Oct. 25, 1958, he married Darlene K. Newland, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Tony (Kellie) Saine of Delphos; a daughter, Kimberly McDonald of Lima; two brothers, Jack (Judy) Saine of Lima, and Donald (Sylvia) Saine of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Ann (Jack) Burden of Lima and Susan (Richard) Scott of Ada; three brothers-in-law, Robert (Candy) Newland of Lima, Tom (Yvonne) Newland of Medina and Richard (Diana) Newland of Sylvania; five grandchildren, J.R. and Hailey McDonald and Rebecca, Erica and Robert Saine. Mr. Saine retired in 1997 from Sprint after 42 years as a network technician. He was a member of Lima Telephone Pioneers and an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan and enjoyed fishing. He served in the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Chapel, the Rev. Howard Allison officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1275. Marjorie M. Hartman

Marjorie M. Hartman, 94, of Columbus Grove, died 12:25 p.m. Saturday at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 16, 1908, near Everett, Pa., to Russell and Olive (Bussard) Mellot. On June 12, 1934, she married Richard C. Hartman, who survives in Columbus Survivors also include a son, E. Lynn (Kathy) Hartman of Columbus Grove; two sisters, Geri (Don) Horton of Everett, and Zelma Mellot of Martinsburg, Pa.; four granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Mellot; and two sisters, Mabel Whipkey and Vera Diggs. Mrs. Hartman was a teacher and homemaker. She taught at the Chesterfield Centralized School in Fayette and also at Columbus Grove High School, where she taught home economics. She was a member of Columbus Grove United Church of Christ, and its Women's Fellowship. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Columbus Grove New Century Club, where she had been a past president, and the Columbus Grove American Legion Post Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Defiance College. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Pastor Don Sadler officating. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Columbus Grove United Church of Christ.

Edward E. Rose

Edward E. Rose, 53, of Van Wert, died 4:55 a.m. Sunday at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was born May 2, 1949, in Huntington, W.Va., to Edward and Sylvia Rose. His mother, Sylvia (James) Rose Niece, survives in Proctorville. On May 21, 1999, he married Lisa M. Lewis, who also survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Susannah (David) Wentz of Plymouth, Wis.; two stepchildren, Nicole Cooper and Dustin Cooper of Van Wert; a sister, Brenda (Michael) Banks of Melbourne, Fla.; two grandchildren and a nephew, Corey Banks of Cocoa Beach, Fla. Mr. Rose had been a truck driver. He was a graduate of Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, Fla., and was an avid sports participant. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be in Convoy IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
